Kiana saw the confused look in the pup's eyes and realized she had not used simple words in her excitement. Then she listened as the pup seemed to confirm her thoughts of him being on his own. It still seemed a little disconcerting that Virajith had to survive by himself, he was such a little thing. When he spoke about how Mother Ocean was inside of him, guiding him, she thought about that. So it sounded like some kind of combination of the White Alpha and instinct when it came to his survival. Well, now hopefully she and Rothar could expand on the knowledge Mother Ocean gave him. When he mentioned he could hunt, a soft smile played on her own muzzle. That still made her wonder what exactly he ate, since he had not told them about his diet.

"Well, I am eager to see this hunting skill you have, little one. Though, that does make me wonder, what do you eat?"she asked gently. She could see the pup seemed to want to travel with them, which she was glad about. Looking over to Rothar, she could see past his stoic look, detecting a hint of amusement in his eyes. It was obvious that Rothar approved of the pup, even if he would not say it verbally right now. Her tail wagged lightly back and forth, Virajith's enthusiasm was contagious and she was looking forward to traveling with him.

Rothar & Virajith

Virajith bounced about a bit in his excitement, causing the puddle water to splash about. He was eager to do just that and show her his skills and maybe even learn some new ones. The thought of both the hunt and the learning thrilling to the curious little ocean pup. Mother Ocean had told him he needed to take lessons from everything and take nothing fro granted. For a pup these sorts of concepts would not be understood fully, but Virajith felt it within him and did not fight the feelings he got.

When she again inquired about his diet he paused his movement and took another, observant look at his surroundings before looking back to the pair of alphas. "I eaten the small swimmy fishes." He finally responded thoughtfully his fin tail swaying.

Rothar silently flared his nostrils at the response, more out of exasperation than anything. So the kid has a special diet, that will make this more challenging than it already was. with the flood damage food was scarce as is and it was harder to hunt the needed food for just himself and Kiana, not that the small pup would eat much at the moment, and Kiana was still recovering from her injuries. He lowered his stern eyes on the cub, deep in his silent thoughts. Though he had no ill intent towards the pup his 'serious' face and expression often could mislead.

"But i no think i needs to eats only them." Virijith added getting a feeling from the way the big red one was looking at him right now that his original answer had unsettled or irritated him. Then the glanced from Rothar to Kiana, his fins flowing with the motion, alert as if trying to read them and make sure everything was good.

Kiana laughed lightly when Virajith began to bounce in the puddle, some of the water splashing her. She could definitely tell that the little one was excited and it made her happy to see it. Then he mentioned that he ate fish and she knew that might be a little tricky for them. Truth be told, she didn't know much about hunting those, but she would learn what she needed to. She heard Rothar's flaring beside her and she knew he was unsettled by the special requirements the pup would need. Reaching over, she gently nuzzled him, letting him know that everything would be alright. As if to confirm, the pup said he didn't think the fish were the only thing he had to eat.

"It is alright, little one, we will figure out how to make it work. You see, while you eat fish, my mate and I eat...well, land things. Things like, well, I think it is best we show you. Food is scarce, but we should be able to find something. Climb on my back, then we will teach you what we eat and how we hunt,"she explained. She laid down on her stomach, wincing slightly when her side brushed up against the ground. Taking a deep breath, she pushed passed the pain and waited for the pup. She knew that saying the names of things would not mean anything, without a visual of what she was talking about. That had been her mistake a bit ago when she tried to explain things to Virajith about family and the White Alpha.

Rothar & Virajith

Rothar huffed softly again, still slightly discontent though overall he was not upset with the newest young addition to his pack. He saw great potential but knew it wasn't going to be easy, just like anything thing else worthwhile. He rose and with a flick of his tail turned and began to slowly pad away leaving Kiana to care for the pup as she saw fit. He knew she would not be far behind,

Virajith blinked his big brown eyes and smiled happily again at her encouraging words. His fin tail swayed back and froth as she spoke and his young eyes filled with curiosity about this 'land' food and his young mind imaging all manner of things. He padded over to her as she rose but paused, sensing more than understanding or seeing her pain. He tilted his head slightly and looked up at her with wide, innocent, curious eyes as he asked. "Is momma sky alright?"

Kiana's golden eyes watched Rothar, seeing he was still uneasy about what the little one needed, but that was understandable. With food harder to find because of the floods, having to find a different kind would make things more challenging. She knew they could handle it though and would manage, this pup would be well worth it. When Rothar started heading off, she knew he expected her to follow as soon as she had the pup. Then the pup spoke and her heart melted as he called her 'momma sky,' she could definitely get used to hearing that. She reached over to him and gently nuzzled him, her way of letting him know she would be alright. He must have noticed she was hurt, so the little one was worried about her, she thought that was sweet.

