Kanika Post 1

Zayana could have slept all day if it were up to her. She was tired from training and all she wanted to do was rest. She had no choice in the matter though and just let her mother take care of things for her. When she was dropped on the ground next to Zayana though, Kanika yawned and looked around through half closed eyes.

“Is it time yet?” She had no choice to actually wake up now, the festivities were about to begin. “Think mama will let us go around and play for a little bit?” She asked her sister, standing around wasn’t exactly her idea of fun.

Akeldama Post 3

She eyed the lady for a bit more before she dropped her eyes to what was written down. Akel scanned it all before she wrinkled her nose. Finally she gave a huff and shook her head at Kiunyki. "You shouldn't try to change the festival. It is for the Elaria and Elzira." Though once she said the words she realized they could be taken meanly. So she tried to make better sense of them.

"That is... Elzira provides for her daughters. The first three that bloomed will eventually be in charge of the event until our mother can produce her own Mystic. Until then... this is a... primitive version." Akeldama used words that her Alkidike guardian had used. Not that she really understood the full grasp of what primitive was. Only that it was the first. "Until a Mystic is given to us and you become accepted.. maybe you should stop trying so hard. Just... be here." The youngling put her hand on Kiunyki's hand. She was trying to give this outsider some pointers on how to be better accepted. Changing what was, in this moment, wouldn't gain her any standing.

So she took her hand away from the older girl and turned so that she could point toward Naqenni and Ceylinae. If Ku had been present then she too would have been included. "Your best shot is to speak to the original blooms of Elzira. Find a standing with them and you will be fine. Just.. train with them or something. They like that." Her shoulders came up a little before falling back down. Since she had spoken to two of the three she noticed that they were more focused on their training than any other Elaria was.

Lumikani Post 2

Lumikani was still focused on the tree and the sisters around her, keeping a hand on her daughter, when Zandala approached. Shifting once, she turned her head in the direction of her partner and nodded once, releasing Zayana and letting the two girls gather. A soft smile was shared with Kanika, a hand brushing past her hair, before she focused on the Alkidike by her side.

“Nothing yet, the elder Elaria are gathering in preparation, but it seems as if our Matron is holding off before starting the ceremony...”

As she glanced down to her daughters, she smiled once more, "Are you two ready to show them just how strong you are?"

It was rare she came out in the open these days, and she hoped the two would be happy and filled with pride to show off their status to the curious sisters around them.

Zayana Post 2

Zayana resisted the urge to whine when her mother didn't answer right away, but it was soon forgotten when her other mother and sister arrived. Leaning into the kiss and hug, she smiled toward Kanika and bumped shoulders lightly.

“...Maybe....” She hummed with a whisper, glancing about before she saw the older Elaria, "Or not yet..."

As she moved to stand, she reached to help her sister if it was wanted, "Mama! Mama, can we go closer to Elzira? Please? It's almost time!"

The closer they got, the closer they would be to other Elaria, which meant playtime until they waited. Zayana smirked lightly to her sister at the thought.

