Zac gave Lucas a small smile, a sad one, because part of him knew Nico –should- go, should go to be safe. But at the same time, part of him wanted to be –dreadfully- selfish too. “You too… Okay Lucas?” he said earnestly. “…Please let me know if their okay… I haven’t heard much.” He squeezed Nico’s hand, selfish and possessive. “He’s right you know.” He said after a moment, glancing away because he really didn’t want to look at him when he said it. “It’s really not safe here. We saw people…die the other day, and I don’t think most of them even knew how strange this town could be. “ He gave a sideways glance at Autumn, stuborn as he was he couldn’t just let her have too free reign. “Hey um…Deacon, if she starts looking like she’s in scary amounts of pain, could you like… tickle her and see if we can get her to stop without –actually- hurting her?” He asked cautiously.

Lucas nodded to Zac, standing and giving him a squeeze on the shoulder before letting him go. He moved back towards Deacon and Autumn, and when the latter requested to be let go, he made a light shooing motion towards the blond. "Let her go, she was mine first." Deacon nodded to Autumn but cast Lucas a dour look, letting her go slowly. The werewolf grunted and wrapped Autumn up in a hug, no room for complaint, no room to deny. "You're still my Princess," he informed her, his voice a little stronger than it had been, "and no PMS from either of us is going to change that." He pressed a careful kiss to her cheek (fangs didn't care about intent) before he let her go as well, stepping out of her way. "Promise him, Autumn," Deacon's voice was slightly stern from behind her. "Promise me you're not going to over-do it." Lucas lifted his brows at Deacon's little assertion and smiled to himself, moving past the blond towards the door. Once there, he stood in the frame and watched, arms folded. For his part, Nico was beginning to hold onto his indignant annoyance over fear, which made breathing a bit easier, at least. "Zac, I could be hit by a bus in California and then what? All this 'safe' business is bullshit. We live each day and we make the most of it, we don't -- exist on the 'could bes' and 'what ifs.'" He glanced to Autumn, not really sure what the hell was meant by 'healing,' but he could only imagine it was going to be pinch style, just...different. Healy. Lifting the hand he held, he again kissed the back of it, watching Zac quietly. Yeah his brother was there but...that was something he'd deal with later. Much later. If ever.

Autumn rolled her eyes at being told to be careful, and gave the room a very over-dramatic sigh.
"Fine, fine, I won't overdo it. I promise," She grumbled, then turned to peck Deacon on the cheek. Her annoyance aside, she knew in her heart that the group really did have her best interests at heart. It just ******** SUCKED that she wasn't like. Big wolf man or big soldier guy. She was Autumn Smith, apparent flower girl and healer. It was what fate or whatever had given her, and she wasn't going to ignore that. Not when it could make a difference.
Taking one of the extra blankets, Autumn laid it carefully over Zac's chest. Setting both her hands on the cloth, Autumn closed her eyes and focused. The sensation was IMMEDIATE. It was knives to her chest, slashing that felt like she was being torn apart. But she did not waver. Autumn clenched her jaw and massaged the area, focusing. Willing the pain away. As if it had never happened.
When she opened her eyes, Autumn pulled the sheet away. The wounds weren't... entirely gone. They'd ******** made her promise (grumble grumble, well-meaning assholes), and she was honest at the very least. But now, while the cuts would scar... it wouldn't be agonizing pain. Little pricks, maybe. Tearing needles. But not the soul wrenching pain it previously had been.
"There," she sighed heavily, only shaking slightly as she smiled at Zac. "Shouldn't be... so bad now. And I didn't overdo it! Are you happy, you little s**t?"
All was said affectionately, of course.

Zac made a face about the Bus argument. He was…right, which was frustrating. “It… It just seems –more- dangerous here.” He said after a moment of trying to find a better reason that Nico really should go and be safe. “I know we don’t exist on those, but … but they just seem so much more likely in this town. I mean, where ELSE would I find out just how sharp…were-wolverine fingernails are. I mean, I feel like an extra in X-men.” Some of the tension absolutely had eased out of Zac’s shoulders, though he did look guilty for it, he saw the tension fading from the set of her jaw just as much as he felt the innate edgy feeling easing out of his own shoulders. “Thank you.” He said softly. “I know that…hurt.” He ducked his head, feeling stupid he’d let himself be hurt that way, but not at all sure he would have done –anything- to change it. The idea of being escorted downstairs the way he was, still embarrassed him. “So…yeah, I’m happy you didn’t over do it, you may be my favorite pain in the… chest.” He said with a teasing smile. “But you and I, we push things too far some times.”

