Hermes waited, rather impatiently, for the cat to actually answer him. It took a while; the creature did not seem to want to actually be helpful, which was relatively vexing. He would have just walked away, were it not for the fact that he was actually curious about what it had to say.

A golden brow arched.

"I'm not little, for one thing, and second of all, yes," said Hermes, as though he didn't quite understand the question that was being presented to him. "I require information, and you have it, so what else is there to ask about? I'm not sure I follow you."

Well, it wasn't entirely unexpected. Hermes' eyes narrowed slightly.

"What is it that you want, exactly?"

He rolled his eyes, which was a considerable effort for a feline to do. "I wasn't referring to your size, you know."

When Sailor Hermes asked his final question, however, Bob's furry little ears perked up. The sailor scout's expression hadn't changed, but the fact he was even bothering to entertain the Guardian's request was a decent sign, as far as Bob was concerned.

"TV."

There was no point to beating around the bush, not with this particular straight-shooter. "I just moved here and ours isn't hooked up yet. I want some place where I can watch television and not be removed for being... well."

One paw motioned towards his own pudgy orange body. "Me."

Hermes had no idea what he was referring to, for that matter, if it wasn't his size, but it was a pointless argument anyway. He frowned slightly, the expression indicating that it was probably a default expression for him. Pale blond hair slid across his narrow face.

"TV?" Hermes repeated, sounding confused. "You want...oh."

The ghastly beast wanted a place to watch television? It was absurd, really. Why on earth would something like a cat want to watch TV? But, well...as ridiculous as it was, it wasn't exactly earth shattering. And Hermes did have a TV in his small, simple apartment.

"All right," he said, after a moment's consideration. "You may watch TV at my place if you tell me what you mean about past lives."

He internally winced. Okay, so maybe he could have held out for a bigger request - maybe some grub to go, maybe a new bauble for himself to bat around when he felt like it. While he was ALL about watching TV, the dots in his head hadn't connected all the way to realize that acquiring a television probably meant having to go to Sailor Sourpuss's house to do so. Which, in turn, meant more bullshitting and making stuff up as he went to get to at least Judge Judy's segment that afternoon.

But...then again, finding out where one of these senshi lived could mean future opportunities for him. A place to crash in later, a new fridge to raid, a house to rat on if a NegaNerd paid him enough... no, this gig might not be so bad, after all.

Hopping down from the trash bin, he nodded his head in agreement, doing another figure eight around and in between the senshi's legs. "Deal. You lead the way, I'll answer questions."

I can only see this getting overly ridiculous from here, re: answers, I'm so sorry in advance LOL

Hermes' brow rose in a perfect expression of comical incredulity before he realized what the blasted beast was insinuating. The idea of letting something like...like this creature into his house was both unappealing and an annoyance he hadn't intended, but...he did need the information.

He sighed.

"We will not go to my house," said Hermes at length. "I will take you to another place where we may watch television at your leisure, if you answer my questions properly. Now. Tell me what you meant about me being special in a past life. What are past lives?"

"I see," he murmured. Well, that idea went out the window but hey - at least there'd be some place where he could possibly shake this brat off and watch some of the boob tube in peace and quiet.

The shrimp wasn't walking and the notion that he was being squeezed for info with the potential of getting ripped off...well, it didn't set right with 'ol Bob.

"What do you think a past life is, kid?" He took a deep breath, warding off the growing irritation as he savored the idea of feeding false information to someone who'd probably take it to heart. Heck, maybe he'd grow to be even more obnoxious to his little senshi buddies. Bob could only hope.

"Your star seed. It gets tossed back into the big old pot in the sky, after you croak. Then, whoever it is up there that stirs up the mix, they decide when and where it gets tossed to next. So you, Hermes, lived about, oh, I dunno... a dozen centuries ago or so? If not more?"

Pausing, he grinned as he got a new idea. Taking a few steps forward, he plopped his furry butt directly in front of the fella's winged boots. "Pick me up and carry me and I'll continue."

Hermes was watching the cat with an expression of mingled annoyance and suspicion, his eyes narrowing with every second that passed. A part of him debated on the ramifications of simply leaving the beast to his own devices - but, well, he supposed that he could set aside everything in order to get what he needed out of the infernal creature.

The damned thing was now blocking his path. Hermes stared at him, then gave a sigh that spoke of years of resignation, leaned down, and plucked the cat up to begin walking.

"Are you speaking of reincarnation, then? A soul that simply goes on and on once the person dies? That's ludicrous."

Tucking his tail between the senshi's arm and chest, he settled himself in comfortably within Hermes' grip. Instinct prodded him to extend his claws out to grasp hold of material, should the man suddenly decide to drop him, but Bob did his best to be at least amiable enough to not scratch the senshi. Yet.

