He had to concede, he could see her argument and wasn't in the mood to fight about it. Clearly they both had different styles: he hated letting anyone know his plans. He instead liked to show up unannounced, destroy a space station and leave before anyone was any the wiser, his bounty reflected that as he would rarely take credit for something that was below a certain level. "We'll mark it down to personal preference and leave it at that." He took a swig of rum and shifted in his chair when she brought up the topic of children. "We saved those people, they owed us, if they wanted security they should have hired a body guard." He rubbed his eye. "Its not for lack of trying. Do you really want me to get into it? Because I can see from your face its a 'no and please shut up.' Lets just leave it there." He grinned, he thought he had avoided that topic rather well. "I meant like scrap collectors, but that works too. Mad dogs." He clarified his earlier statement then threw in a name of his own, he tried to avoid crazy as it added the wrong kind of image to his crew when possible but thought the name sounded cool. "Alright if we go with Scrappers, what will be our symbol? A skull and couple of wrenches?" he listened to he talk about the ship and tried to stay calm, wondering if they had ever done something like that to his baby before. "I want to say, never and if you suggest it again you can sit outside the ship. But I do like your idea. How about we raid another ship, strip her down and let her float with a skeleton crew while the Glow waits cloaked nearby. She can follow along behind ready for us to get the docking codes." He wanted to hear her thoughts on the matter, using another ship mean they could probably give it some real damage before letting it drift into the path of the cruiser.

“I’ll drink to that.” She agreed, clinking her bottle of rum against his before taking a swig. Alcohol; The cause of and solution to all problems. “Hey I’m not saying they didn’t owe us, I’m just saying a decent person wouldn’t have forcefully taken the money.” She definitely would never claim to be a decent person, and why should she? The world wasn’t a decent place. It was kill or be killed, rob or be robbed. Those so called decent people working 9-5 were being robbed by the people who employed them. They were slaves and didn’t know it. She may not be considered decent by she was free. “Performance problems?” Akira asked with a grin after Dalton tried to skirt the question of children. She wasn’t going to let it go so easily. Not without a little bit of fun and embarrassment first. “Mad for following you. I know you meant scrap collectors, and we’ve all hauled more than enough junk aboard this ship to earn the name. How about a cog and a couple of wrenches?” She suggested for a symbol, thinking if they went the old fashion way of branding the wrenches could easily look like bones. Honestly she was proud of him for staying so calm at the suggestion of hurting his baby. She’d been prepared for him to try to take a swing at her for it. “I say we reverse it. Put the main crew on the skeleton ship, skeleton crew on Glow. Wait until they do dock and storm the cruiser from the inside. The crew on Glow can keep her safe for our get away later.”

He nodded. "I forgot I should have done the decent thing by societies standard, got them to invest and the swindled away their money all the time pretending they are going to become rich. I've only ever met a handful of real decent people and most of them are on this ship, the rest are dead or hopefully safely in bed." He was referring to his wife with that last one however he was unsure what time it was back home. "Well since you asked." He gave her a wicked grin and scooched closer so that he could discuss at great lengths his problems. "So it started with this intense burning every time I went to the toilet, but then my wife, she was all like maybe I'll stop pouring wax on you while your trying to pee. We're into some really kinky stuff, here I've got pictures." He went for his communicator and gave her a quick grin. "Just kidding, we've had tests, she has too many hormones or something and it makes it difficult for the egg to be fertilised. We're thinking of trying something else but I'm taking advantage of the situation for the time being." He didn't mind telling her his personal problems, they were friends after all. "Its not scrap, their materials. A cog would work, how about we let the crew design the logo, I'll put forward my design, a skull with a gear behind it, and you can do your cog thing." He liked to have the crew take part with things like this, it meant they were more likely to follow him without mutiny. "I like that, you should be captain." He smiled slightly. "Alright, lets head to that cluster of asteroids near Stratos and lie in wait, we can grab a ship as they pass by."

"Exactly." Akira agreed, tipping her rum bottle in Dalton's direction. "What kind of indecent person blatantly robs people when you can just swindle them out of their money without them even noticing? At least then they don't know about it and can feel better about themselves." Really they weren't so different than the business people of the galaxy. If anything they were more honest. "Oh hell no!" Akria exclaimed trying to push Dalton away in mock disgust at the mention of pictures, though she couldn't quite keep from grinning. "Oh sure, try to blame it on the woman. Definitely performance issues." She concluded in solidarity with the woman she hardly knew. "Junk. Alright, crew design contest it is." She stood up, indicated that Dalton should follow and lead the way to the next room, where the screams of their poor spy emanated from. "Listen up!" She shouted at the crew, catching their attention. "It's time we had a brand, so going forward we will be known as the Scrappers. We also need a logo. I'll be taking submissions in the form of a brand on that mans skin for your design." She indicated to the spy. "While you spend some time thinking about your design, we are going to be taking a ship. Something common and non-threatening, whatever we come across first. I'll explain the rest when we are free of certain company." She looked to Dalton. "Anything you want to add before we set sail?"

