Allow Us to Tell You a Tale~
Mare's Owner: ~Masamune~
Mare's Name: Rasema Nenmys
Mare's Temper: Adventurous

Stallion's Owner: Syrius Lionwing
Stallion's Name: Miti Chebiti
Stallion's Temper: Innocent

Prompt Response:
The life of an adventurer was an ever-changing one. Going from place to place, exploring new environments and meeting new people, all the while aiding those who were in need. If the price was right of course. Still, none of this would prepare Rasema for her latest expedition; travelling to the new Land which had suddenly opened up to her and her people.

Many had chosen to leave straight away, to see what these new Lands had to offer. Rasema didn't want to be unprepared though, and so she chose not to go with the initial herd, instead waiting until a few days had passed. With her trusty hunting knife strapped to her leg, she was quite sure that she could handle whatever these new lands wished to throw at her.

Grinning widely as she walked, her amber eyes darted from left to right, taking in all that the new Lands had to offer. The plants were different here, 'softer' almost. Even the sky seemed different, although it would be more than far-fetched to assume that both her land and this one didn't share the same sky. Regardless, Rasema had never been happier.

Being both the helpful and capable sort, the pink and purple mare was eager to meet with the locals, so as to offer her services in exchange for local goods. For her, no task was too tedious, no deed too daunting. She had dabbled in hunting back in homelands, although petitions only came up on a weekly basis, so couldn't always be counted on.

As she walked at a steady pace, her ears suddenly pricked at the sound of laughing nearby. Her toothy grin grew wider. Could they be the laughs of locals? There was only one way to find out. She broke into a quick trot and headed in the direction of the laughter. What she saw next would put her adventurous nature severely to the test.

Stood before her was three....creatures unlike anything she had ever seen. Where she came from, it was normal for fellow horses to have horns, scales and spikes, and even feathers like herself. These ones were different though. Their wings were large and hooked, their horns were curled and sharp. One of them had a tail that split up into many, and was covered in tiny spikes. They were like her people...only somehow more monstrous. It was a lot to take in, and in doing so, it took her a while before she noticed what was at the centre of the trio.

It was one of her own kind. Well, not exactly her own kind, but one of the largely harmless feathered types. He looked so tiny when compared to the three beasts that surrounded him. It was then that she realised that they had been laughing at him, and were clearly frightening to poor guy.

She stamped her clawed feet to gain their attention and glared at the three as they turned to face her. No sooner had they laid eyes on her, she was being attacked. She quickly swung around on the spot, smacking one of them in the face with her tail whilst grabbing her knife. She then reared up, raking at them with her claws, stabbing wildly as she did so.

Before she knew it, it was over. Panting heavily, she dropped her knife to the ground. Her face felt hot as she felt blood trickle from her left eye. It was then that she realised that she could no longer see with that eye. "Wow Miss, thank you so much! Are you OK?!" The high-pitched voice of the little blue bird pony she had helped rang in her ears like a bell. Rasema nodded steadily, before continuing in the direction she had originally been heading before all this happened. She would need to find a Healer, and fast.

"Seriously Miss, are you OK? Your eye looks real sore!" The chipper feather fellow couldn't possibly leave her Savior now, and so he resolved to follow her, at east until he knew she was OK. "My name is Miti Chebiti, but you can call me Miti! Pleased to meet you!" Rasema rolled her remaining eye. Had she of known that this would be the end result of her first adventure into the new land, she would've stayed at home!

Allow Us to Tell You a Tale~
Mare's Owner: LunaRei_SilverBlood
Mare's Name: Aviendha
Mare's Temper: Resourceful

Stallion's Owner: She-Ra of Etheria
Stallion's Name: Kriekr
Stallion's Temper: Cautious

Prompt Response:
Laying on a thick branch of an old tree, Kriekr surveyed his surroundings. This was a favored spot to get a 'birds eye view' of the area. Keen eyes darted about, looking for something of interest, but wary of predators. Just when he believed nothing was happening, he caught site of another not too far away. Head tipped as he watched. Something was held in her claws and moved this way and that near a large rock. What could she possibly be doing? From his vantage point he could only make out her body, but not the details of what she was doing. He would need to get closer.

