Perhaps he wanted to run, but there was no turning back now: between the uniform and his thoughts about Panili's vision and what it all meant (so many things buzzing about his thinkpan, so many things), he couldn't leave. He had to see this through. Even if he was out of his element. He was bustled about and, finally, left in front of a construction site. They probably expected him to start hauling s**t with the rest of the trolls... But when he saw how inefficiently everyone was working, something... clicked. ”No, you gotta do it this way!” he blurted out, gesturing, ”You, carry that over there. You, carry that over there.” he said, irately directing them. Yes, the space ladder was probably bad, but that was no excuse for being stupid about it. Plus, they were crushing succulents under their feet... He couldn't have that.

Quote: Overseeing a radio call, you manage to identify a leak in the transmission and disable it before any information or goods are compromised. The orientation spiel was...dull, to put it kindly, to the greenblood. Ri was never too interested in science. She appreciated the hard work and dedication that it took from other trolls, but she strongly preferred more magickal means of accomplishing tasks. Regardless of her lack of interest, she was giving the woman speaking her utmost attention, it was refreshing to see a lowblood in some seat of power, and her ambition sparked a smirk from the witch. Rianon found herself entrenched in these scientific activities due to, ulterior motives. She needed to find more trolls to...assist her with her endeavors back home. Or at least she hoped to find some trolls, and this was as likely a place as any. Once they were all handed their initial gear, Rianon was appalled at the hideous jumpsuit. She immediately tossed it into a corner, finding her own garments more than adequate for how she was planning to help. They'd have to literally force her to put that grotesque thing on if they wanted her to wear it. Once the volunteer work finally began, Ri found herself gravitating towards the more interesting (in her opinion) jobs, rather than the straight up science or brute work. With good spongeclots she managed to pick up some odd disturbances in a radio frequency, quickly reporting this she managed to prevent some information leaks. Pleased with her work, the young greenblood decided to mill about a bit, getting a handle on some of the other trolls around. A passing conversation caught her attention as she heard a blueblood explaining her dislike of the high and low blood terminology. This made her quickly gravitate in that direction. She was pleased to see another greenblood come up and get chummy with the more liberal sounding blueblood. Ri was a little wary of anything over teal, but now wasn't the time to let her wariness show. "Impressive work, looks like we're off to a good start here," Ri commented, toward the female bluedblood with the greenblood on her shoulder, glancing the boy over as well. His comments interested her far less, but she needed to keep good face regardless. "Physical labor is overlooked way too often. You two seems to have a good grasp of it though. I feel like this little group of volunteers might make a good deal of difference." She smiled at the three of them, as charmingly as possible. "You can call me Ri by the way."Hivestuck Name: Rianon Sahira Activity: Covert Ops Activities Resources gained: +1 Research +3 Morale

Maybe, he thought, as he watched them get into their carts, If they get out of the way, I can figure out something...He was certainly going to find nothing with them crowding him and making him snarl and shiver in his overalls. They made him nervous. That thing above him made him nervous... But he couldn't go home. Not yet. He had a job to do.

Sephos berated the foolish drones. He knew nothing about mechanical decices - he was a gardener - but the drone was clearly doing it wrong. Even he could see that. "No, no, you have to do it this way!" He shoved it into place properly. "See? See?" The thing buzzed to life, thrumming healthily under his hand. "S-see?" he said, jerking his hand away. It's not a plant he told himself, unnerved, It's not alive...For a moment there, though, he had been fooled. He'd thought it just like a plant, growing in his garden, needing the right placement and care to work. But it wasn't. It wasn't. And thinking about them like they were was wrong. They were not living things, and he could not love them. After all, they were going to cause something very bad... right?

