Aue's worth in Labyrinthite's eyes was reinforced with the way the General reacted to his body's rejection of the starseed; it was nothing surprising or unexpected, it was simply a testament to how Quartz had spoken true...and how Aue must continue to prove worth. That was fine, he was smart enough to handle such a thing. "Convenient, for you." And he meant it, it would be handy to be able to heal by ingesting a star seed or energy orb - that was definitely a plus to being part of the Negaverse. As far as Aue was aware, the Order side had nothing of the sort, which put them at a distinct disadvantage. "A very useful tool, for the Negaverse. I don't believe the Order side has anything remotely like that. I am pleased to have been useful to you, General." His mouth held a bitter taste, like blood and ash, that would not go away. Was it the same for those touched by Chaos? Was it a different flavor altogether? Aue wisely did not ask.

While he did not voice it, he was grateful that his test subject did not perish from the consumption. If he had thought such a thing would have been a result, he would have forced one down the throat of an unwilling subject. But, like feeding Silk a starseed, it proved more useful to test such a thing among the 'loyal' and willing.
"It proves ineffective with the cats." A bit of throwaway information, in case the senshi had been curious on who or what he might have tested theories on. "But, knowing that it has ill-effect with you and your kind at least informs us that even in dire situations, we cannot aid you the way we can aid our own."
Our own was a loosely used term, meant to encompass the negaverse as a whole. "With that in mind, if it comes down to it, I will do my best to ensure you do not retain an injury that may prove problematic." Of course this was only in the event he was around to prevent such a thing. Still, he took care of his when he was able. Or tried.
"They have seen us consume them before or the orbs we collect, but I don't believe they understand what they provide for us." He couldn't know for certain. In most cases his interactions with the white moon were combat oriented, it was only with this future corrupt that he took the time to talk and explain.
"What else do you have to report for me?"

Labyrinthite threw out a tidbit about the starseeds being ineffectual with the Mauvians as well and Aue tucked that information away for the future - such things may have been trivial or useless for the General, but for him it may be worth knowing, someday. If the senshi were surprised to hear that the whiskey-eyed General meant to offer some sort of protection, he did well only showing the same largely impassive face he preferred to wear. Showing surprise would only speak ill of his thoughts about the hierarchy, which was a touchy thing when he was still learning to navigate it himself - no, Aue felt it best to simply school his expression impassive and accepting. "Thank you, General. Your efforts are appreciated. I will do my best to not require Pack intervention." After all, one didn't wish to make one's ranking officers work to keep them alive, it was his own duty to see that he caused as little trouble for his Pack as humanly possible. More information, tucked away. More information, requested - what did he have to report? Not much, though he had met Quartz...who had warned him against getting involved with the Negaverse. Was that something to inform on? Possibly, possibly not. How militant was the Chaos faction? "I have only one other article of possible interest. I met another of your agents, a captain by the callsign 'Quartz'. He encouraged caution when dealing with the Negaverse as an 'outsider' and gave warning to not rely on any officer's name. I found him intelligent and insightful, if jaded. He is not part of the Pack, as I understand."

Aue received a nod in response to his thanks, because there were no words left to offer in that regard. It was a matter of circumstance, his and the other's ability to assist the senshi if things went to s**t and as much as he hated to admit it, too many variables were likely to be out of his control.
Still, they would try when they could.
Fortunately, he didn't need to speculate it any further as he was once again provided with new information. He knew not of Quartz, outside of vague recognition for the handle, but did not let that show as he listened.
"He is not." If Quartz was part of a team, he did not know which but reasoned he might have been able to retrieve the information without difficult. If there was information to be found and housed in the database. "With a vague summary I cannot counter his advice, relying on a name to protect you is an unwise choice in any matter. Who's to say who speaks of the truth and who lies?"
Labyrinthite's jaw ticked, the only easily noticed sign of his mild irritation when it came to what he said of Quartz. "What did he caution you against exactly?"

"That was my understanding as well, Sir." Aue had not expected that using any of his packmates names would open magical doors of protection or safe harbour, only avenues of opportunity to speak at most. It would have been easy enough for any member of the White Moon to gather enough officer names to sound credible. Quartz had been quite correct to dress him down, however kindly, for even bothering. "Blind faith in any faction or person, General." Which was, again, something Aue himself felt was a smart thing to keep in mind, though he had already cast his lot in with his Pack; his faith in them was strong - it had to be, or he might need to second guess himself and that simply wouldn't do. "Common sense things, for you or I. I believe he felt I held to many of the same naive ideas that poison most White Moon senshi and wished to disabuse me of those notions." Aue fell silent after this exchange, he had given his reports as he should and done as required. There was nothing left from him but to complete any further tasks the General might have had for him and await dismissal. Nuxaz Should be good to close soon. smile

Having a name could help in some instances, a tentative fall back depending on whom it was used on and what relation they had to the named parties. Labyrinthite himself hadn't talked very freely of his white moon informant for a variety of reasons.
Some of the team knew, others did not, yet.
"You are not like the others," he stated plainly. It was an obvious statement, proven by the way Aue handled himself around superiors and how he approached his given tasks. "Perhaps I will have to seek him out, see what he has to offer." And to see what the captain might say.
He paused to study the sturdily built man before nodding his head, lifting a hand to wave a dismiss. "Good work. For now, keep an eye out for large gathers, as usual." Simple orders because there wasn't anything in particular at the time that needed investigating. "If something comes up, I'll be in touch."
When Aue went to leave, he would wait until the senshi was out of sight before he too took his leave.
