Dex nodded along slowly with Shade's words. He would be quite content to never return, he figured. Not that every single part of his life in Oba had been revealed as cruel... but enough.
Speaking of... that life had led to this one... Cheeks heating up slightly, he looked at Shade with a smile. She was really glad to have met him? "I'm glad I met you, too," he assured. Letting her go as she slipped away, he stood up as well and brushed at his pants. "Let's go on, then."
After packing his things, he retrieved his shield and gave it a little smile as well. Life really had gotten better since meeting Shade... Securing his things, he walked back to Shade and cocked his head slightly. "You said.. you have nightmares every night, but not last night. ..Do you want me to keep sleeping with you?” he asked innocently, truly only thinking that he wanted to help keep the nightmares at bay from his friend.

"Yes, lets~!" A small bounce was back in her step as she darted around and packed up her bedroll and other belongings. Tying a scarf around her head, to protect against both the sunlight and any wandering eyes while they were in Oba, Shadiya stood at the edge of where their encampment had been. In the sunlight the girl seemed to glow especially as she glanced back towards Dexurn while hold a hand on her hip playfully, "Come on! Just a few more days and we should be out of here~"
Now that they were moving further away from the cities she felt a bit better about life. There still was a few places that she would prefer that they skirt around, but after Dexurn's comforting presence last night the girl felt a bit more energized. That was of course until she stumbled at his suggestion, "What?" Her gaze widening the girl waved a hand in the air before her, "Are you suggesting we sleep together now?" Her heart hitched in her chest. Would it really be such an awful thing? She had slept so peacefully last night as well...
"I suppose that would save on more screaming fits...and on tavern fees if we shared a bed." She teased lightly while trying to calm her own racing heart, "Though I never expected you to propose such a thing! Considering how stubborn you were the first night we ever spent together." She pursed her lips in a playful pout, "You took the floor over me back then too. Do you suddenly find me to be a nicer pillow than a hard floor?" She smirked, trying her best to keep things light. "Then I guess...if you truly want...we can try."

Blushing lightly as Shade pointed out his previous stubbornness, Dex shrugged and tapped a toe into the sand, eyes bashfully lowered to the ground. That's right. It really wasn't right for them to be in the same bed together! More than one person to a bed usually meant one of two things, and neither were what he wanted to relive. "Well, i-it's different now, r-right? We're friends. And... I-I just want to help keep the nightmares away. That's all. ..Y-you don't deserve them. I'm willing to try if you want to."
His blush deepened as he toed at the ground again, too caught up in his bashfulness to join the playful tone. "And, if it's not too selfish... I slept a lot better than usual last night, too. ..I-I understand if you'd rather not. Just.. you just have to say so."

Smiling Shadiya turned around and reached out to touch Dexurn's shoulder, "It's fine." Despite her previously racing heart, Shadiya felt calmer as she saw Dexurn's reaction. At least she wasn't the only one blushing her face off. The thought brought a small laugh to her lips, "I mean aren't we companions? Gotta help each other get through this adventure no matter what, right?"
Moving her hand so that she could poke his nose the dancer twirled away, "Thankfully Sauti and Tale are cooler than Oba so you don't have to worry about me sleeping in barely anything. That should help too~" She couldn't help teasing him while her own heart jumped at the thought. Just being in Dexurn's arms had given her such a fuzzy feeling....was it because he was her first true companion and friend? Everyone else she had known were just friends, no one had been so close to her before. Surely that was all this was, right? I'm so silly. Shaking her head, Shadiya motioned forward. "Since I slept so well last night I have plenty of energy to spare~! Maybe if we get far enough and it's still early I can give you another dancing lesson before we sleep tonight~"
Smiling the girl began to move forward with a light heart. She was thankful for Dexurn and glad that her presence helped him as well. The last thing she wanted to be seen as was a hindrance to him. If she could act as a guardian against his own bad dreams as well then that was a blessing too. It also helped her to feel less selfish about asking for such a request. Face flushing lightly Shadiya just shook her head quietly at her own wandering thoughts.
We're just companions that's all...
Right?

Looking up as the tension seemed to calm down, Dex smiled and nodded. He'd always been told that friends helped each other, and that's what they were doing! .....though being reminded of Shade's nightwear in Oba's heat only added the heat to his own cheeks. Thinking such of Shade wasn't very friend-like of him, surely!
Shaking his head after his nose was poked at, he sighed with amusement and headed after the dancing spirit. "No promises," he said with a little chuckle. He still felt utterly clumsy when dancing, only making slow progress forward. With Shade, he felt... something. He couldn't put a word to it, whatever he felt was nice and comfortable. Different than ever before. ...It was something special. He just didn't know what.