"The pain doesn't stick around, dummy," she teased, flicking Zac's nose with a smile. For the most part, Autumn looked more tired, but no more worse for the wear. Once more she sat down on Zac's bed, looking to her psuedo-brother fondly. She batted her eyelashes.
"Me? Take things too far? Never." Autumn patted his leg, gently as to not disturb anything, then whipped back to Deacon.
"Wait. Babe. If we're X-men... do I get to be the hot naked blue chick? Cause I wanna be the hot naked blue chick. I don't remember her name, but she's a boss-a** b***h."

"Maybe," Nico replied with an indifferent shrug, "and maybe it's a little safer for someone else if I'm here." The dark-haired man was a veritable snake with words and was not going to be dissuaded easily. He kept a hold on Zac's hand while Autumn did...whatever it was she was doing - he made assumptions, of course, but he didn't pretend to understand - watching the teen relax a little under her power. His own shoulders sagging with relief, he glanced over to Lucas -- only to find the man was gone. Catching Deacon's eyes, he saw the blond shrug. Green eyes finally turned back to Autumn, tired and not quite so wild with panic now. "Mystique," he offered quietly. For his part, Deacon was not a comic book aficionado, nodding towards Nico when the other answered for her. "You four can be the superheroes. I'll be your cheerleader." His smile was faint, but honest. He didn't have any powers in this room, anymore than Nico did, but at least the kid had a better understanding of such things than he did. He moved to the foot of the bed, looking at Zac carefully, making sure by the teen's expression that Autumn did not, in fact, over do it. "Any of you thirsty? Hungry? I saw some vending machines and a cafeteria on the way in."

"Not all super hero's have magical powers." Zac said softyl with a smile. "... some of my favorites, don't have powers at all. I really think that makes them really cool... I mean maybe except Batman, I have mixed feelings about Batman, but one of you can be like, Nightwing, or , well you probably know more name than I do but... heck, Hawkeye, he pretty much rocks.

"Ew, no, not Batman. My boyfriend is not Batman. He is not allowed to be anyone who was nasty-a** Christian Bale in the movies. That's..." Autumn shuddered and stuck her tongue out. Like, seriously. Batman was just a rich a*****e anyway. Superman, on the other hand...
"So her name is Mystique? That's cool," Autumn turned back to Nico, smiling brightly. "I just know she's Jennifer Lawrence and she's hot, so there's that. And she can like, turn into other people? I think?"
She wasn't a comic book person. Never had been. Slowly but surely, Zac was exposing her to the nerdier side of things... but it was a steep learning curve. Cause like, seriously? Why was the metal guy not susceptible to the guy who controlled metal??? That was never a thing? And they always took a metal jet and a guy in a wheelchair to fight the ******** guy who controlled metal???
"I'm getting upset about Magnet Man again, Zac," she said quietly, snickering a bit to herself. It had been... kind of an issue with them.

Deacon smiled in his lop-sided manner while Nico uttered an abrupt 'HAH!' at the Hawkeye comment. "Closer than you know," he remarked with a light chuckle. His blue eyes turned between Zac and Autumn, watching, evaluating, and after a moment, catching Nico's eye, he subtly lifted his chin. The dark-haired youth hesitated, looking from the other man's gentle 'lets give them space' gesture to Zac, down to the hand he still held and then over to Autumn. He hadn't missed that she'd been on a roller coaster of emotions since they'd gotten there, and despite himself, he understood that she was doing her own version of dealing. That maybe she needed that time with Zac more than he, a guy courting the teen, needed. Nico gently squeezed Zac's hand and leaned in, kissing his cheek to be polite. "We're gonna go grab some lunch, 'kay?" He gently smoothed Zac's bangs back. "We'll be back later. But, text me if you need anything, okay? I mean it." He would have liked to have given Autumn the sort of good bye long-term lovers could, a spoken word and maybe a wave, but he was in no position to be so aloof. Deacon leaned over the foot of the bed to put his hand on hers, kissing her temple softly. "I'll bring you something to eat," he murmured to her in a way that didn't have a lot of wiggle room to deny him. Especially if she was using her powers. "Call me?" He let her go with some reluctance as Nico did the same to Zac, putting a hand on the younger man's shoulder in a be strong you nerd gesture. "It was nice to meet you finally, Zac," Deacon said by way of apology for how it happened. "When you're out of here, maybe we can grab lunch or something, have a bit of a happier meeting." "After lunch with me," Nico interjected, almost petulant. "It's up to him, roméo." Glancing back to the two, he gave them both a smile. "See you soon." Moonstone Dazzle I just tried to type your name as Moonstar, good job me
