Autumn Smith 25/25, drinking with AlexisWell, she was being toted around now. Alright. At the very least, her devilish good looks and stunning gown made Autumn a rather fashionable accessory, and there were certainly worse things to be. She took the entire thing in stride, a sort of bemused yet weary smile on her face. It fell rather spectacularly upon seeing the Burning Man (SERIOUSLY, ******** THAT GUY), and she pointedly turned to face Alexis and NOT THAT ********, and took her cup.
"To not getting our s**t wrecked," She toasted with her newly-received cup, drinking immediately upon toasting.
"We should go check in with Pax at some point. I saw them on my way in."

Hux Keighley - 25/25 - talking to Rabbit, deciding who to approachHux raised his brows, amused, then chuckled. "Good cop, bad cop? I feel more like the victim, all things considered." He squinted at the beings currently milling about the room. His eyes lingered for a moment on the Burning Man that Rabbit had mentioned, then his gazed moved to the woman in gray. With a nod of his head, he brought the other male's attention to her. There was something... off... about her. Something dangerous and unapproachable. "What about her? She looks like she might know a thing or two about whose blood is supposed to be shed tonight, don't you think?" He figured she'd be as good a start as any, assuming Rabbit agreed.

Chris Watts || 25/25 || Talking to Adoelle, The Burning Man, & The Spinel lady
When he walked into the ivory hall, there was a moment where he didn't seem to know what to say. Even if it was under less than fortunate circumstances, it did look beautiful and Chris was astounded by it. His eyes then trailed over the figures in the hall, only recognizing Pax before he stopped - Adoelle was here. He knew that she was okay, it was something he had been vaguely reassured of, but to actually see her here was something else. He could hear Jeremiah talk about splitting up too and he understood, but well. It was a chance to see her again.
He took another moment to look around, see if there was anyone else he wanted to approach (Pax, Chris decided, would probably be okay. He had become fond of it after realizing that out of everything in Other Ashdown, it was one of the friendliest things) before turning to make his way towards Adoelle and who she was with, coming up behind Jeremiah and Algie.
He waited for a second in the conversation, making sure he wasn't butting in as to not be rude, before he greeted everyone with a pleasant, "Hello." To Adoelle he turned, offering her a bright smile. "Adoelle, it's been awhile. I'm glad to see you're okay."
IloveyouDI3 he'll go be helpful somewhere else in 2 seconds he promises

Alexis Tucker 25/25, drinking with AutumnIt was split-second, almost too quick to notice -- but when Autumn's face darkened upon seeing the Burning Man, Alexis' lip pulled back and they growled, grip on their glass tensing briefly. "To being too drunk to notice if we do get our s**t wrecked," they replied, and downed theirs. "Pax froze me last time, if you don't remember? But fine, fine. Whatever you want." --- Ashton Carver 25/25, speaking to Pax"The sinister survivor," Ashton murmured, mostly to herself. "I'm assuming that's one of the two men over -" and she gestured to Prividaniye and the Sinister Stranger - "there? I wouldn't want to speak to the wrong person entirely, of course." shibrogane didn't roll because it's just an identity question that we ooc know already, tell me if i should fix that!

Isobel Penrose || 25/25 || entering and promptly bumping into SusanThis was amazing - everything that Tibbie had ever thought magic might be. With an added note of looming creepiness, still, because she hadn't forgotten the cats' words; a murder was going to be happening tonight, and it was up to her to stop it. Well, probably not her specifically, otherwise the poor victim was pretty much doomed already. But her and the other humans here - it was all rather scary, and the otherwise gorgeous setting of the party just made it stand out all the more. So, she was trying not to think on it by enjoying the sights; she was floating around the hall, trying to take everything in when she gently collided with another party-goer. "Oh, sorry!" Maybe walking backwards to get a better look really hadn't been the best idea. Sheepishly she turned around, hoping ardently that her victim hadn't been harmed - what was the punishment for injuring a magical creature? Probably something heinous. "Are you alright?"

