Rogue had also pinned Blade's cheat sheet to his tail too, and while his brother seemed to skip through the test at a quick pace, he decided to go slow. He made motions of attempting work out the problem himself and erased quite a bit. Like his brother, he too got a few things intentionally wrong. He was done with 10 minutes of test time to spare.

As they walked home that evening, they chattered excitedly about their "mission." Blade was excited, it was such a rush what they'd pulled off and gotten away with! Their teacher was no fool and caught cheaters before, but not them. Not the Brew bros.
They stopped along the way, trashing their respective sheets in different garbage bins. They wouldn't know it yet, but it was the beginning of a exciting partnership. Brother and brother, team work all the way.

But the brothers weren't as clever as they thought.
Upon grading the tests, an interesting thing was discovered. Morning Glory wrote a large red A - on the top of a test with Blade's name on it. This made the teacher pause. Blade wasn't the worst in class, but not the best. Certainly not the type to pull an A out of his flank. She didn't know how he'd done it, but he'd definitely cheated. Maybe off his brother, the pair were pretty tight. She wrote notes at the top of Blade and Rogue's tests.

After school Blade stared up at his teacher, a lump in his throat. He'd aced his test, as expected, but Miss Glory had written a "See me after class" note at the top. He'd immediately started to sweat. Class was a long, agonizing slog. Everytime she'd turn in his direction he'd duck down or drop his eyes to his book.
Glory looked down at her pupil, clasped her hooves together and said evenly. "Congratulations on your A Blade. How did you manage it?"
Blade stuttered: "Uhm, I've read the..the..the..books and stuff I'm j..just bad with homework." She looked at him expectantly. He couldn't look at her. She sighed.
"I don't know how you did it Blade, but I'm sure that you cheated." Blade blanched and Glory side eyed Rogue. "I don't know if Rogue fed you answers somehow or you were looking at some phony else's paper, but there is just no way with the grades that you make in everything, that you can make an A on a surprise test. Unless you are some sort of untested wunderkin."
"Maybe..?" Blade said hopefully. The look on Glory's face told him now was not the time to be making wise remarks.
"I'm afraid I am going to have to talk to your parents. Cheating is a serious offence."
The mint colt deflated. Failing would have been bad enough, but cheating? He'd never get to fence again! Tears welled up in his golden eyes and he sniffled. Goodbye Olympic dreams...
