He quickly sent the pictures to Rhys's phone. He was a little surprised at her requesting they use the trickster, but it made sense. Even if the mind reader could read his thoughts, his specialty was confusing and trapping people in thoughts. Plus he didn't know Craith was the real leader, so there was no chance of that information slipping. "I don't see why not, so the four of you will handle it and if you need any help you can always call in more people."
He make a small sound of surprise when suddenly there was a hedgehog in his face. How did I not notice that before? It took him a moment to stop staring at it and look back up at Rhys. "Why is there a hedgehog in my apartment?" He asked, as he went into the kitchen to get a small bowl of water. Why would she even have a hedgehog? He comes back and hands her the bowl, only for her to tell him he looks dead. "Rude," he said, but went to go sit down anyway. He was getting light headed again.
He barely heard Trez speak, was glad he did. A part of him felt bad that he was glad Trez felt bad about the situation. It was reassuring in a way. The fact that Trez was sorry meant that he still cared and didn't just abandoned them. Which was something Taiki had been worried about. Not to mention the fact that he also hadn't known if he had left on his own or if someone took him. He had enough people he cared about die and didn't need anymore. With that in mind, he still didn't like seeing his friend upset. He got up and walked over to him, grabbing the blanket on the couch. Carefully he wrapped him up in it and sat down next to him. "We missed you too. It'll be fine, we'll sort everything out later so don't worry about it. We're just glad you're back."

► Rhys grunted in agreement and appreciation and gave Taiki a small bow. Then she stared at him, unsure of what to say for a moment. It was understandable that he wouldn't know who this was. No one would. And it'd been hidden in her hands. "It's the trickster," she explained, looking exasperated. Rhys took the water and sighed, waiting for Mithllo to wake up. This night was ride and she wanted to get off of it. The apology Trez gave sounded genuine and watery, and it would have tugged at most people's heartstrings, but Rhys wasn't sure she wanted to admit any relief to his being back. It made work for her, and with a new second in command she wasn't even sure what position to put him in. Unless Taiki was interested in having a partner, who would work as a second in command for the second in command, just to hide Craith's cover even better. But after hearing Taiki's words she knew it'd be a d**k move not to say something.
Rhys sighed through he nose and walked over to rest her free hand gently on Trez' good shoulder. "Glad you're safe," she said, patting him gently. "I think I know how to get your status back," she mumbled near his ear. It'd have to be established and approved, but it could work. Craith would just have to do a lot of grunt work to make it seem believable. Which would be incredibly fun.

He had to admit, the hedgehog had slipped past him. But now that he had done a double take, he saw that, indeed, Rhys had a small creature sleeping in her arms. The momentary confusion washed away when Rhys said it was the Trickster, and it suddenly somehow made sense. "It would be." he mumbled to himself, rolling his eyes.
He hadn't expected the two to react to his words. He hadn't said them for sympathy, he just wanted them to know he was serious. They were like his family, and he knew firsthand not to depreciate that.
When Taiki wrapped the blanket around him and sat next to him, he realized he had been shivering, just slightly. He smiled to the male, and was surprised once more when Rhys put a hand on his shoulder, in as close to a comforting gesture as she would probably ever get. 'They don't hate me. Thank goodness.'
"I don't think I really have room to be worried about status, Rhys, but thank you. It'll happen when it happens. Whatever it is, anyways." he smiled, and turned back to Taiki.
"And thank you, for bringing me in. I honestly didn't even realize I was back in the city. I was too concerned with the fish-stars swimming around in the sky."

