Kai:looked away from his phone just as Anadii solidified:: .... ::the angel looked surprised but then smile faintly as he continued to sit, wings flared into comfortable slots made to holds them as he watched the meta:: Anadii, I presume? ::he ask kindly::

Anadii > //blinks, quickly taking in its surroundings-- then finally settles on Kai// ...Yes, I am Anadii. You are Kai (name)?

Kai:nods as the room they were in was one that was nicely decorated. Light creams, whites some tans and gold trimming with furniture to match. Behind Anadii was the laptop on the desk while the rest of the room . Kai himself had long blonde hair tied neatly into a pony tail behind him while gold tipped white wings rested in their support. There was a fragile air around him but it didn't reach his eyes that look bright even with the weakness of his body. There was no fear either, just a look of curiosity as he nodded:: Yes, welcome to my home :he chuckled softly:: Did you have a nice trip?

Anadii > //makes mental notes that he seems frail of health, it will likely need to perform outer maintenance to not spread any germs that organics-- people tended to carry...// .....Define "nice," it was the same as always. Travel through virtual reality does not change.

Kai: Travel through virtual reality...? ::there was a pause as he waited for an explanation::


Anadii > //blinks// Yes, transportation via Internet connection or cellular transmission signals

Kai: .... ::shakes his head:: That is possible now for everyone? Or only because you are what you are? ::he smiled, interested::

Anadii > //blinks// No, it is not commonplace. I am able to bring one other with me if I choose to do so.

Kai: That is a relief. I don't think my internet security covers this....::he glances back at the laptop:: definitely not ::looking more amused than concern though:: Well even if your trip was uneventful... are you hungry or thirsty? ::he moved to get up, struggling a little but eventually managing to get up to his feet::

Anadii > //shakes his head// No, I am fine. I have recently eaten. Regular internet security would not be capable of preventing travel through it, no. You would require a much stronger firewall. Even so, I can also travel through cellular signals.

Kai:stares quietly at him..her? ...him. and shakes his head:: That must be very ..helpful in your line of work. Helping Mara correct?

Anadii > //blinks// At the moment I am assisting Administrator Tri. Since moving with me poses a greater threat than leaving me behind, he is going on without me. For the time being, I am helping no one but myself. Though since you are hosting my housing unit at this time I will assist you with whatever it is that you require of me.

Kai:smiles at his offer even if there was a flicker of concern at his words:: Thank you, I might need help now and then. My powers... well I never was able to control them ::he shook his head as he switched subjects:: So you are working with just Tri.... I am surprised but glad. Let me show you to your room ::he motioned to the hallway, dragging his wings behind him a little:: What did you mean by housing unit?


Anadii > //nods, turning to follow him down the hall, mindful of the wings// Ah, I am more familiar with calling it a housing unit. I was referring to my body. I suppose organics have the concept of the mind and the body being one, though I have always considered myself separate from my housing unit. //frowns slightly...// It does not matter.

Kai: Hm? so you're not ..organic? ::he looked back as he stopped outside a door and opened it to a nice, clean and recently air out room. A twin bed, a desk, an old desktop could be seen while the room itself was colored similar to the living room.::

Anadii > ...No, I am organic, but it has only been a small while that I have been aware of that information. //it peered into the room, noting that it seemed more like an actual bedroom than a server room...// ......I have not stayed in a room like this before, aside from the hotel rooms. Am I supposed to use the bed?

Kai: looks surprised as looks down at him:: Aware for only a little while? It isn't my place to ask but did you come from somewhere pretty bad? :he sounded concern as he glanced along what he could see of Anadii but not seeing any damage: Bed? Yes. There are a couple of pajamas of different sizes. you put those on and to go under the covers to sleep ::looking a little concern::


Anadii > //blinks// Yes. I was acquired from Teldhet Operatives, and they had acquired me from Haven Research before that. //It turned its gaze to the dresser, then back to Kai... Pajamas..?// Pajamas are for use when sleeping?

Kai: I see...Tri mentioned that but I wasn't sure....::he trailed off looking sad before he shook his head:: Yes, like here ::he tries to smile and moved to the dresser, pulling it open carefully he pulled out a pajama top and bottom, estimating Anadii's size. He had a few..a lot when Ree was growing in:: These might fit you ::he places them carefully on the bed::

Kai: they are used when you sleep. then you change againin the morning for normal clothing


Anadii > //nods, following after him. It reaches out to take the clothing when offered, blinking down at them with its head tilted slightly to one side// I see. It seems strange to change outer coverings so often.

Kai: It is more airy and loose so not to hot not to cold. ::he smiled sadly, watching Anadii and wondering how Haven and Teldet could be so cruel:: I still have a few of Ree's older clothing you could use. He grew out of them pretty fast

Anadii > //blinks, nodding// I see. They sound more suited to what I need to wear than what I have been given at the moment. //Tilts it's head slightly// administrator Ree?

Kai:smiles faintly:: need to wear? ::he sounded curious before nodding to the question with a faint look of confusion:: Yes, It is ..complicated relationship but they are considered family in a way if not by blood or law. ::he chuckled sadly:: Why do you call him and Trisuri Administrators?


Anadii > Yes, to prevent overheating it is best that my coverings be made of light, easy to breathe fabric. //Nods// they are registered administrators of my operating system.

Kai:looked at him quietly, feeling a niggle of a thought, but concern how it would be taken:: I know this is none of my business but if you are willing to share, have you ever been taken by Haven or a similar research operation? :Tri mentioned Teldhet but he didn't know exactly who they were, just haven from the news and what they have been doing ot metas...and true races..::


Anadii > //blinks// Yes, as I mentioned before, Teldhet acquired me from Haven. They are responsible for my programming.

Kai:blinked:: Ah Sorry, I missed that. :he frowned faintly at missing such an important piece of information. seems he was getting worse:: I am sorry for your pain... we only recently learned what Haven was doing to metas and true races... I don't approve but if the humans are so entrenched with them... ::he looked concern then sigh:: Sorry, you're not here to worry about politics but some habits die hard. Are Tri and Ree treating you well? ::he closed the drawer as he straightened::


Anadii > It is fine. I find most people do not retain information as easily as I do. //Blinks, then tilts his head// I suppose. They are trying. Administrator Ree made a mistake that put me in danger which is why I am here and not with him as I was supposed to be.

Kai:took a breath to stop stopped and then shook his head, this is where he tried to draw the line. He didn't want to ask about them in terms of their work nor Mara ..not after she took over SIU. Ree.. well he saw parley ...he didn't believe it and it made things a little uncomfortable since being with him was dangerous now:: Well... you should be safe as long as you stay inside. I have someone that comes everyday to help me out and goes back home at night.. so you should be fairly safe. ::moving to the door:: well then... I will let you rest and see you in the morning

Anadii > Very well. I will remain indoors until further notice. If you have need for my services simply state so. //Nods // ah.. Am I supposed to initiate a rest cycle?

Kai: paused at the door and looked back at him;; I hm... you mean sleep? If you want.. I thought you might be tired. If you're not you can come join me, I was just going to watch some news then maybe look at a movie if I wasn't sleepy by then ::he smiled expectantly, he wouldn't mind company::

Anadii > I have just awakened from a rest . cycle, my sensors indicate that I do not need another one. //Nods// I can join you, then.

Kai:chuckles:: Well, come on ::he motioned for him to follow:: we still have about 20 minutes to go before the news come on. I know you can see it on the computer ..::he said leading the way back slowly:: but I am a little old fashion in this. What type of movie would you like to watch afterwards? I just ask that it isn't horror or drama

Anadii > //blinks, following after him // I have never watched a movie before, to my knowledge. Therefore I do not have.l a preference at all.

Kai: ... ::he looked back at him sadly:: Well I will pick a happy one then... and we can eat popcorn :he chuckled, happy at least to have someone there::
Anadii > Very well. I have also recently eaten and do not require more food.

