It was the redblood. Not just any redblood, THE redblood. The one with the cupcakes of FIRE. Keionx could not resist. HOT hot chocolate? Yes please, of course.
"Thank you." She said in her Xionek voice as she took a chance and picked a lovely, warm, teal colored cup of cocoa...
It burned. It burned so much. Orange-tinted tears streamed from her eyes and sopped into her scarf, but she drank it, all of it, and, flushed, she slammed it on the table.
"Delicious." she said, her voice raspy, "Excellent. Exactly what one needs on such a night."
The cupcakes were... tempting... as was the milk, but Keionx felt a need to run laps after such a searing jolt. "Thou shalt see me again, mark mine words... she said, and left to go on a brisk jog...

It wasn't long before the smell of hot chocolate lured Rastin to the next booth. He was always loyal to his drink of choice, tea, but should there ever be a horrible, dark day where he was out of tea, hot chocolate would be his second choice. It satiated his need for warmth and his sweet tooth, what was there not to like?
"Hrm, interesting choice of cup." He said, arching an eyebrow at the steaming cup in his hand. It was a shot glass, something he'd seen in stores but would never think of using himself. He wasn't fond of having very small cups of anything. He raised the cup to his lips, but paused just shy of sipping to look at the others around the booth. ... Why were they all sweating? It was the middle of ******** winter. His brows furrowed and he leaned back to take a sip.
"OH, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!" He shrieked, throwing the cup to the ground and grasping toward his neck. "HAVE YOU PEOPLE NO SHAME OR SANITY? THIS IS LIQUID DEATH! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
He lurched forward, gasping, and looked to Cerise with the face of a boy thrice scorned.
"A glass of milk, please, before I strike someone." He seethed.

Oh, Cerise was here. She was offering free food again.
That was really not something he could turn down, although when he got to the table he had to look down at the offerings in dismay. At least the drinks were, uh, hot? He grabbed a red cup and tossed it back. Blech.
Okay, the burn was at least helpfully numbing. That was nice. And she was selling things. "I'll take some gluten," he said, indicating the box of cupcakes. It would be for Frossa.
Actually, she could probably afford her own damned food. But this way, he was doing a good for two people? Nah, Alifax wasn't that altruistic. It'd just cut down on grub runs from the NFL booth later in the night. Yeah.

Run-Away Nutbeast!Amidst the festivities, you notice a nutbeast scampering underfoot. Before anyone can stop it, it hops onto the counter and takes a sip from one of the steaming hot beverages. You can practically see the steam jettisoning from its ears. It begins a frantic dance, crawling all over the booth. Nutbeasts are not an usual sight by any means, but this one is dressed up with a shell-shaped backpack. It looks like it could be somebody’s pet. If you can catch it, maybe the owner will give you a reward! Rules:To capture Shelly the nutbeast, all you need to do is quote Green Minuet in this thread. Whoever quotes Green Minuet first succeeds in catching her. Anyone else is considered to have lost her in the scuffle. Once you have caught Shelly, you must post in Lutrin’s booth in order to return her and claim your reward. If you have not returned Shelly by the rollover, she is considered to have escaped! Both capture and return posts may be reserved but must be filled out by 12:00am PST in order to redeem your reward.

What's that? As the redblood was passing the hot chocolate booth again, he noticed a nutbeast sitting among the cups. The poor little thing was going to get sick, or trampled, or both. Swooping through the crowd he managed to catch it. Cooing to try and keep it calm, he wandered off to find its home.

After crashing from the coffee, Keionx sought out the next best thing - sugar and heat. Both would wake her up, and she knew where to find both: the demonic coffee stall. "I'll try mine luck..." she growled, picking up one of the shotglasses... and downing it. To the underworld with the spiciness.
She welcomed it.
"HRRRROOOOAAAAR!" she roared, not unlike a roarbeast. "Tis good stuff!" She felt like she was on fire, her face flushed with her umber orange hue. Much better. "I shall pay thee for the other version, as well." she said, purchasing a larger cup, "But consider, perhaps, selling a larger version of this same kick?" Perhaps she was crazy (she was definitely crazy), but this was something she wanted to start her day with.
"Whew..." with the reasonably spiced cocoa in hand, and her energy restored, she resumed her booth patrolling...
(The sad thing is, I misposted in the other tab i had open, and I got the safe number ;___ wink

Roaming through the booths on the second day, the redblood spotted the hot chocolate stand again. He wouldn't mind giving the spice another try, and of course more baked goods. Half of the fun of festivals are the food anyhow, right?
Spicier than yesterday, by far, Fellah was so taken back that he managed to drop the cupcake he just bought. Rather and quickly reach for beetles to get another he just stared down at the destroyed confection, tongue sticking out, looking like someone had just told him his lusus died. The farm troll apparently does not like to see food go to waste.

Rastin, for some strange reason, would not allow himself to skip the Hot Shots booth. Maybe he secretly liked getting his mouth and throat burned beyond repair, or maybe he didn't like allowing himself to be scorned so easily. Either way, his hands were clutching yet another shot glass of hot chocolate, and his face was boiling up a sweat.
"Uggggh!" He growled, wiping at his lips. "I swear, I'm going to keep trying until I find that one cup that isn't filled with liquid fire. Even if I have to lose taste buds to do it!"

Ninfia was excited to see another baking booth. This booth was run by an adorable chubby redblood and dang did it look like she had some good stuff to offer! The bird child eyed the spiced cupcake. What a perfect gift for Tieldad! They slammed down some beetles and grabbed up a cupcake for their bird father.
They weren't done yet though and decided to take on the challenge of spicing up their mouth with some very hot chocolate. Ninfia choose one of the many red cups on the table and dumped it down their hatch.
Normally the redblood was good with hot stuff. They regularly enjoyed hot peppers with their food but, this....this was different. Having never tasted something spiced quite this much, their eyes began to water. They quickly wiped their tears away hoping no one had seen. They definitely didn't want to look weak! The spice quickly overtook their mouth though and it wasn't long before they slammed down a few more beetles for the "antidote." As soon as their mouth was no longer burning they scoffed. "It wasn't that bad." they said, trying not to make it obvious that they couldn't handle it.

Zindel slid over to this booth, feeling giddy and happy from the recent interaction from a friend-- Taking the first shot he saw, he knew he'd be in for one hell of a burn this time.
Guess what! He was totally and completely right. He held it down for the first few seconds before actually, well, releasing a loud wheeze, hand flailing over to the other and feeling around-- Oh my ********, nope, he needed milk tonight, and hell was he ready to splurge. He dropped the beetles on the table before groaning and gulping it down, coughing afterwards. Man, that burned!
