User ImageThe sigh before his answer made it seem like Rowan really wasn't into this, and his never-changing expression didn't help, but his description was almost beautiful. Solemn, yes, but there was still some lightness to it. Once again, he demonstrated, almost creating a copy of himself, but this was...another Rowan, right? Such a story...in all of her life dealing with those passed, she'd never heard of such a knowledge. What else...was he keeping from her? Blake wanted to ask more than anything but knew such an endeavor would only lead to no results. "That's...pretty amazing..." The woman was mostly lost in thought, but the comment still slipped from under her breath anyway. "I wonder..." Did he not trust her? At all? Even though she was supposed to trust him with her life? Perhaps he didn't want to show her for another reason and was even hiding more. Blake began wondering whether or not Rowan was being entirely honest with his memory situation. Her vision was with her Astral Hound, watching the roads ahead. A small group of Eldrin soldiers were approaching.

They were nicer to her Knight than most people back at home. A couple people must've enjoyed his company, but the fact of the matter almost made her sad. Rowan's push for Eldrin didn't help either, but...That's where she lived, where she grew up. Was that fair of her? Of him? There were some things that ate at Blake for a whilte. At least they'd find some neat stuff! When they arrived to the place, Rowan picked up a longsword, offering to give it to Blake
. "Yeah, I wouldn't know what do to with something as heavy as that." The suggestion even seemed silly but Blake didn't comment. Instead, she pressed her hand against the sword, verifying its contents, and took the time to create a smaller version of it before the man attached it to his belt. "You should see if Tye's interested, though..." Blake realized that Rowan was most likely not going to acknowledge the man but out here, maybe a new weapon is just what one would need!

Rowan simply sighed as Blake told him that maybe Tye wanted the blade for himself. The man, clearly not wanting to acknowledge the fledgling, merely removed the blade from his waste and tossed it over to Blake so that she could hand it off to the other man. It would be her job to coordinate the interactions between the two from now on, as Rowan did not want to have to deal with the pushy male. "Enjoy it." He merely stated in his usual tone as he continued to walk through the forest. Blake had decided not to press the issue of his powers any further, surprising Rowan just a little bit as he had expected her to start pressuring him for details. After all, the young woman was a curious little Mage that wanted nothing more than to learn about magic all the time, way too curious for her on good. The thing was, however, that the less she knew about him then the better off she would be. Especially since she did not know he was Ian, and finding that out so late into him being revived would do nothing but put stress on the poor woman.

"They aren't amazing at all. They're standard. They just make me less useless than your average human, more than I can say for other people." Rowan commented, continuing to trek through the forest. After about an hour, however, he realized that the three of them had gotten lost at some point, an unfortunate turn of events. With a sigh, he turned towards his elf companion and spoke in a rather irritated tone. "Your dog got us lost... Isn't it supposed to keep things like this from happening by scouting ahead?" He asked her, almost furious with her inability to have her astral hound do one thing right. Was she really in absolute control of the beast, or was she just pretending she was and letting it do whatever it wanted to? Rowan could neither confirm nor deny anything of the sort, but he could definitely blame her for their current situation. "Whatever. Let's just get everything set up so that we don't get eaten alive." Rowan stated to his Mage, sitting down at the base of a tree and looking towards her. "You're the one with the creation spells, get to making stuff then." He stated, obviously being absolutely useless in this department.

He had confidence in her magic though, that she would be able to create at least some protection from the night. Once she had begun whatever she was doing, he would gather up some wood and other supplies and bring it to their makeshift campsite. Once he had enough wood to make a fire, he simply lit it with his demonfire, watching as the wood began to smolder. "I guess it has more than just use in combat." He muttered to himself, sitting rather close to the fire given his affinity. The heat did not bother him at all, but it might have bothered some of his companions. He, however, preferred his current position near the fire. "Let me guess, shaking in you boots because we're out in the wild?" He asked his Mage, wondering if she was starting to let fear get a hold of her since they would be camping outside for the night, especially this deep in the forest. "You've never gone this far in, have you?" He asked her, curious as to whether or not she had made it this far into the forests of the unexplored region. They had actually covered quite a bit of ground.

User ImageBlake couldn't help but sigh and roll her eyes at her partner's somewhat childish decision to use his mage as an intermediary for conversation with Tye. "Here, if you want it: it's yours. Sorry about Sassy McGee over there." What a pain. Suddenly, Blake was starting to feel like the baby sitter, and the thought made her chuckle a bit.