Kai:laughs: we will see ::leads the way with a happy air::

Anadii > //follows, looking around as they move... Once at their destination it just.... Stops and stands within view.of the TV.....//

Kai:pauses and picks up one of the movies his nephew was watching, howl's moving castle and takes it with him: ... ::looks at Anadii he tilted his head to ask what was wrong before realizing that he might not know what to do:: Come, take a seat. Any seat and make yourself comfortable

Anadii > Ah, okay. //Shuffles over to a seat, then sits and stares at the TV ;//
Kai:.... ::shakes his head and picks up the remote before sitting back in the seat Anadii found him before before turning it on and moving to the news channel but currently showing some type of sitcom::

Kai: this is a sitcom... theses are mostly for entertainment. New is true ..and what is happening in the world. :he explained::

Anadii > I know about news.. Though I am unfamiliar with fictional entertainment
Kai: well ::he looked thoughtful:: The people you see there aren't real.. they are acting out possible things that could happen in real life... while other fiction act out things that are impossible in real life. You get caught up to what happens with the character even if you know what could happen at the end or sometimes you don't

Anadii > I do not understand why, but that is fine.
Kai: That I can't really describe. It is a feeling, it happens or it doesn't ::laughs:: Maybe you'll understand after this
Anadii > //nods/ it is not necessary to understand, is it?

Kai:shakes his head:: No not really, it would come down to interest in the material or not
Anadii > I see. I suppose if I do not understand it then I will not worry about it
Kai: ....::laughs:: well I never had a conversation about this before. ::he looked thoughtful. Both amused and sad:: But if you do not understand a part I can try to explain it. It is a story a beginning a middle and an end. The start the problem and resolution. Normally

Anadii >..... I think I understand that.
Kai: we'll see ;:doesn't look worried as turns his attention to the news. His wings shift slightly as if expecting something bad but relaxes as it goes on about the news of the day with still some minor talk of the renegades and their message and what one government did that might be linked to the message.::

Anadii > //shifts its gaze to the TV, head tilted slightly... message from the renegades? It immediately connected to the net, searching for what ever it was// ......

Kai:looked over at Anadii as another sitcom starts about a modern family after the news:: Ready? ::looks a little relieved::

Anadii > //looks to Kai, then nods// Yes, I am ready. I do not know if I will pay it much attention, the segment about the video that was released was not very informative so I am currently researching it.

Kai:blinked in surprised:: which video? ::not sure which one he was referring too::

Anadii > The renegade video that was played in Norcrest. //blinks// It contained footage from Haven.

Kai:looks faintly surprised:: You haven't seen it? It's been out for a few weeks since the Renegades released it in Norcrest. ::frowning faintly:: It has sparked up some controversy against Haven...I assume that is what the Renegades intended
Anadii > No, before I was acquired by Administrators Tri and Ree, I was not allowed to look into things that I was not ordered to look into. Since registering them as my Administrators, I have been far too busy assisting them to look into anything or see much news.

Kai:looked nearly emotionless but the faint frown continued to be there:: ... You have time now. At least a few days from what Tri said ::he sighed softly:: You might also want to look up the parley between the human governments and the Renegades. It was about two months ago but might pertain to why Tri and Ree are wanted...and dangers you might faces being with them/
Anadii > //nods// I will do so. I was not aware that there had been a parley. Teldhet primarily focuses on capturing and bringing wanted criminals in to law enforcement, so such things would not be important for me to have known about while in their possession.

Kai:nods quietly with a frown: Knowledge is power... by depriving you of it they gain more. Try to keep an eye on the news now and then, doe snot have to be every day but at least the most important things affecting Teterra or the city you are in or planning to travel too

Anadii > //nods again// I intend to do so. I have no intention of becoming a possession ever again. //something about that sounds... ominous...//
Kai:looked faintly uncomfortable but nodded:: No one does..the fact they do is .... ::looks pained: ... never mind. Did you want me to give you some time to look that up before starting the movie or will you like to go rest early? ::asks quietly::

Anadii > //blinks // it is fine if you wish to start. Even if I am not actively paying attention, my system is recording everything that I am seeing and hearing.

Kai: frowns faintly and shakes his head:: No, that's fine. We can try again when you're not distracted. ::a hint of disappointment as he instead just switched channels until landing on a classical music channel and moved to pick up a book from nearby, allowing Anadii to finish what he was doing....how he was doing it. He already had a bit of experience with the odd meta powers, like the unreachable magics if fantasy come to life::

Anadii > Very well, if that is what you prefer. //Nods, then seems to zone out as he resumes digging up information, markings occasionally flashing as he downloads or processes files//

"Ding ding hammer hammer " she muttered to the shadow of the person standing next to the couch in her room. She was venting her frustration so not to show her worry as Tri listened silently. She had been working in her office and around the base for the past few weeks...pretty much ignoring Melody, Leukos and even Kae in exchange for covering up their lack of security and just well lack of everything. After many slow sluggish responses things picked up to almost neck breaking speeds after the fiasco outside the city.

Moira, aka the tortured meta in the video, was now obviously a full fledged Renegade member sharing their love of property damage and death. Seen along with the shark feral from the murder squad ......well after what happened as horrifying as it was start to show those in government that maybe they needed to help push along repairs to SIU. Not that she had the meta to help..there was Melody and Leukos and that was it...even Syth had gone who knows where doing who knows what. The best she could manage is saying Syth was under cover with the Renegades ..and that was already putting out neck with a reputation that was garbage right now.

Still it put pressure on the contractors and lo and behold things were actually getting done! Added the 10 mercenaries that she was able to hire from Li...the ones who didn't want to work for some Criel family. Then those two...Jack-of-all-trades? She wasn't sure what to call them..well outside of babysitter for Stormy and Akash at one of the houses the mercenaries had in Belrad. Smart move on Tri's part even so now she wasn't so sure it was so much on purpose than oppertunity.

"So now, the labs are finished along with the holding cells. The main floor and top floor... The other two building will need more time and basic security is up....who we are calling if a meta breaks in..I don't know but still better to know someone has. The more advanced features will be done two days from now..which I have to warn you ..will mark you if you don't have a pass, so call before coming in. Same for trying to phase...well specific areas will be phase proof, like the armory, labs, offices and rooms. After Kage then Ree.....freaking Ree..." She shook her head, having already told Tri before how she found the armor in one of the abandoned warehouses nearby with unauthorized user access...then her missing armor suit in Hanale ....most of it in pieces other than the helmet...but excatly what Kage was using sadly she didn't find his head inside.


Tri nodded quietly as he reached looked silently at the couch, looking up when the conversation turned to Ree. "Has he..?"

Mara shook her head "Sorry, nothing since Fa-Ashral. Give it some time..it isn't uncommon for him to poof for a month or so. True he always called ...but after her death ..and what you found well...Give him time. His warrent hasn't gone down so no one had found him..it's fine he likely took up drinking or something. " she sighed and ran her hand through her hair.

"Nothing I can do about that information you found, at least not now anyways, just be more careful who I tried to make alliances with..... " she made a face "as for yours...I sent a letter to Spectrum canceling the agreement they pushed me into. No more...after knowing Zaku had him sent in as a spy and -through- spectrum...just no .." She shook her head, almost warming up to the odd therepist before learning he was a spy...and the fact Zaku knew they would be asking Spectrum for help..it pissed her off he even got in.

Tri nodded quietly, his face lacking any emotion as he watched Mara pace. "Her body?"

"Still undergoing an autopsy..especially after I mention she was a former Malice, looking for cause of death as well as any difference between a true shadow and her revived body. Had a casket and plot made for her. Told Leukos that is where she was buried..once they are done that -is- where she will be buried but not now. Pretty sure he would fight me on it or something and I don't need the headache on top of it all....her sword and the ring she was brought with are there though" looking faintly relieved she could finally tell someone.

"An analyzes of the blood showed her own blood on the sword as well as that of a shadow using demon. Finger prints belonging to an unknown user and Ree were found on the hilt. The unknown user wasn't in the system so we have no idea who it could have been. now she frowned as Tri continued to stare at her. "Yes I did have to tell them about Ree's involvement...I couldn't just show up with a dead Shadow who was under my care..stabbed through the heart with her own sword and go .."I dunno I just found her like this" " she sighed knowing well enough that might be enough to throw him from warrent to worse or not since it was a former malice, now if he had only stayed and to,d her what happened. "I also heard about them finding you with Hexxis a few days ago near sanctuary" she said looking him up and down then pushing the question since that is what she had the suspicion he was there for. "Is she okay? "

"We were helped by Zeph near sanctuary and taken to one of his drops. I learned two things...one she has a mental connection with him and two she is terrified of enclosed spaces due to a failed mission. She panicked...called for Zepher and I activated her sleep command. The merc and I talked... let's say I don't think he run with a full set of marbles. " his eyes narrowed and his wings bristled.

