Rasali had just been relaxing into the rhythm of the conversation when she heard a familiar voice. She looked up in alarm, face even, but tight. Running into each other by accident was one thing, but if one of them got made, the other would definitely be right there with them on the chopping block.

Rasali focused on chill thoughts. Glaciers. Steel. Ice cream. She raised a brow at Luxara with lips quirked to the side in a dismissive pout. "My you must be a fast study if you're inviting me again so soon after our last bout. Did you miss me?"

The saucy exchange was quickly set aside as Luxara focused on talking to Elidae. If Rasali's attention hadn't been grabbed earlier, she was fixated now. Did Luxara know her?

"...There was this greenblood..."

A pit crumbled open beneath Rasali's bloodpusher. She tried not to turn to Elidae too quickly. The word "sweetheart" used in conjunction with "Kursha" made Rasali want to puke fire. There had to be some kind of angle. This girl obviously wasn't a member of the Phoenix Initiative, but she also didn't strike Rasali as a front-runner of the royalist movement either. Hell, she was a yellowblood for goodness' sake. Either Elidae was in trouble or she was trouble. Regardless, Rasali and Luxara seemed to have stumbled upon an interesting development.

"Is that so? I suppose that explains our fated meeting, Elidae. You've got your quadrants pulling shifts at your booth too?" Rasali smiled as gently as she could muster. She was feeling a lot of things at that moment. It was almost to the point where they cancelled each other out and put her in a state of calm. If Kursha thought he could worm his way into Rasali's circle just to do what he did, well...

Two could play at that game.

At first the question completely went over her head, but after a moment the suggestion registered and had her suddenly visibly flustered. She was quick to snuff this out.

"Q-Q-Quadrants?!" Mouth agape, she gave Peikoe an incredulous look. Was that what it looked like? Or seemed like? To other trolls? She put her hands up and waved the idea off as fast as she could, looking between Peikoe and the yellowblood. "Noooo nonono! Kursha and I aren't... we're not... we're not in a quadrant. We're just- just friends!" Elidae stammered with an awkward laugh, trying to hide her embarrassment. Although heat now rose to her cheeks from the mention of it, flushing them yellow. Just because he was kind enough to offer his services didn't mean they were in any sort of romantic relationship... right?

Nictor Sabbat

It had been an eventful week and Nictor was more than a little exhausted. It had shown too much most of the time he was wandering around, but finally able to get away from the main hubbub, Nictor felt a lot better.

Sure he got a whole lot of different prizes and things for playing at different booths, but it was still stressful to be near other trolls. His nerves were shot. As much as he wasn't one for social events though, he had certainly enjoyed most of the week.

Huddling down in his stained hoodie, Nictor looked for a place for Beehemoth the come down and cuddle with him. His clothes were stained and frozen. He could use a warm hug from his lusus. Or some warm soup. Luckily, he had a few jars, though only one still on him. Bee was looking after the other. Twisting the lid off the french onion soup, Nictor took a drink enjoying the leftover warmth and looking over the souvenir shops as he looked for a place to settle in for a bit.

That would be a fast rebound, Luxara wanted to comment, but kept her mouth shut. She just watched the two trolls continue to talk, her lower face stuffed into her scarf. But now she wondered at what Kursha would be playing at, with this new girl. Even if they were just 'friends' and all. God, she could be falling into the same stupid trap.

"Ah, quadrants. That reminds me. I have somewhere else to be. But, before I let you two dolls go, I did wonder about this Kursha's scars? Rather gnarly, right? Do you know where he got them?"

Box of cupcakes under his arm, Reemus was wandering through the boardwalk on his own for the time being. Once he got everything together, he would do something nice for Voscil. Well, once he found her again. But she couldn't come with while he worked on his surprise! That wasn't how it worked!

But he was having such a good time with her, and he just wanted to make her happy, and...awww, he didn't know. He didn't know! He didn't know what to say, but maybe he could show something by giving her stuff.

Which was hard! He wanted to eat all the cupcakes, but he couldn't! But he wanted to! Gosh, he was hungry already.

