Perking up when her order was called out, she walked over and grabbed the drink, taking a quick sip from it and smiling, "Thanks - it's really good." she said quickly to Mauna before turning back to Kailani, moving to sit at a table as she continued to listen. Though as she saw a dark marking on the girls neck, she squinted at it for a moment but just went back to watching her, sipping her coffee. There was something about the girl that she couldn't quite put her finger on, but she seemed eerily familiar, but she shrugged that off.
Picking at the muffin, which nearly crumbled as she began to eat it, "My friend makes a variety of things, he was trying to make something to replace my arm...but uh, I kinda broke it." she chuckled a little, pulling out her phone and scrolling through it, intent on texting Michael with 'I found someone who you might want to talk to at some point in the future. She likes to make things.', then looking back up to the girl as she spoke about Treles.
Looking at the book she pulled out, she was hit by another feeling of déjà vu, feeling like she knew that she had seen the moon symbol somewhere before, but couldn't quite place it. Looking down at the stones, she tilted her head a bit, "That's quite the interesting story. Was Halon's brother the first one to look for these stones..?" Moira asked, moving to look at Kailani, though as she was asked about what she was, though the compliment on her power got a smile from her. "No, I'm not a muse. I'm a Half-Angel..."

Kailani swung her legs a bit as she sat, her feet not really touching the ground as she thought, listening the Moira talk of her friend again. "Broke it? Maybe it just wasn't made of the right materials or reinforcing the focal points of stress a normal arm would have." she began to ramble, looking at Moira's arm then swinging her own arm in it's socket a bit. "I mean, the mobility would be hard to balance with structure. The harder the components used, the less versatility you get from the piece as a whole. Hmm..." she blinked a bit, "You're friend sounds interesting." Kailani looked over to see Moira pull out a device as her eyes widened and she leaned over, practically invading her personal space just to see it. "Did you make that yourself? Oh, or your friend? He knows how to make portable communication devices?? That's incredibly cool! Though, I doubt you'll be able to contact anyone from within the city. There's a signal tower a ways outside of the limits, but you'd have to leave town back landward just to get anything to send out. I would know, I tried." she spoke enthusiastically, as though she was very interested in such technology as she stared at the device for a moment before looking to Moira, and sitting back a bit to her normal position.
"The first? Hardly. There was a time where there were a lot of outsiders that came in looking for them. Like I said, no one's ever found the stones... They visit Treles, and either they leave right away because they don't like foreigners or they get lost in the jungle and never come back." she explained. "So Halon's brother was chasing the same stupid story and knew there were risks. Who knows, maybe he's still alive but I doubt it. That island is super dangerous outside of the main village."
She exhaled, looking down at the journal for a few moments before Moira answered what her race was. "..a.. half-angel?.." there was a pause before she gasped and covered her mouth. "Oh my gods... I'm sorry.. I..... I don't actually have anything against halfbreeds... It's just Halon... He's an obnoxious boob." she commented in a huff then a sincere look on her face. "I'm not one to judge halfies... heck, I barely use magic and I'm a bloody elf... Isn't that something..." she laughed then sighed. Quirking an eyebrow a bit she looked at Moira with concern. "Wait, you're not looking for those stones, are you?..... I mean, you look like you can bench press an entire horse with one hand behind your back.. but there's all kinds of scary stuff on that island..." she frowned, eyeing her carefully.

"I didn't make it, and I don't think he did either. They're... actually pretty common from what I can tell, outside of the village. If I can come back at some point, maybe I can show you some of the world outside of this place?" she asked with a grin, pocketing her phone once the message had sent. Nodding a little bit as Kailani went on about Treles a bit more, as well as Halon's brother, she let out a soft sigh and finished off her blueberry muffin before taking a sip of her coffee. The knowledge she was getting about Treles was making her want to go check the place out, even if they didn't like foreigners...it was probably no different than being a Meta in a main city.
"It's alright, you didn't offend me." Moira laughed a little bit and put her hand up in a gesture of 'no no, it's okay', before moving to grab her coffee again, "I'm not actually sure if I'm looking for the stones or not, I just know I'm looking for something, and this Treles place just sounds like it might be fun just to go see it for myself. I could use some more adventure in my life. Something of my own design, instead of following the will of others, y'know?" She grinned wide, looking down at the elf as she did.