Mara blinked and watched him ..oh sh** he was pissed...very pissed. "So then you killed him, threw his body into the ocean and took Hexxis away..who ran away because you killed her wanna be boyfriend?" She smirked faintly because she was likely the only one who could get away with joking right now with him, but was watching him worriedly and the silent look he gave her before shaking his head told her he had been thinking about it very intently.

"No, I left him alone and didn't call the police because he did help Hexxis. Now we're even " he said quietly the glow in his eyes dimming. "Once Hexxis awoke she asked about him, learned we teleported away and was willing to just move on and not say anything about it. I pushed it because of what I had saw back there..and their mental connection. I can't help her if I don't know what he is saying or thinking or telling her to do. If I ignore it she will continue to look or talk to him anyways.... What am I supposed to do? So I told her to go back to him... you said many bad relations break up without much of a push so that is what I am hoping. She is capable of keeping herself safe physically ...but she is looking to me for answers I don't have a clue how to answer. When it is in relation of my own feelings to him ... I hate him" his face looked pained up to the last part where he went back to being blank.

"I am pretty sure it is hate..hate that he took her ..that he changed her and manipulated her. As well as being a coward, dense as a brick, oblivious..." He trailed off and took a breath. " Also I feel that I failed her by not thinking ahead and guessing that she might run away.... even if she never showen any indication before " he looked away from Mara his wings drooping.

"So I told her to go and find him, figure it out on her own. That I will pick her up if she needed, but now I regret it. " He looked up at Mara pained and confused. "Every thing she mentioned showed she was capable, even her survival as a child. She just didn't understand why I hate him, I think that might be the only reason she stayed, to understand. So I told her to go..go before she keeps trying to balance me and him..before she just leaves completely. " he glanced toward the side and shrugged slightly. "...even then how can I tell her what she wants to know when she will just blindly try and justify it? Or even tell her that he is using her...30 years old and the first person he actually falls in love with is a child..who turns into a teen and all within 3 weeks? " he raised his wings and started to pace as Mara watched in concern, never seeing him so angry before.

"Well I do have to agree on the dense and ***** tendancies... He did just random run into a fight and started hugging her. Then teenager ..well " she sighed heavily. " I think you did okay? Not really the best thing to do is throw her out to find that guy without back up... Actually pretty much the worst thing since she thinks you hate her. Also you....she isn't abandoning you. I do agree she has to pick between both of you or find a way to get you to make up....which is doubtful " she said looking at his face and raising a hand. "But a possibility or ..now, that you forced her to one side and hope it fails. I mean you did it in the cruelest way possible but are not the first " she muttered with a sigh. "I can't say if it is good or not ....but I hope..really hope you have somewhat to keep in touch with her? Ree we knows he will eventually come out of it but her? And with Haven around? Yea" she muttered moving to the front of the couch.

Tri nodded "She has Ree's phone and she already arrived in Belosh. " he moved to the other side as Mara sat down, moving to side by her and lean back as she grabbed the tv control.

"Good. Well ...I don't know. You're kicking yourself but Belosh is good and she -does- know how to take care of herself..you didn't even have to follow her like you did Ree. " she frowned, " she is also a merc..she should be able to access her accounts " going through the same process Tri did before. "Call her...just remind her you don't hate her but then wait and see? Call instead of text.. More from the voice than not. But really you threw the die and if you don't want to bring her back then just wait and see. That's all the advise I can give " she muttered as he leaned to her shoulder then slide down to her lap with a thump.

".....I guess" he said in a muffled mutter as he closed his eyes while Mara turn on the TV.

Mara leaned back and frowned, brushing his hair back but looking sad for him and Hexxis and even Ree. Just all of them.

Mara eyed the quick schedule and made three letters before dropping them off at Melody, Leukos and Kae. She was finally hiring again and after what has happened getting the kiddies trained as soon as possible was a top priority. She was going to do a meeting but thought better of it, she didn't need the added headache and if they needed to talk to her they could come alone. She even set it up that Vale was going with them....true the toddler wouldn't be expected to do much but she will be there watching ..and Leukos could handle the rest.

"... uh....really?" she said with a thoughtful look as she stared at Mel- Alice. ".... Well you won't be happy to know that they are the ones we used what we want to use on Kae... "
"The effects fades over time... but it has some side effects... "

Alice stared at the rats, narrowing her eyes. "So what exactly are you trying to do to her? She already has powers.. Are you trying to give her more or enhance the ones she already has?" she asked, not fully understanding what she meant by it. She finally looked to Mara, "...what do you seek to gain by doing this to her?"

"Ahhh.. you make me want to pat you on the head then throw you out a window. " she sighed. "Anyways... I am trying to give her something useful if only short term. I was going to give it to her as a necklace or something and scrap this but what she told me recently has me on edge. " she frowned staring at the rats again.

"She doesn't have strong magical skill...neither does a suit once it is nice and finished.. not until we add some enhancements. The activation process is secret but... well. I'm going on a tangent aren't I? " she shook her head. "Basically put one of those in her..." she said moving to a box and pulling out a piece of a fragment of a purple gem. "and after a few days she starts to show a power.. " she motioned to the other rats. "Even if they aren't very apparent" she frowned. "This piece comes from a meta named Moira..a bounty and it isn't like I know her power set but this is helping me figure it out. Super strength ...metallic bone... some kind of future sight?, telepathy, earth user...and two others I have no idea. Metas are to variant ...like the extra strength would work... but as for side-effects... metal bones...earlier versions killed the rat ...this past few attempts..well the fragment ran it's course and left ..very dense bones... "

Alice cast a quick glare at Mara for her comment before sighing herself and looked to the fragment of gem. A beautiful gem that had an oddly nostalgic feel even if she had never seen anything like it in her life. She was staring at it curiously until a name caught her attention and she looked to Mara in surprise then frowned. "Moira?... Moira Broken?..." she asked with a pained look. It would be too much to ask to know if it was the same one. But then, the powers... strength, earth, telepathy, metallic bones. It had to be. "...that's... my daughter..
" she spoke in a pained voice, looking at the fragment with a strong look of longing before taking a deep breath and looking away. "So hoping to give mother a leg up against Haven.. when they take her." she muttered, trying to change subjects but it was hard.

"It is ...ah ...well my condolences. Yes she has a bounty on her head and people are trying to kill her because she did a nice little massacre some weeks ago with her shark of a boyfriend" she said a little dryly but moved and grabbed the tiniest of the fragments and held it out to Alice. "Here, and yes trying to give her a leg up since we have no idea why they still want her.... Well I know why -I- would want her but Haven doesn't seem to have that far reaching views. " she said shaking her head. "Other thing... the powers are random...each stone give off one power .. but it's random until well activated "
"There could also be more side-effects to, these are -rats- sooo far from human testing that it isn't even funny... "


Alice frowned even more at the further details of her own daughter. It would seem both daughter were now crazy murderers. She sighed, not wanting to think about it anymore. She took the shard, turning it over in her hand a few times as she stared at it. "So mother's vision was her cutting into someone at Haven, you said. Hmm." she was thinking before looking to Mara and wuirkibg an eyebrow. "Random... Well. Any of Moira's powers are beneficial." She paused, side effects , right. She had another chill up her spine, thinking back on the rat that escaped. "...right."

"Yes, of course it could always be someone who looks like her " she just raised a brow and shrugged. " So this where you come in... how safe is it? " she motioned toward the rats.

She took a deep breath and took a step closer to the cages. "Well, rats are the closest things to test on over mice and apes. While they don't share the same dna, they do share 99% of our genes. Which, accounting for junk dna, is not too bad. I'd say with the success of the tests shown here, it's quite possible for this to work. Especially more so that we are talking magic over science. And better yet, that rats don't have innate magical abilities, and elves do. The only major and quite deadly side effect of implanting these into elves is that.... well, ...power overload. Resulting in frying all magical receptors or maybe just straight up exploding. Good thing mother doesn't have that strong of innate abilities. So my opinion, is that it's absolutely unorthodox and I personally wouldn't recommend it, but my mother would be all for testing this." she sighed, "So I say let's do it. I can manage the flow of magic and healing to help stabilize her during the procedure."

"That is what I was thinking. Normally science rests on the genes of the individual so you have the right set or die then go on to the next gen. Magic on the other hand can change the individual ....and that's a much as I know. " she muttered then sighed with an annoyed look. "Lets not go into all the legal implications that can happen. Outside of immoral ...doing -this- on true race or human without the testing and permits will get me in serious trouble. Even if Haven just seems to be getting a slap on the wrist for doing worse " she muttered in annoyance. "I'll let you handle the power overloading thing but if she has weak innate abilities won't that overload her anyways? " she raised a brow as she looked through the shards that were left from when Tri was captured.