**Rolling two dice because addressing two people**
---
Zac Bantock – 25/25 – Addressing the Sinister Stranger and Prividaniye.
A prickle ran down his spine when he saw the faces, some more so than others however. The burning man whom had made an offer on his heart, but whom had also forbidden his Father from befriending Sunny, and tried to burn out Autumn’s Lungs. The Deer siblings made him uneasy still, though he knew Autumn had good feelings for Pax at least, ad they seemed to be engaged in pleasant conversations. Adoelle he didn’t know personally, but it seemed others did, and that was part of what held him back for the time being. She, like the one Deer-sibling who did not sport antlers, wore white, which he wondered if it meant that they had come together.
The Spinel Lady was striking, beautiful, and eerie. He thought perhaps he should address her before he moved out of this room.
The Sinister Stranger, well… his gaze kept returning to that one, perhaps In part because he had arrived with… Prividaniye, faceless and eerie his outfit poorly defined as though the man as a whole has become ‘half finished.’
He will absolutely need to speak to the artist, and by extension to the Plague Doctor beside him; otherwise he’d be rather rude. The feeling he was being laughed at didn’t help, less so when he was wearing this costume of all things.
Who would it be most polite to address first?
Did it matter? He –should be polite- but for now he approached the strange faceless man and his Plague Doctor companion with a last brush against his ‘Father’s’ arm.
He approached them and did something between a Bow and a curtsy, which fit the cut of his current clothes. "I'm sorry if I'm interrupting, I... wanted to express my admiration to, to Mister Prividaniye for that art of his which I've had the privilege of seeing. It's a pleasure to make acquaintance of you both. I'd love to speak with you about it, if that wouldn't be trouble to either of you."

Susan Greer - 25/25 - talking to Isobel"O- oh!" Susan had been in the middle of clicking pics of the buffet table when she was bumped forward. Her camera dropped from her hands, directly into a bowl of what she assumed was pudding despite it's odd ability to constantly change color. "Oh noooo!" She frowned and quickly plucked it out of the shimmering sludge, doing her best to wipe it off with the napkins that were- thankfully- available. "I'm fine." She said to the woman that had bumped her, turning to face her with camera in hand. "I won't know if this is fine 'til later but... I think it'll be okay..." She fidgeted nervously. "Are you, um- from here?" She looked normal, but Susan assumed this was the sort of place where anything goes. Including normalcy.

Jamie Delacroix | 25/25 | approaching The Prideful OneThis sort of scene was so far out of Jamie's league it was laughable. Holding the long, trailing tail of his awkward, lacy coat, he tried not to stumble into anyone. Where was he even supposed to begin? Would approaching someone more knowledgeable and asking them how he could help be more beneficial? Detective Mercer, perhaps? Surely he was here...
As he looked around, it was difficult for Jamie not to notice the tall, imposing figures of the deer triplets, and while there was no apparent rhyme or reason at first for the urge to approach, something called Jamie to speak to the golden-draped stag, to thank him. It was a different time and a different appearance, but he was most certainly familiar, and the words tumbled out of Jamie's mouth before he could fully comprehend his own choice to speak.
"Excuse me...? Thank you, um, for your help before..." he said, ever-nervous and aware of those who had already spoken to the Prideful One. He was interrupting. Still, he felt he had to. Whether the Prideful One would even remember helping Jamie and the others on the night they'd first become animals would remain to be seen.

[25/25 | EVE]: following Jamie to Pridey The flickering silhouette of the burning man caught Eve's attention, and the rush of mixed feelings from their last encounter did well to make her ultimately keep her distance. Instead, she trailed along behind Jamie, who had noticed a much more interesting party guest -- the elusive Prideful One. Settling behind the young man, she gave a respective nod towards the stag while he spoke. [25/25 | LEILA]: sticking with the wifeAlso Leila was there.

wil azevedo || 25/25 || entering hall Wil looked up and around with a dumb looking sort of gape as they entered the hall. It was probably the fanciest place he'd ever been. There were dancers and the supernatural beings all looked... pretty awesome. It was a bit hard to be worried with such a glamorous and energetic environment. He noticed people moving off in different directions around them. He scanned for the pair they came with and noticed the detective and professor at a table with a man on fire. Well okay then. "There's other rooms I think.." He motioned to doorways, "Maybe there's somewhere less crowded. You want to explore?" Wil smiled slowly at Nasir.