Kailani appeared to be amazed by the idea that high technology was such a common thing outside of Drisall. It honestly peeked her curiosity but a frown showed her reluctance towards the idea of leaving the village. "I don't know... I am tempted to take that offer.. but these people need me. I'm the resident healer and I don't think the villagers could live without me..." she voiced her concerns then sighed.
A sigh of relief escaped her lips as Moira mentioned she wasn't offended. That was good. She honestly didn't mean to say it, but that didn't change the fact that she did.
"Sooo.. you want to visit Treles. If you really wanted.. I suppose I could take you there. Besides, you're better off accompanied by a native than to go alone." she commented thoughtfully. "So you just let me know when you want to leave for Treles and I will get the boat ready." she smiled, jumping down from the stool, she adjusted the satchel on her shoulder and took up the journal again. "Hey, if you want, you can come with me to my house and I can show you some of my inventions if you don't want to head to Treles right away. Just a thought." she smiled, "We don't even have to leave today, we can always leave tomorrow too, so like I said, it's up to you."
Do you want to:
Go to Kailani's house and go to Treles at dusk. Go to Treles right now. Find an inn and go to Treles tomorrow Go check out the school.

"Well, maybe some day." Moira smiled and drank a little bit more of her coffee before standing up and stretching as best as she could in the building that was a little shorter if she were to stretch properly. "As for leaving now...or later, I think I would feel a bit safer going now while it's still light out. Mostly as a safety thing." After she spoke, she finished the last of her coffee and moved to toss out the paper cup, though she did want to order more, she decided against it.Broken_Illumination Going to Treles right meow

"Ambitious, aren't we?" she spoke with a grin, "Alright, I got a boat near my home that I can take you over to Treles." she offered, waving a hand to follow her as she made her way out of the diner.
"Hey Kailani, be careful out there, okay?...Both'a you... " Mauna called out with a concerned smile.
"Yeah, don't worry, I've been there a hundred times, we'll be alright." she called back with a smile and a wave, heading out down the street.
By this time, the streets seemed barren, most the younger angels and elves were in school by this point and so it almost felt like an abandoned village had it not been for a lot of the shop owners tending to their own stores. Kailani led Moira to the edge of town near the ocean, pausing at a fork in the road, one leading upward on a hill and the other headed downward to the beach. "Up the hill is where I live... And down there is where the boat is." she motioned ahead and moved down the path toward the beach, a slight pep in her step as she almost seemed excited to go visit Treles. As they approached the boat, her smile faded as she took off into a run at it. "s**t! Really?!" she cursed, seeing a pickaxe laying on the ground next to the boat and a rather large hole in the boat itself. "Those assholes!!" she exclaimed angrily as she kicked the pickaxe, launching it into the water within her own rage.
Kailani turned to look at Moira with a frown. "So... the boat has a hole in it. It's fixable, but it'll take me about a day to repair it. At this point, I just suggest relaxing in town, get a room at the inn and I should have this thing ready to set sail early tomorrow morning." she informed in a half-defeated voice. Hey, at least not everything was lost. It was at least salvageable. Sighing, she adjusted her satchel on her shoulder then looked down to the damaged boat. Well, this was literally the worst.

Moira chuckled a little, waving a bit at Mauna when she told the both of them to be okay. Following the elf girl to where the boat was, she looked about the town, wondering if many of the other towns and cities in the world were like this one, as she had never really been outside of a few specific areas, making it hard for her to judge what was normal and what wasn't for when it came to average town or city behavior.
When they came up to the boat, her eyes went wide over the small thing before she looked at the pickaxe, frowning a little bit, "I'm guessing they do this a lot?" Moira asked softly before she just quietly nodded, gently patting Kailani on the shoulder, "I'll see you in the morning, then. Don't stress yourself out, alright?" she asked before heading back into the town.
She spent a good hour or two just wandering about the town, enjoying what sights she could enjoy before eventually making her way to a local inn, having been walking there instead of using the jeep that she had left at the coffee shop. Making her way into the inn, she quickly obtained a room, paying for it with the card that Michael had given her. After waiting the time needed for the payment to go through, she was given the key and shown to her room.
Once inside her room, Moira let out a soft sigh and took a quick shower, dried off, then promptly went to bed.

