He gave a small laugh and ducked his head. “Thanks.” He said with a smile. “I just hope you’ll like them too… and I know we’ll have some good books to curl up with cats. I can safely say we field test books for that.” He grinned – still red faced “Here… Come on Mog.” He said and crouched, the slender white cat chirped and hopped onto his knee, then his shoulder, once perched Zac stood again, his cat swaying slightly on his new perch before settling and looking like a very pleased scarf. “With a little luck we might even find something your cat might like listening to as well!” “Oh! Um… ah… if you like tea, there is a really nice tea shop too, Sometimes I bring Alg tea from there…she does more than tea but, its pretty awesome”

"That's handy," she laughed. "He's really well trained! Or did it just come naturally?" She was a bit awed, to be honest. Fiene was not so well taught and Naz had to bend down to gently scoop her up into her arms, resulting in a purring chirp from the ginger tabby as she was picked up and settled into her new position. "Your hair's all wet from all that washing," she murmured with a hint of a laugh in her voice to the content kitty. Fiene only gave a slow blink and cuddled into her human. Turning back to Zac and Mogget, she grinned brightly, "that would be nice! As long as we're together I seriously think she'll be happy with just about anything, though. She's a pretty easy kitty." At the mention of beverages, her brows perked slightly; "does she do hot chocolate? I mean tea is nice, but hot chocolate is divine."

“Um… Not sure she does, she’s more a teas and herbal essences kind of shop.” He mused. “Though she’s right next door to the Store HoneyPop, they do chocolate…um…well almost everything. I know there is another candy store too I just can’t remember the name off the top of my head.” He admitted. “As for Mogget well…I think he more or less trained me. I mean, it takes only a few times of seeing ‘that look’ in his eyes before he scales you like a jungle gym before you start catching it in advance.” He flushed. “Sooooo let’s go with natural.” “Your girl is so good natured, its easy to see you’re a good cat-parent.” He smiled earnestly.

"I'll scope them out then, though if worse comes to worse, tea is just fine! Hot chocolate is just a personal preference and I've learnt to make do over the years - not a ton of stores that make it for you." At his words she laughed brightly, "I can imagine! You don't exactly forget the precursor to something like that. It's cute, though, something that's just for you two, yeah?" Slightly shifting Fiene's position in her arms for a better grip, she smiled warmly to Zac. "Thanks, that... that really means a lot. I only got her recently, you know? Had her for less than a month altogether. She was a moving gift from my parents, and probably the best gift I ever got, honestly."

“Well, it’s pretty clear she loves you, so good for you on that front!” “And… naw… Mogget will climb other people too, just sometimes he’s more polite about it!” He’ll reach up and tap your leg, so if you see him do that, safer is to pick him up.” He gave a small shy shrug. He’s just utterly unabashed about being direct with me.” “Here just up here.” He added and pointed towards the bookstore in question. The familiar converted house “That one is the bookstore, if the name wasn’t a give away. Did you want to go in? I can at least show you some covers…”

"It's a good sign that he's unabashed with you, I think! Means he's completely comfortable with you." At least she was pretty sure it did. And then Zac was pointing out the shop and Nazriya had to huff a small laugh; "wow, you really weren't kidding when you said it was close by. And yeah, sure! Let's go have a look." Moving to stand next to him, she waited for him to lead the way with an open smile.

He gave a small laugh. “Yeah… you can of tell I don’t go too far, I mean, not normally. Sometimes I do but… if you want to search me down this and the tea shop are some easy spots to guess at.” He grinned sheepishly and rubbed at Mogget’s chin. “I think…actually I think we probably have a town map inside, I’ll make sure we get you one” He offered a smile “That way you’ll know you’re way around, you can find a few good landmarks and it will fold up nice for a wallet or purse.”

"I'll keep that in mind," she gave him a rakish grin and a wink. "We actually live pretty nearby here, so you'll probably see me around." The rakish grin faded down to a warm smile at his kind offer, though. "Thank you, I'd really appreciate that - I've kind of just been picking a direction and giving it a go, you know? Do town maps have all the stores and whatnot on them?"

"Not -all- the stores, but you can get a pretty good idea where the good shopping areas are, and some of the more historic buildings. After that you can sorta trick out your map with highlighter and gel pens." "OH! And check out the bulletin boards anywhere that has them. If you need to find anything its a good place to start. Some people still don't like the Offer-boards and you can find good deals."

Nazriya nodded with a soft hum of understanding; it was really good advice and she'd be sure to take it. "That's a greatidea! It'll definitely help me keep better track of this city, I reckon. And be a bit of a fun project, too - can't get much better than that, yeah?" "Bulletin boards..." She thought for a moment before continuing, "I think I've seen a few of those around but I haven't really paid attention to them. But bulletin boards are good stuff, noted! Really, you're a hero for helping me out with all this advice, you know? If there was a class for assimilating new people into Ashdown I'd recommend you as teacher any day," she finished with a grin.

He ducked his head and rubbed the back of his neck, cheeks hot with the compliment. “I appreciate it, I think you’ll find there are a lot of good people around here though, it’s a…it’s a good town for as odd as it can be. But um…” He hastily covered. “I mean, every town can be odd you know? As ever, it was his preference that people not have to be faced with the –oddities- of this town. She seemed way too nice to be dropped head first into it…but… Maybe he could make her a kit, for later, just in case.

"Everyone I've met so far have been splendid, to be honest with you! I'm starting to think this might be paradise on earth; all you need is free healthcare, really." Okay, that was a bit of an exaggeration, but she really did like Ashdown so far. "Yeah, I'm sure every town has its oddities - that's just how things work! Weird traditions and sayings and whatnot, every place has them." She hadn't run into anything particularly odd here, that she could think of anyway; the few things that had been had been more Americans-in-general oddness rather than Ashdown-specifically oddness.

“Well, if you run into questions about the town, since I know it can be… sorta different, You’ll know a good place to find me.” He smiled. “If I don’t know the answers, probably someone I know does… so I’ll be happy to try and show you around, promise.” He nodded. “I’ll show you were some of those books are, and um, we can put the ones you want on hold, and I’ll have them behind the counter! If you stop by tomorrow or Friday I have shifts after school lets out, and I can help you mark off places on your map as a start.” he grinned.

"Sure, that sounds great! By all means, lead on," she gestured with a hand, keeping a good grip on Fiene with the other one. Zac was a great kid and she was really lucky to have run into him; already she was planning to keep the map and a pen with her when she went out so she could mark things. And she was sure they'd be able to find some good books together - she was imagining curling up with her ginger tabby on a rainy day, with a cup of hot chocolate and one of her soon-to-be-newly-acquired books. It was a nice daydream, if she did say so herself. And honestly, she'd probably be popping around the bookstore every so often just for the company - her new friend and Mogget made good company, after all. And Fiene might need her hair done, at that.

He opened the door for them both, stepping to one side with the door chime making a pleasant small sound as he swung it wide. “Come on, I’ll take you to the section where we keep most of the Gaiman stuff first.” He offered. “I think we have to order a copy of Deerskin, but I can lend you my copy if we need.” There wasn’t much more that they could today, but they could at least put things on hold for her to come back, and …maybe he’d make that kit so that it would be ready when she came back in.
