An appreciative smile crossed her face, for any number of reasons - for the fact that his hands were warm, capable, quite unlike Donald's; for the fact that she felt much more enlightened than she had been when she'd walked in the door; for the fact that he seemed hopeful in the face of terrible odds. Ves could appreciate all of that.
