Jaro was charming, and at this point had known Aodh's parents for years if only from the business. Plus coming to the door was always a nice touch. It would be impolite to do otherwise. The thanks had him looking puzzled, "For what?"

"Getting me out? I can't -" Aodh started to shrug his shoulders and stopped himself with a hiss of pain. "I can only take so much of well-meaning." Grey eyes cut to him. "... and for making sure that I didn't, you know, go galavanting off and doing something really foolish at Blackfriars." Even if he would have preferred if Jaro had stayed with him.

"I'm sure you were stir crazy," Jaro smiled sympathetically, leaning a bit to put a large hand in Aodh's hair and ruffle, "Don't thank me for that. I don't think you actually could have with the blood loss." The truck was unlocked and hopped into, starting but not pulling out. "At least you've got your color back. And extra colors-" he chuckled and motioned to the bruises. "Is this what your boxing career was like?"

Jaro just got a hard, tired stare at the hair ruffle. At least he wasn't as short anymore. ... also just an annoyed huff at the blood loss. At least now the pink was able to show up on his cheeks again and Jaro could tell that he was right. On all counts. Aodh was clearly favoring his side, if only because he used his left arm to pull the passenger side shut. "Yeah, this is about what it looked like. Except a little more spread out." He pulled his seatbelt on. "Brain rattled, getting disoriented ... The long term damage from being a professional boxer did not seem like something I would want." He sighed. "Knocking my head again proved it."

"Well don't make a habit of it.. I was worried about you." Jaro smirked his usual smirk. "Didn't you even get any good hallucinations or dreams?" Jaro didn't pull away yet, not until they'd decided on food. Aodh had said no dealing with people which meant he could steer clear of Darlene's and most of the busier places, but he was sure he could find them decent food if the blonde was wanting something in particular, "Now, what are you in the mood for?"

That question put another look on Aodh's face. A dark one. He looked away and out the door window. The fact that they had knocked him out and then tried again and then the pain medication- "No, I didn't. It was just nothing." Hearing Jaro was worried was nice but there was still that part of him that had wanted the other to be there. He was still not sure how to parse that. Grey eyes glanced back, letting out a huff. "Biscuits and gravy." Greasy foods were comfort foods.

"Don't look so mad. It doesn't suit you.." Jaro put the truck into drive, but apparently thought he needed to specify, "Not that kind of mad. I only like your yelling screaming red faced brand of angry." He pulled the truck out and took it to the road. He knew a perfect place slightly outside the city. One of those roadside gems that catered to feeding truckers and hitch hikers or people just looking to not be recognized for a night. "There's a greasy spoon out on the highway. Have you been there?"

"They thought I was crazy," Aodh was still not particularly happy about it, "and forcibly knocked me out. I am allowed to be mad. Especially when they tried it again." He kept his right arm wrapped around himself, just so he would not think about doing anything with it. The sheer number of stitches in his side made him paranoid. "The one on the road that leads to Salem?" he asked. "I saw it but I've never been to it. Sounds perfect." Greasy spoon was just what he wanted.

"Well now you know not to say crazy things." Jaro was all for adapting to situations. "Sometimes people don't want to hear the truth." They hadn't directly spoken about what happened and Jaro hadn't actually asked but the rumor around town was a slasher on drugs so he'd go with that. He kept dreaming of claws.

"It wasn't because I said crazy things." Aodh would have shrunk in on himself but he didn't. He might have actually looked hurt but he also kept his attention on things outside the window so that his face wasn't entirely visible. "It was the laughing. You know I can't always help it." Especially with the pain and the blood and- "The cops did talk to me. I didn't-" He sighed. "I couldn't tell them much."

"Oh-" Jaro laughed, "-they thought you were crazy because you are crazy hmm?" The pain laughing was something else. Jaro was a good driver, at least while with a passenger, and he kept his eyes on the road as they made their way out onto the highway, "I didn't either. Managed to slip past." His eyes darted to Aodh, voice quieter now, "Any thoughts?"

"No more than you." Jaro was just as crazy as he was, Aodh would stand by that. Somehow the older man managed to defuse his grump just a little bit even if he was still a bit miffed about the entire crazy thing. His attention turned fully to the other at the question. "... besides that I don't buy the story around town?" With his right arm wrapped around himself, his fingers flexed out against his uninjured side. "I know what I saw that night Jaro. What that other guy looked like, what it-" He let out a breath. "Those were real claws and then really hurt."

"They were some claws, hmm?" Jaro didn't sound as concerned as he should have, didn't sound as scared as he could have been. If anything there was some level of being impressed, besides the violence. "The others though," The non crazy ones with the tails who were helping before they all disappeared upstairs, "Never been fond of fur but the claws..." He glanced at Aodh, suddenly apologetic, "Sorry.." To admire when the younger man had been mauled. At least now they were pulling into the lot of the small diner.

Aodh just kind of stared at Jaro for a moment. Somewhere between appalled and amused. Amusement eventually won out. "Well, you know, if they had been on a dragon I'd probably be feeling a lot better about it. His eyes were different too." He sighed, not entirely surprised that Jaro was impressed by claws. Even if he was going to have nightmares for a while about them and blood and that wild, unhinged look. "There were others, weren't there? Ones that weren't attacking ..." A shake of his head. "It was something else." That is what he settled on.

Jaro nodded, chuckling about the dragon comment, "There was a woman with fangs and a tail, like a fox I think. And one of the injured that came down from upstairs was hairy with a tail also but I didn't get a good look at him." The truck was turned off and he unfolded from the vehicle with a stretch and toe wiggle. Jaro wore sandals as often as possible. "You know I hadn't even thought about it but it was a full moon-" Jaro smirked, "Dun dun dunnnnn."