He felt like he should have been more surprised to learn that the hedgehog was in fact their Trickster, but honestly he didn't care enough to question it. "Of course it is," he muttered, leaning back into the couch. He would have to be careful not to fall asleep sitting up. He barely heard Rhys come over and say something to Trez, but he was drifting and didn't catch a lot of it. Mostly just something about status. Maybe his status in the gang? I don't think he knows I have his job now. That's going to be a fun conversation, he thought.
He hadn't realized his eyes closed, till he had to open them when he felt Trez shift next to him. It was a good thing he did, cause he was now looking at him. Hope he didn't notice me dozing off, he thought. It took him a moment to process what he had said to him. Fish-stars? Swimming in the sky? He gave him a confused look. "How much were you drinking?" he didn't expect a real answer. He figured it was something along the lines of enough to not remember a majority of the last two weeks. "It's a good thing I found you if you didn't even realize you were back home. And don't worry about staying here tonight. You're here so I don't have to have an extra freak out in the morning running over to your place to make sure you didn't disappear again."
The longer he sat the more it sank in how exhausted he was. He needed to go to bed soon or he wasn't going to be leaving this couch on his own. I don't think Trez would carry me either. He forced himself to sit up and look at Rhys. If he was going to go to bed then it was probably better to send her home. He didn't have any place for her to sleep and she had a Trickster to take care of. "Unless you have something that needs to be addressed now, you should probably head home and deal with your trickster hedgehog. I'll text you when I get up tomorrow and figure out where Craith is and when he will be getting back." Unless he slept in till Craith barged into his apartment demanding to know where Trez was, but that was a problem for his morning self to deal with.

► Rhys stood next to the couch, listening in on their conversation with Hedgehog and water in hand. She was waiting to be dismissed at this point, seeing as she watch Taiki slowly fall asleep sitting upright. Once Taiki gave the order Rhys walked out the door, giving him a sort-of wave with the hand that held the water. "Bye," she said in the most dry way possible, closing the door gently behind her. From there Rhys drove to her parking spot at the raging dragon and went off to her room with Mithllo in order to rest as well. It wasn't as prevalent as Taiki, but she was exhausted as well.

"I was drinking a lot. I would love to say I won't drink that much ever again, I really would, but I don't like lying." He looked down at the floor, realizing for the millionth time that his wet vacation had caused his friends a lot of heartache. "I don't think I'll be leaving the city again for a long time. It sucks out there." He couldn't help the snort of laughter at Rhys' reaction to being told to hit the bricks. It was just so.... Rhys. "Have a good night, Sunshine." he called out as she closed the door.
He nudged Taiki gently, and pointed toward the bedroom. "Go to bed, Starshine. You look about as washed out as I feel." he chuckled, softly, pulling the blanket tighter around himself.

Taiki heard Trez respond to him, but his brain barely processed what was said. So, he just nodded. He was glad Rhys wasn't on to linger as she left as soon as he gave her the okay. Though he still needed to get up and lock the door. I should have asked her to do it. Oh well, he thought.
He was trying to convince himself that five more minutes on the couch would not help him find the will to get up and lock the door when he felt a nudge in his side. He turned to see Trez pointing in the direction of his room. Did he just call me starshine? What the hell, he thought, nodding. It took a moment, but he got up and headed to the door locking it. He made sure the lights were off, he'd leave the lamp by the couch for Trez to turn off when he was ready.
"I'd say if you need anything let me know, but once I am asleep I'm not getting back up. So, goodnight." He walked to his room, not bothering with turning on the lights as he plugged in his phone. It didn't take him long to start drifting off after he laid down, even without his comforter and half his pillows missing. Not even five minutes passed before he was completely out cold.

Trez was glad Taiki was going to bed, but not about losing his presence on the couch with him. He had gone much of the past two weeks without much human contact, besides that of telling the bartender to leave the bottle at the table. But he reminded himself that he was home now, and he could go out at any moment and interact with any number of people. He wouldn't be alone here, as long as he didn't want to be.
He watched the male lock the door, and nodded at his comment. "Don't worry, I won't need anything but sleep. Goodnight, Boobear." He winked at him, trademark grin plastered on his face.
Once he was gone, he scooted over to the corner of the couch, and curled his legs up underneath him. Once he was in comfortable in a tight ball under the large blanket, he reached up to turn off the lamp.
The small apartment was plunged into shadow, and he sighed in relief. His head was still pounding, his body ached, and he was so cold. To combat all symptoms, he pulled the blanket over his head, so he was completely hidden underneath it, and closed his eyes.
It didn't take long for sleep to find him, and for the first time since his departure from the city, his dreams were soft, and pleasant.

