It certainly wasn't, but Eve didn't seem bothered by it -- she was much more concerned with digging the milk-saturated remnants of nuts and chocolate out of the bottom of her cup. "Unfortunately, that's the status quo so far," she admitted. "Every answer we get only leads to more questions. I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of things eventually, though... it'll just take some patience."

Dawson half grunted, half sighed. He glanced behind him just to be sure no-one was too close, wiped at his nose (the sweet smells were tickling it too much again), and then he leaned slightly in. "Didja get any warnin' signs before?" he asked in a low voice. "Symptoms r' whatever?"

That question made Eve perk up, an earnest smile fluttering into her features as she weighed the words of her reply. "Yes, there are," she started. "Senses going haywire, parts of your body shifting some of the way... I think one of us even grew a tail for a moment." Turning to make eye contact, she continued, "Any of that sound familiar?"

A chill went up his spine. He curled his hands lest the sweat gathering on them became obvious. "Prob'ly nothin'," he muttered, averting his gaze. "I just been havin' weird allergies." No no no no no. "S'fall now n' all."

"Alright, then." Eve was quick to back off, at least. "But at least now you know."

There was a pause. His voice somehow grew even softer, almost whispering as he forced his gaze back on hers, looking less like an adult and more like an awkward teen. "I'm not sayin'...But say I wake up n' I got a duck beak or whatever...N-Not that that makes sense or nothin', but...You know stuff. If I...If I see stuff or s**t happens, or full moon comes out n' I'm humpin' the fire hydrant...Uh. Would you...mind f'I had yer number?"

The eyebrows on Eve's knowing face slowly crept their way up higher and higher with amusement as Dawson's voice became more and more hushed a furtive. Of course she was willing to help, but she also couldn't resist being a little entertained by the man's anxiety about it. "Absolutely. I have a small list of people you can reach out to, even," she replied, and quickly brought out a pen and small notebook on which she wrote her contact information and that of a few others. "My shop is always open to moonwalkers, even after hours if someone is around to lock the door. You'll be alright, don't worry."

"Ma'am, I'm not a..." He sighed and took the page, folding it with the begrudging gratitude of a child. "Okay." The bell rang; a small troupe of students fresh from the 3pm rush were eager to get a treat. Dawson pocketed the page and stood up. "I, uh, should get back t'work...Thanks, though."
