Anadii blinked slowly, not quite sure if it should move just yet...
The housing unit is not compromised.
Was it a housing unit...? It blinked again, turning to stare at the ceiling overhead for a few moments.... then eventually raised one hand to stare at it. Organics called them "bodies," didn't they? If it was truly organic, was this a body? If it was, why couldn't it feel anything? Organics were always talking about their emotions and physical feelings...
Still Life. Deadened nerves...
"...Computers do not feel." It replied on instinct, then...paused. "...The medical file states that I am a Meta, a Still Life. If that is the case, then I should feel, but I do not. Why?" It laid its hand down on the bed again, and turned its head to stare at Ree's back. "I do not understand."

Ree frowned faintly and finally turned away from the computer all together to watch it. The flickers of a very similar conversation in this room nearly in the same spot a few days ago came to mind. This time..this time he will be more careful.
"Still Life usually have a racial ability that makes them very sturdy against physical attacks, on the downside there is a possibility they can barely feel anything at all, making them more dangerous to fight" he said quietly, having been forced to memorize all the non-human races and their usual abilities to at least have some clue when fighting a meta of a similar race.
Watching it carefully he finally nodded, so learning it was not a computer was the shock? He might be able to stop pulling the label off water bottles now and passing them off as coolant. "That is at least what I have learned, I do not know any other sti-... " no he knew one, one he could actually call and ask but that was moot really if it was just to confirm. Shaking his head he waited instead for it to answer.

Ah, it was distracting Ree... It should have just kept its question to itself... but it needed to know. Nothing made any sense. Everything that it knew about organics contradicted everything that it knew about itself. "I see." It blinked, looking back to the ceiling again as it absorbed that knowledge. It was a power, then. It should be able to deactivate it, right? It could terminate the other abilities it had.
"It is fine. It does not really matter. Do Still Life Metas also not require sustenance? I have not eaten and yet I still live..."

Ree blinked "They do. The coolant I have been giving you is actually water. Food... I thought you were taking bars from the box. " he closed his eyes thinking. "Unless there is a different metabolic timing for still life...similar to cold blooded animals maybe? Needing food within days instead of hours " he opened his eyes and pulled out his phone and a number and quietly called.
"Give me a moment" It served two functions, one to confirm this was that persona's phone number and to have a reason to call.

Cordelia was laying on her bed face down, just taking a break from making the video Zaku had requested of her. It had really been taking a toll on her mental energy having to rewitness Moira's torture and experimentation to get clips for it. She wasn't even breathing as she laid there with her face smothered into a pillow.
Bzz.Bzz.Bzz.Bzz.
Cordelia made a frustrated groan as she reached for her phone on the nightstand and lifted her face to look at the caller id. Her eyes narrowed, analyzing it for a moment before sitting up and answering the phone. "Hello?" she answered softly. There was really one person she had given her number to that she did not have their number in exchange, but she didn't want to jump to conclusions.

The coolant was actually water. Anadii blinked, feeling a tinge of something... unpleasant. "If you knew that I was not a computer, why did you not insist when I gave false information? Was it due to the time constraints?" It supposed that it didn't really matter... but what else had they been going along with despite it not being true?
"I will wait." It nodded, wondering if perhaps he was calling administrator Tri... But the voice that answered was definitely not Tri.

Ree frowned faintly as it rang "It was a combination of time restraints and being unaware of how well you will take being told you were not a computer. You would have tried to correct us wouldn't you?" He held up his hand as he heard someone pick up.
"Cordelia?" He asked quietly before pushing on. "This is Ree Luz" there was a pause "As strange as it might seem for me to be calling you and also the nature of this call, I have a simple non Renegade related question I am hoping you can answer. Maybe multiple" he glanced at Andaii, not wanting her to know what it is but also wanting to be able to answer the questions it had.
" I noticed you were a still life when you ...help us" there was a faint wince "Do Still Life need to eat and drink? how long between feedings if so? Anything special?" he said moving sit sit near Anadii so it could hear better.