"I am just in a little pain, little one. When the floods came, Rothar and I got swept up in it. I got stabbed in the side by a branch, which wounded me. Thankfully, there was a healer who patched me up, it will just take time to heal completely,"she assured. She was glad Rothar hadn't gotten hurt, that would not have been good for them. That and he had been the one that aided her to the healer, he had been like a crutch to her. For that, she would always be grateful to her mate, he really came through for her. Her focus went back to the pup in front of her, waiting him to climb on.

Virajith

Virajith tilted his head to the other side and a finned ear twitched as he listened with that wide, innocent look still on his face. He wasn't sure he really understood everything she had said, but she had said she was alright. He wagged his fin tail again gave her an adorable smile before finally doing as she had asked and excitedly, but carefully climbed onto her back. After all he had no desire to make the pain she had explained any worse. He nuzzled his nose into her vibrant, soft fur. "Momma sky, can you play with the clouds?" he inquired curiously his eyes looking at her wings curiously.

Kiana could still see a little confusion in the pup's eyes, but she couldn't blame him. She was sure that same look would be in her own eyes when he tried explaining things from the ocean. The smile he gave her, let her know he was happy though. She watched as he padded over to her and began to carefully climbed out her back. So he did at least get that she was hurt, she was glad he had been so gentle getting on. Then she felt him nuzzling her soft fur, which brought another smile to her muzzle. She reached back and carefully nosed him tenderly, she would treat him like her own. Yes, he may be different, but in her eyes, he was a pup that was going to be part of her family. After all, she wasn't a normal Varsythe either, wings were not something exactly common. Once she was sure Virajith was comfortable and secure, she got gingerly to her feet.

"Yes, I can indeed dance with the clouds. My wings help me to play in the sky. I will take you for a ride someday, if wish to do so, little one. For now, we have to catch up with my mate. Hold on, he shouldn't be too far ahead of us,"she replied. She had to admit, she was impressed the pup had figured out she could get as high as the clouds in the sky. Taking off, she began to walk as quickly as she could in the direction Rothar had gone in.

Rothar & Virajith

Virajith swayed his tail happily as she answered his question, proposing to take him up to the fluffy clouds some day. Though still just as content and happy to enjoy her warm presence. The waters embrace was comforting in many ways but Mother Ocean's waters weren't warm and soft like Momma sky's. He clung to her starry pelt best he could as she picked up the pace in pursuit of the powerful red one that had a serious arua. His head perked up enjoying the breeze ruffling his fur and gently blowing his fins about.

Rothar hadn't traveled far, he was taking a leisurely stroll for a pace taking in the smells, sounds and sights around for any signs of prey. He needed to bring something down and soon before his energy disappeared. Kiana was still not fully recovered and not to say she was useless, she was definitely limited in the extent of her aide, especially with the new 'addition' she would have to watch after. He glanced back at the two as they caught up to him before turning his head towards a small stand of trees. He paused and flicked his tail as he crouched low in the tall grasses. "I smell rabbits, I can take them stay here and watch the pup." He said in a low, commanding voice before slowly moving towards the scent. He needed to get as close as possible to increase the chances of a kill.

Kiana made sure as she went to her mate that Virajith was secure on her back. When she saw him liking the ride, she couldn't help the smile that came to her muzzle at that. Then she focused more on where she was going, before coming upon Rothar. She could see he was paying attention to everything around her, so she tried to be as quiet as she could. Her own ears rotated here and there, listening for any sounds around them. It didn't take long until she could hear the hopping sound of some bunnies, right as Rothar mentioned them. She sniffed the air, yep, definitely rabbits and her mouth watered at the thought. When Rothar told her to stay with the pup, she was about to protest, but she knew he was right. Giving a soft nod in answer, she gently lowered herself to a laying position to get comfortable as they waited. Her golden eyes followed her mate's retreating form, until he had disappeared from sight.

"Alright, little one, we will wait here while my mate does the hunting. Soon, you will see what a rabbit looks like, at least a dead one. Eventually, when I am recovered, we will show you what a live one looks like. You can try some when Rothar brings it back, see if you like it. How are you doing back there, I didn't go too fast, did I? "she asked. She looked behind her to where the pup was still on her back, her eyes gentle on his little form.

Rothar & Virajith

Virajith curiously climbed his way up Kiana's neck to look out at Rothar's impressive form move through the grasses slowly. He watched with big, curious brown eyes, he tail fins swaying about happily. He gave a shake of his head in reply to her question, more focused on trying to watch Rothar hunt than word the reply. He had quite enjoyed the feel of air rushing past him.

Rothar moved slowly through the tall grass, each step placed carefully as to not make a sound. Not having a large pack and hunters to wear down the pry he had to get as close as possible to secure a kill. Every little bit of food was vital in this hard time. His nostrils flared silently and his tail extended behind him acting as a balancing support as he crept on. He could now see the rabbits. There was quite a few but he would only be able to take one so his sharp eyes scanned them for the plumpest of the lot. He had three mouths to feed unlike larger prey he didn't have to go for smaller weaker ones to secure a kill. He knew he could catch any one of the rabbits.
Making his selection he waited a moment then launched from his hiding place right into the midst of the rabbits. They scattered in all directions, but Rothar's motions were seamless his target already locked. In a few quick strides he closed the gap and in one clean, powerful bite it was all over.