Quote: You push a maintenance drone all the way from one side of the base to another for repairs, allowing it to keep functioning and all that. Whew! He could hardly breath, this was horrible. Nictor's eyes were squinted tightly shut because looking at things was beginning to hurt. Normally he'd do some breathing exercises to calm himself down but the air was so hot in this vent. His station issues jumpsuit clung uncomfortably to his skin and he we getting nervous from the sounds of trolls bustling around out in the hall behind him.
What if someone dropped one of the heavy steel beams on his leg and mangled it? What if one of he drones saw the vent grate on the ground and tried to reattach it despite any obstruction, meaning cutting his leg off to get it out of the way? What if the heat vent collapsed due to the blockage he was making and he actually was cooked alive? What if-
His spiraling inner thoughts abruptly cut into white noise when something touched his leg.
Keyed up as he was, Nictor let out a loud yelp as his whole body spasmed. His leg tried to jerk into the vent, his arms tried to flail outward, and his other leg tried to kick, launching his head into the roof of the vent. The result actually got him unstuck, now laying in the vent his both feet dangling out.
He was still for a moment before shuffling backwards and flopping onto the dirty tile floor, savoring the cool hallways, still a bit dazed from overheating then slamming his head into the vent walls.
He did heave himself up after a few moments to screw the vent panel back into the wall, fumbling for the screwdriver in his pocket. Man, it would have been bad if that had stabbed his leg. He nearly collapsed again as he picked up the vent and tried to start screwing the panel back on. There was a niggling sensation that he was forgetting something, but he had four screws in his hand, so he couldn't possibly be. The niggling grew stronger as he barely managed to reattach the vent cover and he turned around afterward.
"Oh!" He said, jumping a little and collapsing into the wall behind him when his leg buckled. He hadn't expected to see any troll that he knew personally, especially given he didn't know a good many trolls. "H-hey Ko-kolako. S---orry, I w-was kinda... stuck."
He offered a small smile, wiping his palms on his pant legs only to wince when that barely helped. Yikes he needed to change. And the feeling of missing something was still there too. Nictor stuffed the screwdriver back in his pocket only to be reminded that a crumpled memo was there too.
Oh! The memo had had his other daily tasks on it, not just the vent! Pulling the paper out, Nictor almost groaned again at the words written there. He definitely needed to hydrate before he pushed any stationary maintenance drone anywhere.Hivestuck Name: Nictor Sabbat Activity: Endurance Resources gained: +2 labor +1 morale

Hivestuck Name: Caiden Banksy Activity: Social -> Troll Relations Activities Resources gained: +3 research You learn all about the opposing facility’s leaders and sponsors in order to cut deals to sidestep their influence. Caiden, of course, first decided to chat to the other workers and such at the Chittentown Space Research And Developmental Pioneering Science Laboratories. The boy moved from researchers to workers to trolls rallying up others to work hard. It really inspired the boy to do his part. Caiden actually listened to one of his friend's tips and brought a notebook. The orangeblood could be seen scribbling madly as whomever he was with talked and explained things to him. The orangeblood's excited yells could be heard all throughout the factory. Eventually Caiden ran out of people to chat to, and decided to find a table. Caiden sat down and looked at what information he had collected. It was a little confusing, a lot of rumors, and a lot of long winded explanations about science facts. Caiden's notes on the science lectures were very incomplete. The poor kid had spaced out a little when those technical lectures were going on, and it showed in his notes. Caiden tried to poor over the notes he took, but was having trouble focusing or really catching anything. Then the orangeblood spotted his friend Engrav. The yellowblood was engrossed in whatever weird thing he was doing, but seeing her best-est buddy reminded Caiden of what Engrav often told him. Connections Caiden, they are everywhere. Or something like that. Engrav said a lot of weird stuff, but that was why Caiden loved him so much. Caiden looked at his notes again, trying to see it from Engrav's eyes. Suddenly he realized that there were connections. Connections everywhere! The leaders of the Civisect group were dirty cheaters. Caiden could not believe his eyes! How could they cheat on something like this?! This was about friends! And building something! Or space. Caiden got up from his table and ran over to Engrav. "ENGRAV! ENGRAV!" The boy yelled in his friend's ear. "LOOK AT THIS!!!" Caiden shoved the notebook into his friend's face and continued. "See?! We got to STOP then! We need to DO something! Engrav! They are CHEATERS! HELP! We gotta DO something!"

Caiden watched the drones and muscular trolls lift and carry heavy equipment and supplies. The boy started to wonder if he could do cool things like that. "Wow!" The orangeblood said approaching a troll that had just set down some supplies. "That looks tough! Is it hard? Wow you lifted so much!!" The orangeblood blubbered to the other troll. The other worker suggested Caiden give it a try and the orangeblood jumped up in excitement. Sweating and panting, Caiden carried supplies after supplies over to the loading docks. Before he knew it and hour had passed. The orangeblood looked up, assessing how much he had moved. The boy let out a cry of victory as he realized just ho many he had delivered.

Hivestuck Name: Engrav Setlar Activity: Social -> Covert Ops Activities Resources gained: +4 research, +1 for cooperation Going through files is incredibly important, and you glean information about persons of importance and their tactics to use for later. +4 research Engrav ran through his agent's notebook, reading faster and faster and he took in the information. Of course the Civisect leaders would be cheating. It would be insane of them not to. It was merely a question of who could cheat the best, then. The yellowblood stared at a particularly distracting scrawl of some sort of sea beast and thought. Counter-intelligence would obviously be very important in this contest. It would be a simple matter to spend some time pouring over the work logs and listening in on conversations to determine who was working in earnest and who was a Civisect plant. He smiled at the brownblood. The information was jumbled and confusing, but it was here. Engrav had some work to do. Traps for enemy agents to plant. "Good job, Caiden. Bring me a few more of these and we'll really have something juicy to go on." He pulled a pen from his table and started going through the journal, highlighting suspicious passages.