He looked at her and took a swig of his drink. "Ah, you go me, its all those bullets I took. There is nothing left. My wife stays because I shackled her in the basement..." He grinned, if she wasn't going to just accept the truth then he was happy to fabricate a story that she wouldn't forget in a hurry. If he had to take a little ribbing later then so be it. He sat back to let her address the crew, he listened from the perspective of a crewman and as a former captain, he missed it. "A couple of things, first off, when she said were accepting it in the form of a brand that is not to say you need to carve off parts of his flesh to present them to us. Anyone comes waving flesh chunks at me while I'm on deck and I will cleave as much as you have taken. We will also accept entries via normal means, I'll direct you to the first mate." He looked at her wide eyed for a second. "Who did you make first mate?" She had obviously been his. "Other thing is, I may have another couple of jobs in the works that would require a much smaller crew, if you are interested and the captain is okay with it please come and see me at your leisure." He looked at Akira. "Side bets." He explained, it wasn't anything concrete just an idea he had had regarding another mark. "Other then that, great work and I look forward to working with you all." He motioned back to Akira to signal he was done speaking and left it to her to set sail.

Akira flashed a brief grin at Dalton before putting on her serious captain face. "Men to stations! Prepare to set sail!" She shouted. After all what was the fun of being a space pirate if you didn't act like the Earth pirates of yor every once in a while. It was a deeply guarded secret that she enjoyed old pirate movies and books. While the men and woman of the crew scattered to attend to their separate duties (a couple of brutes dragged off the poor prisoner towards the brig.) Akira motioned for Dalton to follow her, grabbed a bottle of rum and headed for the bridge of the ship. "I made Lucky Jack first mate. Poor guy is stuck manning the bridge while the rest of us party. Least I could do was bring him some rum." She explained, swishing the bottle in her hand around a bit. While the crew was a good mix of races, Lucky Jack was pure human like Dalton. "So do you want to drive her? Actually first, do you remember how to drive her? I don't want you crashing us into an asteroid or something. When's the last time you drove a ship?" As if he would ever hurt Glow, but if he didn't want to be teased he shouldn't have come back.

Dalton matched her serious face, the last thing anyone wanted was mixed messages coming from their leaders. That sort of thing only led to confusion, also he was using the opportunity to single out the engineer he had head so much about. Either he had missed them during the meet and greet or, and far more likely knowing the race, they hadn't come to the party. "Luck Jack? I mean I know he's been around since my time..." He placed his glass down and followed after her, he tapped his leg and the two hands stopped playing fetch with a spork and began following him again. "You dont get a nickname like lucky by being the best at something, you getting by scrapping by. Is he missing any more limbs? This is a serious question. I know he can do the job he's a liability, why did you think I made him quartermaster? It wasn't because he was good a looking after stuff." He started laughing to himself, clearly amused by the notion. "If its working, don't fix it." He grinned. Lucky had his good points, him being around since the beginning, or thereabouts was tantamount to that. "I've never sailed a ship like the Glow, not before and not since. I can do everything except parallel park." He laughed a little, picturing the last time he had tired back home, it had been a nightmare that only ended when he had one of the cars in his way towed. "Yes, I'll take the wheel for a little, just long enough to get the rush. Then auto pilot can kick in." It was a pretty sound system, designed to let the sleep crew without him worrying about everyone crashing into planets or moons.

“Hey, I would rather be lucky than good any day of the week.” Akira answered with a laugh. Skill seemed to only get you so far in life, if you wanted to make it big a lot of luck needed to involved as well. Such as pulling of this heist they were planning against all odds. A handful of pirates against a luxury space cruiser full of the best body guards money could buy. Well not the best. Genesis and Syndicate snapped up most of those. The door to the bridge slid smoothly back into the wall on well greased tracks. “Besides cyber-limbs are way better than the original models we are born with this day and age, right Jack?” She asked the man in question who was currently occupying the drivers seat. Glow was a smaller ship as far as space ships went, designed to come in hard and fast and get away just the same once the cargo-hold was full. As such the bridge rather resembled a cockpit of an airplane many years ago.

