The feeling faded again when Aleksy scooted away, Jeremiah blinking a couple times as if clearing his vision. It took a moment, a breath let out, because that was twice now he had felt that. The wheels turned, things clicking together.

"I think so." His voice was quiet still, hand reaching to curl around Aleksy's wrist regardless. There it was; something faint and thready and barely hanging on. His pulse was back, the feeling as well but it was not as pulling as before (Aleksy's hand not in his).

"... hopefully you'll not be glittering in the sunlight." This was a poor time for humor, Jeremiah. "You're looking better."

Jeremiah bit the immediate response that apparently Aleksy had. His hand pulled back and smoothed along his pant leg instead.

It was confirmed instead, at least, that Aleksy was taking something from him whenever he touched him. Was it just his hands?

"I'm fine," he said after a moment because it needed to be said. It just made his head fuzzy but it faded. He was also not the one that had truly died and come back as someone who fed on-

What? Jeremiah was not quite sure. A hand raked through his hair, then rubbed at the side of his neck. "It-" Always a good sign if he's been moved to partial sentences. "It felt like I drank too much there for a moment, but I'm fine."

"Aleksy," Jeremiah's voice was firm, "it is alright." A hand hovered nearby but did not touch, instead he sighed.

"Look at me. Do I look any worse for wear?" He truly did not. His hand shifted, instead being held out and the palm upwards.

"You're going to have to invest in something for your lips." Especially since Aleksy was piercing them with little to no effort. With one hand, while Aleksy was slowly reaching out for his, Jeremiah was reaching into his pocket to pull out a handkerchief and offer it to him.

Stupidly old-fashioned.

The moment Aleksy's hand touched his, he closed his fingers and held. Jeremiah was not food - he was not meant to be food - but whatever had happened to the young man meant he was. The fact that this had happened to him, that he had been changed, been hurt, bothered him in more ways than one.

Fingers pressed to Aleksy's pulse point in his wrist as that same feeling came back, washed over him. "When your pulse is stronger, it should be alright ..." His blue-green eyes slid shut for a moment, mind feeling sluggish. "We'll figure it out."

It did not seem to matter if one was not in it or not because other ashdown was already in you.

The constant pull eventually made Jeremiah feel dizzy himself but by the point his head started to spin, Aleksy was letting go. His fingers flexed in and out, once and then once more, before he let out a breath.

"You-" he started and then stopped, letting his head fall back against the couch. "Don't say sorry." His head rolled to look over at Aleksy, blue-green eyes half shut. "Not for something like this." A hand reached over and brushed his hair.

Given a few seconds, catching his breath, and Aleksy not starving, then maybe they could process this.

Jeremiah made a noise, not quite sure he wanted to be thanked either - mostly because this was a situation that Aleksy did not want to be in. He did not pull his hand away, his hand pulling through red hair and letting out a sigh.

One could pretend but-

"Well, first thing on the list is razing a house full of mirrors," he said dryly, "or it's going on the to do list." Except that he kind of meant it because he was not at all happy with this. Aleksy had died and was a vampire. One with a pulse and needing something beyond blood as food (was that a boon or a bane?) because he still was not sure what he had lost.

He was just tired now, worn out.

"We figure it out," he said, this time seriously. "You're not alone."

Jeremiah shifted, arm going around Aleksy but staying in his hair. There was low points and this seemed like one of them but the detective would be damned if it would-

"Just be careful and let me know." He never asked that kind of thing, always let Aleksy carry out his own business but this ... this he was asking to be in the know about. His head tilted against Aleksy's, glancing down to his hands. "Well, I can help you pick out a pair. Coincidently, I've gotten into wearing gloves."

That would be assuming Siri wasn't somehow evil and in on this. Never not suspect everything.

"You mentioned mirrors earlier," he said after a quiet moment, arm still around Aleksy. Jeremiah was ignoring the feeling in his gut (the one that said everyone was in danger, that he needed to do something, that it had to stop) and instead looking towards the younger man a moment before his eyes went to the hands that were being in careful check.

"Do we need to do something about the ones here?" That and his reflection had been gone, hadn't he said?