Sometime during the night Moira would be woken up by some ruckus outside. There seemed to be a lot of loud talking, a heated debate and the occasional yelling. There was a dim yellowish glow coming from outside the curtained window of the inn and the yelling increased by several younger voices as loud banging started in like small objects hitting metal. There was some frantic shuffling in the hallway outside the room Moira was staying, older female voices speaking hurriedly within the increasing chaos not too far from the inn itself. "They are at it again. Someone needs to stop those boys before someone gets really hurt!" hushed voices shot forth as they passed the door. "It's a little late for that isn't it? Someone call the sheriff, this has gone too far."Do you want to: Check the window to see what's happening Try to call for someone on the room phone Ask the ladies in the hall what is going on Go investigate outside immediately. Not my problem, go back to sleep and wait until morning.

Groggily waking up at the sound, Moira ran her hand through her short hair and looked about. Making her way to the window, she threw open the curtain, not even caring that she was wearing a pair of short shorts and a loose fitting shirt for her pajamas. Squinting to look outside the window in the dark, she did not look too happy to be woken up.

Upon adjusting to the darkness, her eyes would focus on the source of the glow. A large fire of what seemed to be her jeep that she had left by the cafe. In front of the flaming jeep was someone kneeling down surrounded by a handful of teenagers that appeared to be throwing rocks and the person as they tried to stand. The rocks that missed them, hitting against the vehicle with loud thuds. After a few blows to the arms and chest, one finally hit them in the head, knocking them down and very likely unconscious. A slight roar of cheering amongst the angelic teenagers that only paused for a few moments before continuing to throw rocks at the unmoving body. "Go back to Treles, you technomancer! No one wants you here!!" the teenagers screamed, finding more rocks to throw.

Eyes narrowing, then widening as she realized what was going on, Moira just crashed through the window and ran towards the group of teenagers, summoning the Stone Fist to create a left arm. As she got closer, she pulled up a two large walls of stone[Stone Wall] to block the unmoving body from the assault of the others and one between the body and the jeep, "STOP!" she bellowed, standing between the wall and the large group, sliding into a defensive stance.

There was obvious panic in at least half of the teenagers that stood half-circled around the unmoving body as Moira made her way onto the scene. "Stay out of this! This has nothing to do with you, outsider!!" one female angel shouted at her. Another two boys threw rocks at Moira, not even enough strength behind their throws to even affect Moira in the slightest. "You can't tell us what to do!!" another male yelled out, joining in to throw rocks at Moira too.
The person laying on the floor, began to slowly stand, a hand wrapped around her arm as though injured, matted blood-stained black hair was a mess about her face as she staggered to the side of the stone wall and leaned against it for support. She said nothing as she stood there, not moving, not speaking.
"Maybe you should beg the drifter to take you with her to wherever she came from! Then you can quit being such a burden to everyone!!" a voice kicked up, a familiar one, Halon, who stood among those in the group. He picked up and threw a rock at her again, however, this time it stop just in front of her, held in the air for a moment before a sound of tension as it suddenly exploded to dust and crumbled to the ground. "..leave me alone.." she muttered weakly.
"No, you leave! No one wants you here!! Your parents didn't even want to stay because they knew you killed a lot of people! It's all your fault!! They all died because of you!!" Halon shouted, stepping forward hesitantly as he kept an eye on the giant woman who most of the others had turned their assault onto by now.
"...shutup, Halon... just... LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" she screamed, wind began to whip around her, kicking up her hair as it floated about her, uncovering the view of her slitted red eyes as she let go of her arm to raise up her hand and Halon was lifted from the ground. Her eyes burned with a fury that showed just how much she had had enough of it all. Halon grabbed at his throat unable to breathe as he gasped for air but nothing would come.
"...you want to die like your brother.. then so be it..." she spoke softly, almost a gentle tone as she began to close her hand slowly, focused on the defenseless boy as the panic in his face set in, realizing she had no intentions of letting up. He was likely going to die. The other teens began to yell and shriek, a good portion of them running off, calling for parents or any kind of authority as they scattered down the streets. Only but three or four kids remained, standing there watching in horror as Kailani used her free hand to summon a silver sword with light blue digital markings all over it and waved her hand to make it float next to her, pointed straight at Halon who was already turning deep shades of blue and purple from asphyxiation.

