Lepidolite nodded approvingly as the agents began filing into the room, observing his carefully prepared presentation. He stood proudly, surrounded by what he felt was currently his greatest accomplishment. He smiled and nodded, and greeted everyone who introduced themselves with a good clap on the shoulder. He would have said more, but understood that this wasn’t the best time to have personal conversations. That would come later, when he really had the opportunity to focus on the one-on-ones.

For now, he was just happy to have everyone there. This was about more than just Infiltration—this was about Romano's Constitutional Haven.

It had the opportunity to boost the success of the Negaverse to a whole new level—and regardless of what branch an agent was in, it was a prime location both to provide training and guidance for impressionable teenagers as well as ensure that the older agents had the opportunity to maintain a good career and let the Negaverse take care of them a little bit.

It was a good plan, he was sure of it—and judging by the amount of people that showed up, he had no doubt that this school would succeed. When the room filled and he was confident with his audience, he cleared his throat to direct their attention to him.

"There are seats if you want to make yourself comfortable, but you can keep doing whatever you were doing as long as you're listening. I'm impressed with this turnout, and pleased that so many of you have interest in the Haven. Whatever branch you are in, you are welcome. Many of you are probably asking, 'Why a school'? 'How much did this cost'? 'How is this going to help us'? —I'll cut to the chase. Romano's Constitutional Haven is the up-and-coming school of Destiny City, and I guarantee by year's end we'll be showing the world what we're capable of. Yes, it's going to be a lot of work—but that's what you're all here for, right?"

He waited for a moment, but the question was rhetorical. "We all believe in the cause of the Negaverse. We all know that this world is going to spiral out of control and we're the only ones who can stop it. Senshi—Knights—even cats are a threat! And more and more, we're losing the ability to control how many pop up, and where. You think these aliens are the worse things out there?" He crossed his arms over his chest solemnly. "Space is a big place. A few senshi, here and there, might not seem like a threat—but fifty? A hundred? What do you think a war with that power is going to look like? What do you think that's going to feel like? What it's going to call, from the deep corners of the universe? The senshi are undivided, and sloppy. They don't know what they're doing, and they're divided. We've seen it here, we've seen it everywhere. They're a loose cannon, waiting to explode. And when they finally do? …They're going to take this world down with it. So we've got to stop them. How do you do that?"

Another rhetoric question; he pointed a finger at a large posted featuring the front of the school.

"By preparing the world. Our youth is malleable. Even if they aren't Negaverse material, we can teach them to be strong. The Haven is designed to aid or current age-appropriate agents in a course that will prepare them for life, giving them the skills they need to succeed and topple the competition. But it'll help us shape the next generation, too. Imagine, being able to walk into a room and see fifteen, twenty eligible candidates. Not picking strangers off the street, or investigating the same civilian for days or weeks before determining that they're what you want—or worse, not. And it's not just the students—faculty."

He gestured to the room. "Do you all have stable jobs? Good insurance, good pay—security? Are you happy, or making a difference?" A fresh smile lit up his face. "If you're not, now you can. Romano's will feature a wide variety of classes, all designed to help our students excel. There's a list of courses we intend to offer posted around the room, faculty benefits, proposed schedules and activities, and extra information. If you want to read up on it, make sure you stop by my desk and pick up a brochure and information packet. I'll also be answering questions and taking appointments. And, don't worry," he assured. "We will be talking about Infiltration, too! So let's cover the school, and then we'll get into the specifics. Can I have any questions, now, before we move on to the next bit?"

The silence did not deter Lepidolite; instead, it fueled him. The grin lingered on his face and he clapped his hands together. "Excellent. Should any questions pop into your head, feel free to interject or schedule a private meeting with me. So, school done, we can talk about Infiltration. Which is an excellent branch to be in if you like to talk, meet new people, and rise quickly in the world. To be honest, it's the safest of all branches, if you're smart. And if you're all here, I know you're all smart. Infiltration is all about knowing the world, knowing yourself, and knowing the people around you. Our goal is to make the world a better place, to help shape it. The Negaverse is in the unique position where we've already got our foot in the door—and you can, too. If you're seriously considering joining the branch, or moving up, try to get to know some of the superior officers. Look to your Generals—these are people you should trust, people you should aspire to be like. People who have carved their way in the world—with and without the Negaverse. And all of you, everyone here has the potential to do that. In fact, I see a few faces here that I know you'd recognize powered down." He gestured to his side, as if inviting someone to stand next to him.

"I'm not sure how often any of you had a platform to speak, but I'd like to share mine for a moment if anyone's interested. Do any of our veterans, or agents who have found success, have any tips? Any advice? I'd love to have you join me up here."

It wasn't that he didn't want to do the work; truth be told, he had a list of tips and suggestions in his head, and even a few job clippings resting on the desk behind him, but this wasn't about his successes. It could be, but he'd already had his moment to shine with his school. This was about recognizing people who wanted to be recognizing, and giving a hands on approach. It was about showing everyone who they could rely on if they wanted to talk to someone, and about hearing from people who knew the city better than him.

