Getting no response, Splatter quickly grew uncomfortable sharing the mountain with an unidentified companion. Cautiously, she sidled down it's side again, stopping towards the base of the mountain.

Her ears shot to alert as another wolf howled, and she perked, listening to the cray for help. She glanced around and found a rock to tuck her kill behind, before howling her impending arrival. Brute or not, he would have to accept her help, if he was calling for it.

She arrived as quickly as she could and mincing no time. She pushed her jowels forward and grabbed up a chunk of his gruff after digging in the mucky water, fighting to pull the brute from it. Her playful nature didn't leave her quite as much strength as might have been useful for the situation, but, if nothing else, she had her paws buried in the thick mud on the bank and a steady bounding board for the alpha to pull himself out of the water with.

It seemed that her call would not go unanswered. Like the angel of death he appeared before her, his bat-like wings a beacon of hope for her. She was no fool in this situation, she was indeed afraid for her life. The rushing waters would be her tomb if she remained where she was and the thought didn't sit well with her. Her talons gripped the slick, jagged bark of the trunk and ears perked forward instantly as he spoke. She realized then she had been fighting the sway of the tree and allowed herself to move with it and found herself using much less effort to remain attached to it. It had been a long time since she had set eyes upon him but now was not the time for memories, it was a time for action.

She watched his movements and listened to his words and was glad she hadn't been there that long. Her muscles burned but they weren't past the point she could no longer use them, and that fact alone gave her some hope that she would be able to make the climb without too much assistance. Glancing at the route she was going to have to take to get to safety she realized that without him, she'd likely die here. She could see the points he had mentioned but would focus on all that when she got to them. First she had to make this first jump. His weight coming off of the tree made it bend and sway in a manner that would force her in a forward motion and she so she leaped.

Her back feet almost slipped off the slick surface but her front claws dug in and thus their journey began. She used him where she had to and was grateful that he had come to her aid. She still felt foolish for having ended up in such a situation to begin with, but there was no reason for her to concern herself with it now. It truly wasn't an easy task, helping her get to where she needed. She knew it had to be even harder on him. She'd have to make it up to him later, she told herself. However, the issue arose as they hit the top, the leap was a great distance but she gave it her best go and clung onto it her hindquarters fighting to push her up the rest of the way. She felt him shoving her then and she rose over the top and flopped onto the ground and a shadow consumed her as he leaped over her and thudded to the ground and laid there. The two needed to catch their breath, he more than she. "Thank you." She said glancing over at him as she finally had the breath to speak.

She rose up into a seated position and listened as he called out to the rest. As she watched him she realized how much he had given to help her escape the flood. "Dreznir Are you okay?" She asked as she stood then and moved to his side as he seemed to be loosing consciousness. She would not leave his side not until he could leave with her. He had saved her not only once, but twice now and that was a debt she could never repay. Well, not never. She could serve at his side. That she could do. She would watch over her Dark Angel until he came back to the light.

-------ZAICE--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Beta of the Riftclaw Pack

Distantly, dreamlike, he heard a howl. He knew that howl. It drove every pain in his body to protest as he lifted his head to try to hear where it was coming from. But the moment he lifted his head, Zaice was overwhelmed by the pain that raced through his body. Perhaps the guardian yelped as well in his state, though he was having difficulty remembering exactly what happened and where he was. It had all happened so quickly and so fast.

The waters rose.

Yes, that is what had happened. Rose? Roared, raced, reviled in ripping the Rift and those that lived in it apart. It had happened quickly. He had heard the sounds of many fall, prey and predator alike. Even some of the eagles had succumed to the torrential wave that shadowed some of their roosts. That's right..', he thought as his memories drifted back, 'I had been hunting.' Eagles, though not easy to catch, were delicious. And their eggs filled with nutrients in this harsh and unforgiving land.

He had found a nest and knew he would need the energy to take down the adults when they would return to find their unhatched fledgelings just yolking about. He had climbed a bit higher than the nest, nestled into a crook of the canyon wall within leaping distance to land on the back of the bird. And this particular nest had been one of the ones that weren't wedged into the wall of the canyon. It had all gone according to plan. One had landed and sang to its mate. The mate had circled away to find the foul being and peck it a few times. It was then that Zaice had leaped, landing on the back of the lamenting parent, and had been ripping the feathers off to feast on birdflesh. That was when the world rumbled.

