"Like the black plague beautiful." He was joking of course, though he had a strange sense of humor, probably from still being poisoned with fear toxin. "So, about that anti-toxin. They're using fear gas. You wouldn't happen to be carrying an antidote would you? It's kind of annoying to fight without use of all of my senses." He stated still barely dodging the Talons that were attacking him, though somehow managing to fight back and striking them with the knife he kept on him. gaia_nitemareleft _______________________________________________________________ gaia_nitemareright

 As the three new heroes joined them, the Grandmaster let out a quiet, low growl in anger. "Your newly found friends will meet a fate same as yours. Arantera, Firestar, Red Hood. The Court has sentenced you ALL to DIE!" As this was said, at least ten more Talons flooded the room quickly making their way to the three vigilantes, weapons in hand and blood on their minds. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  "This isn't fear gas, kid." Red Hood replied, trying to break it to him that he didn't have any antidotes of any kind on him. "The Court has their own trademark gas they use. Odorless, non-inhale. You're a bit screwed for a while."
Hood shot off the rest of his bullets in both of his guns, and quickly started reloading both of them as he saw the new wave of enemies coming their way.
"Arantera, you got any powers? You've got this whole Bat/Spider thing going on. Weird as it may be, if you have any sort of healing factor, I bet the gas would filter out of your system faster than most humans."
Red Hood raised his guns again and started unloading on the Talons right in front of him, slowly getting worried that he and his companions might be overpowered. "Speaking of healing factors, every single one of these Talons has one. They're not staying down for that long, and we're running out of options. Whats the plan?"

"I'm a fast healer, but the only way I could get it out of my system quick enough is through Magic, think you can distract them?" He asked dodging away from the Talons and up a wall where they couldn't reach. "Try this, I won it off Deadpool in a poker game, he said it would counteract healing factors, but I've never had the chance to try it out." With that Arantera threw a large knife that was kept on his costume down to the floor nearby Red Hood and began focusing his magical energies trying to dispel the toxin in his body. gaia_nitemareleft _______________________________________________________________ gaia_nitemareright

 Firestar put up a firesheath to protect herself from a barrage of kunai flung from several talons, while as the same time helping to cover Jason in the barrage. As the mutant shielded who she could, Agent Skye ducked as she realized that the Talons were keeping moving to throw off aimed shots. The SHIELD agent chose at different tact: she snap shot at the Grandmaster himself with an ICER round -- attempting to knock out the leadership present. Just after popping off the fast shot, THE Talon sprung up behind Skye and nerve pinched her. Skye's eyes widened in surprise, as her limbs go slack dropping her 9mm Smith & Wessen. Falling back into Cobb's arms, the assassin quietly drag the prize the Owls wished for and was now delivered to them -- an Inhuman.......

Daniel Walker gaia_nitemareleft _______________________________________________________________ gaia_nitemareright Arantera had been able to expel enough of the toxin that he could at least see, and noticed a Talon carrying Skye away and immediately webbed up the exit they were trying to take. "No way I'm I gonna loose another partner to the psychopaths of Gotham." He stated using his web shooter's built in Anti Symbiote stingers as a weapon to at least make the Talon drop Skye as he was driving them away from her and standing protectively so that they wouldn't be able to reach her.  When it finally dawns on Firestar that these Talon assassins aren't human, the redhead cuts loose one them. The fiery mutant had just witnessed one of the Talons get struck on the arm from one of her blasts. For a brief moment, she had dropped her guard. Painlessly, that assassin flung a bracket of kunai at Firestar. At the last possible moment, Angelica brought her energy sheath back up -- burning the daggers into nothing but ash an tiny flecks of melted metal that harmless pelted her costume and skin. While keeping up her energy sheath, Firestar observed that Talon with a burning arm continue to advance. And then, the heroine spoke in horror and disgust, "You're... You're not even alive, are you? Holy Mary..." Without a word, that assassin closed in and pulled out a box with a blowhole. Green eyes behind a red mask widened, as Firestar recognized the ninja weapon for what it was. Years of fighting supervillains in New York exposed the redhead to the Hand -- now equating these Talons to the other world's equivalent. Flying straight up, Firestar fired with both hands and blasted the Talon full force through the box he had in his hand. The resultant explosion blew his hands wide, and the mutant's beams engulfed and burned the Talon into a crisp -- his costume and unliving flesh burned off. The crisp skeleton fell to the floor. A grim smile took in Angelica's face, "Ding! ... You're done."................................ The Talon himself noted the webbing over his exit, Cobb set Skye down against the webbing. Turning to face Arantera, The Talon strode toward the arachnidic hero, "You should have stayed out of my way, you would have lived longer." Ironically, that was when a different Talon met his end from Firestar's flaming burst. Cobb noted the blast, but stayed on target toward Daniel.