Virajith couldn't see all that well what was happening from this distance but he caught the motion of Rothar's strike and then a moment later it was all over. He leaned over to look at Kiana upside down from his head perch. "Momma Sky, are rabbits good?" he inquired curiously.

Kiana felt Virajith climb higher, so that he could get a better look at what Rothar was doing. She could only imagine it was quite interesting for the pup to watch an adult hunting. Part of her wondered if hunting underwater was different than on the land, she would imagine so. Her tail swayed back and forth on the ground behind her as she waited for Rothar to finish and bring back their dinner. When Virajith shook his head to her question, she was glad, and thought she saw a glint of excitement from the pup. Then she had him hanging over her face, asking her a question of his own.

"I have always found them quite delicious, specially a plump one. I must say deer is my favorite to eat, since that has a lot of meat to it. However, due to the floods, those are kind of rare right now, so rabbit it is. What are fish like to eat?"she questioned back. She had never had fish before, she wondered what it might taste like. Maybe one of these days she would try it, just to see if it was any good. For now, the thought of a juicy bunny made her mouth water again.

Rothar & Virajith

A cute crooked smile pulled on the corners of Virajith's muzzle and his tails waved about as she inquired of him about fish. "They wriggly but be yummy. I catch one for you Momma Sky." He said brightly right before loosing his balance and rolling off his perch atop her head to land in front of her with a soft thud. He giggled and looked up at her eyes from his sprawled position on his back. Then he rolled onto his feet and padded off through the grass at a rather quick pace for one so small.

Rothar rose up to his full height the large, plump rabbit dangling from his bloodied jowls. His sharp eyes scanned the area to see if there was the possibility of a strangler that he could take as well. He hid have 3 mouths to feed and one rabbit no matter the size wasn't going to last long. He huffed, flaring his nostrils, none of the others remained that would be within his grasp. He turned and strode back towards the pair he had left. Hopefully this little cub had the great potential that Kiana saw in him.

Kiana smiled softly as Virajith told her that he would catch a fish for her. Well, that would certainly be a nice thing for him to do, so she could taste one. She was just about to say something when the little pup slipped off of her and plopped down on the ground. She couldn't help it, a soft giggle came from her, especially when he looked up at her from his back. Bending down, she nuzzled him, just before he got back on his feet. Then without a word, he headed into the grass, faster than she would have thought. She struggled to her feet, not wanting anything bad to happen to the pup.

"Virajith, where are you going, little one? It isn't totally safe around here,"she called quietly after him. As quickly as he headed into the grass, she wasn't sure if she would be able to catch up. Had she been back to full health, maybe, but not when she was still hurting from her wounds. Her golden eyes scanned the area, looking for any signs of the small black pup. Her ears would alternate between listening for him and listening to hear if Rothar was headed back.

Rothar & Virajith

Virajith padded happily through the tall grass. It was like a strange forest as it grew taller than he stood. But it didn't bother him, it kind of reminded him of thick tangles of kelp he used to swim through. The fact his eye couldn't see past the tall yellowed grass didn't stop his progress. He was guided towards the water with his nose and instinct telling him the way to the nearest water source. He was gonna catch Momma Sky a fish. So focused on this task he did not reply to her call, heed her warning, or understand that she was probably worried for him.

Rothar saw Kiana stand up and start to move. Still quite a ways off he couldn't tell what was going no but he didn't like it. His ears folded back and he raced towards her as fast as his legs could carry him.

The small stream was close now Virajith could hear its gentle trickling. His tongue lolled out and his fins waved happily. He poked his nose out of the tall grass and gazed out at the stream. Surely there would be at least one fish here for Momma Sky he though before he padded out and slid into the water without a sound. The water felt like a loving embrace and felt wonderful on his little fins. He was so happy as he dove under the surface and began his hunt for the little swimmies.

Kiana continued to pad in the direction that Virajith had gone in, thinking that maybe he had not heard her calling to him. She watched how the grass seemed to bend, giving her some indication of which direction to go in. Her ears picked up on the sound of running, knowing that Rothar would meet up with her soon. So with that knowledge, she pressed on, following the pup. It soon became clear where the little one was going, when the stream came into view. She managed to get there just in time to see him slip into the water, his little fins moving as he did. A part of her was worried, but the other part knew he had come from the ocean, so he should be fine. She laid down near the water's edge, waiting for the pup to resurface. She figured the black ball of energy had gotten it into his mind to catch that fish now for her.

"Oh Virajith, do be careful down there please. I guess I will get that taste of fish very soon. Probably a good thing, one rabbit might not have been enough for all of us,"she mused to herself. Her eyes were focused on the water, looking for any signs of movement. She did wonder how long it would take to catch a fish, it probably wasn't easy.
