He hoped so as well and not because he wanted to have the higher rank or more power, at least not for the simple sake of it, the only reason he wanted it was for the sake of others- so he could help others and protect them. There was nothing selfish in his want for power, though there was how helpless and useless he did feel at times. “Hope so...wonder what will change in uniform.” He said thinking on the changes to the others uniform when he’d become a Squire.
Moving his pillow into his lap, drawing his legs up so it was pressed between his legs and chest he poked around at what he’d brought for the project. Going for the silver wire and the snips he clipped off a small amount so he could start working on what he wanted to make for Terry’s necklace. He didn’t have a specific idea, or plan, he was just going to go with whatever came to him. “Hope this gets nice...never done before.”

Terry couldn’t help but stop and imagine what might changed on Seung’s uniform once he hit Squire. Would he get one that would be better in cold weather? Would he end up with something with less covering? Would the style change at all? Just what would the other’s weapon be like? So many different possibilities and the only way to know for sure what the answer’s would be is to be patient and wait until Seung hit Squire.
He shook his head then got back to focusing on making the necklace for Seung. Terry looked over the different materials that the other had brought then got some of the silver wire after seeing the other man get some so the wire of the necklaces would match. “I’m sure it will no matter what.” He said with a smile as he started to play around with the wire to test different things with it. “And if nothing else, I think you brought enough that we can test out different things if we don’t like something.” He twisted the wire so a small bit looked like an S just to see how it would come out like.

He had brought enough wire for a good reason, figuring he might very well need a lot of it. He’d never tinkered with something like this, he had no previous reason to, he was clueless on how much bend was in this wire or what he could do with it. He’d seen things online, he had looked some things up, but he hadn’t looked up like how to make something just pictures of completed necklace pieces. They all looked nice, some more than others of course, and were intimidating honestly.
Slender fingers slowly worked the metal wire around Terry’s half of their whole, trying to make sure the stone would remain secure and not fall out and become lost. But as he made it secure he found it didn’t look so...appealing. Making a face he unwrapped it and started again and slowly as he sat there silently working for how long he didn’t know, he wasn’t looking at the clock or his cell phone, he got lost in the work as he tried to figure out how to make it nice and what to do.
In between yawns, with his frustration slowly mounting, he had to change wire lengths a few times as the wire didn’t seem like being bent, unbent, and rebent multiple times. Snips in one hand, wire in the other and the roll of wire held in place on the bed by a socked foot, the Korean native went to yawn - an action that was cut short by another sound. At some point during the evening it had started to rain, no surprise as the sky had looked like it was ready to downpour when he’d arrived earlier. Till now there had been no thunder, or lightening, however. Now there was, it was a loud window shaking clap of thunder which had startled him as he’d been yawning. “Aish!” The word slipped, a habit to use his native language rather than English made stronger by how tired he really was. Dark eyes had gone right down to the fingers holding the snips and there at the tip of his finger was blood welling up and dripping. He’d not noticed that the wire, not straight having come off the spool, had been so close to his finger and that the sharp end was right next to his finger. So when the thunder had sounded, and he hadn’t seen the flash of lightening due to closed eyes while yawning, the thunder had caused him to jump and stab his finger with the metal wire.
As the blood welled the pool at the tip of his finger dribbled and dripped and fell from his finger and down onto the stone captured within the wire that he was working with. This time it had come out nice, he was snipping more metal to add decoration if he could manage it as well as make the part the chain would go through. As the blood landed on the stone it seemed to...absorb it. The oddness didn’t end there though as the stone flashed a bright red color before returning to normal. Being that this was no normal stone, and knowing magic was real, he stared for a moment wondering if this was a good or a bad thing. Slowly he raised his dark eyes to Terry, blood still dripping from his finger, ignored at the moment, onto the stone and onto the end of the wire.
“Not normal…you see?” He asked slowly, nervousness beginning to fill him. He didn’t trust unknown magic, why should he?

