As Ai pulled away a small, truly pleased smile began to grow. It wasn't a full blossom by any means, but it held more genuine emotion than Ai had yet to show on Yael. The hand that touched her cheek further cemented that petite smile on her face.
"I find you very attractive as well, Akacia. I think that knowing you here, in Zinris, is the one truly positive event to come from this experience. Had we never come I wouldn't have been able to meet you, and that, to me, would have been a tragedy."
She offered her hand to the other female, palm up and inviting. There was a slight awkwardness to Ai now that hadn't been there before; an open vulnerability that as much unnerved her as it did entice. "Let's continue, shall we? I'm eager to see this special hunting ground of yours."

Well. 'The one truly positive event...' That about summed it up. Ai was the only reason Aka lingered in Yael at all, since Akacia was certain her destiny lay elsewhere. Though she had no idea how to go about claiming the things she wanted and had no hope of doing it by herself. She could bring it up to Ai here and now... 'Follow me. Let's take the world together.' But she had no idea how well-received that would be. Were they that close, yet? If her companion had so little excitement going on here, it surely wouldn't be taken poorly.
But the other woman looked decidedly more pleased than usual, and Akacia herself felt in a fairly positive mood. It probably wasn't worth it, to risk hearing something she didn't want to hear. Instead, she nodded, and slipped her hand into Ai's.
"It's hardly special or mine," Aka informed the other woman as she moved forward once more, tugging Ai along with her at a quickened pace. "But I suppose it can be. It isn't as if it's the norm for our sisters to travel so far from camp and into the murk. And I've certainly never been out here with anyone else."

Ai followed along as best she could, moving at a faster pace just to keep up with Aka. It wasn't as if it was a true struggle; just a jauntier move than what she was used to. Although Ai may have been stouter than most, she was also shorter, and more compact. Smaller legs didn't usually couple well with hurried walks.
"Alright then, how much longer until we get there?" She wasn't impatient, just anxious. Her tone may have even held the slightest bit of humor in it as well. Whatever place Akacia wanted her to see much have been special, whether the other wanted to admit it or not, for her to even come out here at all.

"Soon enough," Akacia hummed. She didn't release Ai's hand for the duration of their trek. It was some distance away, though nothing terribly unmanageable. The dark, sopping ground interspersed with rocks, pitfalls, tangled roots, and other foliage made it a path few would trek willingly and without reason. It likely would've been easier to climb through the trees.
Regardless, they were still in one piece when they arrived, though certainly far from clean for their struggles. "I told you," Akacia said as she unstuck her foot from the mud and plodded forward until the ooze lapped at her calves. "It is not special or mine, but it is quiet and a good place to practice clipping the wings of insects with your arrows." Her gaze scraped over the murky water, out the the far bank. "And only game big enough to keep from getting stuck come out this far." She hesitated then, briefly glancing back to the other woman.
"Though I suppose it would be a pain to drag that much meat back to camp..." She waved the thought away with a flick of her wrist. "Come. There is a perch in that tree," she pointed to a large, drooping green behemoth of a plant, "Where we can both sit."

Ai decided to let the topic die. Whatever sentimentality she placed on certain areas it was obvious that Akacia either didn't want to or simply couldn't do the same.
Walking through the muck felt as if it were a living entity. Something that breathed around her legs, unconsciously sucking her down to be devoured. She was not pleased to have so much swamp gunk on her person, but was very thankful she hadn't yet been swallowed up. What ooze managed to reach Akacia's calves came up to the bottom of Ai's knees, making it damn near impossible for her to walk. Still, she plodded forward with a biting determination.
At least they were guaranteed not to be interrupted out here.
"Good," Ai grunted, dipped both hands underneath her thigh to pull it free from the muck. Her toes were not free for long, however; with each new step they sunk further into the toxic filth. It made her wonder how Elzira had ever taken root at all. Where would she find soil worth utilizing in all of...this?

