Alg nodded, frowning and plucking up Jeremiah's hand between both of his warm ones and rubbing gently. "Take out the pieces.." Take out the Enemy hopefully. "Like horcruxes.." He snorted and shook his head. His problem with the teens, Heliodora and Michael and Adoelle, was them going into this knowingly. They knew what they were in for, they knew they had done it before, which meant they also knew they were going to die (or that the chance was great). Still- he wasn't clear on how the cycles worked, how the timelines ran, and if they were linear things at all. How had Heliodora been there so long, while in their version of Ashdown it had only been months? Too much. Too confusing. Timey Wimey."What did it say?" Because calling the phantom an IT was easier than asking Jeremiah what HIS SELF said.

There was so much they did not know. Worse that they had to piece meal this together from so many sources. Jeremiah's fingers flexed in and out in Algie's, warmth returning to it and his rattled nerves being eased. He took a long drag of his cigarette, letting the smoke out with a shaky breath. "Sunny is kin, not kind and-" A breath. "I don't see her the way others do or I'd understand." His eyes reflected back the light of his cigarette a moment, taking on that eerie quality they had now, as he looked to his lover. "Then maybe I'd be able to do what apparently needs to be done, have the balls for it." The words of the ghastly version of himself, not him. The silver-haired man reached and stubbed out the cigarette. It was the last one of the pack. "Sunny has to be killed and, if it's to be believed, I've never had the heart or spine to do it."

"Others.." Who were others? What did they see? He'd been told how Aleksy saw her.. is that was meant? It certainly would be easier to distance yourself from something that didn't look even remotely like a teenage girl. "Kill her..." Alg's mouth pressed into a hard line. Could either of them be a killer? It was hard to say but if it came to saving the world, or righting what's off, if they stuck to thinking about her like a thing, like a creature, perhaps they could. "Perhaps all of you get too close." Alg mused as the cigarette was snuffed out. "And think of her as a child.. as a girl.."

Jeremiah's expression faltered a moment, something insecure and dark, before he simply sighed. "I honestly have no idea what I think of her right now." It was the truth because part of him felt as if she had been dealt a sorry lot. There was more to it than that but that was sme of it. Jeremiah was sympathetic towards her even after everything she had done, had said. His heart was soft but did Sunny really deserve to be in a place where he cared? He picked up the piece of paper, the one emblazoned with YOUR FAULT, and turned to slide it folded up into the journal he kept now. Everything had already been written down, what he had experienced. "It honestly seems a contradiction because I asked how I was supposed to see her for what she really is ..." Jeremiah looked towards Algie again, fingers finding his once more. His hands had warmed. "I was told to try asking her." The look on his face said exactly what he thought about that.

Algie had never quite trusted Sunny and when he'd tried to be nice she only got nasty. He didn't have the time or care to deal with that. Better he think her a monster. Easier really. "I know you don't want to. But you could." Alg tangled his hand tightly with Jeremiah, "Of course then she'll know you were thinking about it. Maybe some other you got this far before. She is a bitter spiteful thing though." Alg lifted his lover's hand and pressed his lips to the back of it before holding it to his cheek, idly leaning his face to it, "She also may respond very badly to it. Heliodora said Sunny just wants to be born." Which seems quite the bit opposite of dying.

Jeremiah would always be touched by Sunny's memories, by the very real fear of hers that he had felt, by the wonder, by that moment she had lifted him up and that sky had been visible. The one that was old and open and the stars not at all the same. It was part of why he had trouble reconciling, why he still held hope. "Perhaps if I stop waiting for there to be a reason to talk to her, or for her to come to me, it might go better." His fingers stroked Algie's cheek, watching him and leaning to press a kiss to his forehead. "Considering she is already here, I've no idea what that implies. If she's part of that place, if she's a child of it ..." He leaned back, shaking his head. "Everything pushes back towards Sunny whether I like it or not."