That was when the wave of water hit the cayon of the Rift. He stirred and grunted as he got up, stumbling a few times. Yes, he was still soaked with the water that had tried to drown him in its haste. Zaice let out a hacking cough as he limped to the edge of wherever he was to look down. Or, he would have had there not been a tree trunk lodged in the opening with splashes of light and water from the still raging waves.

Zaice said nothing as he stared at this. This was something... Easily fixed if he had all the strength for it. He had swam to this alcove, this haven, as best he could. He had struggled on the uprooted trees, been bashed against the walls, and found himself here. He glared at the log, backed up and slammed his shoulder into it again...and again...and again...

His curses became louder, his rage boiled. He would not die in a cage caused by water! He would not die here. The voices of the howl...they called to him. He had a Duty. He had to Protect. He had to keep His safe.

Zaice put his frustration, his anger, and his pain into the howl. It was strong, not befitting a howl from someone of his rank, but he didn't care. His pack could be dead! They could be hurt! And here he was trapped behind a dam log. The Omega granted them the skill to hunt Eagles! And here he was stuck in a cave. Infuriated even more, his claws dug at the rocks around the log before he rammed himself once more into the offending thing. Light blinded him, but he was free. He nearly fell down back into the tumbling and churning waters. But Zaice managed to keep his footing. Not bad for someone without wings.

Defiantly he glared out at the destruction. It took him a moment to know where he was. The bright colored varg snarled and snapped his jaws in frustration. He was stuck on a high canyon wall. The waters had rose quite high. A path... He had to find a path or be stuck hopping from uncertain paw-hold to another. There was little choice.

A voice rose in his mind. 'Dreznir...' Zaice's head snapped around towards where he could sense the echo coming from. 'Khezid!?'. Anxiety rose, but still... An ear moved to the direction of the mountain of dread. It would be safer than waiting for this hole to collapse. How far was he? Zaice couldn't begin to guess that. He had to get to Dreznir... And hoped Nekros would get to the prideful idiot first. Then his mind drifted away... Kalliope...the others... Khezid could wait! He had to find the others.

Without much thought, Zaice lept from his ledge, ignoring the pain of his banged up body. He slipped here and there, scrambled for holds, but there was not much thought to them. He muttered curses as he rock-hopped along the water filled gorge, getting more annoyed every moment. A flat rock, steady rock, one that didn't look like it was going to rush away was ahead of him. He scrambled on to it, shook out the water from his fur and let out a steady howl. He called out a few times...and waited to hear if any answers came. Familiar voices or not, Zaice would try to help them...it was Dreznir's wishes after all. That wouldn't excuse the idiot from the thumping that would come after this. You cannot trust a strange varg. But...

... Their pack was in danger.

Kalliope's ear twitched at the bark from the other wolf. Her heart stilled and she paused, not even breathing as she tried to decide what to do. She could call out, let them know she was still here, and that they could come up. But she just wasn't certain. What if they held malice? And didn't want to share her little nook with her. Would it be better to just let to wolf think she'd moved on?

She took too long thinking, however, as she peered over the edge and saw the speckled wolf moving on, just as her alpha's voice pierce her head with his command to help if needed, and to make her way to Mount Khezid. She shuddered out a gasp and squeezed her eyes shut, already remembering the last time she was there, and the pack had been trapped in the cave for way too long.

Heart thudding she knew she had to answer. It was the only option to her right now. Obey and get to safety. Help others. She could do that. Maybe. She let out a sigh before gathering her breath and lifting her muzzle to the sky, letting out a low mournful howl. Yes I'm here. I'm alive. I'm well and I will help! She cried out. She let her voice trail off so she could hear the others, see if there was anyone she could go to, when another familiar howl joined the fray. Zaice.

She lifted her muzzle again, calling out, hoping he would hear her voice. Alone she didn't think she could do much. With her packmate, with the guardian... well she might end up just in the way but still , she could attempt to help.