Seung wasn’t the only one who kept testing and changing out the wires. The only time he had seen any jewelry cages had been on people so he was just running off what he thought might look good. He bent, rebent, and threw away some of the wire then got some new before he started to figure out an idea of what looked good and what didn’t with the stone half. Terry started over again and started to make small swirl designs coming from the bottom up, wondering if that sort of design would look nice on jewelry just as it did on his uniform.
His progress came to a halt however when there was a flash of lightning, a crash of thunder, and a yelp from the man on the bed with him. He immediately looked up to see what was wrong only for his eyes to land on the blood welling up on Seung’s finger then dripping onto the stone half. He was just as surprised as Seung when the blood was absorbed and the magic light flashed. “What in the world…?” He asked though he supposed that was the point, it wasn’t from this world. He locked eyes with Seung and frowned, getting worried about what might have happened. “Are you ok? Do you feel any differently?” Terry asked only to look down at the half in his hands with a thoughtful look after a moment. Just what did happen? Could it happen again? He glanced up at the other then purposefully nicked himself on the wire in his hands and let some blood drip on the stone half in his hands. He figured that if nothing else it would leave them both in the same boat.
Once again the blood was absorbed into the stone and a light flashed, though this time it was purple rather then red. “...Maybe it’s reacting to our magic?” He suggested after seeing the color differences then looked back to Seung.

Meeting the others gaze he shook his head. “Feel fine...nothing off.” There was literally no difference other than what he’d just seen happen. What had happened though he did not know, had no clue even, he just knew it was something not of this world. He wasn’t even sure if the word magic fit it, because what was normal for these stones? From the world they were from? “Magic…? Maybe normal for these?” He asked motioning to his stone, which was in Terry’s hand, and the half than in his own possession at the moment.
“Maybe? Color different...like ours.” Since when powered up he did wear red, at least in part, and Terry did boast purple in his uniform. “Don’t feel off?” He asked the other than, wanting to see if it was the same for Terry.

Terry was relieved to hear that Seung didn’t feel off from the magic, though he did give him a look over just in case something happened that the other didn’t notice. “It’s possible. We would have to talk to Caedus to see if he knows if it is or not.” He said thoughtfully. They might have to find the ancient man again to ask him if this was something he had heard about before, though he hadn’t made any mention when giving the halves to them in the first place.
He nodded his head in agreement when Seung mentioned the different colors, that had been what he had been thinking. “I feel fine as well. Of course that doesn’t mean something won’t happen later...” He trailed off then gave Seung yet another once over. At least the other would be staying over the night so they could keep an eye on each other.

He had been thinking the same as Terry, Caedus hadn’t said anything about them. All the man had said what they were supposed to bring, when apart and when together, and that they had failed on both accounts with him. There had been no mention of absorbing blood or flashes of light. “Can tell him about it...maybe can find something out when goes home - if does.” He honestly, from the one visit, rather liked the man and the idea of seeing him again was something which now had him excited. He would like to see him again, he was ancient and had seen and done many things. Gone to places none here had gone to and had tales to tell surely. It was all mystical and magical in a way which appealed to him in a way that his love for a bustling city, with all it’s people bright lights and food couldn’t. He loved both things even if they were on opposite ends of a spectrum - the duality of man.
Looking back at what was in his hand he jumped again when thunder rocked the window again and shook the place. The storm raging outside was intense, and bright, the sound of rain falling was loud and constant with thunder punctuating it every so often and drowning out the sound of the rain.
Sticking his injured finger into his mouth to stop the bleeding he went back to work after moments - he wanted to get this done. Grabbing a few glass beads, picking out the red ones, he started to find places to thread them into the design. The stone had flashed red - hsi color...and while the necklace was for Terry he felt the red glass beads would be best on it….fitting even.

“At the very least he would probably like to know about it anyway.” Terry said, nodding his head. Besides it wouldn’t hurt to check in on the man to see how he was doing, if he was comfortable and if he needed anything else. “I’m sure he will be able to get home sometime, he has a lot of people willing to help including us.” He soothed with a small smile. Of course there were those who were against him as well but he wasn’t going to think of that right now.
“Don’t like the thunder?” Terry asked after seeing Seung jump again at it. He scooted over so he could touch a knee to the other’s knee while grabbing a tissue to wipe the blood off his finger rather then stick it in his mouth like Seung did. When seeing the other man started back up on the necklace he went back to it himself, threading some purple beads into the swirl designs. In the front of the necklace he made sure to make one of the swirls look like a S like he had been testing before.

