"Having correct information is crucial for just about anything... so I am glad you are taking this time to help me get up to speed," Shun said quietly. The situation was worse than he imagined, but he felt like it hasn't entirely sunk in. That probably was the case, really. "So why do you call our foe the Gardener then?"

"When I was in the hospital, after one of my first trips to Other Ashdown, a friend of mine from the other side came and visited me. They told me the story, and kind of used like. Gardening and wild rose imagery." Autumn smiled a bit at the memory. It had been a while before her healing had come into its own, and Pax's visit had been one of the saving graces of that hellish adventure. She... Really needed to go see Pax again.

Shun tilted his head. He supposed that made some sense. "Man made out of fire... noted. I take it he is an agent of the Gardener to some degree? Or is he just some other a*****e?"Just the sound of a guy made out of fire seemed bad news enough. Though... the detective had to wonder if a good hose would be sufficient to deal with an entity like that. "...Is he actually worse than the Gardener, for that matter?"

"Just some other a*****e, as far as I know." Autumn shrugged. "He burnt the s**t out of my lungs, and I didn't stick around long enough to make further conversation with the guy." Just a bit, she shuddered. The memory of the pain... the helplessness in the hospital.
Never again. Never ******** again.
"As for if he's worse? I don't think so. He doesn't have a running headcount on me, that I'm aware of."

Shun eyed Autumn for a moment or so, "Your lungs were straight up burned and you still breathe normally today?"He wasn't a medical expert, but that sounded like something that would cripple those organs, if it didn't just kill her instead. Shaking his head, he sat back in his seat, drinking some more of his tea. "I suppose we do not have much information as to how to deal with him either thus far? Given his description I am inclined that a lot of water would be sufficient but it is not that simple either, I bet."

"I'm a healer. It's not the weirdest thing I've experienced here lately." She shrugged, kind of nonchalant. Honestly, it was one of those things she had to try not to think too hard about. If she remembered the burning man- really let herself stew in it-

"...You heal?"Shun had miss most of the exchange between Autumn and the one wounded girl in the library. He had mostly only seen her bolting on out in fear, covered in blood. Tilting his head, he thought about all of this some more, trying to think of what else she may be able to tell him. "Should the dangerous otherbeings not be dealt with in some manner? The Gardener surely is not working alone in all of this, is it?"

"Honestly, I don't know. I couldn't tell you anything about him... except that he's our enemy." Pathetic, really. But Autumn had no idea how to even go about researching the enemy. It wasn't like she could just march up and ask him. It was all... guarded. Hidden. She could always talk to Heliodora, but it seemed like a bad time.
"I only really know... how to manage the easy stuff. Beyond that, I'm at a loss." She sighed, running a hand through her hair.

That was not what he had hoped to hear in the least. The others knew more than him, but there was still so much information that was lacking. "That is...unfortunate. It seems that we as a whole are rather unprepared for the burden we have received."His fingers rapped against the tabletop.

"Of course. Something like that should certainly come in handy," Shun nodded, "As for any immediate questions go...Do you think there is any particular reason as to why we are the ones learning and dealing with this? Is this all simply a side effect to magic leaking out into our world?"

"Honestly? Best as I see it, we did it before. That's the only connection I see in the lot of us." She quirked a smile. "So. I'm sure some weird-a** information about you, and who you were, will turn up soon." Another drink of her tea, and Autumn looked around the room.
"Gotta warn you, though. Not everyone in Ashdown is involved. Some of 'em know about the weirdness, but they're not part of it." It was... tragic and lucky, by both counts. Being free from this s**t, but still affected by it. Hopefully, they'd stay blissfully uninvolved.
"The bakery owner, Rosie, for instance. She saw the weres, but she can't go to the other side."

Shun wasn't sure how to feel about 'weird information cropping up about him'. He didn't really like the sounds of that, really. There was a fair chance that odd info wasn't going to be something particularly useful. "Believe me. I am well aware not everyone is in on this. I would say we are a stark minority. Only those who dream can cross over... it was not until very recently that I became like the rest who can."He had little intention of trying to get more people involved. Chances were that he'd only come off as someone insane anyway if he tried.

"It's so weird that it's happening to all of us at different times. I would've assumed it would be like, one giant magic awakening. But no. Not even ages, or races, or even the same time. Just sort of... surprise b***h, you're magic now." Autumn mused all of this aloud, still wishing she could find a connection. Shun wasn't the only one wanting a definitive answer of why. It still bothered her, try as she might to pretend it didn't.
"It sucks a** that so many Blackfriars people can't even cross over. No means to defend themselves, you know?"