Kalliope's ears twitched in the direction Zaice's howl was coming from, and began heading in that direction. She paused only for a fraction of a second at the edge of her little mountain before jumping across to another rocky outcropping, front paws catching the rock, back dragging in the water, but she quickly gathered herself onto the rock and continued on her way, slipping until she got to her packmate.

Nekros had been searching for packmates.. other vileclaws.. anyone. His glowing red eyes taking in the debris and water. Moving to fly lower it is then that he hears his alpha's voice. Ears prickling he listens to the tone.. to the words. Go to the mountain where they encountered that danger before.. Yet is he to leave his alpha behind? No.. He simply cannot. He hears other howls.. some familiar.. some not.. Yet... would his alpha be mad if he disobeyed? He probably would.. He veers to the side as he goes towards the mountain.. Though lowers to one of the smaller ones that is still above ground.

He lifts his muzzle and lets out a strong howl. Letting his pack know he is alive. He turns his focus to where he had heard his alpha. The others voice had a tone he didn't like.. it made him uncomfortable. "Dreznir. You b*****d.. You better stay alive. Hang on." He lets out another strong howl before moving to take flight again. He could offer aide.. Yet he has a sense of loyalty to his pack and to his alpha.. and sometimes... friendships do get in the way.. As he moves towards the sound he spots two familiar shapes.. Zaice.. Kalliope. He moves lower to where he can be heard.

"Are you two alright?! Are you hurt?!" He circles around. His wings aching with the strength of the wind but he pushes it aside. He barely waits for an answer after taking a glance at them both."I need to find Dreznir! His voice sounded like he needs help. Call for me if you need my help.." He turns and moves to fly against the wind towards where he heard Dreznir's voice. Powerful wings moving and beating against the air. Muscles bunching and releasing.

He lets out another howl. " DREZNIR! I'm on my way. Hold on you stubborn wolf!" It takes some time to get to where they are. He barely saw them at first. It was by chance that he saw them. He makes his way towards them and lands not far. His gaze on the other wolf.. This female isn't a riftclaw... He moves forward." My alpha.. Dreznir.. So help me... If you freaking die I will make sure to make your afterlife hell.. I didn't work so hard to help heal those wings for you to just go now." He knows Dreznir will probably say something later to him. But he can't help it.. He gets grouchy when those he cares about get hurt.. or are freaking unconscious! It's how he shows his fondness.

"Move aside wolf... I can't fully check for injuries when you are so close." He steps forward and moves to start checking over Dreznir. Nudging his wings to flex them to check them over too. He takes note on where the blood was coming from. He opens his satchel and finds the plant he is looking for. Then starts to chew til it is chunky.. Then moves to put it over the wounds where the blood is coming from. Making sure to compact it. "I swear Dreznir.. You keep doing this and I will have to have very stern words with you about the upkeep of those wings of yours and taking care of your health." He grumbles as he works but he makes haste to do the job right but in a timely manner. He pulls out some smelling salts and puts it under Dreznir's nose. " Better wake up. I don't know how much longer this area would be safe." More muttering to himself then at anyone. His mind focused on his task. He will deal with any introductions and the other later.

Alte - Old b*****d of the Ocean
╚════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Following the waters further inland, there was almost to much food, to much hunt that was sacrificed to the waters dark pull. He could understand the enchantment that would come from being swallowed whole by the fierce waters, barred in with it's liquify teeth. He himself was not aware of why he had been given a chance to rise once more, far to many moons since; exile … isolation. Glowing golden eyes peered up from the water, snort of bubbles and a grin.

Sweeping his tail through the water, Alte pushed himself up closer to it's surface fins jutting up from the waters first before his head followed after. Looking at the ones still breathing at a distance, or trying to. Shakes his head, having been underwater for majority of howls, but the flashes and a place they were to go.. he should've just stayed out in the ocean.

A lot of those seemed to have connections of some kind to others, so it was in a way fun to watch how they handle the water.

(best I got I'm sorry, he's in range of whoever wants to notice him or well his fins.)