That the man indeed had - lots of people. “Bring food and new books..not just history.” He would bring some other books, something to enjoy rather than just gain information from. “Wonder how fast reads...learns.” He thought aloud, honestly wondering about it since they had brought a good amount of books with them for the man. Had he absorbed everything contained within the books or how much had been learned from them? Looking up from his work to look around he took note of his pillow, which had some point he’d tossed, as it lay dangling rather precariously at the head of the others bed half on and half off the bed itself.
“Don’t mind. Just surprise.” He said shrugging his shoulders as he went back to his work. A few minutes into it he glanced over to the other who was working and adding in purple beads - it was pretty. “Hungry?” He asked curious. He was tired but he hadn’t had an appetite earlier in the day and was starting to feel hungry. He could ignore it easily though, as he was busy and he was tired as well. Shifting around on the others bed he got into a position so he could watch the rain fall and the flashes of light - he actually liked watching storms. He lived in city and watching storms light up to sky above Seoul had always brought awe from him, had him sitting in the chair by the window in their living room to watch storms. He liked watching the rain fall and wet the ground below and dark the color of the sidewalk, enjoyed falling asleep to the soothing sound of rain. He used to leave his window open during storms so the cool, slightly damp, air could blow into his room and he could hear the rain better - hear the sounds of the storm. It was soothing and calming - nature’s music.
“Love storms.” He said softly after some moments of silence spent just staring out the window. He hadn’t said anything when the other had closed his window when the rain started, though he wouldn’t have minded if it was left open. He knew the other wouldn’t want the rain in. He hoped his window was open back home so his room would have the fresh, wet, clean smell of the rain and the cool evening air. With spring came rain and with the rains came new growth. It was only fitting that something which nurtured the earth, which brought life as rain did, should be so soothing.
Focusing back on the work he let himself finish while glancing up only a few times. Once he figured he had done as good as he could he went to reach for one of two silver chains he’d brought. Threading the chain through the loop at the top he offered it over to Terry. “Done...look good?”

“Agreed. I’m sure there are other subjects that he would like to read.” Terry said with a smile. At Seung’s rhetorical question he got a thoughtful look on his face for a moment then shrugged. “Something else to ask him so we can know when to bring new books to him if he wants them.” He suggested as he threaded another bead into the design. “And I’m sure he had questions of his own by now as well.”
He glanced over at the other as he mentioned it has just surprised him then gave a nod in understanding. Sometimes loud and unexpected noises just snuck up on you and made you jump where you normally wouldn’t. “I could eat. When we are done we could go down the the kitchen and get something, sounds good?” He offered with a smile. Normally Terry would have jumped at the chance to make sure Seung ate as soon as he hinted he was hungry but he could see that they both were almost done with the necklaces. He watched as the other got distracted by the storm and in turn got distracted watching him and the happy, peaceful look about him.
“When I was little, the fastest way to make me or Matt fall asleep was by playing music with storm sounds added in, or just playing the recordings of the storms themselves.” He said after a moment of watching. “If I let it then the sounds still are a lullaby.” He looked back down at the necklace he was making and twisted a bit more wire to finish it up. Once done he could see Seung had also finished and Terry followed his example of adding it to the remaining chain and offering it in return with a smile. “Looks perfect. What do you think?”

Looking up, a gentle smile in place, he nodded slowly. “Listen to it also to sleep - always have...and classical..not piano but my classical.” Classical Korean music, which was different from Japanese and Chinese. He liked music - a lot. Korean pop music or classical he enjoyed both as both had a time and a place. He wasn’t the only one, thankfully, in his family who liked music and often discussed it with family members or watched music shows. Actually most of the time he had his ipod with him, either the buds in his ears or not, he had a thing for music. His mother had on occasion questioned it and him winding up causing himself hearing issues later on in life. She just worried that he was playing it either too much or too loud - or often both. He could understand it - she was a loving mother and prone to worrying over her two children.
Going down to the kitchen after this sounded good and it seemed Terry was done also - as the other was showing him the finished product and asking his opinion. Nodding his head he leaned in to embrace the other. “Lovely.” And it was. He hoped his was as well, the other did seem to like it. Unclasping it he moved to put Terry’s necklace on for him so the other could wear it. “Only take off to sleep?” So the chain wasn’t snapped, no tangling or kinking either and it didn’t break in some other way. As much as he’d like to wear it all the time it likely wouldn’t be comfortable either, if either of them slept on their stomach ever.