You manage to hold it still until it runs out of juice, impressing everyone and keeping the workforce moving. +2 labor +2 morale A drone walked up to an unsuspecting Sephos. "Here, hold this." they said. Sephos blinked as he was handed something metallic that whirred continuously and was very, very heavy. "What?" he asked, but they were already gone. He looked down at the contraption and was eerily reminded of the robochild, Setsha. He was further reminded when it bucked and shuddered, struggling to escape his tightening grasp. "Stop it!" he implored, giving it a whack on the shiny dome-thing that he decided was his head. That hadn't worked with Setsha, and it didn't work here either - it seemed to make it... it? ... more agitated. He held it back until the drone returned "Thanks." they said, leaving. Sephos didn't notice the impressed looking nods, or the chuckles of vague amusement. He was just glad that he'd managed to hold the stupid thing... and that he'd not missed little Setsha. Not one bit. Nope...

Caiden flustered around a bit. Why was Engrav being so, so relaxed about this! People should be nice and friendly to each other. The orangeblood walked circles around Engrav's table for a while, and eventually sat down next to him. "Engrav! We gotta stop them, okay? Cheating is BAD! And I just want everyone to have fun and build an elevator or whatever this is." The boy muttered as he started fiddling with the papers all around the yellowblood. As with most things, Caiden proceeded to get distracted and started messing with some parts and gears. This mechanical puzzle was actually really interesting! "Hey!" Caiden said, nudging the yellowblood who was obviously trying to focus. "Look at this thing, see? Its really cool! How all the parts just kinda, fit together and stuff! Oh you should try this Engrav!" Caiden continued, going and getting more mechanical parts and dropping them onto Engrav's papers.

Hivestuck Name: Engrav Setlar Activity: Intellectual -> Academic activities Resources gained: +6 research, +1 for cooperation Looking at some reports, you notice an error that could have potentially been dangerous! You are commended for your correction. +6 researchAfter some finagling and whining, Engrav managed to get a set of SRDPSL blueprints from the library. He spread the precious documents out carefully on his table, and started going over them painstakingly from top to bottom. "If I was an agent... Places to store information might be here, here, and... here. Behind the plants in the break room? That seems too simple, not devious enough for our sneaky spies here. No, there would be a far more insidious solution to moving about the facility. The air ducts?" Thump. Someone dropped what looked like a bunch of gears on his blueprints. Looking up, he saw Caiden gesture towards the parts, glee in his eyes. "Caiden, I'm a little busy right now. This is important, and you're getting in the way, even if that does look... interesting. Wait, give me that for a second." Engrav twisted and pulled the puzzle this way and that, then threw it down in disgust. "Phaw! This is obviously unsolvable! Stupid contraption was just made to frustrate whoever was trying to solve it. Caiden, I don't have time for these distractions, I need to study the... air... ducts."Engrav sat down a moment. The ducts on the blueprints lead a number of places throughout the building, including both the cafeteria and the generator room. And while they wouldn't be large enough to admit any trolls, they could certainly leak exhaust from the generators right into the cafeteria - an almost certainly fatal mistake. Without some kind of filter, there could be some terrible accident. "Caiden... listen. I'll be right back. Don't touch anything." Engrav looked up from the plans and immediately went to tell someone what he had found.

Move this here, climb that there, carry this and don't fall to your death on the way. Not the hardest job in the central hub, but definitely not the easiest either. Engrav took a trip to the armory and checked on the stock any of his agents might be using. No, this wouldn't do. This wouldn't do at all. There were the normal things you'd expect to find at a research facility, at least in terms of what a guard might use, but there was nothing here with any style. Hearing a younger, squeakier voice approach, Leeroi turned around fast, recoiling to make sure he didn't smack the little greenblood with the beam. He flushed a bit when the troll told him to stop. Did he not like it? But he was laughing? He rubbed the back of his neck again, and smiled awkwardly. He didn't think he'd done anything wrong, but he wasn't very good at this sort of thing... Poe sat near the other troll, and put down the blueprints and reports. "Yeah! That sounds like it's a plan, for finding an architect." He smoothed the papers out, running his metal fingers along one of the lines.
"I'm a volunteer too, for the elevator! But I always liked building things, even if I'm not too good. It's useful for uh... things, that make your life easier, and not harder. I thought studying the blueprints and sciency parts of it would be a good idea! This one's for one of the elevator parts." He leaned over, with his head parallel to the table and looked at the blueprint, and then one of the reports. Poe tapped them and clapped his hands. "See! There's a lot here about how it's done, although actually, I think that this one might be an error because that seems like not enough things to build something so big, it would probably fall down? So I guess I should probably report that to our architect too, when we see one!"
He grinned at his companion. "What about you? Do you live in Chittentown? Do you like building?"
