Shorter or not, it still didn't suit her. 'Shade' made her seem like some kind of shady person, which Sol guessed she kind of was, since she took in a strange kid and put him in a tent. At least they weren't alone; if they were he would have kicked her shin by now and run off.
As it stood his opportunity for escape came a lot sooner than he thought. When she bounced off to speak with another dance Sol had already begun to look for a way out. That is, until he caught on that they were talking about him. This didn't bode well for him at all.
"A disguise? That sounds great! Let's give it a try." Gods! This was an awful idea! How did she think she was going to disguise his looks? Cover him in white paint and put him in a dress? So this woman was shady and stupid. Just great.
Ever the actor, he moved closer to her and took her hand in his, eyes bright with excitement. "Are we going to do it now?"

He was rather excited for this. Shadiya had to frown slightly before shaking her head, "Okay then. Let's see...come this way." Reaching out a hand she gently grabbed at the boy before leading him further into the cluster of colors and people. Soon enough she stopped though and was at a rack full of clothing and silks that she began to toss around.
"I don't know if you've been to Oba, but there's plenty of wear from my home region that could help...here's a veil...I think this blue probably would suit you best. Maybe an indigo too..." Eventually Sol would find himself holding a pile of silks and clothing, "Try all that on....I also hope you don't mind, but...it's easier to hide you if you're dressed as a girl." Shadiya smiled lightly, "Can't complain though it'll get us out of here quickly."

She was like a wild storm around all the colorful silks, and embroidered cloth. At first Sol was merely an observer, watching the carnage pile up around him until he realized a great deal of it was headed his way. The little one scrambled to keep up; it was hard for little arms to hold such a bountiful pile while simultaneously picking up bits from the ground.
Oba? Oh, that would definitely throw his Papa off. That word was a hex in his household, and the one topic never discussed. If he walked out wearing anything from there his Papa wouldn't give him a second look.
As if she sensed a coming complaint Shade shut him down, and Sol was left puffing his cheeks like an annoyed rodent. He really shouldn't fuss...but a girl?
Craning his head, he looked around for a safe place to change. Motioning his head, the little one indicated his raptrix should follow him to a folding curtain, which she did so happily. Out of sight, he shucked his clothing and tried dressing himself in the decorative dancer's wardrobe. It was hard, and more than a little bit frustrating to get everything to go where he wanted it, especially since he had no idea how girls put up with it all. Finally, he was left with the veil in his hands and a haphazard outfit.
One that he nearly tripped on when walking back to Shade.

As he came back Shadiya had to swallow a laughter. He was just too adorable! If they weren't trying to get away from his pursuers the girl would enjoy the moment more. Was this what it would be like if she ever...had a child? The idea made her cheeks flush before she focused back on Sol.
"Oh my..." A little walking catastrophe right here...it would blend in beautifully with some of the entertainers at least. "Let me fix this a bit." The girl reached forward and tugged a few pieces back into a proper place and also attached a large sash around his waist to help pull it together - and shorten it for his smaller stature. The veil she placed over his features and hoped it was enough to help hide those antenna.
At the same time she bundled up his other clothing and gave it to him, "You can keep this if you want since I'm guessing you won't want to wear this once its over. But if you do then that's fine too." She grinned teasingly before gesturing towards the moving crowd, "Once we move through with them you should be home free. Are your parents nearby so that you can find them?" Her question was almost swept away as the entertainers prepared to move out for the festivities..

I look stupid. Sol picked at the clothing petulantly, fussing and grumbling even more when Shade decided to help out. Admittedly it did feel nice to be dotted on; it was a luxury in his life that Sol often took for granted. By the time she was done he was calmer, though no less embarrassed by his state of 'dress'.
Reaching for his other clothes, Sol flicked his solid silver gaze up at the Oban. She was back on the topic of his parents and he knew if he didn't leave now then she'd catch on. "It's alright, I can make it on my own now thanks to you." Sol flashed her a brilliant smile and motioned for Sev to follow him, "Thanks for everything!" I hope I never see you again. Sol ducked away from the dancer's tent with the chuffy raptrix on his heels. As he mingled in with the crowd his thoughts returned to the woman who had helped him today, and came away mixed.
Obans were bad people or so he'd been told. Sol thought that one was a little slow, but she wasn't bad. So, maybe the stories his Papa and Baba said about Oba weren't all true? Maybe. It was something to think on anyway.
Right now he had to focus on running!