Summoning his courage, for he didn't know what she was or what she was doing, he leapt deftly from the branch and began to work his way towards her, using the grasses and rocks as shelters before darting to the next. Finally he reached her, though kept a short distance away for safety sake. His head tipped once more watching her. The object in her claws scrapping along the rock, the sound it making unpleasant yet intriguing.

Something was watching her. She had heard his approach but had not bothered to turn and face him right away. From the sound, it was obvious the creature was smaller and not all that confident. She made a few more strokes with the knife before acknowledging his presence. Her tail flicked towards him. "Can I help you?" She asked, turning her body so she could clearly see him.

He dashed away from her tail but returned a few seconds later, seeing that she wasn't trying to attack - yet. "What you do?" He gestured towards what she held and then towards the rock, which he could now see sported some gashes.

What a strange little creature, she thought. He was flighty and yet curiosity twinkled in his eyes. "I am sharpening my knife little one. There are new lands to discover and I want it sharp for the adventures that lay ahead." Would he be among those traveling to these new lands? Or would be stay behind?

"Knife?" He repeated, beak clacking with excitement. He had very little knowledge of such an object and to know she not only possessed one, but was preparing it for her upcoming journey was quite fascinating. "You go to new land? Bring knife? Have adventure?" He asked, head tipping once more. "New land far? What you do there?" All this time Kriekr had thought talk of the new lands was just a rumor, but this mare seemed to know something about it and she was preparing for the journey.

So many questions. She focused on those about the new lands. "It's the unknown that draws me in and the only way to make it known is to go and explore. But there could be dangerous creatures." She explained, holding the knife out. It was why she was working on the blade, she needed to be ready for anything.

The unknown. That caught his attention. He loved discovering new things. His beak clacked together in a steady rhythm. Knowledge called to him, but knowing there could be dangers there was something he hadn't really considered. "Like learning. Like exploring. No like bad creatures." His eyes focused on her knife. She seemed to hold it quite naturally, as though she had had it for some time now.

"Well, you could always come with me...safety in numbers you know? And we could explore this new world in all it's glory." Thinking to herself, and if a large creature comes after us, I can outrun you and leave you for a snack.

Safety in numbers. He knew there was truth to that even though he spent most of his time alone. He considered her offer, beak clacking, his eyes moving between her, the knife and the marked rock. She had a knife, was larger than he was and already seemed to know some things about this new land. It would make sense to go with her, but he also loved his home here. He glanced around them. This land was familiar and safe, yet that had become boring after all this time. "I go with. You protect Kriekr with knife and we have adventures together. What you called?"

So the little beast had a name. "I am Aviendha. Let us be off Kriekr. The new world awaits." Slipping her knife into the strap on her back leg. "Onward, to adventure."

Allow Us to Tell You a Tale~
Mare's Owner: Thalea
Mare's Name: Vielissiar Lightningclaw
Mare's Temper: Mercurial

Stallion's Owner: Regal Renegade
Stallion's Name: Feign
Stallion's Temper: Foolhardy

Prompt Response:

“You idiot, I should’ve killed you when I had the chance,” Vielissiar glared at the blue creature standing next to her, “It is your fault we are in this mess.”

Feign gave his companion a wicked grin, knowing full well it got on the mare’s nerves, she was just so easy to antagonize, “Then you should have killed me back then. Would have saved us all this trouble.”

“I swear I will smack that grin right off your overly feathered face.”

The two of them had known each other for years; he was a notorious thief who robbed the wrong mark and she was a mercenary for hire. It was her mission to dispose of the little thief but before she could complete the job, the little feather brained dolt somehow convinced her that she was making a mistake and that the dino who hired her actually did not have the means to pay for the pack’s services.

“Since that day you have been the bane of my existence, you know that right?”

“I know it, and I am quite proud of the fact.”

To this day, it still aggravates her that the little thief was correct about the Parasaur not being able to pay. The stupid dino had thought to run after he hired them to do the job, did he not realize that he hired raptors to do his dirty work? Viel growled at the memory, and now she has the little blue pest always following her about.

“You know,” Feign’s voice cut through her trip down memory lane, “you didn’t have to agree to this absurd plan of mine, but you know deep down that I was correct and this was the right move.”

“Can you just shut your trap for a minute? I'm thinking.”

“I could tell, I can see smoke coming out of your ears.”

“You’re insufferable, you know that!?”

