He was free -- for all of two seconds before he was grabbed again and dragged down with the other by the leg. The pull made him hop twice on his good leg before he was falling forward after yanking his leg back again -- And too late to see the cleaver, he fell right on it. He'd fallen hands first, but not claws-down, landing hard on the stranger's shoulders. It was possibly the only time in his life Lucas was grateful he was already injured, the cleaver having to bite through his shirt and bandages before it could find skin and scab. The metal sunk true and without any sort of clarity, he pushed himself up in a straddling position on the man, his flesh hand dragging his claws over the shoulder he was supporting himself on as he looked down at his chest. There was a perfect moment of shock in the beast that let the man to stare at his chest with mixed dismay and horror. Lucas turned his red eyes to the man's face with the most incredulous look on his own, prosthetic clawed hand hovering around the knife in a way that clearly said he did not know how to proceed from here.

Oh. Yea. That looked bad... A frown flitted across Cas' brow, but in the moment it took for him to take in (and capture in his memory) the sight of a cleaver sticking out of his attacker's chest, he'd already started moving again. Because being straddled by a furious were-thing with teeth and claws was really the last place Cas wanted to be. "Let me..." he muttered, more for his own benefit than anything else, as he tugged the cleaver out of Lucas' chest, and then promptly brought his other hand up in a vicious jab, right where the knife had been a moment before. And then, hoping his punch had done its job, he was scrambling backward as quickly and ungracefully as his hands and feet would carry him. Had to get up.

The human part of Lucas lingered in the shock, the feel of the warmth that trickled around the re-opened wound and soaked the bandage, the blade, keeping him put for a few more heartbeats. The stranger moved and he didn't resist, though he did utter a strangled, wet sound as the cleaver was pulled -- that quickly evolved into a wretched, thick wheeze as he was struck, briefly doubled over and winded. The part of Lucas that could rationalize was pushed away with the jab, allowing the white hot rage to flood back in, filling him with anger and too much adrenaline. Pain became secondary to paying back the pain, and snarling with another wet breath, he lunged on all fours towards the man that was scarcely getting to his feet by then. No words came with him, just a bestial sound as he collided with the stranger, shoulder digging in and upwards towards his ribs, clawed fingers gripping into his sides to get him back down on the ground with momentum and sheer force of will. A booted foot came down hard on the stranger's bare shin, his knee pinning the other down by his hip. This time, there was no hesitation, no small bit of humanity to hold him back, lifting his left hand - his good hand - to swing with a closed fist towards his face. It was a feint though. Connect or not, the right hand - metal, thumb near unhinged - swung harder.

Oh, did you think you ******** up? Yea, you ******** up real good. That was the thought anyway. How his brain managed to get there even as he was being tackled, Cas would never know. But it did, and those words all ran through his head before he even hit the ground. That and how inconvenient it was that he was naked right now. He felt the claws grabbing him, leaving welts at best, cuts at worst, and didn't bother trashing when he knew he'd been pinned. Boo hiss. At least he'd reacted quickly enough to bring both arms up to shield his face. The feint, he caught on his right forearm. The other glanced off his other arm and went crashing into his temple, sending a faint ringing noise through his ears. So he didn't hear the sound of a truck door slamming outside. Didn't hear the front door burst open, the heavy sound of boots thudding against the wood floors. Cas barely even registered that suddenly, the werewolf was gone because - okay. Really. He was seeing stars and one ear was ringing like a grenade had gone off next to it. Oh, and he was still naked. Above him, Rylan had entered the fray, wrapping one arm around Lucas' wounded chest and bodily hauling him off the floor and away from Cas. Adrenaline-fueled anger lent and almost ridiculous strength to his already-large body, and he barely noticed the weight as he picked Lucas up and shoved him back onto his feet. "What the <********> is happening here?" Rylan snarled, to both to them at once.

It was becoming that sort of delicious slow motion with adrenaline involved, the feel of his prosthetic arm tense with impact, the way his chest tugged and screamed with agony as his left arm swung up again - higher - knuckles clenching with preparation to rain more hell down on the stranger. Lucas was ready to put his weight into his boots to throw his fists at this man, to make him submit and hurt and leave his ******** territory -- But there was a flash of movement and a familiar scent filling his lungs, even as the air was squeezed out of them by a blinding stab of pain. The werewolf was dragged away from his prey and he growled, the sound a near whimper as his chest was again pressed upon. He could smell his own blood against Rylan's arm, and that mingled with the scent of his other, his - for all intents and purposes - mate, weakened him enough to not resist being thrown to the side. Lucas stumbled back and hit the wall, prosthetic hand pushed over his wounded chest. Slowly, he balled his jacket and started to apply pressure, dizzy and disorientated and flooded with adrenaline that had no where to go. "Who th' <********> is that?" he snarled back, words slurred from his pain. "********' -- stranger! In your -- house!" Okay. Talking really hurt. He drew in a rattling breath and bent over, jacket clutched to his chest, willing himself to stay upright and not prone in front of the interloper that he was so not done with -- Red eyes turned to the stranger, pupils again swallowing the red of his iris. If Rylan wasn't between them, he would have lunged again, and it spoke true in the way his shoulders hunched and legs slightly bent.