Cordelia smiled as the person on the other end was, in fact, Ree. Though, as soon as his questions started, her smile dropped into complete confusion as she blinked for a moment. "...that's..what?... I mean I didn't think you'd be that interested in me... Uhmm...." she shifted her phone to the other ear and thought for a moment, trying not to think too hard on it lest she get flustered about it all. "We have to eat eventually, I suppose. We could honestly go pretty long without food or water. We don't really need to eat, drink...,sleep...sometimes breathe. Though it really helps replenish energy if that makes sense... Like for magic. Not because we'd die or anything. And nothing special, we can eat the same stuff as everyone else." she leaned back on the bed and closed her eyes. "Anything else you want to know?" she asked, curious about his sudden fascination with her sub-race.

Anadii nodded slightly - it supposed it would have... Ah, Cordelia was likely the name of the person on the other line. Cordelia... for some reason that name seemed familiar. Anadii finally shifted to sit up, eyeing Ree as he moved closer.
Most of what she was saying made sense... It didn't really need to go through rest cycles very often, even if 48 hours was the recommended time frame. Was breathing why it was pausing so much? It frowned -- just slightly. Had it always been doing that, or was its system just compromised after meeting administrators Tri and Ree? It had so many more questions...
"I do not remember eating at all, even when I was in a smaller housing unit." Though it supposed... it could have had those memory files deleted... or moved.

He covered the receiver and looked at Anadii "Smaller housing unit? What did you do there? as for eating..we can try after this and see what happens. Was there something more you wanted to know about Still Life? " he said quietly blinking as he saw Anadii's face and then a car pass at the same time.
Taking a quick breath he uncovered the receiver. "That helps...just a few more. Sensation..is it common not to be able to feel any type of touch?"

"..$-sensations??.... Uhm...." her face was becoming more flushed with color as she cleared her throat and tried to press on with the answer. "...uhm... Any type? .... Uhh... I mean,... We can feel stuff I guess. Ahh, I mean, we have toughened senses and skin... We don't feel pain generally. Some of us can feel a little bit while others can't feel it at all. Like,.. I can't feel pain, which can become a problem of pushing your body far past your limits without realizing it..... As for other stuff.... We can sometimes feel... Sort of... It depends... On the touch... Uhm.... her face was red now, as she twirled her free hand through her pigtail nervously., "...a-anything else?..."

"The smaller housing unit was not a location." Anadii shook its head a little. "It was simply a smaller version of my current housing unit. Ah... I believe for Metas that is the "child" stage." Things were... definitely different.
It quieted down as Cordelia began to answer the question, not really understanding why she was taking so long to do so. "I do not feel physical sensation, however my sensors alert me if I am being touched or if my housing unit has been compromised."

"So it depends on the person. No..that is all. Thank you for your help. " oblivious as he paused. "Hexxis is still around if you were to somehow meet up with her" he said quietly before looking back at Anadii. "I need to go now. Thank you" he didn't hang up but he covered the receiver as he turned his attention back to the computer meta. "Child..yes. you Grow from child to this stage ...and sensors? the implants warn you?"

"Yeah...no problem.." she spoke softly as she began to calm down. The awkward questions were over. Good. He mentioned Hexxis and she frowned. "I wouldn't be in any position to see her even if she was around here... Sorry. Can't say I've seen her." she paused for a second, "Wait. Ree. I should let you know that Blaise got a call from that guy that left with Andy that she's missing... We haven't heard from her either. I'm a little worried. So.. When I'm out and about, I'll keep an eye for Hexxis... And you could maybe keep an eye for Andy? Fair trade, right?" she chuckled a bit. "Well, either way, stay safe.... I'll talk to you some other time I guess.... Bye." she then hung up the phone and sighed. Back to work, she guessed.

"So that puts me at the "Teen" stage, then." Which meant it would grow once more... or twice, but Anadii could only think of four known Elder stage Metas. "Yes, my implants alert me to changes in my housing unit's condition... But they were not very helpful earlier during my malfunction. I still do not know what happened." It would have to run a full diagnostic later.
It fell silent again as the other person spoke... Blaise.. Andy... both names that were familiar--. Administrator Ree was speaking with Renegade members. It was supposed to tell them about nearby people with warrants.. it supposed that the 'Cordelia' person was not necessarily nearby.... and that Ree already knew... so it decided not to go through with that process.
"I suppose I will run a full scan before reconnecting to the system and resuming my watch. I apologize for the inconvenience my malfunction has caused."