Derya heard another howl and he hoped it was in response to the howl that he did a few moments ago. He was starting to feel tired already from hanging onto the rock that he got smashed into. The water seemed like it was slowing down but he didn't want to take any chances of letting go of the rock. He was sure he would die if he did that.

All of a sudden he felt teeth digging into his ruff of his neck and he instinctively started to thrash a bit until he felt his body moving from the rock and towards the safety of land. He went a little limp and let the other wolf drag him onto dry land. As soon as they were on dry land, he planted his paws on the ground and tried to shake off the other wolf off of him. "I'm fine now," he grumbled to his rescuer. After a few moments he pinned his ears back against his skull, realizing how harsh his words were. "Thanks," he said in a slightly sheepish tone of voice.

Splatter let him loose as soon as he started struggling about it. He had his own pull, at that point, he wasn't being tugged by the water. She hardly noticed his tone, as she worked to pull her paws out of the thick mud and shake them off. It wasn't so much a 'prissy' response as it was not wanting mud between her toes.

She shook her own fur, giving a quiet nod to Derya and turning her ears skyward. She'd not really been paying attention tot he Howl, until now, a little... preoccupied, at the time. When her eyes found Derya again, they hung on some obvious... Differences... between him and other wolves. "Sure. Well, can't be playing games if there's noone wants to play 'em, I guess. Welcome back to land."

Her eyes drifted over the water, and that menacing fin, too. The proximity to the wolf's head in front of it baffled her. "Hey! Get out of the water, it's not safe!" she growled out, not realizing wolf and fish were one, just yet.

Gajeel paised when he heard the echoing howls, there were many wolves here, one of which was a pushy alpha in great distress, he shrugged off the pull but listened respectfully to the words.

"Mmm...Mt. Khezid." He sneezed and howled the howl of an alpha, thry needn't know that he had no pack to call upon out there in the great open.

After the notes of his call faded from the echoes he caught a flash of movement by the shore and pivoted, changing his direction to head toward the wolves he could see in the distance by the shore. The dangerous unpredictable shore. He got close to them then froze, he hadn't seen so many wolves in one place for a long long time, it was a bit of a shock.

"Huh hmm, sorry folks haven't used my voice in a while but I don't think it too wise to hang out so close to the waters right now." His eyes slid over the shark wolf than focused on him. What the heck? "Or perhaps you sir will be just fine."

Fins..fins were a new thing, cool when one thought about it.

×x T U R Q U O I S Ex×xx eyes blinked open, squinting in the harsh light of midday, his nostrils stinging uncomfortably. The Night Angel let out a low growl in the back of his throat, rolling off of his wing. Guess I collapsed in a rather...uncomfortable way. Something had awakened him, and as he blinked the blurriness of the world into focus, he noted Nekros hovering over him, watching him expectantly. His wounds felt tight, and as he glanced down at his flank, saw they were packed with one of Nekros' poultices or pastes. His gaze flicked to the winged Beta, and Drez let out a barely-perceptible sigh of relief. Thank the Omega you're alright, my friend.

The Alpha levered himself up into a sitting position, resting on his haunches and lifting a paw to straighten the mask that covered his face. It took him a moment to notice that Daiyu was still with him , looking over Nekros' shoulder at him worriedly. Why didn't she run off, seek safety? He flicked a glance at the steadily-rising waters of the gorge they had made it out of. Another hour, and they would've overflowed the sides. Don't tell me the little pup thinks she owes me something? Regardless of Nekros' presence, Drez needed to let the remainder of Riftclaw know that he was alright, and so lifted his head and howled, long and strong into the skies. :: Find one-another, and Nekros and I will come to you! :: It was all he had the mental strength for; he could not Reverberate anything more, but the Night Angel found solace that at least they would know he was coming.

Dreznir gave himself a good shake, dislodging a plume of fur and dust from his coat. He eyed Nekros, eerily-glowing eyes unreadable. "I heard two of Riftclaw call out before I passed out," he said, standing and extending his wings to their full span to ensure they hadn't been damaged or strained. "Did you pass them on your way here, Nekros? Are Zaice and Kal alright?" Satisfied that his wings were well-functioning, he snapped them closed and turned his head towards the looming silhouette of Mount Khezid in the distance. "We must make for Khezid, my friends. Something far worse than the Great Flood is coming, I can feel it in the very marrow of my bones." He flicked an ear and began padding forward, hearing the soft footfalls of Daiyu and Nekros as he moved off. "Ah, Daiyu, this is Nekros. Nekros, Daiyu. Nek is Riftclaw's Healer, and despite his absolutely incessant admonishments and nattering, he's a damned good one."