They were always like this, always bickering, pushing one another to their limit; it was an aspect of their friendship that Feign loved. These fights always made his day.

“C’mon, we should join them, don’t want them to get too far or we will get lost.”

Viel snarled at the feathered creature next to her, “We won’t get lost; I have a perfect sense of direction, unlike someone else I know, who can’t tell their left claw from their right one.”

“That was only one time, one time! Sheesh, make someone walk off a cliff once with bad directions and you can never live it down.”

“I was the one you made walk off the cliff, you idiot. You were lucky that it was not that steep and there was water below, or you would have joined me in the afterlife as a nice and tasty snack for the pack.”

The two of them grew quiet as they watched the massive migration unfolding below them; dinos of all sizes walked side by side. Predator and prey walked together under an uneasy truce. It was only a few days before that Viel had made the decision to leave the jungle that had sequestered them all this time; she allowed her mercenaries to make the choice for themselves to stay or go. Many of them chose to go along with the migration; she would hopefully see them again in this new land. Feign was the only one in her pack that remained by her side, he was her best friend and the cause for most of her headaches.

Feign grinned at the mare, this time not doing it to annoy, “Viel, it is really happening. We are leaving this place. What do you think world beyond is like? Is it like ours or completely different?

The purple raptor smiled down at her friend, “I don’t know Feign. Why don’t we go find out for ourselves?” She smacked him with her tail and then set off down the hill. Feign winced at the hit, vowing to get her back later as he followed the tempestuous mare. They were going on an adventure of a lifetime; a new world had opened up and it was theirs for the taking.

Allow Us to Tell You a Tale~
Mare's Owner: Nisshou H
Mare's Name: Xita
Mare's Temper: Unwavering

Stallion's Owner: ~Twilight...Angel~
Stallion's Name: Bellucercodromeus (Fine Tail Runner)
Stallion's Temper: Mischevious

Prompt Response:
How dare they mock her, tell her she can't hunt! Who did they think they were! She was able to do just as much as the rest of them. Taking a deep breath she stared back to where her pack was. Then stared in front of her, across the plains, scanning for something to hunt.

As she watches, something small runs across her line of sight. It was hard for Xita to tell exactly what it was from so far away, but it didn't matter. It was going to be caught. Snarling lightly, she took off from the small hill, claws gripping into the dirt. As she closes the gap between the two, she sees that it's a smaller raptor. "Perfect..."

Bellucercodromeus didn't realize that this other was chasing him until she was practically next to the smaller raptor. At this, he snapped at her legs with his beak, snarling. As the larger one was about to snap at him, he ducked behind some low branches and Xita ended up catching a mouth full of leaves instead of the small raptor. Snarling a bit, she spat out the leaves, "I will catch you..." For now, he slipped her grasp.

---------------------------

As the next day dawns, Xita stares off into the plain from the small hill. Yesterday's failure had not gone over well, all of them taunting her for not catching something so small. Snarling to herself, she took off down the hill, heading toward where the small raptor was the day before. Coming to the bottom, she practically tripped over the small raptor, not seeing him in the longer grass.

As her face plants into the ground, Bellucercodromeus couldn't help but let out a snicker. The mare snapped at the small one upon hearing it, but the other simply hopped out of the reach of her teeth. "You seem rather clumsy for a hunter of your breed." Again he snickered lightly, "Maybe you should work on that."

The mare had gotten up as the smaller stallion had been talking to her. Standing upright now, she snarled at him once again. As the snarl reached his ears, he snapped back into the situation, getting ready to run once again. Just as that thought came to his mind, she started at him. Turning quickly, the small raptor ran into the brush, hopping over a small tree root. As Xita tried to follow him, she tripped on the root, hard. Once again she had lost the little raptor. Once again, she had failed.

---------------------------

The third day of Xita's hunt has come. Again the night before she went home a failure. Again she had to hear her pack jeer at her. Tell her that she was a failure. That she should simply give up because of her sight problems. She simply couldn't do that. There was no possible way she could prove her worth to them if she simply stopped trying. A deep menacing snarl escapes from her throat. Today would be the day. Nothing would stop her. Again she took off down the small hill, the smaller raptor would have to be stupid to still be hanging around at this point. But, again, as she reached the bottom, there he was.