The Grandmaster was trying to deny the fact that he and his Talons were losing this battle, but only a fool would have such ignorance. He knew it was time to move. "Release the toxin. Again. Flood the damn room, I don't care." The Grandmaster pressed a small, metal button underneath the lapel of his suit, alerting his personal security detail that this was, in fact, an emergency, and that they were to come to him, and escort him to safety. The rest of the Court immediately got up and walked to tunnel exits respective to their isle. The Grandmaster turned his back and stepped through a secret downstairs exit to reach safety. To cover his exit, two Talons dropped down with weapons drawn, in case any of them had any big ideas to follow the Leader. He was about to successfully get away. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hood picked up the knife that apparently use to belong to someone called "Deadpool." Never heard of him. Probably one of those alternate-universe heroes he keeps hearing about in this new multiverse he's been thrown into. Still need to look into that.
Reloading and firing off his pistol, he was starting to feel pretty good about this skirmish the lot of them were currently stuck in. They were gaining the upper hand.
Then he heard that old, throwback, classic quip from Firestar: 'ding, youre done.'
Red Hood's head dropped in comedic disbelief, sighed, and then looked over to his significant other. He smiled with nostalgia.
Seeing the Grandmaster make his exit, as well as the two Talon's guarding him, he moved closer to Firestar in order to cover her six.
"The Grandmaster is getting away, and they're flooding this room with toxin again. We might be winning, but we still don't have the homecourt advantage."
He looked over to Arantera and then to the head assassin, The Talon.
"We need to figure out our next move, but I don't think we can stay here."

"Time to ditch." He stated ripping the unconscious Skye from his webbing.[color "Hood, I could use your help here. Firestar, clear a path for us." Firestar looked just in time to see the Grandmaster escape, the door slam shut behind him, and the pair of Talons the dropped down from seemingly nowhere, ".... I think you're right, Honey. Shall we try Door Number One after the head honcho? Or do we go through another door 'Monty'? I should be able to slag any of them... Speaking of slagging...." The fiery mutant suddenly reinforced the energy sheath above both her and Jason, just as a pair of Talons drop down from above -- only to become flaming, squirming zombie ninjas. Firestar added, "Point the way, and I'll burn a hole."Then, the redhead spied Daniel's plight and heard his request, "Crowd control coming up!" Creating a wall of flame, Firestar forces the Talons away from the windows, as requested. ................................ Cobb sees the firewall form before it reaches him. The expert combatant rolls away to avoid being charred into a crisp, as he had seen the fates of several of his compatriots. A couple of the other assassins are similarly forced away from Firestar's intense flames. A flash of inspiration popped in Cobb's head. The Talon ran back to one of the blocked exits and grabbed an ABC fire extinguisher. Walking back toward the flames but keeping a discreet distance from them, The Talon flings the extinguisher through the top part of the firewall -- expecting the canister to rupture and engulf the fire-wielder with fire-extinguishing chemicals....

Hood took a short break from shooting off at the baddies to talk about their next moves. "Personally, I think we should get the Hell out of here."
Quickly raising his pistol he fired off five more shots, three at an incoming Talon, and two at another one rearing up behind him.
"That being said, this isn't my mission to lead, and I've been known to find justification in making moves others could consider 'suicidal.' Arantera, Skye, it's your call. What's our gameplan?"

Daniel Walker gaia_nitemareleft _______________________________________________________________ gaia_nitemareright Arantera's Spider-Sense went off just before the extinguisher could hit the wall and thinking quickly he pushed everyone back and off towards the windows and away from the exploding canister, although some of the foam coming from it did in fact cover the four of them. "Ugh, glad I'm wearing a mask." He complained thankful it didn't get up in his hair.[color "Best thing to do is to get out of here. We cant continue on like this, c'mon" He gestured for Firestar and Hood to follow him, then used his free hand to web-swing to the building directly across from them before setting Skye down gently glad to be out of there. gaia_nitemareleft _______________________________________________________________ gaia_nitemareright

(I presume DM meant exiting and then setting down Skye outside. That's how I'm taking it. razz ) Firestar saw the impromptu exit of the theme-confused hero taking Agent Skye with him. The redheaded mutant shrugs a moment before grabbing Red Hood, "Alright, here we go. What to handle exiting crowd control, Darling?" Angelica expands her fire sheath to protect her and her lover, whilst melting through the windows flying out of the lair and back onto the streets of Gotham. ................... Cobb was livid. However, even if his face could be seen under his mask, only a stone-cold glare could be seen, "I'll be seeing you again.... When you least expect me." While six talons gave pursuit, Cobb melted back into the shadows to leave in a different path. The Talon wished to learn more and strike with precision, when he confronted these heroes again... preferably one at a time, "Four little Indians going out to sea...."[Exit the Talon, William Cobb]

A remote controlled smart bomb went off the in shadowed corner of the room that Arantera had left it in, causing the base for the Court of Owls to explode and catch fire. The flames spreading too quickly for it to be put out fast enough to keep the building in tact. Though not long after the fire department and the GCPD had appeared trying to figure out what exactly was going on.