It seemed to be quite some time before Rowan stepped into her view, interrupting her train of thought. At his accusation, she made a face.
"Lost, what do you mean lost? Wait, you don't know where we are, either?! Geez." The young woman collapsed to her knees. They'd be walking for what felt like forever and news like that just did not put the mind at ease. The fact that he was solely blaming Blake for this situation was rather frustrating, as well... It couldn't be helped, though, and the lady wasn't in the mood to fight him. With the suggestion of setting up camp, the girl shrugged before getting to work. "Hey, I need you three to watch the perimeter for me," Blake called aloud to the undead dogs. "Howl if there are any issues. Go on," she shooed the dire wolves away, almost as big as she was, to go keep watch.

Then, Blake got to work. She pulled wood from trees to make a somewhat large skeletal structure, and used the steel from her sword for fortifications then watched Rowan light a fire with almost no effort at all. Her eyes lit up in fascination. Her Knight then sat next to the heat, and Blake couldn't help but to head over for a moment.
"I'm going to need this," she said as she lightly pressed glowing fingertips to his back. Different kinds of cloth were going to be needed to create something decent for a tent and bed rolls, sleeping bags. As she was about to leave him, his question stopped her. "Hmm? Well...not really. It's not as bad. I was out here once, looking for you. Well, no one in particular at that time, but I was hoping I could find a trinket or a treasure that could link me to someone I could look to as a Knight. It might be to your surprise, but I even snuck out without a permit, how 'bout that? I wasn't really...fond of it, though. I am glad I found you, though, and forgive me now if that's too sentimental." The woman bowed to him sarcastically before turning around and finishing their tent.

"All done!"
she called out when finished. It was large enough for the three of them and then some. She wasn't going to admit it, but Rowan was only slightly right. Being out this far did kind of make her nervous, and she didn't want to be in a tent alone. With that, she collapsed near the fire, not nearly as closely as Rowan. She had taken her ponytail out at some point during her work, her long hair falling around her. "Annnd, I'm beat. That was way too much magic in one day, but...It looks nice." She was mostly speaking to herself, more tired than anything, as she gazed into the flames with a sleepy smile.

"You, sneaking around without a permit and skulking off into unknown lands? Color me impressed." Rowan stated, pulling out the pendant and flashing it around a little bit as he continued to speak. "Although I should be somewhat thankful. If you hadn't found this then I wouldn't be in this forest today, enjoying myself. You did good in bringing me some small enjoyment over these last few months, much more than the start." He stated to herself, closing his eyes and basking in the warmth of the fire. Obviously he could not get away with just thanking her outright, but needed to throw a bit of abrasiveness in there as well. Just being outright kind would be too much for her to take in, after all. Earlier today was a perfect example of how him being too nice to her set her up to get especially upset with him after he began insulting her. Then again... it took a while to finally dig into her skin, so maybe it was the opposite effect? Either way, it was bad for him to be outwardly kind with nothing else hidden in his attitude.

After a few hours of sitting by the fire, he made his way into the tent before anyone else and found a nice spot for him to sleep while in an upright, sitting position. He did not want to lay down here, as it would prevent him from moving as quickly as he could should he be sitting. In this forest, it was all about how quick one was when attacked, and being caught unawares was the perfect way to get himself killed, and Blake. He was not aware of when the other two came to the tent to sleep, as he passed out rather quickly upon entering the tent. He had exerted quite a bit of energy throughout their journey today between the wolves and the giant spider. Not to mention getting lost had worn him down a little bit too. It was not long before he found himself drifting off to sleep.

(And then it was morning.)

Rowan awoke as usual, his eyes suddenly opening after dreaming of nothingness, a void that would never be filled no matter what. They burst open as if they would fly out of his head and instantly began to scan around the tent, his body not moving at all as he began to control his breathing a little bit. Actually... he was having a bit more difficulty in breathing that usual... less than a percentage point of difficulty, but something was definitely off. It was only until he looked down that he was met with the sight of Blake buried into his chest, much like yesterday. Only this time, she was sleeping and hugging onto him like he was some giant teddy bear. The sheer sight of it made him want to pluck her up by the head and toss her straight out of the tent, regardless of whether the fire was still going on the other side. This woman had a lot of nerve to get this close to him in the middle of the night, especially after yesterday's events and her hound getting them lost. Rowan, however, quietly sighed and tried to calm himself down so as to not do anything rash. Instead... he merely waited for the girl to wake up.