The Alpha grinned, teeth glinting under the shadow of his mask. "Nekros, Daiyu is a Solitary I aided when she was just a starving, sad-looking little Pup. She's grown since then, obviously, but she's a sharp mind and is able to hold her own. So you two play nice.. We'll be traveling to Khezid together, and no doubt will pick up others along the way." Dreznir tipped his head up and eyed the channels of wind in the skies. They've changed from the cool waters below; doubtless flying will be a bit more of a challenge. And though Dreznir was never one to back down, he decided Nekros was right and should rest his wings for at least a couple hours. "If we come across any who need our aid, despite our condition, we shall stop to help them." The Night Angel's words were spoken as a command, letting his two companions know that he would be taking the lead. "As soon as I am able, I will take to the skies and scout ahead, but for now, Nekros, I need you to do so. If you find any stragglers, Solitaries, or any who are in dire need of assistance, let out a howl and Daiyu and I will come."

Dreznir slowed his movement and stopped, gripping the Beta's flowing mane in his long teeth, halting the Healer before he leaped into the air. When Nekros paused to turn to him, the Alpha let his hair go, meeting the Healer's glowing red eyes with his own slitted gaze. "Under no circumstances are you to render aid if it poses a danger to you until I arrive. You may Heal others, offer them herbs and poultices and whatever else you have, but wait until I come if there's even a fraction of a chance that you could be injured. Understood?" Dreznir waited until he got a verbal confirmation from his Healer before allowing Nekros to leap skyward. The Alpha turned to Daiyu when the beating of the Beta's wings had faded, his tone solemn but determined. "By my count, it should take us three days to get to Khezid. Even though Nek and I can fly, we'll go at the pace of those on the ground. We will first go to find the rest of my Pack, but along the way, we cannot leave any Vileclaw we find behind. Let us go."

Derya glanced over at who the female wolf was yelling at and saw the fin that followed behind the wolf. Immediately, he took a defensive position in front of the female wolf and barred his fangs at the unknown wolf. He didn't really know her but it was his duty to protect any females from harm, whether it be from a ocean creature or another wolf. Another Alpha came out of nowhere and informed them that it wasn't a good ide ato hang out too close to the waters. Derya bristled his fur a bit but kept his temper in check. "I know. I was just in that water," he said in a bland tone of voice.

He listened to the other Alpha as he talked to the other wolf in the water and realized that the fin belonged to the wolf. He growled a bit under his breath before he turned his anger out on the finned wolf in the water. "You, there. Come with me to higher grounds. It isn't safe for you to be there."

Lips curled back as the other winged wolf drew near and but it was apparent to her that he was one of Dreznir's packmates. Regardless she didn't approve of the way he spoke to her and let him know that it was apparent but moved aside as it seemed he was a healer. Listening to him as he spoke to the fallen Alpha she realized this wasn't the first time Dreznir had injured himself, and it most likely wouldn't be the last either. Finally her savior was awakening and she was pleased to see he was otherwise unharmed, beyond the exhaustion he had suffered. She remained silent as he spoke to the other winged wolf who seemed to be named Nekros.

She agreed that they should continue on their way and she turned and looked at the healer as Dez introduced them to one another. "It's good to see someone capable is around to take care of making sure 'This one' doesn't kill himself." She said thinking of quite the pair the two of them made. It seemed fitting that the other winged wolf was a healer, from what she could tell so far was that Drez would push himself beyond all possible limits and nearly kill himself in the process. Omega knows that he needs someone around to fix him up. She wasn't the best at healing, though she knew a thing or two, but she was a damn fine fighter.

