George just crept along her skin. There was still no response. ... and yet ... They swarmed from the rooms they had disappeared into and they were on her before she could lift herself up and move. All of them, the small spiders crawling over her and lifting and pushing and taking her with them down the hole. It was sensory overload as they touched her. Pain and fear and hopelessness and longing and hope and -

She did not tumble head over feet as they carried her. They were almost gentle. Still the feelings remained and they did not let her go. If anything, it only got worse. She was suddenly the patient that was dying. The very first one she had seen the spiders on. The pain was too much, it was overwhelming. It hurt and hurt and hurt and there was no one there until suddenly there was.
Autumn was a bright spot when she visited but it was still nothing compared to the pain the woman silently dealt with. Her family was gone, long before her, and she was alone and dying and-

She sobbed. Horrible, painful sobs that ripped from her throat unabashedly as the spiders carried her. She was here, Autumn could feel herself here with the spiders, but she was so alone. She'd been alone for so, so long, and she was scared to die. They said it got easier with age, but it didn't. She didn't want to go like this.
"Stop," Autumn howled in pain, tears streaming down her face. "Stop, please. I'm sorry!!!"

It was a warm sensation behind her ear. Georg, perhaps. ... but it chased away the pain and the loneliness and the bitter ache of age. Soon, the warmth said, soon it will be over. They left her, one by one, until Autumn was cowering and curled up at the bottom. A tunnel loomed before her, webbing and flowers intermixed along with crystals that glowed faintly.

Just as quick as she'd been overwhelmed, it was gone. Autumn hiccuped, trying to get her sobbing under control as she stood up. The tears were still coming, hot on her face, and even though the horror was gone, Autumn still felt it in her chest. She wiped at her eyes, trying to force herself to stop crying as she walked.
'I hate you," Rosalinde added helpfully, popping up from her messenger bag. 'I hate you and I am never coming with you on one of these horrendous adventures again.'
"I know," Autumn assured the cat softly, petting her head as she did. She walked along the great tunnel, looking at the crystals and flowers that lined the walls.
Beautiful. Beautiful and sad.

There was the faint drip of water in the distance, an echo of it as she continued down the tunnel. The tiny spiders were all along the walls; coming and going. She would know some of these flowers, some of which she had worked with to create salves. Eventually the tunnel would force her to her knees, to crawl and go forward. Should she turn back, her path would be blocked with webbing.

Oh jesus she hated small spaces. And yet... this was the way forward. Autumn mentally prayed to Jesus (I know we haven't been close man, but just have my back this time, dropped to her knees, and crawled. Onward, ever onward.

As she crawled forward the webbing got thicker and thicker and soon she was having to push through it. Hard. The longer she lingered, the more she was in it, she would find herself overwhelmed again. Lenore this time. Lenore who's body was crumbling. Hope burned brightly in her but her body was giving out. These treatments can kill you, the doctors said, but she did not care.
She would not go without a fight but her body ...
Her body was not as willing as her mind.

Not again, not again! Autumn pushed, HARD, refusing to be caught up in the overwhelming emotions. She was not herself, she was Lenore- dying and afraid and at least she wasn't alone. She had her family this time. But she was so tired, and so weak...
No. Not this time. Autumn snarled and SHOVED against the webbing, forcing her way through. She was NOT getting caught in this again!

The moment she pushed free, the webbing breaking from her body, Autumn was in massive cavern. Webbing was draped everywhere, vines intermingled and the soft glow of the crystals casting an eerie glow upon everything. Yet beside her being free, beside Autumn being free of Lenore's feelings, she would notice that her bag was gone along with Rosalinde.

It was beautiful. For all of her fighting, Autumn was in awe. She smiled, breathless, as she looked around the crystal cavern, taking it all in. Well and truly, it was a sight to behold. Once more she reached down to pat Rosalinde, ********. ********. ROSALINDE?!" She screeched, looking down in a panic. Nononononono where was she...!?
"ROSALINDE?! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

It came as a whisper. She is safe, it spoke softly, but this place is not meant for her.

"You- you won't hurt her?" Autumn choked, biting her lip. She didn't know whether she COULD trust the voice... but what choice did she have? It wasn't in her power to question this. All she would have to do was accept it, go with it for now. Autumn closed her eyes.
"What is it meant for? ...Why am I here?"

The flower child is no longer here in this place, the voice reverberated with the drip of water that was now even more noticeable. You will find her back where you truly belong. There was platform in the center of the cavern, something crumpled upon it and not moving. You are here for the end, it whispered.