Kiunyki (Post 3)
~~~~~~~~~~
The girl's word's stung. For the Elaria and Elzira. Not for you, outsider. Kiunyki silently translated. She tried to keep the pain of it from showing on her face. She was getting good at that - lots of practice. Not for me.
"I... you're right." Kiki said, closing the book and giving it a lingering look. Why had she bothered with that thing anyway? Scribbling in it as she did made her look like a very stupid spy, and she knew it. To be honest, it was a terrible idea, and not really important. Notes and stories and doodles and current events, maybe a recipe here and there graced it's pages, pages she knew only she would ever see or care about. She'd kept it up because, well. She wanted to help. She'd thought it was an idea, and she'd wanted to help.
So far, though, it helped no one. She didn't want to give it up, though - it was a nice book, and she wasn't sure how to make another like it, to hold and hide her feelings behind. Surely there was some way she could be useful, some way that her sisters would want her around.
She found herself staring at the youngling, surprised. "You sound just like an elder." she said, smiling slightly. She really did. Just... be here? it was good advice. It sounded exactly like something her mother would have said; You're trying too hard, Kiki. Just be here, enjoy life.
Or maybe not quite. "Thank you..." she said, "But I doubt that anyone would let me close enough to them to train with them." And besides, was she even good enough to do so?
Zinris
As the final sisters and cousins arrived, the Matron appeared with her elder council from the roots of Elzira. She seemed pleased, and took a long moment to look out among the sisters before waving for the three original blooms to approach the roots. As soon as the eldest Elaria joined her side, she nodded and stepped forward.
"Strong and powerful sisters, I welcome you to another year of celebration for the great blessing we received from our Grand Mother Elzira!" Her words were bold, and she paused enough to let the crowd cheer and the younger daughters grow closer as well. "It is today that we thank Elzira for providing us with the blessing of life once more. She has taken us into her warm embrace, provided us with a home and a future, one that will grow strong as we guide our blooms!"
She gestured for the three to move up, "As we thank Elzira for her cultivation of our ways, our three eldest will collect the first flowers from the roots...continuing to strengthen our connection between our tribe and our Great Mother..."
Slowly, the matron stepped back and nodded for the three sisters to approach the roots, a ceremony all were quite familiar with.
[ The three Elaria from the original blooms may now approach the roots...the next post will open for the other Elaria sisters to have their turn ]
Akeldama Post 4
She watched how the girl reacted to her words. Akel hadn't been trying to hurt her but it appeared that she had anyways. Then when Kiunyki told her that she sounded like an elder she chuckled. "Nah. Most of that is just what I've been told. When we have a mystic they will be in charge and since Elzira will be able to speak to them things might change." The little girl then noticed that things were starting to look official so she eyed the outsider a little. "You can practice with me. Ceriet won't mind."
So she gave a small wave of her hand to summon Kiunyki along. Akeldama turned and started to head toward the crowd so that she could participate in the celebration and see the first three kick things off. If the older girl did follow then she would end up standing with Akel and her Alkidike mother, Ceriet.
That same Alk would look at Kiunyki for a second then down at her Elarian child and back. There was clearly a moment where she was trying to decide how she felt about the new comer but when the festivities were about to start she said nothing and simply looked forward.
Kiunyki (Post 4)
~~~~~~~~~~

... She really was right. It was a mystic's job to do festival things, and when they were born, they would have better ideas. From Elzira Herself, no doubt. And what use, then, would they have for Kiki's ideas? All the more reason to close her book and ignore the ideas that bounced through her head. And just be there, as the child had said.

"Oh!" Well, that offer was unexpected. "Thank you!" It was... well, not exactly an honor, but it was a sign of respect, really nice respect, to be asked to be an Elaria's training partner. Though... if Ceriet was the girl's mother, Kiunyki was sure that the woman would have a few choice things to say about her. She would have remarked on that, or asked about the girl's choice of weapon, but the festivities seemed to be starting and the girl began to move, beckoning her to follow.

"Coming!" she said, scrambling to her feet. She'd definitely not been expecting that, but it would be rude to stay put, would it not? She debated, briefly, what to do with her book, useless as it was. Finally, she just tucked it under her arm and followed as quickly as she could.

She was right about the Alkidike mother being suspicious. Kiki tried to give her a reassuring smile, but she knew it would come off uneasy, and rightly so. "Hello." She greeted. She was uneasy, a little. Dealing with her sisters, here, could be unpredictable. And besides... the festival was to begin.

The Matron began to speak, and Kiunyki couldn't help the chill that snaked down her spine at the sound of the woman's voice. Not too long ago - not long at all - that same voice had spoke of striking her down. She had been bound, forced to her knees, and judged. Others had called for her blood, but it had been the Matron who had determined whether she would live or die. That she had allowed her to live and to join them did not change the fact that Kiunyki was afraid of her. She didn't think that she would stop being afraid of her anytime soon.

Ceylinae - Post 4

This was it Ceylinae thought to herself, her antennae twitching like crazy. Time for her, as representative of the 'first three' to do her thing. It was more then a little nerve wracking, not to mention there were going to be a lot of eyes on her, but it was something that she would do for Elzira and the Elaria as a whole. She was of the first three born and that meant something. No, not just something, that meant a lot, because they were the first of a whole new tribe.

After giving herself as much of a once over as she could without a mirror, and one quick glance toward Naqenni, and Ceylinae was moving forward. It was for the three of them, Naqenni, Ku, and herself, to collect the first of the flowers. After that the rest of their Elaria sisters were to get the rest. Elzira was still young and couldn't yet provide nectar for everyone in their village, so it was good that they were pushing her... or deciding that it should be first come, first serve or the nectar went to the strongest or something. That the Elaria were being seen to first was a honor, though it was also only right since they were Elzira's children.

Giving the Matron a nod as she walked by she couldn't help but to wonder if a Mystic of the one called 'Aisha' was even able to hear Elzira. It made her curious, but that wasn't a question for today... or any day really. Something like that would likely be seen as an insult, especially if Elzira's words were meant only for an Elarian Mystic.