Eyes rolled as he turned his head to lazily watch where they walked. "You, a magical boy wearing winged shoes, just took orders from a cat. What draws the line at ludicrous for you, exactly?"

His rhetorical (or was it?) question was followed by a scoff, but he continued, regardless. "Anyways, yes. You were you, but not of today. No, you were Hermes, faithful steward of the Queen herself."

Glancing up, green eyes studied the boy's expression. "AKA, you were kind of a huge hotshot when it came to the biggest royal family in the galaxy."

The cat was heavy. Hermes had a terrible desire to simply drop the beast onto the ground and let it go scampering off into the abyss, but his overwhelming desire to learn more of the homeworlds and past lives and everything kept him from doing exactly that.

A scowl was directed at the foul thing, but Hermes didn't get a chance to actually answer before Bob kept going. He opened his mouth, then shut it again, marveling inwardly at the idea of being a steward of the Queen - he was Hermes, wasn't he? That was the name of a god...

Hermes frowned.

"What kind of 'hotshot' do you refer to?"

"Do you need a dictionary, kid? Hotshot - bigwig - The Man."

The smirk was undeniable, one line of his smile crawling up both sides of his furry face. He gave up on staring at the senshi, choosing instead to watch the sidewalk cracks below them as silly looking sandals carried him on to his television victory. He had to be mindful of where they were going - after all, Snooty McSnoot here could very well be trying to lead him into a trap, but Bob had a feeling that he was too much of a greenhorn to think so deviously yet.

Yet.

"No one could get through to her without going through you first. She'd ask you for advice about all sorts of things, a real couple of girlfriends, gossiping it up and all too. You don't remember any of this? No faint little...glimmers of the past or anything?"

An eyebrow rose but he tucked it back down into behaving. It was hard, to keep a serious tone when all he wanted to do was burst into laughter.

Hermes didn't really see the smirk, if only because he was looking forward as he walked, since the last thing he wanted was to trip while carrying the creature now cradled absurdly in his arms. Faceplanting onto the concrete was not a priority, not when he was still learning about his past life.

"I don't remember, no," he said with a frown, trying to think harder, in case he was missing something. "Surely there must be a way to acquire one's past life memories back, I could learn all that I have forgotten."

Hermes turned down a side street, still frowning.

"It is...refreshing, I suppose, to have been considered that important at one time. I wonder if that means it will carry over to this life."

"You're still young, I wouldn't worry about it." His tail flicked and he let out a slow yawn. "In time, it will all come back to you."

The Guardian really hoped that wherever this man was taking him would have food available. His stomach growled in agreement.

"I wouldn't doubt it will carry on - if you allow it to. I imagine all of the other senshi will recall your role and try to tear you down for it. Petty things, thinking themselves a peer to you, of all senshi."

Bob had a feeling that if any senshi were to stumble across this egomaniac, they'd be running for the hills long before enduring the kind of pompous suffering it took to hang around this sort of fellow.

Young to Hermes meant a child, and since he was twenty, it seemed hardly appropriate. But he wouldn't argue, because he was interested in learning more, and if that meant catering to this beast of a cat, then...well, he supposed he should be able to do that.

Maybe. With some effort.

Hermes was still frowning. "So...what you're saying is - don't listen to them? Do any of the other senshi have this same sort of...background that you are telling me that I have? I suppose there must be more of the gods, are there not? Hermes was just one of many."

Not that that was a bad thing. Hermes rounded a corner and went down a side street that had a row of small apartments lining each side.

Eyes gazed up at the apartment buildings, lazily watching to see if there were any cute lady cats lounging by the windowsill. Rows and rows of windows greeted him, but none of them possessed a fluffy cutie for him to ogle at. Ah, well.

"Sure, if you can find those special few." His tail flew up, carelessly thwacking the senshi softly in his chest. "But most of them are just lowlifes on the bottom of the totem pole, grasping for a chance at glory and fame. I'd be careful if I were you - there's lots of people out there who would be happy to mislead someone like you."

He snickered, quickly converting the noise into a cat-like sneeze.

"So, uh. You live around here, Herms?"

He really ought to find the few that Bob was speaking of. Hermes cast an irritated look down at the creature, lifting the hand that wasn't currently holding the cat and brushing away the fluff of a tail that had caught him in the chest. He did not appreciate being used as a toy, after all.

"Mislead?" Hermes repeated. "You mean to say that they'll try to speak to me as though I am not what I am?"

Herms made him scowl, brows drawing together.

"I do not live around here, no, but I have an apartment in which to store my things sometimes. A spare, if you will. There's a TV in it you can use."
