The magical time seemed to be wearing down the more they talked and Labyrinthite began to step forward, more confident that when he was able to see again that he wouldn't be more than a few yards from her. He had been doing this for so many years, combat was virtually second nature for him. "You find an advantage," he answered, eyes blinking until the effects of her magic had, at last, faded. "If there is no one available to you and it is life or death, you run."
He didn't see the point in telling her that running was cowardly. Sometimes, retreat was needed in order to come back stronger.
"You must spend time strengthening yourself. If you have to run, examine what left you with the singular option." Ah-ha, there was his little senshi, perched upon high and just out of reach.
"Remember that we are capable of things they were not." He blinked, disappearing from where he stood to teleport beside her, hand reaching for the cavity of her chest. "Incapacitate when possible, but be wise little star. Not every battle can be won."

The magic faded and she could practically feel the room change in mood and aura. Where it had felt tamed and controlled, now it felt wild and scary. Her heart raced as he took the first step. She didn't have to know that he was able to see, to feel like he could already see her.
She didn't have time to respond as he teleported next to her. (Something she had not expected and felt that perhaps she should've known better.) It had taken merely seconds for him to appear where she was, she hadn't even had a moment to take a breath and then there was a dark hood and hand reaching for her chest, where she knew her starseed laid safe. Regardless of the dark hold in her chest and forehead.
She reacted purely on instinct dropping down from the beam, only to grab it again and use it as a catapult, twisting her body so that her full force of legs and heels came at the General.

The general didn't seem to be in the mood to play games or to appear like he was going easy on his latest recruit, reaching with intent to grasp her starseed if she didn't react quick enough. But, Adamantine did, moving with instinct that left him prouder.
Prouder he was, when she dropped and used momentum to hurl herself at him.
He only had enough time to spin on his heels when she came flying at him, feet catching him in the chest and he grunting in return, feet sliding backwards towards the edge of the beam, heels precariously off of it before he dropped too.
Her attack hadn't really damaged him, but had left him mildly winded, boots slamming against the ground with a loud reverberating thud and he sneered up at her. "Good work, little star," he praised, focusing his energy on leaping back up and stalking towards her. "But what now?"

She didn't question her general's methods, but reacting on instinct was very hard and she was trying to reach deep into her inner self. He had called them wolves, so she had to act like one.
Her defense against his reach for her starseed had been good, but she had no way of keeping him away. She was neither acrobatic nor used to stamina. She could feel her strength waning just ever so slightly.
"Thank you General." She righted herself on the beam, "Surroundings sir." She pushed herself up again, this time she didn't aim for him but for beams and boxes held up by thin nets and ropes. She aimed for the rope holding it all up, snapping it with kick. She did not expect it to do much damage to him with his ability to teleport but anything to slow the general down.
She waited again. Her heart thrumming in the sound of the debris falling and crashing.

Golden eyes watched the corrupt intently, taking in the way her chest rose and fell, how she took each breath. Every little movement told him that they needed to work on a different type of training, to build her strength and stamina not just her combat skills. Adamantine was smaller than his other recruits, she had more that needed to grow, but he trusted that she would blossom beneath his steady and sometimes harsh hand.
The rope snapped and the beam dropped, Labyrinthite's body tensing as he jumped, finding another that was still suspended in the air.
"Growing tired little star?" He asked, eyes narrowing as he moved, debating what options he wished to exploit. There was a temptation to end the session now, but then he worried that he would be going to easy on her.
Sure, Adamanitne felt that she was fragile, but Labyrinthite knew she was stronger.
"When you are outmatched and your strength is waning what are you going to do? Think fast little star," he warned, arm extending so that when he summoned his weapon it could hang without too much exertion. "Tick-tock, time's almost up."

She had been holding on as long as she could for this new form, but fighting was new to her, and hard. She felt spoiled by the fact that she never had to do it besides against her father, and now she would be doing it for the negaverse.
She didn't know what else to do, and the rare frustration with her inability to live up to her general, as well as the lack of anything about herself was starting to show. She was gritting her teeth, there was anger on her face.
"I...." She looked at him, "I don't know anymore. I don't know what to do." She heaved a breath, "I can't think. I don't know what else to look for." She wanted a lot of guidance, but she also was wanting to think for herself.
"I've failed in this fight."

The scythe came, materializing in his hand effortlessly and Labyrinthite's posture never shifted, because he was so practiced in this that he didn't need to think, only react. He could see the struggle as dormant emotions flickered across her face and he lowered his arm, a long and low sigh sliding out his mouth.
"Little Star," he mumbled, weapon vanishing back to where it once came from. Striding towards her, he cupped her face with one hand and tipped her jaw up so she would be forced to look at him. "You let your insecurities weigh too heavily upon you."
They weren't supposed to be done, Labyrinthite was not supposed to go easy on her but -
Adamantine was precious and she had done well for their first practical. "Come, we'll discuss this at home." Sliding an arm around her shoulder, he whisked them away.