Lost in thought, he nearly bumped into a smaller troll. Ah! That wouldn't be any good! He stopped right before he could crash.
"Scuse m-"

Reemus squinted through his glasses. First of all, this kid looked soaked. But there was a familiar color, familiar horns...

A need to sneeze.

"Oh, uh- uhhh." He didn't know what to do! Not around a semi-familiar face who he had met on the royalist side. But he was already calling attention to himself, and a highblood couldn't run from a lowblood! He started to fret.

Nictor Sabbat

Half zoned out and sipping soup, the bump with Reemus was more like a slam for the kid. Bouncing off the teen, Nictor stumbled back, letting out a small yelp as he backpedaled, some soup sloshing out of the jar and onto his hands. Thoughts of finding a spot to cuddle up with Bee changed to where can I hide because oh boy, it was a blueblood.

Oh wow, this blueblood was big. His hands were probably big enough to put on either side of his head, squeeze, and he'd crack like an egg. Nictor's breathing was short and uneven as he stared up at the blueblood. He clutched his mason jar of soup to his chest like a shield and shrunk into himself, going as far as to rock back just another step before his legs locked.

Maybe the horns and build were similar to someone who'd been helpful and nice to him once, but Nictor ran into a lot of trolls. A lot. So, the similarity didn't even come close to striking him, especially given that this is a blueblood and his thoughts were quickly fizzling out.

Nictor was quailing with pretty much no action on the blueblood stranger's part. The sound of buzzing up above made the little troll glance upwards to see his lusus observing the on goings faithfully, making Nictor sigh in relief. He still had bee around, so that's good.

Eye skittering down again, Nictor noticed that his hair, one of the few places unsubjected to soaking, had sent some pollen onto the blueblood's clothes.

Oh no.

"Not at all. I thought you were aware I was happy occasionally slumming it. The unrefined sort remind me what I'm so fond of with proper company. Aesthetics alone, seeing a troll such as yourself standing next to a troll such as that charming redblooded dancer I can appreciate her fine attire and manners all the more," he said, grinning slightly in what could almost be considered a flirty look. She didn't need to know that he'd found himself with an odd fondness for lowbloods. They were...oddly charming in their own, strange ways. Not that he'd ever admit it aloud....and certainly not to Keionx. "Besides, my recent more.....distasteful choice of temporary residence has lowered my standards if nothing else," he added, sighing faintly. There wasn't much lower he could go than living in a damned swamp....buuuuut he was well aware it would be foolish to return to his hive. While he wasn't a well known troll....having Tamiya interested in tearing him apart was cause for concern enough. He didn't know the highblood well, but she was just unhinged enough to make him ease away from the thought of tangling with her.

"And you?" he asked as an afterthought, "what brings you here? You tend to prefer making a spectacle--" he broke off as if suddenly realizing just how rude it sounded, "My apologies, rather you tend to enjoy the crowd and...meeting other trolls." Certainly different from a troll like him, often keeping more to himself. Though....the trolls he'd met with the rebels certainly seemed interesting to say the least.

Slumming it? "Mayhap, but be that as it may, I would expect thee to be fielding the festivities. Running a booth even, in thy disguise. Something, perhaps, involving cleaning." was it wishful thinking or mere teasing. Stars knew, some of the trolls here could do with a wash, not that she was one to talk.

"... And who is this redblood dancer... Oh." Jealousy, briefly flared, was replaced with complicated but warm feelings. Odette. "I have not dropped by her booth... How does she fare?" There was something wistful in Keionx's muffled voice. "She certainly is beautiful. I cannot thus compare, I admit it freely." The Scouts, though they were doing their own things in a more fragmented way, were still her role models.

She rolled her eyes. "Thy temporary residence hath kept thee alive, and gives thee plenty to do." she said, her smirk visible in the creases of her eyes, "So much mud everywhere, indeed. Thou hast much to clean." All right, so she was a little mischevious.

"Myself?" She raised her eyebrows. Spectacle? Really? Was she that much of a showoff?

Well... she admitted, Mayhap...

"I am taking a walk. I do this sometimes. Previously, I walked alone upon the boardwalk..." she said, a little snidely, "And now, I walk with thee... But thou hast misinterpreted me. Tis not my goal to meet other trolls. Tis my goal to enjoy myself." and to watch over the swamplings, but they seemed to have a handle on things. Even Akkira. Somehow.