Galaxite listened raptly, clearly eager to hear everything that Lepidolite was saying. He did make his way over to one of the offered seats and settled in, which was good because if he hadn't he might have jittered with sheer nervous energy. This was his first time being in the presence of a General-Sovereign since Laurelite - and he rarely spent much time around other people, anyway, but he was obviously going to need to get used to it.

Because he was eager to teach, to go back to the job that felt right. Which meant he was going to be in rooms full of students, and he was going to be able to help them see the right side of the war before they even knew there was a war.

He would be helping them, protecting them, guiding them away from being swept up by Order, where they would only end up lost and alone and afraid. Like he had been. Sheep, ready for the slaughter, or ripe to be dragged into the Negaverse.

Better to skip that part, and just bring them straight in, rather than risking them being one of the particularly unlucky ones who ended up dead instead of corrupted.

Besides, he couldn't live in Caleonite's home, not contributing, forever. That wasn't fair to his lover. He would be able to bring in a paycheck and contribute to the house, while doing something he loved and helping the Negaverse. Truly, it was a perfect opportunity.

He chewed on the inside of his cheek, trying to decide if he had anything worthwhile to contribute to the general conversation. It was hard to be sure - he had been in the Negaverse for several months, but so much of it had been taken up by acclimatizing to his new life.

He wondered if just acclimatizing could be counted as a success. He had started over, and that might perhaps resonate as a success story to people outside this room.

If someone forcibly pulled into the Negaverse, all of his memories gone but an enigmatic line of poetry, could put himself back together enough to be willing to teach, that was something.

But for the moment he was silent, just leaning forward in his seat and listening, hoping someone would speak up. There were surely distinguished agents here who would be eager to speak to their accomplishments.

Lepidolite waited for a moment, tapped his foot for a few seconds, and when no one seemed interested in stepping up, he shrugged. "We'll have to schedule a conference or something our officers can present on. Maybe a job fair?"

He might have been thinking out loud; he mulled the idea over and then continued, "In any case, the point is, Infiltration will give you the opportunity to rise to power. You can have a safe, cozy job—maybe you print in a newspaper, maybe you get on the Board of Education, or wind up in City Hall. The Negaverse has the means to help you wherever you aspire to be. You have in your hands the ability to craft the world, and the Negaverse will support you. Want to start your own business but don't have the funds? File with the Negaverse. Want to be a local celebrity but can't get your foot in the door? File with the Negaverse. But big jobs aren't the most important jobs—it's the little jobs. The everyday jobs, that have you interacting with people on a daily basis. The Eyes and Ears of the Negaverse, and the Voice, when you need to be."

He seemed to truly believe in the officers in the room, and the Infiltration Branch, and the Negaverse. Never once did the man before them waver, and his eyes sparkled as he moved through the topics.

"This job might not be for the quick to act, the irrationals, or those without tact. You have to be good with people, or be willing to learn to be good with people. You have to be patient, and you have to know when to give information and when to collect it. You'll probably spend more time powered down than you will powered up—sure, we all need to gather energy and fight off the senshi, but you'll have the option to better judge your own schedule. You're going to be at the front end of the civilian movement. When the Senshi problem gets too tough to hide, the civilians of this world are going to come looking to you."

Lepidolite glanced around once more. "You're going to have to behave, though. Stay out of trouble, make friends—especially friends in the right places. You'll run into people on a daily basis and have the ability to judge their candidacy for joining the Negaverse. Infiltration is one of the most important roles in the entire Negaverse. Brute force will only get us so far—real change," he tapped his temple, "Real change comes from the thinkers. The people who can change the minds of others. Who know how to make the world a better place. And that's us."

He pointed across the room. "That's you. So if you care about this world—about your friends, and family—help me. Help yourselves. We can win this war."

There was no uncertainty in his voice.

"And we will."

Lieutenant Reinerite

Reinerite had listened as Lepidolite started by talking about his plans for Romano's Constitutional Haven and they sounded like good ones–

And it was a shame that she was too old to be a student at the faculty, perhaps she could aim to eventually apply for a job there. It would perhaps mean speaking to her teachers at Sovereign Heights and see if they would be okay with her shifting her courses - but it wasn't as if she minded putting in the work...

And given that she was planning to move on post Sovereign Heights to study at DCU then perhaps she could align things even more closely.

She nodded to herself - the nod a decisive one - as she made her mind up, making a note that she would have to tell her parents that she was not planning to return to the UK for university.

Reinerite continued to listen when the General King moved on to the Infiltration portion of the meeting, carefully taking notes that she would look over later - and whilst she hadn't had any questions personally - she had listened to see if any of the others gathered would raise anything.

She had waited until the General King had dismissed them before finally getting up to leave, the meeting an informative one - in more ways than one.

And posting an exit for Reinerite here as well