Ignoring the rocks that were doing pretty much nothing to her, Moira frowned, still remaining in a defensive stance, "You lit my jeep on fire and you're hurting my friend, of course it has something to do with me!" She shouted back, quite clearly angry at how close-minded these teenagers could be when if they took a trip to the outside world, their minds would be blown. Though, as a voice shouted at the figure behind her, she felt a familiar twinge in her heart - one of being called a burden - but as the shouting match between the two started, not even caring that the other children were still throwing rocks at her.
Watching in horror at first as Halon was lifted up, Moira quickly turned to face Kailani, reaching to grab at her ankle with her right hand, "Kailani stop! If you kill him you'll only prove that you're exactly what they expect you to be! You're better than this!" She shouted, trying to pull the girl down and into an embrace, feeling like what she needed is what Moira herself had craved for so long as a child.

"You don't even know! She has you charmed!! She's the one that set the car on fire!!!" one girl screamed. "Let Halon go, you b***h!!" a male angel yelled.
Kailani didn't appear to be even listening, as a grin was forming slowly on her face as the blood gently began to cover half of her face from the head wound she had acquired. Her eyes narrowed ready to send the blade forward as something suddenly grabbed her ankle and she whipped her head to look at Moira, ready to retort angrily when her words echoed deep within in her heart. Her red eyes softening, slowly returning to normal as tears began to fill them even if the anger that burned deep within them remained. Kailani was pulled into an embrace as she didn't even fight it, only silent for only few long seconds before breaking down into tears as the sword fell to the floor and moments later disappeared.
Halon fell to the ground on his hands and knees, coughing and gasping for air. In a panicked scramble, he flapped his wings to come to a stand and took off running for the remaining three teenagers, practically running straight into them as they all took off into a run and quickly left.
"...i'm.. sorry about your jeep... I had a vision they were going to try to destroy it.... and was trying to stop them.. but I was too late." she explained through sobs, hugging tightly to Moira. "...i'm so sorry..."
It was at that point that a group of 4 older men, two angels, a nymph and an elf made their way onto the scene in a faded red truck with an attached hose and ladder. They immediately began to assess the fire, the muse starting in using water magic to douse the fire as the two angels assisted in putting out spreading fires with the hose. The elf made his way to Moira and Kailani. "What happened he-... Kailani.... why am I not surprised you're involved in all this..." he sighed, not appearing to be angered but mostly disappointed and honestly sympathizing with her as it was obvious by the tone in his voice that this was not the first time she had been involved in such altercations. "...who started all this..." he asked calmly, a frown on his face. Kailani only hugged Moira tighter, trying to think of how to explain it, knowing that despite the fact that a lot of the older true races pitied her, they also didn't exactly view her as innocent in the events she had been accused of as well as the chaotic disputes that seemed to arise often.

Moira ignored the others as they continued to scream at her and throw rocks, though as she managed to pull the elven girl into an embrace, she pressed her back against the stone wall she had created and slid down it, just wanting to keep her close. Closing her eyes and keeping her embrace as tight as she dared on Kailani, she quietly shushed her, "It's alright, it's not your fault, Kailani." Moira smiled softly at her, though as the other adults finally showed up, she glanced up at them then looked back down at the girl. "It would probably be best to tell them the truth.." she said quietly. Broken_Illumination Can I just adopt Kailani? Please?