Snarling, teeth bared, she slowly started approaching him. As Bellucercodromeus saw her coming, he smiled to himself. This would certainly be a fun day indeed! "Are you going to catch me today?" He sneered at her a bit. This made her madder still and she darted right off at him, claws digging deep into the dirt to get the best start she could. The other did the same, digging his smaller clawed feet right into the soft ground and taking off. He had already decided that he would take her on quite the run.

Ducking under small branches and hopping over fallen logs in the shallow woods, he attempted to lose the larger raptor again. Today though, she seemed swift, even with her vision problems. As he took off over a larger log, she finally tripped, knees buckling under her, face into the ground.

Unexpectedly, the mare actually wailed out in frustration. This took Bellucercodromeus completely off guard. Slowly he walked toward the larger raptor, "I know that you are having a hard time with this... But if you keep at it, you'll get better." With that, he smiled at Xita and trotted off in the other direction, leaving her to think about what the smaller one could possibly mean.

Allow Us to Tell You a Tale~
Mare's Owner: Kyaishi
Mare's Name: Ravine
Mare's Temper: Dense

Stallion's Owner: Celeanor
Stallion's Name: Relkin
Stallion's Temper: Perceptive

Prompt Response:

It was completely unnecessary.

Despite every effort to stay under the radar, his companion's less... civilized tendencies seemed to draw the wrong kind of attention wherever they went. She had only just barely managed to reign in her temper long enough for Relkin to hurriedly dismiss their guide- not that he had any lasting care for the stallion, but he had been helpful in their endeavor- and now she was not-so-subtly sulking behind him as they made their way alone through the oasis. All because the unsuspecting stallion had made an offhanded comment about his height.

"He wasn't trying to be insulting, you know," the low mutter from his beak broke the tense silence between them, scaled tail swinging behind him in irritation. "You didn't have to threaten his... whatever you were threatening him with."

"Threatened to geld him," was the low mutter that answered him without hesitation, "to see how much height would count for then." The feathered mare snorted and directed her one-eyed gaze off into the distance, still mindful of her companion's presence, but pointedly ignoring his proximity at the moment. Insults weren't to be taken lightly, even if they weren't aimed directly at her- an insult to her business partner was as good as an insult to herself. Or... she thought that was how it worked, anyway. What did it matter if he didn't mean to be insulting?

An eyeroll was all she received in return as Relkin suppressed an aggravated sigh and directed his own flat stare elsewhere, refusing to acknowledge her petulant sulking. He was quiet for a moment, knowing that the silence would irk her more than anything he could say, despite her own aversion to using more than ten words at once at any given time. She was talented at bloodshed and not much else, honestly, but her unique skills afforded them a significant advantage in their particular market. And speaking of that market...

"You're going to scare off potential clients," he murmured, letting a bit of his annoyance drain away, but still eyeing her in disapproval as she trudged along slightly behind him. "No one's going to want your protection, or your... services, if they have to be afraid for their lives just to make an agreement."

Ravine snorted, shaking off the concern with a wave of her feathered tail, not pausing to pay mind to any of the ramifications he suggested. "That's what you around for," she grunted, "didn't become mercenary to service cowards, anyway." Relkin was undoubtedly the brains between the two of them, and she the brawn, which was an arrangement she was perfectly content with. Intelligence wasn't one of her stronger suits- nor was social niceties in particular- but there was no love lost for those qualities, she didn't need them when they were readily available in a neat little scaled and feathered package. He worked out the particulars, and she did the dirty work.

A long-suffering sigh answered her- a noise that she was well-acquainted with- and Ravine pointedly ignored it.

"One would think you'd have learned a bit of restraint by now, especially considering what happened in the Marshlands," he muttered with a suppressed wince, remembering the scuffle that had occurred because their charge didn't know when to shut their mouth, and Ravine didn't know when to back off. She had, he recalled with some guilt, suffered the worst of the incident, though she didn't seem to lament the loss of her eye at all. Were she anyone else, he might have admired her adaptability, but her single-mindedness seemed to drive her into apathy. Still, he could respect her strength of character, even if she seemed rather... obtuse.

The reminder was only met with a grunt in return, though the feathered mare took a moment to respond with, "Hindsight."

"...Did you just make a joke?"

"No."

Celeanor

...hindsight. Heh. Heheheh. Hehehehehehehe.

(To be honest I loved all the entries. You guys worked so hard!)