Algie hated all of this. He hated that something as simple as living was tainted and unpleasant. Every move or thought threw to something dire. Every decision rested on some fine line of dramatics and now they were possibly at the whim of a supernatural entity wearing the face and feelings of a person. But she wasn't one and she didn't fail to inform people of it. "You'll handle it. We'll handle it together." Alg sighed and leaned against Jeremiah again. His unoccupied hand dinged a piano key lightly, "And when you're ready you'll see her.." And if they had to.. well they may have to figure out how to kill her.

It was a dark thought to consider: killing Sunny. Jeremiah reached back to the piano with a hand, taking a moment to lead Algie's through a few notes. "Of course," he agreed, "there's no other way I would want it." With the other. His hand stopped and reached to brush against the signet ring on the other's finger, thumb sliding along the warm metal. "I have thought," he admitted quietly after being quiet for a little while, "about using my favor to find out about the pieces."

Algie watched their hands until Jeremiah mentioned the favor and he frowned. "The favor worries me. Like a bloody genie wish or something." He sighed and shook his head, "What do you want to find out?"

"If it's like horcruxes, Alg, then knowing about them could help us." Jeremiah paused a moment, his hand squeezing the other's briefly. "As it stands, I've become less comfortable having the favor still there. I'm not rushing into using it but I would rather be out from underneath it." It was something that he did not like having.

"I'm just concerned about unforseen loop holes... fine print.. some literal interpretation garbage that will make us worse off than we started.." Even with the knowledge. It seemed like everything had a price, even if Sunny's friendship had been the supposed cost. He didn't trust anything. "Your last deal's threat never came to fruition.." Alg frowned, "Who's say anyone here keeps to deals at all or what they say is trustworthy?" Which meant things could get worse at the whim of any mystical thing.

"That is exactly why I've not taken advantage of it but also why I want to be out from under it. With how things have been going, I worry that there will be a point that I will find myself forced to use it." Whether he wanted to or not. It was a valid concern and he would prefer to use it on his own terms than someone else's. "... and for all I know, Sunny's behavior - the way she's been acting - is simply part of the punishment for breaking it." Which he did not like and did not, for his own mental health, dwell on. He was still going to do his best to bring the other two home but- "No one is ever what they seem." The only ones they could trust implicitly were in the room.

Alg clutched Jeremiah's hand tightly a moment, "I trust you to make the right choice I just... don't want to screw up our lives any more than they are." He let go to lean for his pipe again. It had gone out so he poked it with a wide fingertip before lighting it with a match and puffing again. "If I'm doomed to die and repeat- I suppose I'd like to enjoy what I've got while I've got it."

"I know and I'm trying to avoid that." Jeremiah's fingers were tight around Algie's. "Too much has already happened." The cold had faded leaving him only with the faint ache that he came and went. He had to let go when the other went for his pipe, watching as he lit it and puffed. It was a very real concern of his that they would die - that it had happened before - and this between them- Jeremiah and Algie would not be able to enjoy it, to revel in it, because this was something they had both wanted for years and only now found. "We will, Alg enjoy it ..." He leaned against the other. "... and we'll do our best to not end up with the same fate as those that came before us." Jeremiah nosed along Algie's neck, brushing along his jaw. A hand came up and tilted his head the moment the pipe was pulled away from his lover's mouth. Definitely stealing smoke and a kiss. "Besides, we're going to have that time to ourselves when we go back to England," he said in a quiet breath, exhaling and smiling a little. "We'll make time if this place won't give it to us."

Jeremiah's nuzzle to his neck and jaw gave Algie the pleasant swell of love and affection that had him returning the smokey kiss with a satisfied sort of sigh. He rested his forehead against the other man's a moment and nodded. The trip would be a good break, even if it was short and essentially for work. He wouldn't complain. He'd take what he could get and Jeremiah coming with him meant a lot (he'd probably be a miserable wreck without him in all honesty). The house was starting to smell like food and since Jeremiah wasn't actively cooking he could only assume something had been heating up. "Warmer now?" It was safe to steer the conversation away now, now that Jeremiah wasn't playing disjointed moody piano solos anymore and didn't feel like an ice cube. "Wouldn't mind dinner.." He smirked, moving to press a kiss to the side of his spouse's neck before leaning back with look. "And then maybe a lie in."