He jolted up with a gasp, tears in his eyes. It was that dream again. He wiped his eyes and took a few deep shuddering breaths. The dream was already starting to fade from his mind, not that he didn’t know what happened in it. He had it often enough to know by this point. Stupid stress and bad memories, he thought. Sighing, he got up and grabbed his phone. He groaned when he saw that it was only five in the morning. That’s what, three hours of sleep? He flipped on the light in his room and headed out into the living room. He knew that it would be awhile before he could go back to sleep. He just hoped he could get a few more hours before everyone swarmed his apartment again.
Carefully, Taiki walked around the living room, at first he thought Trez had left, till he realized he was curled up in the mound of blankets. How he could stand to sleep like that Taiki would never understand. He wandered around the apartment for a bit, not sure what to do now that he was awake. It didn’t take him long to discover Trez’s awful smelling clothes. He quickly threw them in the wash and febreezed his bathroom. It wouldn’t surprise him if they needed to be washed twice. Might as well wait for them if I can’t sleep anyway, he thought, walking into the kitchen.
He didn’t want to make anything with caffeine, just in case he did get a chance to go to sleep again. “Thank god for peppermint tea and it’s caffeine free-ness,” he muttered to himself. He leaned against the counter while his water heated up.
“Today is going to suck,” he said quietly. The last two weeks sucked honestly. There was the constant worry about his friend and dealing with his other friends worrying. He felt like he had no time to adjust to anything and he was still not going to get that time. Even with Trez back, they still had to go searching for Craith’s mystery mind reader and he still had to catch up with being second in command. I wonder if Craith will care if Trez helps with that. Would Trez even be willing? It’s not like he knows I’m second in command now.
The microwave beeping halted his train of thought. He winced at how hot the mug had gotten and quickly set it down on the counter. Though it didn’t quite make it to the counter. “s**t!” The mug shattered on the floor and the hot water splashed across his feet. He quickly slapped his hand over his mouth. He hoped that wasn’t as loud as it sounded. Groaning, he knelt down and started picking up the pieces of ceramic out of the water.

Trez never told anyone about his dreams. Not even the good ones. If he was ever questioned about them, he would simply say that he didn't dream at all. He felt that they were very private experiences, and he really didn't want anyone trying to pick him apart from the subconscious out.
This one was a new one, but it was definitely of the happy variety. He was in the woods, and the air was warm. It was obviously summer. He was just walking through between the trees, looking for the path that had seemed to disappear from beneath his feet. He heard birds and squirrels up in the trees, bugs flew past him, a snake disappeared under a bush. It was so serene, so peaceful. Nothing but him and the sounds of wildlife-
That was until, of course, his heart jumped out of his chest. The sound of breaking glass had him awake, and on high alert. The air around him plummeted in temperature, ice frosted his hands, and his eyes searched the darkness for the source of the sound. They found no threat, instead focusing slowly on... Taiki.
He let out the breath he hadn't realized he had been holding, watching as the male knelt down, picking up something from the floor. His eyes could just barely make out the large spill, and the steam coming off of it. He pushed off the couch, and made his way to the kitchen, snagging a hand towel off the counter.
He tapped Taiki's head, once, and laughed a bit. "Well... good morning to you, too. Fancy alarm clock you've got there." He said, before crouching down, to help soak up the spill.

The sudden tap on his head startled him, he hadn't noticed that Trez was awake. "Good morning for you maybe." He muttered. "I thought you could sleep through anything." He watched him wipe up the water. He had gotten most of the broken pieces and there wasn't a whole lot of small shards. "Thanks, you didn't have to help. Or get up." He got up and threw the broken pieces away.
Taiki grabbed another mug and started to heat up more water. While he waited he look over at Trez. "Can I ask why you sleep curl up in a ball? You can stretch across the whole couch, I promise." This time when his water was ready he was careful about getting it out. The amount of sugar he put in his tea, probably negated the purpose of going for a caffeine free option, but it was one of those days, or it was looking like it was going to be.
"Did you want something or are you planning on going back to bed?" He asked, motioning to his tea.

