Lutrin stared hard at Chiara, scrutinising her every miniscule movement. At last she looked away, putting her chin on her knees.
“Hm...” She filled her cheeks with air, then slowly released it between pursed lips. Her brow furrowed.
“Maybe.” She did not sound convinced.
Alternating feet, Lutrin wiggled her toes up and down. Chiara's advice was sound, but it was not what Lutrin had wanted to hear. Aerona had gone off on her without provocation while Lutrin had done
nothing wrong. All she wanted was an apology so that things could go back to normal. Yet Chiara was telling her that she needed to admit fault as well. It seemed strangely out of character for the blueblood. Admittedly, Chiara did not know the full story but...
“Chiara, we are friends, right?” Lutrin asked suddenly.
