Margret nodded, sipping as he did. She wanted things to go as perfectly as they could. She would make sure to train rigurously and pay close attention to what was going on now and in the subsiquent lessons they would undergo together. She was very much excited about this aspect and really wanted to get to know Hawthorn more so that she could gain insight to his likes and dislikes, at least when it came to tea and tea party aspects. She blew on her tea a bit before sipping again. She watched as the other grabbed sandwachies for them and offered her to take a scone. "This all looks very good." She hesitantly reached for a scone and was glad to see Hawthorn was deminstrating proper protical for her. "You're really a bit help. Thank you so much!" She copied his actions carefully, cutting and spreading the cream. "I think my mom has a nice recipie for scones." The Bakeneko wasn't much of a baker, she hated the oven and kitchen in general becuase of the possible dangers in fact, but she was sure she could pull it off with a little help. "Did you make these?" Margret was inquiring both about the finger sandwhiches and the scones.

 "Does she?" Hawthorn asked, perking. "This was a recipe from the library. I haven't used it before, so I'm not sure if it will be any good..." He trailed off under his breath, nibbling a bite of the scone and offering a slight shrug. "It will do," he opined mildly. They were fine, but plain, un-extraordinary. He would have to play with the recipe further. "Baking has been a recent foray," he explained airily. In truth, it was a steadily growing passion, but as of yet, he still required his Caretaker's help for much of the process - either because he needed access to the schools cookery, or because he needed fresh supplies. The regiment of it, the rigour and fastidious attention to quantities, detail, composition. It was a delicious alchemy that suited his nature well. Slowly he was learning that 5 degrees longer, or 5 mls more made vast differences in the end result. Clearly, more experimentation was called for.

Margret took thoughtful nibbles of her scone and listened. "That's two things you're better at than me!" She exclaimed, mouth still full. She quickly noticed her poor manners and covered her mouth, looking away. "Ah... That was rude... I'm very sorry." She was still talking with food in her mouth, just hiding a bit now. She was completely embarrassed, choosing to wash down the feeling and the food with tea. She still had a was to go before she would be anywhere near as proper as Hawthorn, but she still wanted to try her best. She sat up straight, her face still red hot. "S-sorry again..."

Hawthorn reflexively stiffened as she started talking with her mouth full, but before the crudeness could draw a recrimination from him, she was swiftly covering her mouth and apologizing. He settled in his seat again, and offered a gracious incline of his head. "Yes, thank you," he murmured under his breath. She was trying, and that at least was worth full points. Her eagerness was admirable.
"How are you for hot water? Did you want to try another tea or perhaps some of the finger sandwiches?"

"Oh, um..." Margret contemplated getting more tea looking deeply into her cup, she was almost done with her cup after all. She sipped the last drops of her tea and addressed Hawthorn. "Oh, I think I'll be needing some more, may I try another? I'd love for you to give me some suggestions!" She took a small bit of her scone and smiled. They enjoyed the rest of their tea time together and the little Bakeneko would definitely learn how to throw a great tea party to impress her siblings and maybe Hawthorn as well. Hawthorn would be proud and her siblings would be very impressed.

Hawthorn nodded, fetching the other canisters of tea and the plate of sandwiches. "Of course, I'd recommend either the green or the blank to go along with these..." As he bustled to motion again, setting things up, the Afternoon Tea progressed. The food was filling, if not extravagant, and the tea was excellent. Margaret was attentive and pleasant, and all-in-all, Hawthorn could consider it a success. So much so, that he set his mind firmly to holding further sessions, and continuing to practice his baking and preparation skills. ***FIN***