She should not have been amused. Watching Ai struggle through trials Akacia had invited her into didn't seem as though it should merit that much entertainment. But it did, and Aka kept her pace even with her comrade's as they waded. "I'd offer to carry you," Aka invited as she moved toward her designated tree. "But the weight of us both would only drag us down faster." Besides, there was something to said for a woman that would trudge through filth at her beck and call.
Once at the base of her perch, Akacia gestured upward, into the giant, looming tree. "After you." And really, even if the journey wasn't quite as charming as Ai expected, the destination surely wasn't half bad.
This monstrous plant was nothing like Aisha, as it was completely dwarfed in size by comparison, and the colors were all off, and the landscape, and the smells- But considering where they were, it wasn't the worst place to be. Giant leafy branches and a whole world beneath you. Aka attempted a smile as she waiting for Ai to ascend. And once she had, Akacia followed close behind, doing her best not to stare too fixatedly at the woman ahead of her.
She really had such lovely thighs.
But enough of that. She plopped onto her designated branch and surveyed her kingdom. All quiet for now. The prey must be hiding. Instead, she turned her focus back to her companion. "If you'd like, I can help you wipe some of that mud off."

She pulled herself up by first grasping onto a ledge of living crystal that clung to the tree like moss. At first it was difficult to disengage herself from the muck, but once her legs came free with a 'pop' the climb itself was easy.
The further she climbed the more Ai found herself coming to see some sort of beauty in this place. She had always liked nature; it was peaceful, and didn't ask for much from her. Just a helping, protective hand from time to time. And once she had settled on her branch, with Aka close behind, Ai was able to really admire the view.
Staring down at the ascending alkidike's bosom surely was a grand view...
But all too soon her admiring had come to an end. "If you think you can get it off, by all means, try. I have doubts as to whether it will ever come off."

It really oughtn't have been as comical as it was. Ai herself didn't even look especially pleased, particularly by the muck, but for the first time in what felt like a long time, Akacia grinned all the same. Maybe her new companion wasn't especially impressed with her or her choice of 'dating' spots, but Aka personally thought this was pretty damn-well close to perfect.
They were alone, just the two of them and the trees. It was unlikely that anyone else would brave the murky undergrowth to disturb them, and-
Akacia hummed. "I do have a little practice in that regard," she informed her sister. "This isn't the first time I've come around this place, after all." She shifted on the branch. It was thick enough that she could comfortably sit cross-legged, facing Ai, with no concerns of tipping too far one way of the other. She unfastened the swatch of cloth around her hips, and reached to dust her fingers down the other Alkidike's thigh, to her calf, and lifted her foot up to rest in Aka's lap.
"I am sorry if it displeased you," Akacia told her as she toweled off Ai's toes with her skirt, making no special haste of the work and not being especially thorough where the mud was concerned. Instead, she dedicated more attention to pressing her thumbs into the arches of the other woman's feet, gliding her blunted nails lightly across Ai's ankles, and dusting her knuckles up the back of her leg. "But on the way back, we can stick more to the trees. It'll be cleaner that way."

There was no hiding the way that Ai's body lifted up off the branch to meet Akacia's touch. Each time one of her fingers ghosted across Ai's skin a shiver vibrated through her skin, ebbing away at the woman's irritation and filling her with a much more pleasant experience.
Even as basic as it was there was something about the moment that brought a smile to Ai's face. She was wholly unprepared for the massage; so when it came Ai gave in to a breathless, shocked moan. Thankfully the branch was large enough to support her as she squirmed, looking equally surprised by it all and alight with something else. Something much more primal.
"We needn't go back so soon...We could stay here, for a while longer, if you'd like."

For all Aka's complaints, and what seemed to be a general sense of dissatisfaction, she found that she was actually rather pleased with this particular development. Ai was an alright woman, as far as banished extremist went. They got on well enough, and why shouldn't they? Two teenage girls displaced from home and forced into a mockery of their former lifestyle, completely secluded from what they'd grown up with. They had reason to be angry and spiteful with the rest of the world. And if that occasionally meant lashing out in unhelpful ways, well.
But at least for now they could enjoy each other. The rest of their problems seemed as distant as the Elaria camp, and that was far enough away that it needn't bother her here.
What was here and now was the look in Ai's eyes and the fidgeting of her body and those things were not unappealing, even under these less-than-ideal circumstances. Akacia dipped, and dusted her lips to a mud-free portion of Ai's thigh before murmuring, "I'd like that a lot."