"Since she dieant have much power, it shouldn't overload... Basically her body can handle a lot of magic, she just doesn't have the knack for it. Whereas cramming something full of magic that already is almost at its max would pretty much just go boom." she explained, glancing at rats then sighing. "I'm also aware of the legality of doing this. But I'm pretty sure she would have consented to this regardless." she rolled her eyes again. Classic Kae, getting herself into such predicaments.

"Well.... I can now share the blame" sounding almost happy even as she was aware this could likely break off what friendship they had. Looking through the stones she stopped and looked at Alice. "How good is your word? I don't want any of what I just told you to be passed on to anyone else ... there is already enough security leaks and we don't need anyone else trying to imitate this. It could quiet easily be the extinction of metas"


Alice gave an unamused look to Mara. "You know my own mother asked me the same thing once. Look, I'm not into running off at the mouth for secrets. I keep to myself. And I'm loyal to my mother. You're both friends, aren't you? Then you really don't have to worry about me." she commented with a light smile.

Mara raised a brow "If that is a threat to say you are going to the moment we're not friends that would be very short sight..." she said dryly. "Now then ...she has a low ability but high threshold so a large piece would work. Pity you can't calculate magic capacity as you could dosage and weight. Okay this one works hopefully ..." she muttered picking one up with a frown. "If Tri knew..." she sighed. "I would have used one of Tri's baby teeth or even that one ethereal feather he shed but ...with everything she could easily wind up hearing sounds instead of teleporting and there is always the collar to think of" speaking more to herself as she turned and looked around, staring at the rats one more time and hoping the side-effect wasn't one of the worse ones and that it worked most of all. Pulling out her phone she texted an -ready to go-. "They will do the insertion..you manage the release of power and heal up both insertion points so she will never know. After this if you want to tell her go for it, I don't care but not until everything has passed "

Alice quirked her eyebrow, "Well, you really are paranoid... Of course it wasn't a threat. I assume you and my mother are good enough friends not for this to be some kind of temporary thing... Hell, I honestly thought something else at first, which would honestly be the biggest karma driven laugh I would have had with that. But really, I'm not here to say my loyalty sways. Don't backstab my mother, and we are cool. That's pretty much what it boils down to." she spoke simply then sighed. It was like talking directly to her mother, it was almost giving her a headache. She smirked as Mara picked the biggest piece. "Yes, let's jack my mother up with the biggest piece of rock in the lab..." she snarked with amusement. She shook her head, still smiling. "Alright, I can do that. And I'm not sure I really want to tell her we did this. Her paranoia is bad enough as is. It's better to just... say this never happened. And if it comes up, I'll help take the blame, okay?" she offered with a slight chuckle.


"Haha... ha. " she said shaking her head but lets it drop before she caught on to what Alice. "Wait... me...her? No....." she started laughing hard as she clenched her hand around the fragment. "Just friends..." she snorted calming down a bit even if she was crying from the laughter. "Oh it's going to come up...when she comes back... or she is going to be freaking out as she develops a new power a few centuries later for no reason.....then again she likely has a lot of reasons if she did." she said smirking. " Lets go..." she waved Alice to the door before leading the way.

Alice's smile grew into a grin and then she busted out laughing herself as Mara finally caught on to what she was saying. "I know, I know. Mother would have a s**t fit if she caught wind of what I just suggested." she commented, her laughter dying down after a moment, almost on the verge of tears herself. "I know she's going to ask, but I mean, we can just pretend we don't know anything about it...." she chuckled then nodded. She moved to follow Mara through the door as she had motioned to her.

"Isn't that cruel and unusual punishment? " she smirked but closed the door then lead the way out. "No, i'll tell her. It's to serious not to especially if she gets one of the worse side-effects. If she just looks buff for the next few months then maybe I won't " the smirked grew into a grin despite the situation as she lead the way to where they were working on Kae. All the while knowing the gravity of what she was doing btu still doing it anyways.
Alice shrugged, "As if she wouldn't do the same.." she joked then nodded in agreement. "Okay, that's fine." she responded then laughed as she imagined a buff version of her mother. Okay, that was weird. She walked in to see her mother unconscious and being worked on. There was a dread that set in deep within her stomach to see her own mother like this but she shook her head, trying to get rid of her nerves.

Kae groaned, taking one deep breath before jolting up into a sit as she was in full panic mode, clenching her teeth, throwing off the blanket on her and quickly searching over her body before she shoved herself to a weak stand despite her dizziness and slammed into the desk, almost knocking over the chair. She opened a drawer, pulling out a journal and began to scribble things onto the paper frantically.

Red eyes blinked and narrowed under the bed then closed back into the darkness. //She's awake.//

//....how is she?// Mara muttered staring at her own eyes in the mirror as she started to brush her hair again.

Kae finished writing things down in the journal, threw it back into the drawer, and slammed it shut. "ZIRA!" she yelled in anger.

There was a pause, //She is unhappy.//

//..... why?// there was a flicker of concern, were the symptoms emerging to soon? Did she seem something? Does she know? Great why couldn't she wake up all happy a great.....okay that would just making her highly suspicious.

Sighing she put the brush down and headed out of her room, making a beeline toward Kae's only to knock a few minutes later. Wondering if she remembered last night.

Kae was pacing and looked frantic, only increasing as Zira didn't answer her. She was trying to convince herself to leave, hand on the doorknob, just working up the courage. As soon as she heard the knock, she swung open the door to see Mara and widened her eyes slightly. "Get in here. Now!" she demanded, grabbing at her to pull her in and then shut the door behind her suddenly. Running a hand through her hair, she looked distressed.

//It would appear she has a lot of things on her mind. Racing thoughts. Paranoia. Fear.//

Mara's eyes widen in alarm as she was pulled in but didn't resist as Kae closed the door behind her. She cast a quick look around the room before focusing on Kae and frowning in concern. "Kae....what's wrong?" she asked staring at her carefully, bracing herself for anything.

Kae began to pace again. "I uhhh.. I don't know.. Scope... and a suit. like a man's suit... there's trees and I... ahhhh dammit." she was rambling, tapping her head with the palm of her hand. "....there's screaming... and blood... people are involved... and I don't know who's hurt...." she muttered, her hands were shaking.

Mara stared at her silently and internally breathed a sigh of relief even if it was only short lived. Another vision...did that mean the other one was adverted? or was this a second one added to it? Listening she shook her head, way to general again, lets see if she could help her narrow her scope. "Scope. Telescope... or your scope of vision? The people...anyone you recognize? "

"...scope of a gun... watching him.." she paused, thinking, closing her eyes. "No.. I don't know any of those people..." she finally spoke then frowned, trying to figure out her dreams from visions. "I don't know... I... It wasn't suppose to happen..." she muttered again, beginning to pace again in a frantic state of mind.

Mara crossed her arms and closed her eyes. "Scope of a gun...suit... someone dead and screaming. Sounds like a sniper getting his shot or close to it. " she said quietly. "Wasn't supposed to happen?" she tilted her head slightly.

"I'm not sure. I just know... watching someone in the scope. Then blood and screams then its over." she tried to explain but her head was hurting and the vision was fading in her frantic state. "I don't know. It happened so fast."

Mara sighed and shook her head. "Well unless you can draw someone's face.. just let it go. There isn't much to go by, every government has their own sniper" she frowned faintly. "Now the feeling of this-wasn't-supposed-to-happen is that coming from the sniper or the people yelling? or just yourself? "

Kae frowned, still looking shaken by the vision, "I don't know." she muttered again, just trying to calm down. "I don't know why I feel so worked up about it." she explained, moving to sit on the edge of the bed and put a hand on her head. She nodded, let it go, that's all she could do. "....I think from everyone..." she answered, frowning, tears filling her eyes but she was fighting back. Kae had no idea what it was making her cry and why she felt so upset about it. She shook her head, "...just... nevermind... I don't know much about what's going on, so I guess it's best to just... forget about it."

Mara looked thoughtful. "Everyone? Likely someone stepped into the line of sight at the last minute and they killed the wrong person. Maybe a kid since that is a few of the people I think almost any of them would be regretful for. " she let out a sigh. " Assumptions either way. Hm...do you always feel something from visions? And does this mean that somehow the past vision is moot or still likely?" Now she frowned.

