"Just...the one time when I first got sent there, I mean I had no idea what happened and I went to familiar places." He shrugged. "I didn't try and raid files or anything, I think at that point I was just looking for signs of life." He reached up and rubbed a thumb against the edge of his ear, tugged slightly at one of the piercings there. "... Ended up at the Library" He looked back up with a curious glance. "Was that where you went?" He asked curious. "I mean it would make sense, I just don't know if I'd be as well positioned to know if anything was super out of place or not. Most things aren't - it's just like this, dull, rainy version of our town with lots of... creepy creatures."

"Indirectly. I had not gone there in person, but I dreamed of that place. Completely abandoned, and Mercer's desk had a scorched hand print on it," he stated with a shrug. "The time I actually went, I ended up in the park while I was out jogging. That was a rather jarring and unexpected experience. I have not yet run into any 'creepy creatures', though I have heard a little bit about a few of them."

"I... think a good rule of thumb is to be really careful if they offer deals. Like... be sure you at least think you have a good understanding of what you're giving up, or what they are going to take later." He rubbed the back of his neck remembering the owl-creature. Stupidly, he sort of missed it. "Some though, they take offense if you don't make a deal." he said sounding troubled. "I got Autumn hurt that way..."

Shun gave a nod, "That seems like sound advice in general. Not necessarily just when dealing with... entities such as what is found on the other side."There was a tilt of his head as Zac continued on, mentioning Autumn. "Was there no way to compromise in this deal?"

Zac shook his head. “No… He wanted my heart in exchange for… saving someone else’s… which I thought the someone else was literal, but apparently its not and. It’s… it’s complicated. But when I said no, well.” He took a breath and let it out in a guilt-laden sigh. “I thought if it hurt anyone it would hurt me, and that would have been fine, but it went after her.” “Anyhow, um, yeah no most of them don’t want to…barter or deal. At least not that I've seen.” He shook his head.

Shun slowly tilted his head. If it wasn't literal... did that mean the thing that wanted the deal wanted Zac to love it? That was a bizarre thought. "I will... keep that in mind. It almost sounds as though you have some sort of magical stalker on your hands now... in a way, though," he remarked with a furrowed brow. "In any case, Autumn seems to be fine. So perhaps it worked out in the end."

“Well, no I think that one was being literal, it was the first one that I was trying to protect…because there were mentions of hearts being ripped out, that one turned out to be metaphorical.” He did nod at the mention of Autumn though. “…She is, like…the Disney Princess of Ashdown, She heals, she talks to animals, she’s crazy amazing.”

"...She talks to animals too? Is...that why she has deer horns now?"Shun only knew about the healing. "As far as I know, the only thing I can do is lift some things with my mind."Which was fairly useful in its own right, he felt.

“… I have no idea why the deer horns.” He admitted shaking his head. “Though, after the Job fair…” He shrugged. “After that I’m not sure if I’d see anything short of… Godzilla appearing would surprise me.” He did look surprised and thoughtful though at the mention of moving objects with his mind. “Well, you got a cooler trick than I do.” He gave a small nervous grin. “I just um… well I pinch people, or things, that’s all I can do that is really apparent.” He shrugged helplessly. “… You should ask Detective Mercer about his tricks some time.” His grin widened slightly.

Shun really hoped that something on the scale of Godzilla couldn't leak over to this side. How would they be able to deal with something like that? On the other side, people could at least throw fireballs or whatever they could do magically at it. Here... there was also the issue of covering it up. Would it even be possible to do that at that point? "I know of some of his tricks," he nodded. The seeing things and the perfect accuracy. If he had anything else, he wasn't aware of them. "Things did not start for me until after the library incident... I think my exposure to the portal or... whatever may have caused me to be affected."

“… Maybe.” Zac nodded thoughtfuly. “… I hadn’t thought about it that way, I wonder if there are more than a few ways we can be exposed.” He rubbed at the back of his neck and looked thoughtful. I know you can sort of, slip through in a lot of places, people who walk through town might find themselves exposed and just never know it.”

"There was one other who gained powers, but not the dreams yet, shortly after the incident at the library. Other than that, I cannot really say. I can only speak for my own experiences for the most part," Shun shrugged. "Though... if that had not just been some coincidence, and exposure really does play a part in things, we may have more people like us in the near future. I do not think the leakage of magic will staunch too soon, unfortunately."

‘Yeah… but, it does give me a good thing to see if we can look into it some how” He scratched out notes onto his notebook and looked distracted. “… I think Detective Mercer can see doors, but it’d really take knowing everyone in town and seeing how many times they passed doors to be able to tell.” He grimaced and let out a frustrated sigh because the logistics just didn’t work. There was no way to predict who might be sucked in next, not realistically. Not unless… Not unless you were a certain flower seller.

Shun shook his head at that, "That would not be very practical, and he probably has better use of his time and abilities than to people watch all day like that."Closing his eyes, he took a moment to think over other possibilities. "Could potentially try and find a correlation, based on people's experiences in the past thus far, but that would not say much as far as figuring out who is most likely to be sucked into all of this. Autumn stated that she has noticed no real common thread between any of us thus far."

“Yeah… there isn’t really a way to do it, It’d mean people had to be able to see the doorways.” He shook his head. “…thank you for stopping to talk though, it at least let me learn some new things, is…is there anything else I can help answer your questions?”