"Usually, I can sleep through anything. I must have been close to waking up anyways." Which was true. He was known for his ability to sleep like the dead. But given he was sleeping in an odd place, cold, and with a pounding headache, he probably wasn't sleeping as deep as he should have been. "Really, it's no problem. I was awake anyways, and I don't mind helping."
When he finished wiping up the water, he rung the hand towel out in the sink, folding it carefully over the faucet. "Sleeping in a ball keeps me warm. Side effects." he said, holding his hand up to show Taiki the faint traces of frost that still lingered on his knuckles.
He leaned against the counter as the other started another mug of water. He smiled softly at the amount of sugar that went into the cup. "Easy there, cupcake, you'll be bouncing off the ceiling."
The thought of a hot beverage was initially appealing, but his stomach rolled at the thought. "Uh, no. I'm good. I don't want to trouble you anymore than I already have."

Taiki didn't think anyone could be close to waking up after only three hours of sleep, but Trez might have actually gotten more sleep while he was away. Unlike the lack of sleep he has had over the last two weeks. He would need a day off to catch up on that.
His reasoning behind curling up actually made sense, which was kind of surprising. He wasn't expecting that. He also thought his cold resistance would help out more with that, but apparently not. "Ah, I just have one of those heating pad beds, though it doesn't do that good of a job without a blanket." Which he found out tonight. At least he didn't wake up freezing.
He scoffed at the comment about his tea. "One, tea is only good when sweat. Two, there is not enough sugar and caffeine in my apartment to make me bounce off anything right now." Probably an exaggeration, but he was tried and caffeine didn't make him bounce around anyway. He was more oddly focused than anything, but it still took a lot to get to that point.
He shrugged at Trez's response. "You know where things are if you change your mind. And would you stop worrying about troubling me? You're not going to make me do anything I don't want to and its not like making food or getting you something to drink is difficult."

Trez watched the male carefully, tilting his head a bit. It had just occurred to him that the male had been exhausted, more than ready to be in bed, and yet here he was. Wide awake and tossing around dishes. "Damn. I was really look forward to a game of leapfrog." he teased, smiling softly. “And sorry about stealing your blanket. I’ll head home in the morning, so you’ll have it back.”
He pushed away from the counter, heading back to the couch. “Well, I’m somewhat of a picky eater. Despite my drinking habits, I have a very… health conscious diet. So, I don’t usually like asking people to put up with that. But as you said, I can always get up to get something if I really need to. And I do thank you for that, on top of all the other hospitality you’ve extended tonight.” He curled in on himself again, but sitting up this time, and began rubbing his hands together to warm them.
“What about you, sleepyhead? What are you doing awake?”

Taiki let Trez talk while he finished his tea. A brief look of confusion crossed his face at the leap frog comment, but it quickly disappeared with what was said next. What did I just say? Quickly, he finished his tea, but Trez was already leaving the kitchen. He set his cup down in the sink and followed.
He had to hold back a scoff at the drinking habit comment. He knew Trez didn't like to talk about his eating habits much. Though they didn't bother Taiki at all, but there wasn't any point forcing the subject. He opened his mouth to say something, but the sudden subject change derailed his train of thought.
"Uhh, nightmares. It's fine though." There was a moment where he considered not telling him, but it wasn't like he didn't have nightmares too. He just didn't want him to worry. "I'll either go back to sleep before Craith gets back or take a nap later today. It doesn't matter."
It took him a moment to remember what he was going to say originally. "Anyway, what did I say about troubling me? You didn't steal my blanket, I let you use it. That fact that I can't remember where my spare ones is my problem not yours. And I wouldn't consider this hospitality, more like...I'm giving you a small reprieve before the s**t hits the fan. Which will be as soon as Craith gets his a** back here," he said, smirking. "So," He sat down on the couch and grabbed some of the blanket for himself. "Enjoy it while you can."