Taking a knee by Elzira's roots she gave a smile, "I thank you for the nectar, Mother Elzira." She murmured, resting on hand against Elzira for a moment before collecting the flower that was meant for her.

(( In her next post she will be moving away from Elzira if anyone wants to chat with her? ))

Naqenni || 4

Naqenni's pulse tripped upward with anticipation as the Matron appeared. After this many years, she knew well enough what was to come, but it was always especially satisfying to partake. The one true day of the year when no one could sneer down at her birthright, and any naysayers had to look and see or be deemed traitors.

When the Matron nodded to her and her fellow sisters of the first three, Naqenni's lips stretched into a feral grin, and she approached.

Ceylinae - Post 5

Turning to glance to Naqenni she watched him for a time, then turned back to the bloosoms that Naqenni, Ku, and herself were supposed to take. She was quick to look through them, looking for the one that seemed as though it were the 'best' hoping that through the 'best' flower that she woudl gain more strength. She wanted to be strong, the strongest in fact, but it would probably take a bit more then just the flower to become a pillar in the tribe. Every little bit helped though, right?

After a moment of searching she picked the flower that she felt was meant for her, turning to look at Naqenni, "Did you find the one that is yours' Naqenni?" She asked of her sister, lifting her flower up to show her sister, "This one is definitely one of the best, if not the best!" Giving a happy sound in her throat she lifted it up to drink the nectar from it.

Naqenni || 5

Naqenni's gaze flicked to her sister, and then out over the available selection.

There were a great many to choose from, and quite honestly - though she would never say so aloud - she had no way of knowing which was 'best.' They all looked similar, almost identical even. All bright and healthy, all but glowing and fresh with nectar. When Ceylinae chose, however, and spoke up on her choice, there was no option left but to say something in kind.

So, she huffed, buggish gaze landing on one of the nearest to her and antennae flicking a moment later as she reached and plucked it for herself.

"This one is best," she declared arbitrarily. "Because I plucked it."

Ceylinae - Post 6

Cey's antennae gave a twitch when Naqenni suddenly announced that her flower was the 'best' due to the fact that she had plucked it. It was something that made her give a smile before she said, "I suppose I could use the same argument in turn, that mine is the best for me since I am the one that plucked it." She kept her words hushed, just between Naqenni and herself, not wanting either of them to look bad in front of the rest of the village. Their rivalry was theirs alone and they would be the ones to figure it out with time.

Once she'd finished the nectar she turned to Naqenni, making sure she did the same before she said, "Let's hope that Ku is able to get the third best flower, so that she can keep up." This she said out loud for others to hear as she stepped away from Elzira after thanking her once more for the flower.

Zinris

The three oldest Elaria finished their lotus buds, drinking their nectar in front of the others and taking their place back in the crowd. "And the rest of Elzira's daughters..." The Matron motioned for the other Elaria to come forward, most were still younglings, some just nearly ready to be prentices. It was their turn to take from Elzira and enjoy the nectar of their Mother.

"You are the symbols of our future, of the blessing of life. You all are the ones who will continue our legacy, holding the ideals of the Alkidike but the strength of the Elaria! It is you, our children, who will build us up to the true glory of our kind! So drink, and continue to strengthen the ties with Elzira and build our future!"

Stepping back, the Matron waved for the younger Elaria to finally move up and grab their nectar.

Akeldama Post 5

She turned around to see if the alk had followed and when she saw that she had she smiled at her. As the ceremony began she watched with envy as the first three got their flowers and drank of Elzira's nectar. Akeldama couldn't help the feeling. However, once they had theirs and the matron opened the floor for the other Elaria she grinned and took initiative. The youngling didn't need any prompting from Ciriet to move forward or anyone else for that matter.

Once she was within touching distance of her Mother Tree, Akel tilted her head back to look toward the top. While this wasn't the tallest tree around it was certainly the most powerful. It took her only a moment to return to her task and find the flower she just knew was meant for her. Akeldama plucked the bloom gently from Elzira, lowering her head as she gave thanks for the offering, then stepped back so that she was in no one's way. Happily she consumed all that she could and gave a hum of delight at the taste. Admiring eyes stared up at the tree once more. "Thank you Mother, for the gift." There was a pause between her last word to Elzira and her moving to return to Ciriet's side.

Still holding her flower she watched what the other's did then turned to look at the outsider. "When Elzira is stronger she will provide for the Alkidikes she deems worthy too. I'll train you like an Elaria so one day you can have a bloom." Akel meant it too. Strange or not, Kiki was her Alk now.