As for Jack, he was currently wearing a black tanktop that showed off his mechincal limbs in all their glory. “Good riddance I say! Haven't missed them one bit! Good to see you Captain Dalton!” The man stood up with a wide grin and gave Dalton tight hug with a slap on the back. “Care to take 'er for a spin?”

Dalton grinned slightly, Akira was half right; a lucky guy could ruin a well thought out plan with one well placed shot but a skilled guy could remedy the situation before the damage even set in. "Don't say that, that's a dangerous statement if ever I heard one." Luck without skill would only lead to complacency. Fortunately Jack seemed to understand that and hadn't let it go to his head, if anything he was probably one of the most cautious people he knew. He was probably a good first made all things considered. He knew he couldn't fight a hug and so made sure to grip him and give him everything he had before Jack crushed his chest. "Yeah? That so." He said as he tried to push him off, Jack had stopped trying to kill him and the moment had turned weird. "I seem to remember it a little differently, Mr I'm not allowed on the water slide because I have robot arms. Seriously, your a pirate and I had to be the one to get the attendant to let you ride. I seem to remember you cried." That was an insane day. He pushed him to the side and stepped up to the helm. He crouched down and whispered sweet nothings to the console. He had missed his ship, probably more so than half the crew. "Not yet." He looked at the steering wheel and pulled himself away. "She says its not time. Doesn't want me driving her when I wont be able to fully appreciate her." He sighed, wishing he had drunk less however he was starting to get a buzzing in his fingers and judging by the extra buttons on the console she had almost certainly been upgraded since he was last aboard. He turned to Akira. "It'd be like firing a planet buster after a line of space-coke. Sure it'd be cool but you'd realise that you missed half of it because your so off your tits." He equated it to guns so she'd understand better. "Do I have time to get a power nap before we arrive? Also you engineer, I suppose that will have to wait now." He reluctantly turned his full attention to Akira. It really was hard to just leave it, but he knew it was for the best.

“Coming from a guy who has all skill and no luck.” Akira teased. It was certainly terrible luck that when he had finally managed to be happy and make a life for himself this blackmailer showed up and threatened to ruin it all. She stood to the side while Jack and Dalton embraced and naturally Dalton engaged in his usual ribbing. It was good to have him back, if only for a short while.

“Hey, my limbs are all waterproof! That attendant had no business stopping me from going down the waterslide!” Lucky Jack complained while grinning.

Both the Captain and the First Mate watched with amusement as Dalton whispered to the ship. Any new crew member would likely be worried for his sanity, but these two had been around long enough to just accept it. It was part of his madness and that madness hadn’t let them down yet. “Or she’s concerned you’ll drive her into something.” Akira played along with the ship being sentient. Then again with the way AI’s were it wasn’t far off. “I’ve always wanted to get my hands on a Planet Buster! For some reason I can’t figure out they keep them highly regulated.” Naturally the planet cracking cannon was kept under the tightest control only authorized for certain mining operations and breaking up the occasional asteroid that threatened one of the planets. Certainly not an event to miss because you are high off of space-coke. “Sure, if you don’t mind taking a crews quarters.” Small rooms with a single bed and a small area for storage above and below said bed. Naturally she had moved into Dalton’s room and Jack had moved into hers, the two largest rooms.

He winked at her when she said he had no luck, it was certainly true but it wasn't the sort of thing that mattered too much. Superstitions were better left to the crew, he had to keep a clear head and not rely on some mysterious mumbo jumbo that could fall thought at any moment. "If I recall right, that was the same attendant that drank you under the table that night. Loved that guy, we gave him that crazy tattoo, we should go back. They'll let us back in right, we only slightly wanted." He laughed at the idea and looked to Akira. "Yeah, she's a little worried about that, says she could plough through a planet and keep sailing straight but I told her not to push her luck." He pushed a button on the console and the engines purred softly in response. He stepped away to move closer to Akira. "Aw man, ten years ago, if I had this crew, you would have your planet buster. Lucky would still have both his arms." He cast him a glance and shook his head. "Ah, well, he wouldn't have lost his right hand there, probably lost it in a shaving accident or something." He grinned. "Now that was a raid, lost the buster but picked up some cosmic shielding. High quality stuff." He motioned it away, he didn't really want to recall the story, it did not have a happy ending and there was no need to start down that road. "No, thats fine. Your crew, I'll have your quarters." He laughed a little, of course he had know what she meant but why compromise. "You didn't fill it with weird stuff did you, I remember the clown manatee. That think haunts my dreams. Sometime I just wake up in cold sweat. I'm so glad we burned it." He stepped past her and to the door that led to the crew quarters, her bedroom was the closest to the bridge.