“Don’t like piano music or just don’t tend to listen to it?” Terry asked while giving a smile. He liked a variety of music himself, not wanting to put any limits on what he listened to without giving something a try. Though he could say that some things he had tried and tried then said nope, no thank you, such as heavy rap and heavy metal. Those types of songs tended to get on his nerves quickly, some rap and metal were fine, just not the heavy stuff. Granted that was the American versions so he would probably be inclined to five other countries versions a try to see if they were different.
Terry smiled and hugged Seung back, giving him a soft kiss. “Glad you like it.” He said then pulled the bottom part of his hair up with one hand so Seung had an easier time putting the necklace on him. “Certainly, though maybe the shower too unless these are non rusting types of metals?” He asked with a raised eyebrow. Once Seung was done, Terry returned the favor by putting the necklace he made on his boyfriend. “Perfect.” If he meant Seung himself rather than the necklace then only the small blush on his cheeks would give that away,

“Not something grew up listening to. Classical from home is like classical for here is...or Europe…” What was the classical for that country was the more common and more popular, was prefered as it was traditional. Or at least he assumed as much. He’d not really been exposed to the classical music of Europe but he had heard enough from his own country and it was what he went to bed listening to often enough, especially when he was younger. “Traditional instruments and singing sometimes.” He did, when going to sleep, prefer pieces without singing as they could be distracting. It was why he went to sleep to music, it kept his thoughts from scattering all over the place, he’d had a need to blank his mind out after hours upon hours of studying when younger and music helped with it - a lot. It was something he could focus on and push the lessons out of his head and stop going over things as he laid down to sleep.
He may not have gone to a Hagwon but he’d gotten into a sky university for a reason - he was good. He self studied and had to use music to shut it down, to stop himself from studying till the moment he fell asleep. He still tended to do it when exams were coming up, had back home in university also, it was just how he was.
Thanking Terry, softly, for moving his hair out of the way he was able to secure the clasp and let the necklace go so the piece he’d made, and the stone they’d been given, could rest against Terry’s chest. “Asked worker...said would need polishing - no rust.” He answered while reaching down to touch his own half that now hung from his own neck. “Lovely….thank you.” He was glad he’d let the other make his, he was glad he’d thought of this for them to do and share with each other.

“Understandable.” Terry would have to look up some of the classical and traditional music from South Korea some time if Seung didn’t get around to showing it to him first. He was curious to see what the differences and similarities would be. Which reminded him, he still needed to introduce Seung to more American songs. Native American music too since the other liked instrument music, he would probably enjoy the flutes and drum beats that were common in those songs.
He nodded when Seung answered his question, making a mental note to look into getting some jewelry polish. He would certainly not let the other’s thoughtfulness get neglected in anyway. “You are very welcome. Thank you for thinking of this.” Terry said with a smile as he got used to the tiny weight hanging from his neck. It wasn’t uncomfortable in anyway and certainly thinking about it made his chest feel warm with affection for the other man.

“Might listen to your classical music...is different but maybe as good.” He said after some time. It might just be as good and if it was just as soothing, and lacked in singing, he was sure he would like it especially for falling asleep to. He might not like it as much as his own music but he was fairly open to various kinds of music, at least for what was available back home. He hadn’t sampled the music here, aside from what he heard from people's cars, he hadn’t gone looking it up or seeking out ideas of what was popular so he could listen to it on his own in private. As much as he was trying to open up to a new culture he was also staying closed in and keeping to his comfort areas and clinging to it.
“Wanted something just us.” He said motioning from himself to Terry to indicate what he meant, right before he yawned and reached for his pillow. Maybe food could wait...he was tired and it was pulling heavy on his conscious. Shifting he moved so his chest pressed to Terry’s side and wrapped his arms about the other. Laying his head on the others shoulder he pressed them both down to the bed and snuggled into the other. “Sleep.” Never mind that he’d brought up food earlier, which was an indicator that he had been hungry and likely still was - he was more tired than hungry.
“Wonder if these will show when knights...magical too.” He said softly. “Hope they do….” So others could see them.
