Pax nodded. "The sickly one. He vomits when he sees me. I stay away." It gestured to its eyes, one of Aleksy's identifying traits. "He prefers orchids. But you should give. White hyacinth. Heal the body. Mind. Spirit. Bone repair. He will be less sad. Yarrow. To heal."

"I think I have some of those," he replied, eyes looking to other parts of his garden. They were good choices to have. Jeremiah glanced back to Pax, then briefly down to Hellbine who was still pleasantly enjoying the attention. "Would you like to help me pick the best ones to take?" It honestly seemed that Pax was feeling without purpose and there was reverence in the way they touched the flowers.

Pax nodded, the flowers in its antlers bobbing with the delicate motion. "I shall help," it said, picking up Hellbine in its arms as it began to patrol the flowers again, its four moving eyes roving to spot all of the flowers it had named. "I will bring. Yarrow."

"My orchids aren't due to bloom for a little over month," Jeremiah replied, moving towards where he had them planted. His basket was picked up, the supplies in it for gathering flowers. He had a light touch when he worked with the plants, expression set into something more relaxed now. They would bloom in beginning of July but for now the orchids were well taken care of. The leaves were touched before he moved on. "Hyacinth ..." There it was, near some snap dragons. "Late bloomers this year but I've some." Jeremiah would be a soft hand while gathering some for his basket. Hellbine, it seemed, was content to purr and Pax's arms. The vines, for once, seemed to be behaving and not growing from the ground but rather around the arms that were holding him gently.

Pax nodded its understanding as it, too, investigated the planted orchids. An odd place for them, it thought. Didn't humans keep orchids in ornamental pots? But this human was a strange one regardless. It scooted up behind Jeremiah, one hand shooting out to stop Jeremiah from plucking a particular bloom. "It is. Too young. It will die." Together they managed a small but significant layer of the blooms, and then it gave Hellbine a gentle pat on his back and settled the kitten down. "Has. Your mother taught you. To grow?" It crouched down, balancing carefully over its hooves. "I will show you. What it requires."

Jeremiah was always strange but most never were around to notice just how much. He paused when Pax came up behind him and nodded, hand retreating to leave the bloom. "Thank you," he told Pax with a small smile. The detective was setting the basket down to sort the blooms, make sure they would carry alright, glancing over briefly as Pax talked with Hellbine. Mostly because he still expected the kitten to rat him out sometimes. On what, he did not know. Hellbine gave Pax a mew in response because he did not. All he could grow were the vines on his head when he purred. The small white cat sat primly and watched Pax, to see what it was showing him.

What Pax showed Hellbine was apparently for othercreatures only. The magic that passed between them went unspoken, but soon enough Hellbine was pawing up perfect white yarrow blooms from the ground, fragrant and full-grown. "She would be. Quite proud," Pax assured the little cat, leaning down to boop Hellbine's floral mohawk with what passed for a kiss among deer.

Jeremiah was focused on organizing the flowers, already putting together bouquets in his mind, when he noticed the smell. He turned and looked and saw the yarrow, coming over with the basket. "... that is ..." He leaned down and scritched at Hellbine's ears, thumb smoothing down his spine and the kitten positively preened under the attention from both him and Pax. Pax more so because Pax had taught him! Hellbine gave a pleased mew, twining himself around Pax once more and expectantly waiting for the yarrow blooms to be gathered. Also that he touched his nose to Pax in return of a small bise. "Thank you," Jeremiah said quietly. " Both of you."

"He is a baby." Pax smiled, flushing warm dark violet around its cheeks. "He will learn. He is clever!" It patted the kitten's tail, apparently quite at ease with the small predator using it as a perch. "Thank you also. You are. Very good."

"He is," Jeremiah agreed. The blooms were gathered and tucked delicately into the basket. The detective paused at the mention of also being very good. As much as Pax and himself had gotten off on the wrong foot, there was no sense of danger now. Nothing that told him he should be worried. Also that it being leery of him, to some extent, had diffused a lot of his previous ire. Not including that Pax had been upset. "I should take these flowers to the hospital but you are welcome to spend time here in the garden, if you'd like. Until you feel like you can go back." The violet flush of it's cheeks getting a slight eyebrow raise. The concern was genuine. Hellbine was equally content to lay against Pax for the time being. "Will you be alright?"

The yarrow stalks receded as if they had never been. "Hellbine. Is a good familiar," said Pax. "You should be. Very proud of him." A good baby. That's what the kitten was, right? A very good baby. "I will be fine," it said. "Thank you."

"He is," Jeremiah chuckled, watching as Hellbine continued to preen like the small baby cat the was. "He's helped me quite a lot but for now I'm going to leave him with you and take these to the hospital. "You are welcome." The detective had plucked one additional flower, a daisy, and pulled it from his basket to place next to one of Pax's antlers. "For helping me." Then as he took a step to go back towards the house and change. "Like I said, feel free to stay here if you want for a while. The flowers could use the company. Hellbine too."
