"You get to say that you defeated me."
Shun didn't really do bets for sparring. Or fights. Or whatever.

The fists came down. "Booo. C'mon there's gotta be something y'want to win. Like I buy you a new dagger or clean yer motorcycle or somethin'."

"That is completely unnecessary," he stated dryly. Seriously, if there was a wager every single time there was a spar or whatever... well things might be a little different. Not that he's done much of that here, but back home in New York, he did a fair share of it.

Shun just gave her a blank stare.

"You are assuming that I am accepting the terms of defeat," he pointed out flatly. Unlike with Chel, his fists never lowered, "Seriously. Wagers over something like this are pointless."

"'Cause f'yer not fightin' fer somethin'- whole thing gets real borin' real fast." She sighed and leaned back on her heels. "Whatever, you somehow made that borin' too. Go ahead, grumpy."

"I do not need wagers to give me a reason," he stated sternly. With a huff, he sized her up for a moment. He took her last comment as meaning she was ready.
And so.
Shun shifted in right into her space. One jab shot out to her face while his other hand hooked in towards her torso for a quick combo.

She at least dodged the one towards her face (Chel was very determined to keep her face pretty). "You wanna beat me up that bad?" she asked before the wind was somewhat knocked out of her. Despite having sought professional advice from Thorne, this was clearly something that she was outmatched in.
The whole point of this fight had been to get him to talk to her again, not to beat him anyways. She held up her forearms to shield her front for any other incoming blows. "So m'thinkin' we go t'the beach when I win."

"Unless this is a complete stomp in either way, I gain something regardless of the outcome."
Training was training.
Since there was no retaliation yet, Shun went on to keep up the pressure. Another fist came towards her abdomen as he kept his other hand up, ready to guard.

And it was then that Chel did something you weren't supposed to do, and slid around the arm, landing a kick in the back of his knees like it was middle school. He'd never said no playing dirty.
"Do you got a swimsuit? M'thinkin' swimmin' would be fun. An' cliff climbin'- you never did say f'you wanted t'come with me an' Chris," Chel went on. She always was better at talking.

Shun caught the movement and was able to shift away slightly so that the kick hit the side of his knees rather than right in the back. It was enough to make him buckle slightly, but it wasn't as bad. His eyes narrowed at this. Shifting forward, he reached to try and grab her shoulder to bring her forward and down... towards the knee that was coming up to strike her torso.

Chel's shoulder had been bad since the car accident and she was keen to avoid having it touched. The knee still grazed her front side but did less than if she'd been forced down into it.
She wheezed a little just from the impact and then said, "Or we could sit in silence an' meditate or somethin'- that feels like a thing you'd be into yeah?"
She backed up a few steps, striking something more of a defensive pose. She didn't like being in such close quarters all the time; she was really more of a ranged person.

When she backed up, Shun moved right along with her, not really giving any breathing space just yet. He was being rather relentless here, throwing a couple more punches at her as he did so.
"Focus."
She was talking too much for a fight.
