"Jaro, wait a-"

The searing pain hurt. Aodh was already yanking his arm back - that probably did not help - as the metal piece slipped and sliced along his left forearm.

He ended up falling onto his butt, arm cradled against his torso. Tears pricked at the corner of his eyes but he had not really made a noise yet. There was plenty of blood on his arm, on his shirt, and the smell of burnt flesh and hair (that poor arm was going to be missing some hair) in the air.

Aodh was biting at lip hard enough to draw blood from that as well. Jaro just got a look from the teen, grey eyes dilated in pain, but still no words.

The slice was not that deep but parts of it were clearly burned, just like the outside edges of it. Luckily it had not been so hot that it had immediately cauterized it. When Jaro finally pressed something to it, Aodh finally let out a gasp.

Which turned to a chuckle - almost a giggle really - and then he was biting his lip again to stop himself. "<******** me it hurts," he said with another brief bit of chuckle-giggles. This time he was biting the inside of his cheek, eyes watering.

Turned out that when he was in pain, Aodhan laughed through it. Further proof he was definitely odd.

Aodh tried to speak, to argue he was not broken this was just his completely utterly not normal reaction to pain. Especially when it hurt like hell.

Then, before he realized it, he was scooped up and Jaro was carrying him and -

The flush on his face was so much worse now that the pink there was also because of Jaro picking him up like he weighed nothing. When water was ran on the injury he was definitely turning to hide his face against the older man's chest to smother the string of curses (and the stray giggle).

When Aodh got to work one day, Jaro was having heated words with another part time worker. The young man was tall and good looking, but had never been particularly good at the job aside from carrying heavy weights.

Jaro seemed to like looking at the man a lot, a different look than he ever gave the young blonde, and it became obvious in the last week that he and the man had gotten involved. Aodh would have noticed the two of them disappearing, even during work hours, pursuit not recommended unless he wanted to see or hear things that would curl his toes...

This morning the man was tossed out. Shortly after Jaro made it clear to the blonde that there would be no work today.

The next day when Aodh arrived the gate was still closed up, several things dumped outside the chain link, and when the blonde got inside the fence he'd find the office and workshops empty and cold.

Jaro must have still been in his house.

No one worked for Jaro for any length of time and did not hear the stories. Aodh hadn't seen anything himself and the older man never looked at him like that anyway.

Even if he got some looks from people when he told them he was working at the scrapyard. Like they assumed things ...

It was not until he caught Jaro looking at one of the other workers that it hit home that the stories were true. Worse that he had inadvertently stumbled upon them by accident - not that he saw anything, the noises were enough thank you! - and it made his face heat up.

He was not really expecting there to be a blow up with all the looks that had been passed between the two men but there was. Aodh had kept his nose out of it, worked through it, until Jaro was telling him to go home.

Aodhan almost said something - like he could finish the work - but the look on Jaro's face had him merely nodding.

He was frowning at the lack of open gate and the things that were piled up. It was a good thing Jaro had let him know how to get in regardless (because sometimes he did sleep in and Aodh could start without him). Everything looked like it was asleep and the blonde teenager found himself heading towards Jaro's house.

There was his usual knock before he was opening the door open. "Jaro?" he called out.

"GO AWAY~" Came his voice from the house, but it was unlocked. He was thrown across his sofa with a blanket and the TV on to low volume korean dramas with the subtitles on.

He looked very dramatic, covered in fabrics and bare chested with a loose robe and one foot thrown out carelessly.

All of his things were around him, some of them it looked like had been gathered there recently. His favorite shinies all gathered and piled around his lounging form.


He was ******** terrible.

Aodhan ignored the go away. Instead he was coming into the house and making his way to where he heard the voice. He blinked when he found Jaro curled up on the couch with ...

"Did you bring your entire hoard in here?" Aodh had already made something of a comment that he was certain Jaro was meant to be a dragon. Especially with the way he was about things and ... Well, there were a lot of things that lead to it but this was the icing on the dragon cake.

"You okay?" he asked as he moved closer. Jaro definitely looked dramatic at the moment.

Jaro came back with a bag that must be an improvised first aid kit. He pulled out some burn cream, some gauze bandages, and antiseptic.

"Does it need stitches? s**t- I'm so bad at stitches.." Muttering again. "No I don't.. think.."

There was something on a cotton ball he was dabbing with now that stung something fierce.
