Quote: 41 - 60: You manage to navigate through the fog into a segment of thick concrete. The area is extremely dangerous and radiates high levels of Fear and Insanity. You hear a voice mocking you, and laughing at the same time, words nonsensical. For a second you feel as if someone is watching you from behind you, tugging at you. As you walk past the pavement you realize all the cracks on the sidewalk are shaped in a large, wrinkled grin. Gretchen bit her lip at Jack's chastising, glancing back at Chel briefly before falling into step again. Logically she knew Isaac wasn't there, she knew that, but this fog...it played tricks with the mind. Of course, now that she was starting to know what to expect, it was a little bit easier to realize when she was being messed about with. Of course, realizing it didn't really do much to for the trainee's nerves. She still felt like she was jumping at shadows, but at least now it was only jumping. Even when she heard the soft whisper of voices again, the eerie, smiling cracks in the concrete beneath her feet. It's not real, keep moving.

The longer they stared in the area the more Chel felt her skin crawling. She heard Nevada's voice this time, but Jack's broke through it. Somehow that was all the more nauseating.
"Yeah well you need t'stop bein' such a p***k," she responded, trying to keep the tone light but unable to escape the unsteadiness in her voice. "There's some kind of ******** up goin' on here."Quote: 41 - 60: You manage to navigate through the fog into a segment of thick concrete. No s**t. But he could see both women were starting to grow jumpy, so he kept his mouth shut.
Reaching back, he tied his scarf behind his hair so the pseudo filter would at least stay up. Out of the corner of his eye Jack saw a greyed out version of himself with a splitting grin, and while the sight gave him chills, he continued to look stoic.
"Just stay close," he said. One could almost hear the please. The last thing they needed was for one of them to fall through one of the holes up ahead and get missed entirely.

No problems there. Well, hopefully. Gretchen had no intentions of wandering, but in this place, in this fog, intentions only counted for so much. She tried to keep at Chel's side, keeping the other girl in her immediate peripheral. It was a challenge, even sticking nearly close enough to bump elbows. The voices were coming back, creeping through the fog. Not just Isaac now, but Lukas as well. Taunting, biting words tossed at her that she knew neither would ever say to her or about it. It helped her ignore them. Quote: 1- 20: You can't see through the thick layer of fog. At some points you hear someone call you, whether or teammate or another voice entirely. At other points you see a shadow of someone, as you reach towards them they disappear entirely. You trip over something - a body rotting, thick dark blood still blossoming on the ground in crystal-like fragments. They are smiling with eyes wide open at you. chiickadee Sorry for the delay! Wedding, then Florida trip. I'm home now 83

"You want me t'hold yer hand too?" she taunted, pulling her scarf up in a similar fashion. She gave Gretchen a small shove, both to give herself a little space (standing elbow to elbow meant she was screwed if she had to summon her bow) and to jar the girl out of her fright a bit. "Take notes, cyborg- Jack Hawthorn still needs t'hold hands when he's sca-"
But she didn't get to finish her lighthearted joke because she stumbled over a cracked rock. Another part of the sidewalk cracked, and then another and another. She'd been too busy keeping tabs on the two hunters with them (and consequently trying to keep them from freaking out) that she hadn't noticed her tiny scout hovering around a singular portion of the ground.
Soon the whole ground was a mosaic of cracks and holes, and a familiar gaseous substance filled the air. The scarves helped a bit, but the effects were impossible to avoid. Dizziness, coughing. "Jack?" was the first thought she could get out between it all.
Show time.
Boss HP: 100 Auto DMG: 8Quote: - As you continue walking down the sidewalk you hear a large crack, followed by another. A strange gas explodes from underneath, making you extremely dizzy, as you cough to figure out what is going on, fighting for air now. You have exposed your entire team to a hallucinogen, making everything more terrifying than ever as your vision swims and hops uncontrollably and your hearing becomes muted. Something creaks, groans, lurches underneath you, but is that your imagination? - BOSS MECHANICS: This boss is a mob that has collective 100 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. AS you can't really see the boss, most of it will have to be dependent on what you can see, if anything at all, from strange faceless figures lurching, half-hopping towards you to the smiling dead coming back and swiping at you. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back.