This, however, was obviously a mistake. This was Blake after all, and what did she do best? Sleep in. After an hour of simply sitting, waiting, he finally put his Armament-infused hand on top of her head and shook her a bit to wake her up. When she finally woke up, he would not remove his hand but simply stare her in the eyes with a cold, blank expression on his face. "There's one of two options for you right now. You can let go of my body and we can act like this never happened... or you can freak out and I pry you off of me. Regardless, you're being removed like the leech you are." He stated to her, comparing her to the blood-sucking creatures that attached to people when they swam through lakes. Honestly, it was very uncomfortable comparison that might leave her feeling a tad hurt, but what was a day without Rowan hurting someone's feelings at least one time. Rowan, depending on which course of action was taken, would soon be getting ready to leave and exiting the tent in a rather disgruntled fashion, obviously perturbed about being snuggled against in the middle of the night.

"Hurry it up! I'd rather not spend two nights in this forest, especially not this deep in. We were lucky we weren't attacked!" Rowan stated to Blake rather aggressively. It was obvious that the morning's events would probably linger in his mood throughout the day. On the bright side, it should show how he lacked any embarrassment when it came to Blake and simply treated her as another human being rather than some beautiful woman that needed protecting. To him... she was simply his Mage that he protected out of duty, no other reason. Well... at least that was the reason he would portray and give should anyone ask him why he did his job. After waiting on Blake to collect her things and get everything together, Rowan would begin to set out on their journey once again. "I'm pretty sure we're getting to the end of this little adventure. Whatever's up ahead, make sure you stay behind me and let me deal with it. I can't risk you getting hurt." Rowan called out to Blake, his head tilted back slightly but not facing her, the corner of his left eye barely visible to her. It was obvious he was looking back at her as minimally as possible so as to keep an eye on the path ahead.

User ImageThe pendant had caught her eye when Rowan tugged out the necklace. Whenever she saw it, she had to stop and stare for a moment, to remember what it- who it resembled, Blake's own sort of "moment of silence." Her gaze switched to him, a little more than shocked. She stretched her lips into a hard line, trying her best not to smile in case he turned around. There was no stopping it, however. Blake had always been afraid Rowan actually had downright hated absolutely everything as he usually said he did. The woman almost felt like crying tears of joy. Of course, he tried his best to cover it up with some slight bad-mouthing, but the whole point of this trip was to let him cut loose. The half-elf was glad it was successful.

Blake spoke with Tye for a while after her Knight had gone to bed, asking him the odd question every here and there. If he dared to flirt with her, she didn't put it down at this point, far too tired for much more than a regular chat. After some time, the woman stood groggily, eyes half-shut, and headed toward the darkly colored tent. The young woman usually hated getting like this, whenever she was close to being out on her feet, there was usually a much stronger connection with the ethereal realm. Blake wasn't really in the mood to see any ghosts, but in the darkness of the tent, she followed a familiar sensation... the warmth from a particular soul... Trinity smiled and snuggled up to the feeling before falling unconscious.

Quite a few dreams struck her that night, but none in particular would stand out to her in the morning, all having gone by in a haze.

"I'll help you find who...you are...Rowan..." she mumbled, burying her into whatever she'd ended up crashing on. Blake was somewhere in between sleep and consciousness. Is this left over body heat from me? I'm not this hot, am I? She thought before all the answers came to her, Rowan's hand nudging her awake. "Uhnn, what...?" she groaned, groggily looking up to meet the frigid gaze of her Knight. As always, whenever she met eyes with him, her heart skipped a beat. Her irises made the transition of the haze of sleep and terror of realization. Not only had she fallen asleep on him but stayed that way all night?! Her face turned a bright shade of red before he spoke with threats of what Blake could only assume death. Quickly, the woman rolled off of him while trying to compose herself. "S-Sorry," she stammered a little surprised that even she did something like that.

After a moment or two of sitting like that, the elf finally composed herself and decided to prepare for the day. She threw her hair back up in its proper style and grabbed the essentials before making sure Tye was all set, as well. The party headed out of their camp and back onto the road, and Rowan addressed her with slight tilt of his head. "Yeah, sure." Listening to him this far out was probably the best idea.