She shook her head. "I don't know, it happened really fast and I woke up. It was outside.. where there are trees. I know... still not helpful.." she ran her hand through her hair. "During the vision, yeah. But not afterwards like this. " she answered then took in a deep breath, shaking her head. "I don't think so. I've never had two visions like this. Usually it's only one at a time." she commented, trying to understand but didn't. "I felt the fear of the sniper... And the pain of the bullet from the victim.... I think I felt them both."

"Victim and fear coming from the sniper. Yes definitely a miss and maybe wrong target. You might know the victim if you are also reacting...or maybe it was a red eyed elf." She just sighed since that was still pretty prominent on her mind and was mostly joke than not ."Okay, why don't you sit and try to sketch something...maybe I can recognize some since I know quite a few politicians and high class families heads. Might also help you calm down" still with everything, so far so good...and with the vision she doubted Kae was going to notice anything else.

"Actually ..do all visions affect your future somehow? Could this be connected to your first vision? " she looked thoughtful. "Well other than that could be the person you were cutting into. I don't know...I suck at this " she muttered and motioned to the desk.

"Doubtful." she shook her head. She sighed, "I can try, but I didn't see the target from the front. He was... really tall. Suit. I think purple hair..." she rested her head into her hand, thinking. "Not always my future. People close to me or related to me. Like I had one of you... As far as connected to the first, I don't know, maybe." she still moved to the desk anyway, sitting down and pulling a notebook that was already on the desk toward herself and opened it to try to draw. She was terrible at it.

"Purple hair and a suit..." she blinked, then blinked again. "One of those isn't like the other.... "she whispered while shaking her head, no clue. Moving to where she was drawing she winced "I say this in all truthfulness .....that su- is that a potato?" She stared and shook her head again. "Why not ask Zira? Could she could uh..."Download" what you saw ..upload that to me... or even draw better? "Grasping at straws if only because it relates to Kae that it might relate to them. But if she was viewing things through a scope it wouldn't be looking for faces around ugh. Could it be some Belrad politician? Purple hair, assuming it was natural...in a suit surrounded by people.. had to be some non-human politician or related and nothing was coming to mind and Kae knew to many people for that to be a good limiting factor.

Of course if she had better information she would pass it on to those affected by it but ..purple-hair-people-who-wear-suits-don't-go-out-'cause-your-being-gunned-for sounds a bit to...general. "Ugh, well...if that doesn't work I don't know. That seems a bit to outside of what is happening now, without any clues I guess you will have to wait and see when or if it happens. Plus it doesn't necessarily mean that whoever the victim is/was dies since they weren't being aimed for, that is hopeful at least?...well depends on where the bullet entered...eh hehe. Le sigh"

Kae shook her head. "That's what I saw.v she paused then shot a look at Kae. "No, it's not a potato! Ugh!" she threw the notebook back away from her on the desk. She sighed, "Zira cant-... she doesn't work like that." She made a frustrated noise. "Just.. nevermind!"

Mara shrugged and moved to pick up the notebook before putting it back on the desk. "Well then, want to head out of this room? " they weren't going to get anything out of Kae's vision at this point. "We can do breakfast, I promise I won't spike the orange juice or ..you know we are just in time to go practice with the metas"

Kae took a slow deep breath. "Yeah... Yeah, I want out." she responded. She paused as Mara mention spiking. "I knew it!" she narrowed her eyes. "You did something.... And I seriously don't want to know why you felt the need to drug me.... I don't." she got up, not looking happy about it but almost like she was just accepting it for what it was. "...don't do it again..." she warned and moved to the door.

".... So.... just putting you to sleep because you were freaking out wasn't a viable reason?" she muttered mostly to herself realizing that might not have worked with her either and likely the vision was the reason things weren't worse. "Breakfast or training?" she threw out again as she headed to the door to, dropping the other subjects completely now. She already pulled a strong or two to get someone to go and keep an eye out at the café Hexxis was at after the new information on Zeph other wise she wasn't able to do much more.
Kae shot a look at Mara as if to say she honestly didn't want to know even if it was that reason that she just gave. Sighing, she let it go, not commenting further on it. "Food." she answered bluntly. As if she actually wanted to train. Ha. That's funny.

Mara raised a brow then shook her head, not pushing it today. "Food it is, lead the way"

Kae nodded and lead the way down to the cafeteria. As she made it there, she took up a tray and looked over the foods and wrinkled her nose a bit then sighed. Ordering some breakfast foods, taking the plate, grabbing a drink, then moved to a table to sit.

"To the streets..."

Mara straightened and got up as she stared toward a Hexxis."So your back....." her face turned to a mask of anger the grief before she shoved it down again trying to compose herself. "Criel..how nice of them to be chasing stolen property for me....don't you think so? Either ways ...what do I need to know now?"

Hexxis walked in, standing just two slightly taller than she had left, only two inches, but still a difference none-the-less. She stared toward the ground blankly, almost exactly how she had when she had first arrived at SIU. "I have returned, yes." she responded in a quiet monotone voice. She didn't respond to Mara's comment about being hunted but then hesitated as she asked about what she needed to know. "Please specify." she requested with the faintest glimmer of a frown.

"Damn it Hexxis! Don't freaking talk to me like a robot! I know you have feelings, I know you have them because Tri told me. Now just tell me! Tell me something that isn't asking me for an order!!" Mara shouted, snapping, here was Hexxis back again and acting as if nothing had happened at all. This was who Tri raised and tried to save? Ree was to far gone but Hexxis... 'Darn you both" she said running her hand through her hair but her voice was softer.

There was a flicker of worry and regret as she looked away, frowning. "Things were fine. Then they burned down our home looking for me. We had allies in Belosh that helped us get out unnoticed. However, they must have assumed I would return to Belrad eventually with such a play, so they were looking for me here as well." She explained calmly, her voice was still slightly monotone but there was a hint of a somber tone to it. "I don't understand." she muttered before taking a breath before closing her eyes to steady herself. Opening her eyes, she looked blankly at Mara. "I don't intend to offend you or lead you to think I have taken steps backwards. I can only handle so much, and with recent events, I have choice but to minimize my emotional output. I'm sure you know why." she spoke the last sentence in a quieter voice, a glimmer of sadness in her eyes before it faded again.

".......I know why...and..and I can't tell you. Not when you're acting like this as you just reminded me. So get out..just get out. Get DH or Leukos to ....no wait, You're sleeping here. This is the most secure area we have currently" she swallowed, grabbing the phone off the desk as she headed toward the door. "Access anything and I'll give you to Criel personally "she said harshly as she moved to leave.

Hexxis hesitated, a setting fear within her. Mara's distraught nature, yelling, and lack of information was tearing at her. She narrowed her eyes in pain, "...I... I don't understand.." she muttered a little louder. She was trying when the deep sinking feeling began. "..Mara?.." she called out in a pained voice that threatened to break.

Mara stopped but didn't look back. "What"
Turning she glared "You didn't come to me for answers, you came to me for safety. So safety it is, your case is still in court bogged down by Haven's legal team while mine is still trying to push it through. I am sorry about your life with Zet or whatever but you reminded me of the perfect reason I can't tell you why Criel is after you. Thank Ree "

Hexxis was starting to shake as she swallowed hard. "Submit new evidence in court that I am an adult. I am not obligated to stay..." she tried to retort calmly but her eyes were filling with tears already.

'...you're still a liability, even now...'

She tensed at the voice in her head. "Because they believe Ree killed him... does that mean they will be after Tri too?" her voice was so soft by now, trying not to falter under the weight of her emotions as she ran a hand into her hair, the glimpse of her ring on her left hand as she stared down at the ground in distress.

Mara stared at her "Stupidity is contagious. This has nothing to do about being an adult or not. You're property, just like that ring on your finger and you have about as much rights as it in court " she said shaking her head, having assumed Hexxis understood the real problem.

"It isn't only about (Criel) death but the Renegades as well. He been playing a much deeper game than that. So yes they are after you and ..Tri " she shouted so not to cry, weaving the lie as easily as it was breathing. Taking a deep breath she shook her head "I'm going to go find someone...to help you get settled " she said trying to keep calm.

Hexxis looked down at the ring with a frown. "You're wrong. In Belosh.. I wasn't owned. This ring meant something there. And it still means something now as long as I give it meaning." she spoke sternly even if her expression was beginning to show how upset she was beneath the veil of blank emotions. "Here, I'm owned by SIU. By you. If I don't have those rights, you do." she paused then sighed with distress. "...but I understand what you are trying to convey."