"Hey, stuff it, buddy," Cas said from where he was recovering on the floor, pushing himself up onto one elbow - the less hurt one - and shooting a dark glare at the furry stranger. "I've known him ten years. Who the ******** are you?" He thought about getting up. Seriously considered it, but Rylan's arrival had put an abrupt end to the fight, and Cas couldn't say he minded it in the slightest. Plus, with the head spinning, the thought of just staying put seemed wonderful indeed. But standing between them, about as angry as he had ever been in his life, Rylan stood with his arms folded across his chest. Not because it comforted him, but because the adrenaline had tensed up every muscle in his body and he couldn't, in that moment, make himself stand in any more relaxed a manner. And he was not having any of this. "I leave for two hours," he hissed. " Two hours, and you two do this?" Where to begin. "The house. A mess. Blood. Everywhere. And you," he snapped at Cas. "I told you to put on clothes." And he hurled the balled up towel he'd retrieved from the floor at his friend's face.

Oh, he was ready to tell the 10-year friend just who the ******** he was and why he was there -- But Rylan didn't. Lucas snapped his mouth shut and ground his teeth, looking from the man on the ground to the one standing between them, brows furrowed. Rylan spoke and he felt like he'd been stabbed in the stomach instead of the chest, though perhaps a stab to the heart was of the same quality. Some of the fight left his shoulders and he slumped a little against the wall, staring mutely. He could scarcely remember why he was there to begin with, fueled by his werewolf need to set boundaries, but maybe he had set them prematurely. He stared at Rylan, the pain starting to show more on his face as the adrenaline began to loosen its hold.

Nobody else said anything, so Rylan kept going. "Attacking people in my house," he growled. "A million people on the street, Lucas, you don't attack them, you try to kill the one guy who's basically family." And then, in the midst of all of that, a quiet horror dawned on his face and he rounded on Cas, still on the floor, but now with a towel covering his crotch. "Did he bite you?" he demanded. Somewhere at the back of his mind, he knew it would be a blow to Lucas that he'd come to that conclusion. And part of Rylan knew, knew that Lucas was better than that. But he had to ask. "Bite me? I hope not," Cas said, looking down at himself and the injuries he'd sustained. He didn't remember a bite. And that, for now, seemed enough for Rylan, whose concern apparently extended only as far as to ensure nobody had mistakenly been turned into a werewolf in the scuffle.

There was a lot on the werewolf's face that he couldn't say, couldn't articulate into words. This stranger, this naked fighter was practically family? Why didn't Rylan say something about him? What didn't Rylan think of him to not explain his presence? Hadn't he warned him well enough this could happen? And then he asked about a bite. Lucas hissed softly under his breath, flushed with embarrassment and anger. The stranger - family, apparently - had suffered a little knock around and might have a bruise or two, with a small line of blood. The stranger-family wasn't bleeding out his chest with an open wound from a cleaver. Rylan checked on the other, but didn't seven seem to be able to look at him. The territorial beast in him was wounded in ways even the blade of a knife couldn't touch. He pressed his tongue around his teeth and all he could taste was blood. His eyes stung and he couldn't tell if it was from the scuffle or something else. With his ears ringing a warning that he really needed to take care of himself, he used his remaining adrenaline to push himself off the wall, swaying on his feet for a moment but catching himself. He limped around Rylan, around the fallen friend, tail tucked nearly between his legs as he made his way to the door, wordless. What could he say? The lack of words was louder than any sound his voice could make.

That silence spoke volumes, and Rylan could read it all in the quiet way Lucas picked himself up off the wall and limped away. Part of him knew he needed to check and make sure Lucas was alright. Maybe, in better words, explain why Cas was here. But the stubborn, absolutely bullish side of him that had served him so well since he was fourteen years old said no. No, because he was still angry. No, because this was no acceptable behavior. No, because Lucas had almost disemboweled his best friend and brother in all but blood, because he hadn't thought to ask before springing into action. Rylan followed Lucas with his eyes until he could see him anymore, but he didn't move a step, arms still folded tight to his chest. "Listen, that..." Cas began, but a sudden glare aimed at him with amber eyes that seemed alight with fire shut him up. "Get this damned blood off my floor," Rylan said, his voice barely controlled. "And put some ******** clothes on." He dropped his hands, finally, reluctantly, and turned to stalk out of the house with with a dark fury gripping him. As he passed by the open kitchen, he snatched up the small, flat package he'd tossed onto the counter on his way in, and slammed it angrily into the trash can. A strawberry Nutella crepe. Cas watched him go, hearing the front door slam shut, leaving him all alone in the mess of blood and toppled furniture that was now Rylan's living room. With a quiet groan, he let himself sink back onto the floor, closing his eyes, feeling the adrenaline start to fade. Five minutes more.
