Aylin had watched the radaku depart with curiosity, she wondered where the group was staying and how long it would have taken to train Mvua to follow directions so well. She laughed lightly at Mnyiri’s flexing, “I guess a life in the trees keeps me pretty fit. But, if you're an Alkidike aren't you supposed to train really hard to be a really strong warrior?” Aylin worried that she would come off as rude, but at the same time she hadn't been able to actually talk with any Alkidikes before so it was worth the risk.

She enjoyed the conversation as they walked, “I guess we do get our name from the ability to shift, huh?” She looked down to her arm and noticed it wasn't entirely black, more like a deep grey at this point and noted that it was past high noon. “It’s definitely a slower change, but I guess it does look more drastic at sunset and sunrise, when we change from silvery white to grey. I’ve noticed that I'm darkest at noon, so I can tell that since I'm just a tad lighter now that it must be afternoon.

Since they were talking as they walked the time seemed to pass faster and it looked as though they would soon be reaching the open air market at the heart of Ast.

So sorry; short post is short!

"What I'm supposed to do and what I actually do are two totally different things." Mnyiri pointed out sagely. "A sister my age should be training hard each day to become the best warrior she can be. Me? I prefer to train a little bit, and then study the rest of the day away. Actually, what I was hoping to find here were some literary texts that your people wouldn't mind parting with." her 'library', while vast, had been poured over multiple times already and Mnyiri needed a change in reading.

Her eyes traveled from the approaching settlement to Aylin's skin, watching with excitement as the epidermis shifted hues right in front of her eyes. "Fascinating. I hope I can remember to write that down later."

No worries, I'm glad to finally be finishing an rp!

Aylin nodded her head, feeling sheepish for having asked, “I don’t think I could just train all day either … I just love learning new things too much.” She thought of the books available in the village and shrugged, “I’m not sure if you’ll be able to find much for sale, but I don’t think any of the vendors would mind you asking!”

Aylin laughed lightly and shrugged, “I guess it’s more fascinating for those it doesn’t happen to. I kind of take it for granted that most people I know change color as the day passes.” They had made their way to the fringes of Ast now and were walking beneath the raised homes towards the village square and market. “There could be less merchants out now because it’s later in the day, but you should definitely still be able to get food and drink.”

One more from you should wrap it up. x3

"Me too. I suppose I could spend all day learning new fighting techniques, but wheres the fun in that? So long as I know which way to point my spear I'm fine." Oh, if only her mothers could hear her! They would be absolutely furious.

Mnyiri looked above her towards the elevated homes. It always surprised her that Shifters would choose to build on the trees exterior instead of inside it, like her people; their way seemed so much more dangerous than it had to be. What if a storm knocked their home loose? "Would you care to join me? That is, if you don't have any where else to go. I could always get some to go for Rhonann." It wouldn't be where she came for, but the chance to speak more with Aylin was too good to pass up.

So excited to have finished my first rp in the shop! You change the title to [FIN] now, right?

Aylin replied excitedly, “I’d love to! My training is all done for the day and I’m not expected back until later.” She certainly wouldn’t pass up on the opportunity to spend more time with the fun and curious Alkidike. Really, she should probably still be meditating, but there was no chance of her regaining her focus now … and there was plenty of days she could meditate, how many times would she get the chance to eat with Mnyiri?

When they arrived in the square she excitedly moved about the vendors, picking out her favorite local dishes for Mnyiri to try- more or less acting like an overly enthusiastic child- and finally settled to eat when there was definitely more food than the two alone could finish. Mnyiri would be able to take the remaining food for Rhonnan and it meant more opportunities to try local favorites!