She blinked, surprised that Mara was now yelling at her, not whether to tell back or to break down crying. "Ree... isn't a threat.. I haven't known him as long as you or Tri have and I may not be close to him, but he has a good heart. I may not have approved of how close he was with my malice... but he is not a bad person. He wouldn't kill [criel] and he is not with the Renegades." She defended softly, trying to combat anger with reason. "As for Tri.. if there is anything I can do to help him, you known I will do it. He hasn't answered me since he left... I... I'm just worried about him." her voice grew pained, searching for a reason to doubt her negative thoughts about it all.

"....understood." she replied quietly, looking down again and she frowned solemnly.

Mara shook her head " You're an adult now and married, don't think I didn't notice the ring. Still you are naive about the world and it is on all the things you can't find in books. " she clenched her hands into a fist to keep from shouting. "As for Tri, take a guess. Another job..at least it is keeping him out of trouble" she said turning away and going out the door to find someone before she broke down.

Mara walked out, glad for once that Hexxis didn't have the empathy to ask what was wrong when she first came in or that would have gone worse. Spotting DH in a borrowed form she waved and pointed silently to the room Hexxis was in while still holding her grief at bay. Her room...and a drink

"I don't understand why everyone keeps saying that!" she blurted out before pausing and sighing, withdrawing from the statement. She nodded as Mara told her that Tri had taken another job and that was his reasoning for the lack of communication. She didn't even try to stop Mara as she left, her legs giving out the moment the door was shut and she was alone. Covering her mouth, tears filled her eyes and wouldn't stop as they ran down her face. After only a moment, she move to vomit in the trash can, trying to keep it together but having the worst time with it.

Hidden Barbs

Mara sighed as she stared at the ID on her phone and answered it. "Hello?" she said a little gruffly, less energetic...just tired and depressed.

"Good evening Ms. Gold. My name is Seren Taneran and I wanted to reach out personally to you as a representative for the Norcrest government." the woman's voice was smooth and cordialc as she spoke.

Mara covered the receiver as she talked and took a deep breath as she moved to sit down and grab some paper and a pen. Uncovering the receiver she nodded "I see and what can I do for you today Ms Taneran?" she said leaning back in the chair with a frown but her voice had changed to be pleasant enough.

"Well, this will be a very delicate conversation, so I will try to be as quick as possible. I think you might be a little more aware of how this works. While the courts have been tied, and we can honestly do that for months... I wanted to offer you a small exchange." her voice fluctuated into one of an ulterior motive. "I'm sure you know we have something you want and you obviously know what we want. So let's make a deal..."

Mara gave a small laugh "Ah...Ms Taneran. Are you implying that that Norcrest is helping Haven try to get back what they gave Belrad? " she said trying to show the disbelief in her voice as she clutched the pen tightly in her fist. "I am sure that isn't what you mean" her voice lowered slightly. "If Norcrest wishes to involve itself into this affair you should be talking directly to my lawyer and Havens...including any -reasonable- offers to settle"

"I wouldn't be suggesting anything of the sort, Ms. Gold. Think of it this way. Hypothetically, if we had something you wanted... and you could have that memory restored the way it was... I would have thought a fair trade would be a broken girl who can still be fixed in the right hands. But again, that's theoretical. I just wanted to pick your brain and know what you thought of that. Honestly, as for the case, we plan on dropping it since Experiment 001 does have an expiration date... And would be nearing a point where her usefulness would be moot." she smirked through her voice, twirling a pen around her hand idly.

"Ah -hypothetically- " Mara repeated as she gave a feral smile at the wall. " If -hypothetically- Norcrest was helping Haven and could give a reasonable answer to its people why they are wasting thousands of dollars on a broken girl that supposedly has a time limit well in that case ....no they still have nothing I want. A living girl for a dead body is not a fair exchange and i'm the sentimental type. So while this is fun an all I am sure you weren't calling to ask hypothetical questions and wasting both our time. So why don't you get to the real point? Is Norcrest helping Haven?" she asked sweetly.

"Norcrest wishes to negotiate the issues with Haven to give Experiment 001 better options. Since she started with Norcrest, and owned by SIU, her transferal was split between Belrad and Haven. While we have found she does have an expiration date which is variable to the amount of fighting she does, we originally didn't know how to fix the issue. Haven has given the option to fix the issue. Which we were sure you would deny. So we had to offer something to you so that you will be more inclined to accept such an agreement. And surely we would offer you more than a dead body." she spoke just as sweetly with a hint of coyness.
"I assure you this is an isolated situation with Haven and we do not associate with them."

"Interesting because if you are aware of the case one of the things being fought is the fact I never signed her transferal paper to Haven and it was in fact my second in command who did not have that power in his temporary position. "she said leaning forward again in her chair. "I am very disappointed to hear that Norcrest is attempting to consider that piece of paper true when it was done outside of my power. " she said idly. " Very -disappointed- "

"This is why I am calling you. I am aware that you have that power and your weight in this case. While the courts are still walking in circles over it. This is a personal call, to see if you were interested in such an offer. A last attempt to fix her and extend what life she has. It is benefical to you as someone who has grown into your family and beneficial to us as she is still a government project. ....repairs are.. necessary, Ms. Gold. I'm sure you know that. But again, that is entire up to you. If you decline, the case gets dropped and you can have her back with an unknown amount of time until her expiration. Her conditions will only get worse unless something is done. Your call."

" I decline" she said simply rolling her eyes to the sky hoping that would get through to her.

"Alright then. You should receive a call tomorrow morning with the case dropped. We have spent far too much effort to have this drawn out any longer. And while I had hoped for a different outcome, you appear to have your mind made up. I apologize for the inconvenience. Have a great day, Ms. Gold." the receiver clicked as Seren hung up.

Mara looked at the phone silently then pocketed it, leaning forward as she pulled out a file on the case and started to search through the papers. //Leukos?// she thought loudly, not even sure the teen meta would hear it.

Searching...searching..she was looking for the time the paper was signed and Kae disappeared.

Leukos was listening to music, laying down as he was relaxing while Melody and Vale took a nap. Though, he could have sworn someone called his name. Sitting up, he pulled off his headphones and looked around. Leukos closed his eyes and tried to focus where the thought came from, finally speaking to Mara. //...did you call me?...//

//Yes. Can you do me a favor? I need you to keep an eye on Hexxis for a while // she said with a frown as she took out the paper and compared it to when Kae was taken. Haven suddenly finding the cure her a**... //As in red alert shout the moment you see trouble... I am not expecting it until tomorrow but you can't be sure. Actually if you invite her to where you and vale are that might be better// she said quietly, her voice cold as she stared at the paper on her hand and finally placed it all back.

//Yeah, I'll just stay with her for now. Melody can look after Vale. I don't want to take chances or be distracted if it's really that serious.// he answered calmly as he came to a stand and wrote a note on the desk before moving out of the room and toward Hexxis' room. //I'll let you know if I see anything suspicious.//

//Thanks// there was a flicker of a smile that was followed by grimnce even if she knew Tri was okay the fear and pain were still there and Leukos reminded her so easily of it. Getting up she left her office walking downward toward the sever room and the secure room by it. Arriving she moved to one of the computers and typed her code showing a nearly clean computer with just the OS and a couple of programs. Silently she opened up a page and started typing.

-Sometimes I wonder why everything is happening and especially why everyone wants that girl when they have million of others.

Tell the other, I received a call. Norcrest is helping Haven, extremely interested in helping Hexxis over come a new problem aka time limit. Something -not- mentioned in her file. Either ways they said more fighting= closer to death, likely a lie. And Haven suddenly found a cure a bit after Kae was taken and soon after, Hex was signed over. Norcrest says will drop case if I declined, was prepared for me to decline. Tried to offer me something.... likely you.. or your return. I didn't asked, I knew you would want Hexxis free more than returning. Doubt they are done with just that. Take her. I just needs constant DNA samples sent back to keep people happy. Kae has had a vision of herself returning to haven.. we don't know why ...cutting into someone arm with dark skin, Zeph?. I hate sounding like a conspiracy theorist but maybe they need Kae to fix Hexxis? Zeph for parts? Oh right... Zeph is also the one who tortured Kae then saved her.