Lily Babineaux: 25/25 - Attempting to chat up the Spinel Lady Where Lily had been silently awed upon entry at the gates, she allowed herself a healthy veil of stoicism as she entered the main hall, hiding in comfort behind the aesthetically-pleasing crumbles of her ivory-white mask. Some figures she recognized, whether by the clue of a familiar curve of horns or the choking smell of burning that singed her nostrils. Both the Prideful One and what she estimated was their fiery assistant on the first full moon seemed occupied by other guests, so she looked instead for the unfamiliar and the strange, pulling her shoulders down and lifting her chin to make herself look as tall and elegant as possible. It felt dirty, pulling on her mother's training to look artful, but in the absence of other meaningful social skills it was what she had. She didn't have to be a person here, just a cold and lovely work of art. She found inspiration in the severe lady in grey, drawn to how effortless she made it look to be quite so dour. The woman's black and red mask worked as an interesting parallel to the red and black feathered gown Lily had been bequeathed, and that felt symbolic enough to start a conversation. She moved slowly but with purpose towards the table, making effort to both ensure her movements looked fluid and effortless when mingled in among the crowd. As a child, Lily had been a gymnast, a pageant contestant, lined up for modeling if not for her nose and her shoulders. This was not too different a performance. "It's lovely, all this," Lily began, in a voice that tasted like cough syrup, thick and saccharine. She focused on her act, of trying to be demure and vapid and naively pretty. "It's weird to think that there's a tithe promised later. Do you know anything about the intended offering?" It was a rusty delivery, obtuse perhaps, but it was hard not to feel jittery in the presence of someone who felt like a knife at the throat.

nasir vasile || 25/25 || with wil entering the hall Nasir's expression remained partially shrouded, his eyes taking in everything slowly. It was- This was- "Amazing." There was nothing that was not some kind of feast for the eyes, even if there looked to be a man on fire and people who had animal traits and- It was a lot to look at, it really was. His attention turned back to Wil when he spoke and Nasir was nodding. "I wouldn't mind that ..." he looked to the crowded hall where everyone was already conversing it seemed. "Just to get away from the crowd for a little bit ..." As friendly as he was, sometimes this many people was a little overwhelming. Also they were supposed to look for that hookah room.