Was that....an intended barb at him? Thinking that he would be offering cleaning? While he'd thought about it he'd decided quite firmly against it. "Not at all, some of us prefer a note of discretion....others seem to enjoy putting on a bit of a show at dances...if I'm not mistaken. And showing off for other bluebloods." He hadn't stayed long at the booth...but he'd seen Kei exchanging a few rather....disdainful glances with another blueblood. It was his turn to feel that pang of jealousy. Maybe he should've made his presence more....pronounced...but from rumours he heard around it wasn't the first time she'd had altercations with another troll. While he did keep to himself a fair amount....he heard whispers every now and again.

"I wouldn't know, I haven't had the pleasure of a proper introduction, though I do certainly appreciate any troll with a sense of fashion....it's terribly rare and certainly makes for a treat." Hell, his own sense of fashion had been rather compromised when he'd realized he would need a disguise. He didn't even feel normal having his hair down for a change....of course he'd still seen many trolls not NEARLY as stylish as himself, even if he'd stepped down from his usual suit.

Miache stared at Kei a moment, contemplatingly. He didn't know she actually ENJOYED having time to herself....she was far more....social. Probably why she seemed to have many more suitors than himself, yet another unintended barb it seemed. "I suppose," he said, still lost in his own inner musings, "but being with others seems to be what you enjoy." This time it was meant a little less as mocking, more observational. That was something so charming about lowbloods though....they were rather....personable, highbloods seemingly less so.

Elidae blinked at the yellowblood, who did not give out her name and simply went straight for an oddly specific conversation topic. This random troll sure insisted on talking about Kursha. Was there something she was missing here? His scars? What about his scars? Although she kept a polite smile, Elidae began to feel a tad uncomfortable with where this chat was being lead. Thinking about where he got them, memories of that night in the tunnels sprung to her thinkpan- finding him dying beside himself, having to see the wounds up close that would later heal into the blatant scar tissue on his skin. It never bothered her in the slightest and never would. They signified his survival, that he was a fighter. The term "gnarly" being tacked onto them escalated her defense.

"Well, lots of trolls have scars!" She stated simply, emphasizing the obvious. "He got them from combat, I am sure." Shrugging, her smile tightened. It was an honest answer, but was vague enough to not give her the satisfaction of an exact one. "Oh, but don't keep us from where you need to be! Maybe I can catch up with you later?"

Bloodfest was exhausting.

A young girl walked down the boardwalk towards the beach, longing to get away from the crowd and get a few minutes of peace. She'd come here willingly, she knew that, but it didn't help her anxiety any. Sure it was important to come see what activity the crown might enact here and it was important to make sure Cerpin didn't do anything reckless but... it was also important for her to take care of herself. Plopping down on a rock near the ocean, Tevini fiddled with her purple backpack as she watched the waves.

'They're right there.' The ocean meant different things to different trolls. To a lowblood like Tevini it meant seadwellers. To Tevini seadwellers meant death. Sitting here she felt fear and peace at the same time. Now she could see the stars on the surface of the water, with the moons.

'Like I could reach out and touch them.' The girl mused and childishly reached down to touch the water. Then the second meaning, or rather the first meaning of the ocean flashed in her mind and she imagined teeth-claws lunging out of the water at her! Flinching, she jumped and lost her balance. No!

Splashing into the water, she let out a small squeak of panic and struggled to not lose her (Cerpin's) backpack to the tide!

LordPocky
Tevini is kind of an unnoticeable troll so I made up something that Zariah could happen upon. Also she is wearing a disguise, just so you know what he'll be approaching!
PostPosted: Thu May 19, 2016 4:33 am

Zariah's disguise wasn't the best, but certainly passable. While his shirt with his symbol was obscured by his scarf he'd made certain to wear a different symbol...and of course any familiar faces he could duck under the heavy scarf. Though, there were times he should've done so already and hadn't.....but hindsight was 20-20.