She followed slightly to the left of Dreznir and her ears perked and twisted as she listened for the sounds of any others nearby. She knew she needed to find herself a pack sooner or later to join, or start one of her own but thus far she hadn't really run into anyone she would consider worthy of being packmates with. Though she was tempted to see if Drez would take her into his ranks. It could be discussed another time of course so she wasn't really going to worry about it for now. Her tail flicked behind her as she scented the air for anyone who may be nearby as they traveled. Every now and again she caught the scent of someone but most often than most it didn't belong to someone who was alive. Her attention turned to Drez and Nekros as the Alpha told him to fly onward and help others the best of his ability.

Once he was gone her attention turned to Dreznir as he spoke to her and she gave him a nod of her head. "It is likely that not many will be wanting my help at first since I am not pack, but I will help them regardless of what they feel. Pack or not an Alphas job is to ensure the survival of their brothers and sisters in such times. I will let you know right now though, if any of them try to get one up on me by any means I'll tear out their throats." She said to him. She was aware that a lone female could be seen as easy prey to certain males and even females, but she was not easily beaten and she would not tolerate any threats against her stature.

Snorts atop the waters surface making a minor ripple a tiny cresting with his breath, several had spotted him. One even seemed to shout in his direction to get out of the water or that it wasn't dangerous. Flicks water off his ears and tiredly and almost in a bored manner.. looked back at his own fin which swayed slowly in the water. There was nothing dangerous in the waters that he could sense.. he himself was probably the most dangerous thing to any of them if they survived the waters that is. After awhile he tiredly turned back to watch hearing a new voice speak up in .. his vague direction or what he could assume was directed at him. Submerging under the water to avoid anymore detection he would wait a bit before once more resurfacing, yawning around the water it seems their detection of him waned even a small bit before he lazily swam about. Seems like they were talking about taking to higher ground and probably for the best for them, he much rather stick to the waters if he could get away with it.

Pretty much waiting for them to just leave him be, sinking down in the water some to rest abit before he would travel up waters again.

(Bit of a different route then what's going on with the side with everyone else o uoll)

-------ZAICE--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Beta of the Riftclaw Pack

Neon green eyes seemed to glow out as he peered into the chaos and destruction. Ears turned this way and that as he, from his rather snazzy rock, looked about for any survivors that heard his howl. Surely someone would come...he didn't want to go out into the chaos to find their drownd corpses.
A familiar shape and coloration approached. Zaice froze for a moment, giving this wolf his full attention. Kalliope. Releif that she was safe was clear from his body language. He gave her a headbutt, lightly since he didn't know how badly her injuries could be. He also had just watched her almost slip back into the water. "Thank the Omega you're okay. Are you hurt? Can you travel? Do you need to rest? Did any strange Varg try to --"

He was cut short when another familiar voice yelled over the roar ( though dulling roar at this point) of the water. Zaice growled, his hackles rose, and he pinpointed the location of the voice. Overhead, how annoying. He halfheartedly glared at the flying Shaman, barked a quick, "Bash his arrogant skull in for me!" Zaice was relieved that another one was okay. But it was true, they had to make it to Khezid.

More gently, he took a look at the path ahead and at Kalliope's condition quickly. "We'll be okay. We'll be just fine. I won't let anything happen to you. " An affectionate nuzzle was given to the dark wolf, and Zaice tried to look reassuring. Though it was hard when he felt every muscle ache and probably looked like a wet furry bright colored ... stick thing... "Are you hurt?

Splatter stuck close to Derya and Gajeel, glancing back at the sharkwolf with a semisocial curiousity in her eyes, her ears tilted to display that curiousity openly. Her gaze trained from one aquatic to the other, off and on, as she pondered. "I can't say I've ever really seen wolves that... looked like fish." She muttered, curious what Derya's fin felt like, and how much power could be put behind Alte's fin.

Somehow, she didn't imagine either of these wolves would make easy prey for anyone, land or water regardless. Her gaze paused on Derya, and she wondered briefly why he'd had so much trouble in the water to begin with. Her thoughts came to the conclusion he was primarily a land-wolf, and the fin just helped him steer, or possibly that the damage that sail-device had taken made it more difficult to navigate with it. Alte, while in rough condition all around, seemed to have his tail and fins... mostly in tact. She figured that must make for more control and better steering, then.
