At the mention of flower crown, Cid visibly perked up. "******** yes!" he called back and was immediately up on his feet going through his display of costumes and fashion to find something that screamed Aleksy at him. Also others. This was Aleksy. He disappeared behind one of the displays before he returned, triumphantly, with a small top hat. It was modelled after the mad hatter's hat but where there should have been a card there was a small assortment of knives (that were all fake, thanks police). The ribbon that wrapped around the base also had something written in small text on it. It may have, in fact, read: i will cut u if u annoy me. "That is a ******** ominous as s**t response, Wil." Cid was pouting, not entirely happy with it. Nasir was holding a hand out for the hat to carry, if only because he assumed Cid did not want to leave his booth. "A small consolation your buddy here is going to get me a flower crown." Still pouting. "Eat your snacks, Wil, I've got no questions for now." Grinning, Nasir made his way back between the booth and Wil's little set-up to head over to Aleksy's booth with the small hat (which did have a headband apparently).

Aleksy accepted the hat from Nasir and gestured to his selection of flower crowns: roses, small lilies, daisies. "Whichever you like," he said, very primly slipping the hairband on. His face was completely straight as he nodded his thanks across the street to Cid. Then he looked back to his inventory booklet, and updated it to reflect Nasir's choice.

Nasir's hand overed over the choices before he settled on the daisies. They seemed appropriate for Cid. Said shop owner threw thumbs up as he saw the choice made. "Thank you," the young cook said. It wasn't really necessary and he had been by earlier with a small parcel of goodies. It was carried back to Cid who snatched it up and put it on. "Erwin Smith now wears flower crowns," he declared. "It's canon, don't argue with me about it." No way Nasir was arguing it, instead he was taking one of the chairs hidden in the back of Cid's booth so that he could have a seat himself and eat a warm pastry.

In her wandering, Autumn realized that, at the flower booth, there was a familiar face. They hadn't spoken- at all, actually- but she very distinctly remembered the guy running the booth from Other Ashdown. Meandering over, Autumn busied herself with looking at the various flowers they had on sale. Already, she was getting better at recognizing them. Score one for her emotional meltdown earlier. Looking up, she tried to wave down the shopkeep, intent on starting up a conversation.
"Um. Hey there, stranger! I didn't quite catch your name, last time we... bumped into each other," she offered lamely, internally wincing. But really, how else were you supposed to say 'we went through hell and were both there and I wanted to touch base about it' without looking batshit crazy to onlookers?
Hopefully, he would pick up on what she was laying down.

Anyone who spared a glance at the man could probably easily pick out the internal dialog written clear on his face: this is not what I wanted to do with my day. Alas, Lucas was at the beck and call of the Higher Ups™ and since they were still waiting for the offices to be complete, hey, could he check out the local fashion thingamajig since he was a local? For research?Balls, but he'd done more in the name of research in the past six months then he'd done in the years previous. He exhaled sharply under his breath as he moved along behind a small gaggle of fashionistas, eyes focused on the phone in his hand, the likes of which had earbuds from it snug in his lobes, music being his choice of avoidance. In the 'spirit' of fashion, Lucas wore his hair in a low man-bun and a long-sleeved button-up tee with sleeves folded to his elbows, a casual low cut vest over it. He switched his phone from his prosthetic hand to the other, tucking the phone into his vest, lips pursed. He'd give it a half hour and that was that.if anyone wants to chat to Lucas or have him run into you, just tag me~

Wil was wiping his mouth of the crumbs from his snack (though he had more because Nasir was the best and that got stashed in his backpack- it was a something velvety and black with big yellow panther looking eyes on the back). He scanned the crowd for kids or gaggles of girls because they usually appreciated the fortune tellings a bit more than others. Instead he spotted Lucas. He recognized him by Nasir's description and nudged his friend with his foot for a visual confirmation. Yes was it him? Yes it was? "Lucas!" He really didn't know him by name but robot-arm-guy was probably super rude. The blonde grinned under his flower dotted curls, "Tell your fortune?"

Nasir and Wil likely looked more flower child than fashionista with the flowers in their hair but next to Cid's booth ... Well, no one looked like they were in the right kind of fashion next to Cid's booth. Nasir was invested in his phone, making notes about a couple things - always about food - when he felt Wil's foot nudge. "Hm?" Brown eyes looked up and then over to where Wil was pointing. Oh, yeah, that was definitely Lucas. "Yeah, that's him," he replied, even if the other had never said a word. With Wil calling him over, Nasir was waving his hand in greeting.

