Little rain? More like walking through a sudden waterfall...
Needless to say it didn't take long for Tryst to become completely soaked through. Since he had taken off his outer layer the male was left in a vest that once drenched clung to his well toned body and brought a chill to his skin. Even for someone from Zena the dampness of the rain seemed to get into his bones. It was different from the snow which while cold often came down slowly rather than pelting into his skin.
Still, the male just gritted his teeth and moved forward. At least she could handle the 'little' rain as she said. Taking hold of the cart he helped push them forward - rather quickly at that - until they hit the tree line. As they walked under the trees the male was glad to see that the leaves did serve some purpose. Frowning slightly, Tryston withheld his own shivering so that he could look over at the girl. "You okay?" He questioned before glancing around. Even now the rain was still dripping through the leaves, but at least it wasn't an open slaughter.
It also was too damp for a fire....sighing, Tryston glanced around their grove. "Are you cold?" The last thing he needed was to bring the girl to her new home sick.Glancing towards a tree that seemed to have a more hollowed out trunk he gestured forward, "You can wait out the rain there. I'll stand guard until this is over." In the distance the sound of rolling thunder boomed and it made the back of his neck twitch. This might be a longer rest than planned...

As long as she was moving, Constynce was okay. The rain washing over her was refreshing, and the movement kept her warm enough. When she got to the trees though, her teeth chattered slightly as the wind cooled her damp skin. Despite the chill, she started laughing. She hadn't been able to play in the rain for quite some time. It felt like freedom.
Rubbing her hands over her arms, she looked over at her escort. Seeing the man with his clothes clinging to him... well, at least her face was warm now. She quickly looked away out of courtesy, and nodded slightly. "Just a little," she said through clicking teeth, still laughing to herself. She looked at the hollow of the trunk, looked back at Tryston, and shook her head. "You look a little chilled, too. Nothing's going to happen while it's storming like this. You should come sit with me. Then we'll both be warmer." Without waiting to hear an answer, she turned to climb up into the nook of the trunk, tucking her small frame as deep in as possible to protect from the wind that bit her skin.

He should what?
Tryston frowned at the suggestion. Wasn't it improper to sit so close to a lady, especially one he was escorting to her fiance? Still the damp cold did seem to penetrate through his bones. Glancing towards the plants as if they owed him a good favor for his loss of warm clothing the male slowly surveyed the area. "Let me check..."
Walking around the forest for a bit only served to drench him more, but at least the male could see that they were safe. It was not in his training after all to let unexpected dangers sneak up on him so easily. As he walked back Tryston attempted to linger outside of the tree until the crack of thunder in the skies above announced even more rain. Minutes passed and he glanced over his shoulder.
Ever so slowly he made his way towards the tree until the next bout of rain made him slip in. Not for himself of course. He had picked up on her shivering and didn't want to leave her without heat. "It helps I suppose for two to stay warm." Tryst commented as he slipped in right next to Constynce. "If you don't mind I can try to help you stay warm." He carefully reached an arm out and hesitated before placing it around her shoulders. Sitting there the male kept his own flustered gaze away from the girl and tried to focus on the rains. It was interesting to listen to the melody of the falling rain as opposed to the silent descent of snow....much better than the dancing rhythm of his heart.

After brushing off as much of the damp as she could, with her legs under her and her arms around her, Constynce closed her eyes and sighed softly. Listening to the rain from under the protection of a tree was so much more satisfying than hearing it from under a roof. Everything was better outside...
She was only slowly warming up, and would peek out from time to time to pout at the vague silhouette of her escort. She was chilly... Though, he was from the frozen land. He was probably used to be cold. After all, cold was cold was cold, right?
Brow rising when Tryston's voice came close, she playfully glared at him. "I wouldn't mind at all," she said, gasping softly as the man's damp clothes brushed her skin. However, she could feel the warmth between them growing quickly. Too carefree to worry about propriety, she leaned right up against his larger body, tucking against him.
"You're quite warm for come from the frozen land," she commented innocently. "I'll admit, I wondered if you would be cold as well after I was told about you."