I am writing this because I am grabbing at strings and I am sure you guessed. It doesn't matter, take her, order her put ... keep her away from Haven and norcrest. -

Finishing up Mara saved and got up, turning off the computer and leaving as she sent a text to Wizard asking him to clean out her computer, it's been lagging. As a code for the pick up and clean out.

Leukos moved to Hexxis' room, knocking softly. Hexxis was laying down practically asleep as she fought the urge to fall asleep. Hearing the knock she slowly perked up before moving to the door and opening it. "...""

"Hexxis, mind if I come in?" he asked.

She hesitated, thought about it then finally opened the door to let him in. She remained silent as she waited for the reason for why he came.

"How are you feeling?" he asked, his expression not as enthused as he felt.

"..fuctioning with granted errors, otherwise I am... okay. " she answered blandly in a soft voice.

"That's good. Mind if I hang out a bi-.."

"Why are you really here?" she warned, look not impressed.

He sighed, "Because Mara wanted to make sure you are ok-..."

"I am fine. Please go away." she demanded in a calm voice.

Leukos stared at her. "I can't do that."

She was regretting letting him in as she sighed and grabbed her purse and began to walk out of her room.

"Where are you going?"

"Leave me alone."

He frowned and began to follow her closely. //She is refusing to let me be around her...//

Mara narrowed her eyes and turned around heading back only to nearly slam into Hexxis as she came out. //It's okay, I got it. Seems I finished faster than expected// she thought to him as he stared at Hexxis. "Where are you going?"

Hexxis stopped immediately as Mara almost collided with her as she exited the room. She stared blankly at her before letting out a soft sigh. "...cafeteria.." she replied simply.

Leukos frowned faintly. //I'm sorry, Mara. I tried to talk to her and she started walking off. If you have this handled, I'll leave it to you.// he thought to her, taking a step back to let Mara talk to Hexxis.

//yep, thank you. Sorry to have bothered you// her mental voice tired with hints of grief in it as she stared down at Hexxis. "I rather you don't. I need you to head back to the others" she said simply.

Hexxis gave a flicker of confusion that faded quickly as her eyes looked over her face, trying to read what she meant. "...head back?..." she asked curiously, but was honestly unsure of it.

//No bother. Let me know if you need anything else.// Leukos gave a small nod to Mara and walked off to return to his room.

Mara waited until Leukos left the area before continuing. " Norcrest called. They gave me an option return you to them and they will give me back Tri or watch you die. Guessed what I picked and let's say it wasn't returning you to Haven "

Hexxis stared at her, processing the information before frowning, "....so you have refused their offer for Tri in lieu of..." she paused, tilting her head in confusion, "...watching me die?.." Her frowned deepened. "A threat? Is that why you wish me to return to the others?" she asked before looking away. "....for how long..." she asked quietly.

" For how long? For how long what part?" She sighed, biting down her frustration and going back to being cold.

"...how long will I be with the others..." she clarified her question, still staring blankly.

Mara stared at her "Why the heck are you asking me that? Do you -really- have somewhere else to be? This is your life we're talking here not some party in someone's house" she narrowed her eyes, missing both Tri and Ree right now.

She blinked, not expecting Mara to react this way, frowning. "....safety can be temporary... a threshold of known danger before safety is secured outside of control environments... I had only wanted to know if I will be moved again... And how long.. How long I just keep worrying about my own life like this.." her voice was slowly growing louder. "It doesn't matter if I have other obligations. I asked a simple question. If the answer was indefinitely, then you could have just said so." she narrowed her eyes well. "..when do I leave.."

Mara kept watching her then shook her head. "This was always your problem Hexxis. For being such a wanted super soldier you are pretty dense when it comes to things that are actually important vs things that aren't. Your other obligations matter since you seem to have a habit of just running off when ever you feel like it or breaking security. So yes indefinitely and now, someone you know will likely be coming to get you " she said as Wizard passed then, blinked and continued on to the room.

Hexxis kept a narrowed gaze with Mara, the only bit of emotion on her face. "..when do I leave." she asked again, a little more abrasively.

"As soon as they arrive" she said narrowing her eyes as he phone buzz. Silent,y she pulled it out of her pocket then finally looked away to look and frown deeply. "s**t wizard...just s**t" she said looking up as Wizard walked out of the door then stopped and looked faintly concerned.

She glared at him then looked back at the phone. "Never mind. Your staying here..now I mean the indefinitely. What prior commitments do you have that will interfere with that?" She turned her look back at Hexxis as Wizard looks faintly concern still.

Hexxis looked concerned but annoyed, the emotions surfacing for more than a moment before fading again. She then had a flicker of confusion as she changed the plan to staying there. "I do not understand." she sighed. After only a second she blinked then narrowed her eyes once more. "I don't have prior commitments, I have a life. I am within a societal norm to be concerned for how long I stay in one place, where I go to next, and when I go." she answered bluntly. "What seems to be the problem?"


Mara took a deep breath and looked at her."this is why I said you have absolutely no clue. You don't have a life you are in the middle of a battle between SIU norcrest and haven who are all wishing to own you.you are wandering around Belosh with some one completely incompetent in keeping you safe because he can't even himself safe just relying on a handful contacts. It is time to wake up and realize what the hell is happening without you having a teenage surge of rebellion. What happened in Belosh was going to happen now or very soon. My plan to win and eventually let you go is being hindered by the fact so many people want you and the fact you are dying. So no you don't have a life as much as we want you to do continuing as if you do is idiotic. "

Hexxis immediately opened her mouth to say something in contest but held her tongue about it. She took a breath before speaking again. "I have learned so much, and I had a life. I don't feel it's fair that everyone seeks to obtain me... I am a person...not a machine." She spoke softly, no fight left in her voice as she spoke with a calm tone and looked down. "...I am homesick..." she muttered in defeat before sighing. She then looked back up to Mara with a frown, "...dying... why do you say that..." she asked, concern on her face. "...do you...believe that...?"

Mara frowned and crossed her arms "What do you think Tri and I had been trying to do with this program? You are only now realizing the problem with metas. " she said irritated."your homesick..." she looked like she was going to say something and shook her head before glancing up at her."You have a heart problem. We thought it was before you died but maybe now it was already preexistí get or could be something else. That will be done, what I am trying to figure out is what to do "

"I only have these problems because I am a government owned project. As a meta, I still have a chance at a normal life... But as a weapon, I'm not allowed to do that. That is the problem I am facing..." she explained flatly, her voice lacking any emotion as she spoke. She looked away, her hand gripping the strap of her purse as she attempted to grasp at what Mara was saying. "I'm dying of a heart condition that had previously been thought to be a byproduct of a traumatic injury but in reality is a pre-existing condition exacerbated by the incident." she repeated in her own words, trying to understand the weight of the situation. "...and in short, I am dying and there is currently no known remedy for this situation...." she added quietly, any emotion that would have been there was shoved down as deep as she could manage.

"You're not dying " Mara looked annoyed. "That is the part where they are lying. Partially. As a weapon you are dying...as a living person... well you have a multitude of options. This would have been great news if Haven didn't run around saying they have a cure for that right by cancer and aids "

"They said every time you fight you worsen your condition. I can still use you as not a fighter... the thing is you want a life so the moment I officially let you go norcrest and haven and whoever will be right back on your happy tail and this time I will not have anything to fight them with. " Wondering if she was getting through to her.

"As a meta you have a chance at a good life if you live and are a citizen of Belosh. Everywhere else..sure you can get by but the moment there is trouble that requires police or lawyer up rears the fact you don't have rights. Then add to that the abuse that happens to those who are threaten with Haven and the like to get them to work or do things they normally wouldn't have."

"Might I suggest that you not say that the notion that I am dying is a fact if that is not what you mean to say. Most people would be devastate to realize that they are soon to be deceased. I am not immune to that feeling." she spoke robotically almost out of spite. Taking a long exhale she sifted through fact and fiction. "While they have stated such a grandiose scenario, it is now in the back of my mind of those possibilities. It is no secret that my condition does seem worse. But I do not know why, other than for stress or, as they suggested, combat." she then closed her eyes, trying to think. "Then indefinitely... becomes forever... or until I'm dead.." she commented softly with a frown before looked to Mara. She was silently staring before she looked away once more, "....I feel... conflicted... " she muttered quietly before gripping the strap on her purse tighter. "...what do I do now..."

