Where Melody was excited, Nikolai's face fell. It was the same man. The same man that revived Melody turned him into a weapon. The ability to control lives and manipulate minds... This man was powerful, and he was a genius if he could hide his reputation so well.
Nikolai pursed his lips. Should he tell Melody that her hero and savior was some kind of mastermind? He wasn't sure he could do that to her, but the longer he thought about it the more he realized it had nothing to do with how they felt. This was for her safety. If Erik twisted his mind for the sake of killing everyone off then he surely had a purpose for her revival.
"Melody," Nikolai said in a soft tone. He wasn't smiling anymore, and the joy in his eyes had become grim. "Erik's not a good person."

"He almost killed my family."
Nikolai waited for Melody to absorb the words before continuing.
"The reason I haven't visited you in the past couple weeks is because I had been trying to kill Leon and Aysun, even the other six Sins. My memories were rewritten to make me believe that they had to be killed. It's only been a week since then and I'm still recovering, but both Sloth and Aysun have told me that a man with green eyes and black hair named Erik came by all the time. I was isolated that entire time, Melody. Erik was the only person I saw before my memories were changed. Granted, I don't know why he'd revive you, but he tried to kill Leon and Aysun using me."

"I can't tell you that, dearie. I'm already having my men look for anyone that fits the description," Nikolai explained as he leaned back in his own seat, crossing his arms. He tilted his head and closed his eyes as he thought over what he knew. "If he has the power to revive you on his own as well as the power to rewrite memories than he must be very powerful. He's also resourceful if he knows who I am and knew where you were. Since he's in Heaven maybe he's one of the types with a strong sense of justice and tried to get rid of us Sins. All the other Sins did have to come to fight me, and they all nearly died." He looked at Melody. "Did he ask anything about the Sins? Or maybe me, Leon, or Aysun?"

Nikolai stared at Melody for a moment. It was all piecing itself together. "So he revived you to use you as a database," he pondered aloud. "If he has the ability to rewrite memories, then I wonder why he didn't just make you think he was a friend of mine... or at least look through your memories."
After a quiet moment, Nikolai got out of his seat. "Sorry for the short stay, dearie, but I really need to piece this together or else that man might come back with a new plan. I don't think you should talk to him if he visits, though I suppose I can't stop you." He nodded a goodbye then left.