Alexander Thorne (Unmasked) | | 25/25 | | Having a panic attack. Alexander Thorne (Masked) | | 25/25 | | Was making fun of unmasked Thorne, now he's looking for wine.
A number of strange things were destined to happen at strange parties, particularly ones that ended with a tithe. In fairytales, nothing ever began with peace or quiet, or a sense or security, and even if they did, surely, they never ended that way. Not really. Fairytales were gory, fear-hungry things and they festered with the horrors of bodies gone wrong and dangerous things.
Fairytales were where apples were poisoned and young maidens went to die and things appeared in two.
Two.
"You're having a panic attack," Thorne said.
The man wore a mask that covered only half of his smirking face. It was ornamental to say the least, nothing but crimsons and streaking sapphire, rabbit like ears sticking straight from the top of it and tipped in jingling slivers of gold. The slits where he was meant to see out through were four instead of two, and a thin veil of black made it impossible to see the mirth in his wild eyes. He radiated pleasure, a slippery and dangerous sort of presence that gave him away as something to be feared for the four piercings that decorated his ear and the fresh tattoo on his neck, uncovered. His outfit was nothing but a vest that cut away from the entirety of his bared chest, tapered by a sash and skin-craving pants the color of midnight. A furred half cape rested on his left shoulder, the coarse furs rubbed by his nose as he hid a laugh in the thick fold. The fabric of it cascaded over his arm, the same midnight coloring as the rest of his outfit. He was thoroughly suited for the night. A proper fairytale villain in a proper setting to steal a show.
Beside him, the other Thorne, unmasked, tried to breathe.
To an untrained eye, this was not a panic attack, but a man with a disdain of the outside world. His mouth was pulled back into the barest formation of a snarl, spine ram-rod straight, one arm bent behind his back and pressed against the small of it. Things that came in two often came as opposites of one another, and while the masked Thorne presented a wolf in sheeps clothing, this Thorne looked like a wolf chained and made pretty for a show. The outfit he wore was nothing but an ornamental vest strained against his bare chest, buckled at the apex of his stomach by a golden, twisting band. A sash of brighter blue rested on his hip above pants cut to show the dangerous edge of his hip bones.
Three months ago, he would have loathed it entirely, straight down to the part where his hair was styled and not simply a favorable mess. Now, it was static in the back of his mind, barely remembered. As soon as the masked Thorne had come to him, it had disappeared all together, a throwaway thought.
"I hate you," the unmasked Thorne said, flatly.
There was a thick roll of laughter from the masked companion.
"Now, now," the masked Thorne said, "You've been taught better than that."
"Perhaps," was the snide remark, "But I'd rather not waste the effort on you."
"You don't even know me."
The unmasked Thorne did not bother to respond, and threw a glare towards the masked one before stalking away into the crowd, ignoring the mocking, "Aw, babe," that followed him. Nearly the minute he'd stepped foot in the Ivory Hall, he'd been accosted by the mirror image of himself, and he was already sour enough from lack of structure in this infernal place that he was wired to go off at the slightest touch.
It was worse with the amount of people here that looked familiar, strikingly even. His senses felt rubbed raw by the noise, the clatter of wine glasses, the low rumble of conversation, boots and shoes and high heels clicking and slamming and ricocheting off of the floor. His heart tightened in his chest at the continued scratch of sound, sight, touch, smell -
And his ******** clone twin was right. He was going to have a panic attack, right here, right now, in this hall.
And then she was going to ******** murder him.
There was a snare of blond in the corner of his eye - a man that looked familiar, too familiar, and his progress through the crowd to a quiet corner, a small space, a shadow or somewhere to watch from, halted. His stare was wild, bright and zeroed in like a starved animal to a piece of meat. There was a taste in his mouth, nauseatingly sweet, and a distant pulse in the back of his neck like a ghosting headache. The memory of sleep deprivation and laughter.
I'm dead, Thorne thought.
His heart set into a new, dangerous rhythm on the verge of making him hyperventilate.
Yeah. She was definitely going to murder him tonight. PeanutButterPies you've been spotted oh s**t ivory hall peeps hello from the other side whats up / / / / / / / "Aw, babe," The masked Thorne had called after his twin, but the lack of response made him sigh, leaning back on his heels and twisting his head to observe the rest of the room. The warm pulse of recent piercings still made him touch them every now and then as he backtracked into the thick of the crowd in the opposite direction, idling around until he found a glass of something that looked like wine.
The slow and undulating movement of the people around him, like the waves of a summer-slow sea, felt like a lullaby against his skin. It made him itch, crave, sigh, and shuffle, restless for something to do. His fingers pulsed, fluttering against the flute of his glass of wine, and the cape shifted as he leaned back into one of the corners, observing beneath the ivory and gesso of his mask, the jangling rabbit ears catching and shifting the light with golden snatches every now and then. It seemed most of the crowd was orbiting the tables with either the three (one of them on fire, yikes,) or the triplets, helpless like moons caught in the pull of something bigger, something greater, something more terrifying.
"Hm," The masked Thorne hummed, a soft bite of sound, and stilled the drumming of his fingers, and adjusted his mask.
This was a waiting game, and he knew already that he would lose. But that didn't mean he couldn't linger for a little while, and see if any moths came to his flame. Ivory Hall WHAT UP come and bother this a*****e if u want he is literally getting wine-drunk and restless