Mara was tense, irritated talking to Hexxis and her robot-like reactions, irritated by being offered the option to regain Tri and being unable to even consider it. If it had been when she still through Tri was dead.... gaia she might have considered it. Might ... likely came to the same conclusion. "You stay with me. You join SIU, you don't go running off and yes pretty much permanent. "

Hexxis didn't react until the very last part of Mara's instruction, frowning, reaching up to a necklace that no longer resided around her neck and a pain in her chest as her hand grasped nothing at all. "...what about Zephyr..." she asked, slowly. It was inevitable that she would ask, knowing how she felt about him. She wanted to say more, to ask more, but all her thoughts hung on that one question, forcing her to deal with that first before letting her think of anything else.

Mara frowned "Hexxis... do you remember when Kae was taken by Haven? When you split during the whole fight to go and try to rescue her from the Renegades?"

Hexxis hesitated when Mara brought up her most painful memory, her hands already shaking lightly before she put them down, behind her even. Her face blank but just barely. "I remember that time..." she answered softly, just above a whisper.

Mara stared at her and just pushed on "Kae told me a few days ago that Zeph "rescued" her and gave her to the renegades... we knew that. What we didn't know is that he was the one who tortured her under contract from Haven" she said frowning. "So...no he will not be allowed here. "

Wizard just listened quietly off to the side.

Hexxis showed a deep flicker of concern as she processed that. It wasn't what she expected, but this was new information to her. She hesitated before quickly reaching into her purse to pull out a cellphone, starting to dial a number.

Mara crosses her arms and watches her. Wizard blinks but allows the call to go through.


Hexxis wasted no time at all getting to the point of her call, as her voice was stern. "I was informed that you were the person responsible for torturing Dr. Kae at Haven under contract. I was aware of your contracts with them.... but you.. tortured her." the last words became soft, unsure and a hint of fear for an answer she hoped wouldn't come.

Hexxis exhaled with a slight relief. "...and you?"

She paused and frowned. "....anything else I should know?.."

Hexxis looked increasingly more troubled, ".....anything else regarding haven..." she spoke softly with an apprehensive tone and a hint of confusion.

She nodded even though he couldn't see it. "Yes."

Mara raises a brow "Tell him also that he isn't welcome here"

Wizard tilts his head but move to the wall listening as he stared at the pattern that has been splotch along the walls to give it texture as if looking for any pattern.

Hexxis paused, hearing Mara but ultimately ignoring her for the time being, "...but did you do it..." she asked quietly with a frown.

She closed her eyes in distress, putting a hand to her chest, "...why?.." a simple question, but it was spoken with a sense of pain.

".....so you tortured her..." she paused, her voice becoming shaky, "...i... i don't understand..." There were tears in her eyes by now, holding tighter to her chest.

Mara frowned but stayed quiet this time watching her.


"....why didn't you say..." she asked, her voice wavering as she took deep breaths, clenching her teeth as she was holding back the overwhelming urge to cry. She crouched down, still on the phone while her free hand stayed where it was. "....you knew they wanted me..." there was a small pause, "...after that..."

"That's not the point, Zephyr!" she spoke with distress then hesitated, her voice dying down to just above a whisper as it threatened to break. "I am being informed that I must join SIU..... permanently... " she announced before choking back a bit. "And you are not allowed to come here because you tortured Dr. Kae."

Tears broke through slowly falling down her face as she curled up, crouched down and crying as she spoke. "...yes."

Mara grimace feeling like she was saying that Zepher wasn't allowed because he throws a tantrum and not something more serious than that. True she didn't harbor that intent ill will Tri had to the merc...she was a little more open minded but this... nope. Crossing her arms she watched Hexxis slowly break down with a lack of sympathy.

Wizard turned to look over at them and tilted his head slightly as he moved to Hexxis and sat down by her.

"...don't..." she spoke simply. "I am." she sighed, she tried her best to steady her voice but it wasn't working, the tears simply wouldn't stop.

"...i know..." she paused taking a deep breath. She glanced over to Wizard who came to sit next to her and frowned, not because she objected but to show how she felt. Hexxis remained crouched as she clutched her chest as her heart was beginning to race.

"..too many things.." she whispered, closing her eyes tightly. ".....I know..." she spoke, trying to keep it together. "....I...have to go now....." she spoke suddenly, there was a painfully long pause. "Goodbye..." she forced out, her breathing starting to become rapid. She hesitated, opening her eyes before narrowed them in pain. "....yes.." she commented then hung up the phone.

The moment she was off the phone, the wheezing started, having been able to hold it off as long as she did but not a second more. She broke down crying, dropping the phone on the floor next to her as she put that up to her face and her other hand was still clutching her chest hard.


Wizard tilted his head slightly and shifted up to his knees as he leaned forward slightly and started patting her on the head, maybe a little to rhythmically but he was trying. With his other hand he reached over to grab the purse and pull out the medicine, pausing in his patting to uncap it then return to doing so while offering the medicine to her.

"what....what are you doing?" Mara frowned watching wizard then stared at Hexxis. She was busy trying to figure out what they were talking about it seemed like Zepher bombed it badly going from Hexxis reaction.....wait... reaction . Shi* she was crying and looked in pain. "s**t..... your heart?" Mara reacted moving from angry and resentful to alert and concern.

She felt Wizard patting her, and she didn't have the energy to try to stop him or the capacity to try to understand what he was doing, She looked to him, wheezing as she followed in her gaze down to his hand that was offering her medication. Her chest hurt so much and she didn't know why this kept happening. Her vision double then unfocused and shifted back. Hexxis reached out to take the medicine but missed, her vision to blurry to coordinate where she grabbed. Mara was finally on the same page as she figured out what was going on. Hexxis nodded silently as she strained to keep from passing out.

Mara cursed again and looked at Wizard. "Stop doing that and get someone from the infirmary down here!!. Heart attack!" she hissed moving to him to grab the medicine and then attempted to grab Hexxis face and chin with one hand while trying to put the medicine in her mouth with the other.

Wizard blinked with a flicker of surprise but nodded as he used a computerize synthetic voice to call help to the lower level.

After a few seconds he looked at Mara and nodded, indicating there were people coming.

Her breathing was out of control and her heart beating way too fast. Her teeth were clenched from the pain and reaction to the issue, too tight for Mara to have put the medicine into her mouth. She was wheezing loudly as she closed her eyes and fell unconscious, falling onto the floor.
Mara cursed and looked at Wizard again. "Get melody to join us" she said looking for a pulse and ready to do cpr if she couldn't find one until they got here.

Wizard got up and looked down at them a hint of concern on his face as the medical crew reached them and moved to take over for Mara until they could get a stretcher down there.

Mara would find her heartrate incredibly fast and out of control before it suddenly stopped and there was no heartbeat at all.

Mara kept track of it mutter something about not moving as she passed on care to someone better experience. That person took over then blinked and shouted no pulse as they started compressions. Another person opened the defibrillator and started to set it up since they had been warned of what the problem might be but giving a few more seconds to see if they got her heart reacting again.

Mara backed up quickly, eyes wide as she stared while Wizard kept far away from them watching with a hint of worry.
The medical staff would find it difficult to administer chest compressions, having to put more force into it for them to be effective. However, there was still no change in the absence of a heart beat.

One of them growled "What is she made of?" after barely compressing her rib cage a couple of times and that was nearly after putting his full weight into it. "Move... lets try this" one of the others said as moved forward placing the defibrillator on Hexxis's chest and another one on her side. The machine started up calling for clear three times before administrating a shock then calling for someone to take pulse which the first person did.

Wizard moved forward a bit, staring in silence and confusion.

Mara clenched her teeth and just waited. Either Hexxis will live or die, she doubt Norcrest expected her to be this far gone already.

Her body jolted at the sudden shock. but ultimately there was still no pulse.

They shocked her again

Wizard moved closer and pulled his sleeve back up but waited staring.

Her body jolted once more in response, her heartbeat starting again but weak. She remained unconscious on the floor, still unresponsive, but alive.

Wizard stopped as one of them shouted there was a pulse and the other took off the lines. The stretcher was already coming down the hallway and she was quickly moved to it and taken upstairs where they would try to stabilize her then find out what was wrong.
Mara stared after them with a grim line at her mouth as Wizard just followed curiously.

Hexxis would continue to have a weak pulse for at least an hour before it would start to beat normally again. Although she remained unconscious for a little over 12 hours.

During that time she would be hooked up to an ekg have blood test run, have an chest x-ray, echocardiogram, an a cardio MRI if they can't find the reasons or believe it is needed.
Wizard would have stayed and watched from out of the way. If only because would have had asked Mara for the permission.