Jeremiah said he needed to bring someone cookies but Alg was mostly interested in being present for baking - stealing batter and eating crispy broken bits. Still it was fashion week and in his youth he'd been a bit of a dandy. Despite his usual attire of tweed and sweaters, the professor's wardrobe was a bit more vast when the situation called for it. He and Jeremiah had actually dressed to go out. You'd think it was Pitti Uomo and not just AFW (Ashdown Fashion Week) with the suit and sunglasses, but Algie was out on the town (with his usual frown). Maybe walking a bit more close to Jeremiah than usual. Maybe. everyone stylish old gays on the scene

Aleksy looked up at Autumn. His eyes widened, fractionally. Then, looking quite green, he looked back down. It didn't help that his Sight had been going haywire lately; he seemed to see the echoes of other ashdown everywhere he looked, which certainly couldn't be right... But this girl... "Aleksy Yurievich," he said, smiling, the expression quite strained. "I don't believe I caught yours. You handled the..." his attempt at a smile completely failed "...thing."

"I did," she agreed awkwardly, realizing the conversation was kind of flat. Had she been rude? s**t. Maybe she just... shouldn't have approached him here. He was working, after all. Nonetheless, Autumn smiled as brightly as she could.
"Autumn. Autumn Smith. Your flowers are really nice," she gestured towards them. "Weird question... would you object to having more?"

He dimly heard a shout over the sound of his music, but didn't quite make it out to be his name, casting a brief glance around - which is when he caught a wave, drawing his attention. Well hot damn! A friendly face! And just like that, Lucas went from people-repellent stern-face to a flicker of recognition and a brightening of pleasure at the familiarity, a smile breaking his tight-lipped refusal to take part and settling his eyes into comfortable crescent moons. He gave a short wave as he adjusted his path, tugging the ear buds out of his ears with his good hand and tucking them into his pocket with his phone. His smile evolved into an easy grin, taking in the vibrant twosome. "Nasir!" he greeted his savior cheerfully, lifting his prosthetic hand to touch his index finger above his brow and offer a casual, good humored salute to the blond he didn't know (but a friend of Nasir's was enough to be on his good side). "Sir. How're you two surviving this hubub?"

Jeremiah had a section in his closest that was entirely because of Algie but as it was fashion week and he was actually going to be out and about during it ... He dressed for the occasion. The two of them together made for a rather stylish combo, even Jeremiah sporting sunglasses as well. This was possibly the most relaxed looking clothing he had been seen in in a while despite also being the most dressed up. This was the last thing he was going to enjoy before going back to work, a tray balanced in hand to deliver. He'd make his way to the person these delicious vodka cookies went to eventually. For now, at least, his shoulder brushed against Algie's and he leaned to whisper something in his ear. What? Even Jeremiah had an eye for fashion and there were some terrible fashions (looking at you Cid). ... and then everyone was like why do you not dress like this all the time???

Aleksy arched an eyebrow, daring to look back up at the woman. She didn't look... human. Or she did, but things were just... He took a deep breath and squared his shoulders. "How do you mean," he said. "Do you grow them?"

"...my cat does?" She said meekly, offering a sheepish smile. Hopefully, he would get that it was an Other Ashdown thing, without her having to look like a batshit crazy lady here in public. Again, Alesky seemed uncomfortable. Autumn found herself deflating, and rubbed her arm absently.
"But. I mean. ...If I'm upsetting you, I can go?"

Kally didn't have much to be doing that day, so she'd happily volunteered to pick up extra hours being Cid's 'booth b***h'. In preparation for that, she'd pulled out a few nicer items that she didn't often wear, and so were minimally worn: a galaxy-print dress she'd gotten as a hand-me-down, small lacy socks, and tiny cast-resin earrings she couldn't bear to part with. Because it was Kally, she was also drowning in an oversized leather bomber jacket, pockets weighted down with rolls of coins. These she sorted into Cid's cash box once she returned, sitting cross-legged on the ground behind the table as she worked and waved over at Wil and Nasir, who were cool friends. Also slightly overbearing friends, but she got that a lot lately. "I like the flower crown," she said to Cid. "Where'd you get it?"
