The second rush went no better, she found, as wings seemed to leave a few paper-cut type scratches against her cheek. She ducked down low, before looking over at Tom, who also seemed to be getting the short end of the stick. They'll have to try again, she thought, eyes narrowed. There was no way she'd let birds get the best of her. Marisol's Health: 44 - 3 = 41 HP

Okay, what exactly was the point of weapons again? He felt he should have taken the shield at this point. At least his face wouldn’t be full of light nicks that would be itching like crazy as they healed. This try for more rescues wasn’t going so well, but they had to try! HP: 41 – 3 = 38 Weapon: Bow

The third time was the charm as she was able to knock down an attacking bird with her whip. With a quick look towards Tom, she waved him forward. They had to move now to get back the swarm. Marisol's Health: 41 HP

Part 2 Tom saw that Marisol had been able to get through the swarm of birds, however he didn’t have as much luck. Although he had followed behind her, the birds’ attention was focused on them and they would have to work quickly if they wanted to find anyone else. HP: 38 – 3 = 35 Weapon: Bow

Once past the break, Marisol began to scan the area. There was a flash of color near what looked like an old fallen tree. Sprinting towards it, she found a man cowering to avoid drawing attention from the sky. "Tom, over here!" she waved towards him before she looked at the other man. "We're going to lead you back to the hotel, okay?" Marisol's Health: 41 HP

Part 3 Tom tried to follow her but unfortunately the birds were attacking hard this time and he was unable to avoid them and was forced back to where he had been just outside of the resort looking for survivors. HP: 35 – 3 = 32 Weapon: Bow anemosagkelos Well, looks like we’re back to part 2 XP

A group of birds headed their way and Marisol could do nothing as the man yelled, turned and ran. She tried to call after him but it made no difference and once the birds started in on her, she had her own issues to worry about. She threw herself on the ground and crawled away, before joining Tom. Marisol's Health: 41 - 3 = 38 HP

Part 2 Unfortunately Tom was pushed back even more as the birds had started to add more to their numbers and to their attack. He understood the man running away. At least he wouldn’t get attacked by the birds… probably. It seemed that the birds had gotten angry at the two for rescuing what may have been their lunches but he wasn’t sure. He didn’t really know monster bird psychology. HP: 32 – 3 = 29 Weapon: Bow

Marisol frowned; wondering if it was worth continuing at this rate. They were already nearly back at the hotel, past the swarm of birds that they'd once more have to overcome. "One more try, after that, I don't know if we can take much more of these birds," she warned. Marisol's Health: 38 - 3 = 35 HP

Part 1 Tom sighed, regretting that he might not be able to save more. However they could only do so much against these creatures and them being seriously hurt would help no one. And they were being pushed back to the hotel. “All right, one more try then. But after that, I think we’ll have to try to help those inside.” HP: 29 – 3 = 26 Weapon: Bow

"We're doing our best, that has to be enough," she tried. She knew it wasn't reassuring nor was it helpful. It was however the truth. And she knew more Chosen would be attempting to rescue people. With that, she charged forward. They had to get through this time. Marisol's Health: 35 HP

Part 2 They had made it had barely made it through, but Tom was definitely starting to feel the pain from all of the attacks. And it made it hard to see whether anyone was still out there that they could get to quickly. HP: 26 – 3 = 23 Weapon: Bow anemosagkelos Actually I was just totally going to abandon it. Kidding XP If we don’t get anyone/through this time, let’s call it quits.

As soon as it seemed they were safe, the birds launched what Marisol could only deem a surprise attack. Afraid Tom would try to fight them, she rushed to grab a hold of his arm. She didn't want to give up but they'd already rescued two people, that was good enough. And he was going to get himself killed if he continued without resting. "Come on, we need to stop and take care of ourselves before we end up missing," she told him as she dragged him inside the hotel. Behind her she slammed the door and leaned against it. She hoped he wasn't going to fight her on this; she'd have no choice but to follow. Marisol's Health: 35 - 3 = 32 HP

Tom suddenly felt himself being dragged back towards the resort, surprised that Marisol could drag him so easily. He was glad she took the initiative though, otherwise he might have tried until he collapsed. Once they were finally inside he let out a sigh of relief, though he couldn’t help the feeling in his stomach that they could have done more. It was, unfortunately, a familiar feeling for him. After taking a little bit to catch his breath he smiled at Marisol. “Thanks for dragging me back and thanks for the help. I wish we could have done more, but we should probably concentrate on helping those inside now.” He said as he looked over at those within the resort, unfortunately seeing many injuries. “Hope I can work with you again sometime.” Saved: 4 anemosagkelos Yeah I'm sorry, I should have replied earlier though. Sorry if I sounded snappy. sweatdrop And we also got two successful runs in with two people each, so we can at least get some extra experience XD Thanks so much for the rp!

"You can do more here right now," she added, motioning towards the people they had found who could use the eye of a doctor to make sure they weren't suffering from frostbite or hypothermia or any number of things. "There's always use for a doctor, Tom, I'm sure I'll be seeing you soon," she smiled before heading off. It was time to explore the kitchen to find out what there might be to eat. SSBrosB You didn't sound snappy. Since we can only claim XP once for this prompt, I think it's still just 10 xp but we got to save more people!