Akira snort-laughed when Dalton claimed Glow could plough through a planet. “Sailing straight as a Frisbee maybe.” They would all definitely be flat if they ever tried that maneuver. “I don't know what I would do if I ever got my hands on a Planet Buster anyway. One of those dreams you don't actually want full-filled, you know?” Honestly she'd probably fire it once at some uninhabited planet just to watch her crack open and then put the thing in storage somewhere. They were pirates, not miners or evil supervillains looking to take over the world. The thing took forever to charge up anyway, so it wasn't any good in combat. “If it'll keep you out of my room, it is full of clowns.” She grinned at him as she followed him towards the sleeping quarters. She only just got the room that could hold a king sized bed, there was no way she was going to let him commandeer it while going on this mission. Honestly the room was rather sparse, something she likely inherited from her Suldari line. A few treasured possessions, mostly in the form of old weapons, a picture of her mom. The clown manatee had been another crew members, but she wasn't about to point that out.

He thought about what he would have done with a planet buster and sighed wistfully, he would have taken the energy converter out and stripped it into the Glow. Something that destroyed planets would have changed the way he he could think about energy, it would essentially be limitless and he would be able to make the worlds fastest dreadnought, a ship capable of travelling across the galaxy in less than a day but having enough firepower to give the Syndicate a run for their money. "Maybe not, but I'd have taken full advantage of that monster, you know." He grinned, he didnt want to bore her with the ins and outs of changing one WMD into another, significantly better WMD so just let her know that she shouldnt rule out something like that so easily. "Besides, you could always use it as a deterrent. Double edged sword but I'm sure you could do something with it." He gave her a wink and then stopped outside her quarters. "You really filled it with clowns? I kind of want to open it to call your bluff but at the same time don't want to take that risk." He grinned and walked a little further down the corridor. "Real talk, this blackmailer, they found out something that I had made sure was wiped from the slate. I called a favour from an old contact to do a little digging but I think we should be pro active about this, can you think of anyone from the glory days, who are still around and would care this much?" He had racked his brain and made an exhaustive list but couldn't afford to make a move himself without significant proof for fear of his secret being exposed.

“If you got your hands on a Planet Buster and took it apart before I got a chance to fire it once or twice I would remove both of your hands.” Akira threatened all with a smile, knowing exactly what he was thinking by 'taking full advantage' of the weapon. It certainly wouldn't be doing what it was originally designed to do for long. She mocked holding a gun despite the Planet Buster being much to big to hold by a single person. “Give us all your credits or we'll blow up your home planet. How long do you think that would last until all of Parallel was after us?” The crimes they committed as pirates was one thing. Sure they all had bounties of various levels, but they were below the notice of any military. Start threatening to crack open populated planets and that would change in a heart beat. They were good, but they weren't take on an army single handedly good. “Take your chances.” She answered with a grin as he debated entering the room. “Good choice.” She commented when he moved on. “That's a tough question Dalton. We did a lot of crazy s**t back then, and I've seen people hold huge grudges over some pretty insignificant and petty things. For all we know we could have robbed a cargoship that ruined someone's wedding day. Do you have any clues?”

He moved inside a slightly smaller cabin, he had generally left it empty for political prisoners and 'important guests' and it seemed that Akira had kept up the tradition. It wasnt quite as large as the two big bedrooms and the door locked from the outside but atleast he wouldnt be displacing anyone and that meant more to him than anything else. "Please, Akira. We're alone now." He looked at her sideways and rotated his wrists. "You think you could take these." He grinned but he was being quite serious. "Yeah, obviously that would be stupid idea, firing it labels you a war criminal. That's why you put it in the hands of a fall guy and take him down, collect the tribute, wait five years and try the same con again. You need fake names and solid id's but I think you could make it worth it." He pointed to the bed and the two hands and scurried up the frame and curled up on the mattress. He sat down in the chair in the corner and left it up to Akira where she would sit. "I know, you should have seen the list. Most of them are dead, some of the ships I couldn't remember the names of and there was a couple of years I just disappeared apparently." He took his gun off his belt and clicked his fingers. One of the hands got up and went over to his luggage, picked up a small case and brought it over to him before returning to bed. He picked up his cleaning kit and got to work. "Remember the time we got arrested and screwed over an entire prison, you think any of them could have escaped?" He shrugged.