The splashing drew his attention and he gave a short start. Wasn't she one of the other rebels? Though....posing as purple...he had thought her a lower blood colour? Albeit he'd been wrong before. Zariah hopped the barrier between the boardwalk and the water. The teen quickly scooped up the backpack before grabbing the kid's arm to help her up. At least it was just water, it wouldn't do that much damage. Though...he did cringe at the slosh of water now soaking his battered shoes. Ugh....Kei's 'heroic' antics were rubbing off on him.

"Um...a-are you okay?" he asked carefully. He cringed a little at that though, of COURSE she wasn't okay! She'd just taken a tumble in cold water and nearly lost her sack! Way to just wedge that loafer right in his squawk gaper. "Shoot...I d-don't have a towel or anything.." he mumbled, carefully trying to lead her out of the water.

"C-cold." Tevini whimpered as she was pulled from the water and into the cool winter air. She wasn't sure which was worse. Shivering immediately, she looked to the troll who'd saved her. She didn't recognize him at first, though that might have been due to her mental state still in a state of panic. Unfortunately all of her belongings had been soaked so she didn't have any way to dry off either. Biting her lip, she looked around for any possible banners she could rip down and wrap around herself but thought against it ultimately.

"Thank you for saving me. I can't swim." She bowed her head, still shivering. A fairly skinny troll from not taking the best care of herself, Tevini didn't have much body fat to insulate herself with. She needed to get somewhere to dry off or warm fast. They were at the Boardwalk so maybe she could make her way over to the shops and buy something. But at the same time, she didn't really know the area. Would he? Looking at the older troll's face, she realized he looked a little familiar but couldn't figure out why. Where had she seen him? If only Cerpin were here, he would know-

Cerpin. She remembered seeing them next to each other for a brief moment at the Cinderglow Festival! Relief flooded her. If he was a rebel, she felt more inclined to trust him, though she still didn't trust anyone completely.

"Can you help me to the shops? I'll buy a towel or something else to wear. I'll die in this." One could say she was being dramatic but it was honestly ******** freezing outside. There was snow on the ground. If she didn't hurry, there'd be ice in her veins!

"Oh of c-course!" he said, helping her over the barrier and away from the water. "Um..." he paused to think before removing his own jacket, placing it over her shoulders. "Th-that should help," he added, taking off his heavy scarf and adding it to the wrappings. He was at least dry, the cold wouldn't be so bad for him. Zariah looped the sack over his arm, holding the wet pack for the moment, if nothing else it would be one less thing to soak her to the bone.

At her admission he was a little surprised, while he wasn't a terribly strong swimmer...at the least he COULD swim. Though...it was in part out of self defense, the monsters that lurked in the water were too dangerous to be left to chance. Certainly they could easily out-swim him....but at least he wouldn't give them a stationary target. "I th-think shops are this way....um....but I'm n-not sure where we could f-find you a towel or fr-fresh clothes...." he said slowly, frowning at the thought. Maybe they would have some sort of tacky festive outfit they could put her in. She looked small enough they could put anything on her and just layer it until it fit properly. Even if the festive clothing they might find might look a little silly....it would at least be warm...and dry. Dry was the definate selling point. Zariah eyed the small troll again thoughtfully, trying to decide if she WAS the troll he'd seen before. If she were a rebel he could escort her back to the swamp if she was ready to leave...but if she wasn't.....

The more time Rasali spent around Elidae, the harder it was becoming for her to believe that she was somehow "in" on whatever Kursha was up to. The terrible stuff--not Bloodfest. To be honest, the thought of Kursha being left to run the glitzy yellowblood's booth was giving Rasali an awful time of trying not to laugh. She hoped he had his own bow.

Luxara clearly had more serious topics on the brain. She was trying to alert Elidae to Kursha's sordid past, very obviously. Rasali blanched under her thick makeup. She could sympathize, of course, but that didn't stop her from wanting to elbow Luxara in the ribs.

"Oho~ Don't tell me you're angling for him yourself now that you know he's single," It was an incredibly low blow on Rasali's part, but it would help serve to strengthen Luxara's particularly flirty cover. "Sweet Elidae has a point though. Don't let us stop you," Rasali winked her most apologetic wink. Escape while you still can!