Blake's statements disgruntled him slightly, that she was going to help him find out who he was. Still, he tried to push that to the back of his mind as he traveled through the forest, choosing to forget the morning's events in an attempt to save the poor girl from anymore embarrassment. Rowan could not help but feel, however, that the woman was starting to form too close an attachment to him, the events from yesterday having set off some sort of chain reaction. Never had the young woman behaved as she did this past night, having preferred to keep to separate rooms and such. Maybe it was simply due to them being in such close proximity, but he would have to make sure to keep his guard up around her from here on out, so that she would not try anything or become too attached to him. If I can help it, I'd like to make sure she stays as far away from me as possible. I don't want her learning too much... and I especially don't want her to learn who I am when she's doing so well now. He thought to himself, thinking about how he girl had developed over the last few months compared to when she believed she could bring Ian back to life. The little does of false reality did well to keep the woman from believing she could toy with the lives of others.

Their trek through the forest, however, was cut short by the appearance of something that instantly caused Rowan to go into high-alert. Five dragons were descending down upon them, and they were not even children. They were young, yes, but these creatures were far more dangerous than anything he could have expected this far into the forest. Any normal party would have fled the forest at the sight of these creatures... but Rowan wanted to test just how far he could go. This would be how he gauged his limits... hopefully. "Hide now and don't you dare leave where you're hiding, either of you! These things will kill you instantly!" Rowan shouted to his party, informing them to move away from him. Blake may have been slightly aware of Gram's dragon-slaying properties, but she did not know anything other than the arm's base form and status as a parasite-like Armament. I'll have to save that as my trump card... at least for now. He thought to himself, his left hand clenching slightly as if wanting to take a hold of the blade that hung on the small of his back. "Blake... whatever you see... whatever happens... don't do anything. And if you have to, run and don't look back!" The young man shouted to his companion... his Mage. Surely, these creatures would kill them if they tried to run or fight them. Hiding was the best choice... but Rowan knew that there was still a chance that they could target Blake. And if that chance existed, he would make sure to reduce it as close to zero as possible.

As Rowan began to walk forward, the dragon's seemed to gain some sort of awareness of him, a fear almost. There was a deathly aura emanating off of him that was unlike anything that had been seen before, a genuine killing intent that wanted nothing more than to slay the creatures before him. This was unlike the wolves, unlike the spider. "Five... huh? I guess I can't hold back at all against you all." He stated, his eyes suddenly opening wide. The man's body tensed itself as the dragon's prepared themselves for whatever he was about to do. After a second, Rowan's body blurred as he moved at incredible speeds, the man pushing his body on top of using the physical enhancements granted to him as a Knight with a Mage. However, it seemed as if one of the creatures predicted where he was going, slashing very clearly at him as he moved along his intended path. The attack, however, went through him. No, it did not cleave through him and kill him, but merely passed through him as if he were some sort of ghost or something. Rowan's speed ended up pushing him into a tree, feet first, the bark splintering and being destroyed from the impact of him hitting the tree so hard.

In the next instant he was gone, having jumped from the tree and cracking it a great deal. His body flung through the air as he landed squarely into a dragon's side, his feet planting into the creature. The impact did nothing to it, but now he had a vantage point of the other four. "Tch!" He sounded off, his eyes widened as he propelled himself downward. In that instant, however, he let go of Demon's Bane with his right hand and spun, gripping it with the Demonic Arm: Gram. His body seemed to be enveloped in flames as they swirled around him, transforming the blade into a larger, bulkier sword with engravings and a dark coloration. Yes, this weapon was the long-lost Balmung, an Armament said to have been destroyed many years ago. In reality, however, it was simply a part of Gram, having been lost along with the Demonic Arm Gram. They were one and the same. Rowan's body hit the ground in front of one of the dragons, cracking the earth as he landed with his blade in front of him, both hands wielding it as if he had sliced downwards with it. Actually... he had. It would be apparent just how frightening the genocidal weapon was as the head of the green dragon before him split open, blood pouring everywhere.

Rowan, not missing a beat, instantly moved and began dodging around, knocking back attacks as if they were nothing with Balmung. It was not a matter of strength, but simply match-ups. Any other Armament-user would have an insanely difficult time fighting these dragons, however he possessed a dragon-slaying Armament. Coupled with his ethereal form, the creatures were unable to harm him as he moved through their bodies and attacks, dodging around and retaliating as best he could.

Oh boy! A Very High-level encounter! Prepare yourselves!

A strange screeching would warn anyone of what was coming: dragons. As they land before the party, acid drools from their mouths, scorching the Earth, their green scales shining in the sunlight. Younglings, there are five of them, and they seem hungry...

However, something's off. As soon as they catch sight of one of the party members, they began to shake their heads, taking a couple steps back. They were wary of...something.