Chris Watts || 25/25 || Finding his way to Thorne
It would have been a flat out lie for Chris to say he wasn't uncomfortable in this place. He had been uncomfortable from the moment the invitation arrived, the discomfort had increased when he learned there was a damn tithe about to happen that involved human sacrifice, and it was safe to say that it was at a pretty steady level of high and was going to stay there due to everything he could see. It didn't matter there were pretty decorations or free food, nothing was quite going to make an evening uncomfortable like the sight of a man, quite literally on fire in front of you. Chris would have liked to say he was used to Other Ashdown, but well, he obviously would have to rescind that idea and come back to it later. Maybe with a long conversation with Jeremiah and Alg, since they always seemed to know what was up (the delicious tea was a bonus, as were the cats).
Regardless, it was because he was so uneasy with literally everything that he didn't entirely register a sort of strange sense that something off was being directed at him. Everything in the situation was rather strange, from the guests to the food that he was just trying to ignore it all and focus on what was in front of him. But the sensation didn't exactly go away and finally, Chris made himself turn and search out what was bothering him. Blue eyes searched through the room, finally landing on the crowd, and it took him a minute to finally find what he was searching for.
Thorne, in the midst of the crowd, and oddly enough unmasked. Chris blinked at him, the stare intense and almost unsettling and - he needed to go talk to him.
"Uh, Excuse me," He said blindly to Adoelle, moving away from the trio he had begun to talk to and starting to push his way through the crowd. It wouldn't take him long to find Thorne again, not with his height and not with the stare that he had been given. Intense, too bright, it was a wonder that Chris had ignored it for so long before finally turning. Had it been any other place, he would've felt it immediately, would've turned and found Thorne sooner. Now he just hoped that Thorne hadn't been waiting for too long.
"Hey," Chris said, finally getting to Thorne. His eyes drifted over the other's outfit, the expanse of skin he could see, and a blush crept over his cheeks. He just hoped the mask would hide it, lest Thorne would spot it and tease, although it seemed unlikely. Whatever had happened, he would guess that Thorne wasn't having a good night. Something about him seemed tense. "Sorry I didn't see you earlier. Would've come faster if I knew," He offered, trying a small smile.

Alexander Thorne (Unmasked) | | 25/25 | | Talking to Chris
The room around Thorne was a hiss and crackle of a sound. A blurred landscape conquered by people in gaudy ball attire, all of them on the edge of his understanding. He was aware, had been aware, in some caved in part of his mind, that he wasn't processing any of this correctly. Hadn't been for months now. Sometimes, the dissociation would break long enough for him to misstep, to gather more bruises, learn another lesson, treat another wound. Sometimes he wondered when it would stop. He'd traced the parts of him that were prone to bringing down wrath with his fingers in the hollowed out spaces between schedule. He knew everything that erred on the side of dangerous. Do not touch. This will hurt. Every warning sign, soft or striking in appearance.
The blond in front of him was a siren screaming.
Something thick radiated up Thorne's spine. Trepidation. Fear. Confusion. Longing, almost. A husky breath of hope, like teeth against his skin, a bite that could come to hurt.
His head tilted downward, his exposed skin a map of tattoos, scars, histories. It heaved with a shallow breath, once, twice, three times. China shattered, two wine glasses came together. Boots scuffed the floor. Heels clicked. A woman laughed. Another. Another. Everything rubbed up against his attention, violent in its assault. His hands felt restless. He felt unmade. There was no time here except the stars up above and the night winding through the sky. No time, no schedule.
He felt unmade.
"You didn't have to at all," Thorne responded. His voice felt distant in his own ears, breathy and uneasy, tense with the death throes of panic. He wasn't processing this correctly. From one angle, he was right here. From another, he was standing in the shadows, smelling the wine of his twin, watching the glittering points of the rabbit mask. From a third: he was not there at all.
Against his own volition, his hand raised, and he thumbed it across the side of Chris's mask and caught the edge of Chris's warming cheek and jaw before dropping away. The feel of it cemented him. For a second, the three screens flickered and he was in one place. And then:
"Why are you here?"
It's dangerous, he didn't say out loud, though Chris could hear the implication, the echo. You should know to run. PeanutButterPies sleep is for the weak, i say, dead on the inside