"Alright then." Perhaps the people of Tale were more comfortable with sharing space. Trying his best to ignore his closeness to the female, Tryce stirred at her question. "We are still earthlings." He replied with a small frown, "While home we may be colder than others, but warm blood still runs through our veins. It would be almost like expecting you to be a tree since you are from Tale." Though with the color of the leaf people and their eyes, he could almost see them as a living plant. Just as his skin was pale like ice, her's was dark as wood while she had lively green eyes.
"We would be unlucky indeed though if that were the case." He added thoughtfully, "Else you would truly be freezing." Glancing over towards her he nodded, "Would be a shame to freeze my charge on the first night." That stated he glanced back towards the raging storm. "How long does this last? I'm used to constant snow showers, but this seems more like a blizzard." At this rate they would be here for the night...which probably wouldn't be the worst idea. When this cleared up they could begin again in the morning. Though the thought of sharing space with the girl did threaten to warm his cheeks.
But she was his charge and it was his duty to protect her. Even if it meant sharing space so that they could both stay warm. Surely anyone else would do the same. Right? Glancing down towards Constynce the male felt his chest knot. It didn't matter anyways. He would never touch someone who belonged to another...even if he was ever tempted in the first place. Something that he doubted would ever happen. He was a man of the sword and honor was his guideline. Therefore such behavior didn't interest him in the slightest. "We can rest here for the night. If you become uncomfortable I can move, just inform me." More than likely he would wait for her to fall asleep and then begin his own patrols again.

Giggling lightly, Constynce patted Tryston's arm. "I know. I'm sorry if that upset you." He did have a strong arm~ Brow rising as he compared expectations, she paused a moment before sighing heavily. "Being a tree would be so much easier," she murmured, gaze shifting down to her knees. Trees had troubles, but they didn't have to worry about senseless killing by other trees, or being married off...
"I do appreciate you being warm," she said with a little smile, trying to ease the ache in her belly caused by those last thoughts. Looking out at the pouring rain, she shrugged lightly. "Heavy rains like this don't usually last too long. The lighter rains may last for hours though. They're not a problem to walk through." A crack of thunder made her giggle again. "Okay, I get it!" she yelled out from the hollow, shaking her head. "This one might last a while. It's crabby."
Shifting to sit more comfortably against her escort, she nodded. "I'll let you know," she assured, pressing herself firmly against him for whatever warmth she could leech from his body, her eyes steadily drifting closed.

Freezing at the sudden touch the male just shook his head, "I'm fine." His gaze flickered to the side and his head turned away so that the faint violet flush to his cheeks couldn't be seen. "You think?" He asked at her soft comment, "I think they would be too jealous of those who can move around them. To be stuck in one spot for eternity...it doesn't feel right." Perhaps it was because of his own wandering nature, but the boy couldn't imagine not having the ability to journey. Yet, that was where he left his own soft comment. He needed no response as he simply stared out into the storm.
The faintest of smiles escaped him as she yelled out at the storm, "I suppose this will be our shelter then for the night." As she fell asleep next to him the male couldn't help positioning himself so that his arm would drape over her as a blanket. His own plan to roam the night was halted by the raging winds outside and soon enough even the apprenticed swordsman found his eyes closing.
The morning sunlight would find not only damp grass and glistening trees, but also a pair of earthlings intertwined in a hollowed tree. Thankfully Tryston was the first to awaken and after silently chastising himself for falling asleep so easily the boy gently slipped away from Constynce. As he stood outside of the tree the loss of warmth was noticeable. The thought made him glance back towards the tree. Lyrie had told him it would be an escort mission, but...why did it feel so different? Tryst shook his head and brushed the thought off. It was not his life and if the girl was getting married then it wasn't his business. He was hired to escort her to the village and to guard her until the ceremony...there was no need to worry about her personal feelings on the matter.
That decision in mind kept him quiet for the rest of the journey. While Constynce may have done nothing the male did his best to stay polite yet stern and distant. He couldn't slip up here, not on his first mission. Hearing, however, that the girl's fiance had gotten called to a sudden council meeting in Zena made the male frown. "My mission is to guard the girl until the ceremony not drag her across Tendaji." He commented to the village elders.
"Is she not to see her fiance? He's so eager. If you are to guard her then you follow her to Zena. Is it not your home after all?"
Suddenly it was making more sense that they had asked for an ice swordsman. They knew that she would have to go to Zena to meet her fiance, but they hadn't wanted to worry the other village leaders. What would they think knowing that their daughter was off to such frozen lands? Once more Tryst shoved the worry aside. He was hired to be a guard then guard he would. It would just be in Zena now rather than Tale....
He just hoped that the ice winds of the Northern mountains would not be too harsh on the leaf girl...,
