Gavyn's sudden appearance had been unexpected, and certainly getting crushed by the brunette had also been a little out of the blue, but in all honesty Darren was glad to have some human company in his dream. Gavyn sure seemed concerned about his face though, in spite of Darren's reassurances that he was fine. Darren gave the boy a small pitying smile. Gavyn was so kind, even in his dreams. After Gavyn got off of Darren, he and Hercules took care of the flustered spearow, claiming a pair of pants as their prize. Darren had to resist a snort of amusement at the idea as he stored the clothing away. Merlin commented on how backwards the battle had been, and Darren nodded in agreement. "Yes, everything here is quite strange, though I suppose that's to be expected. So strong attacks are weak, and weak attacks are strong. I think I've heard of this phenomena before, but never have I had the chance to experience it first hand before." Darren commented. "I believe it's called an Inverse Battle, but normally trainers are incapable of hosting one. Specially trained psychics can host them in certain branches of Kalos I believe." Darren was thinking aloud, but soon explained to Gavyn his goal of obtaining Sable's items that he was finding for some reason, inviting the other brunette to help him out. Gavyn accepted, to no surprise, but Darren beamed brightly anyways. "Excellent! Let's get moving then, shall we?" Darren hummed happily, walking over to the edge of the platform and scanning the area for more pokemon after he'd finished healing Hercules back up to full health. As he looked though, Darren made sure Gavyn was okay, more out of an instinctual courtesy.
He would be more concerned if he didn't know, or rather think, that this was all a bizarre dream. Gavyn quickly apologized ad insisted that he was fine, being more scared from the fall than actually in pain. Darren laughed. "What are you apologizing for?" He asked rhetorically. Though he was honestly curious, Darren didn't expect an answer from this figment of his imagination. After all, if Darren didn't know the answer himself, he didn't expect this dream Gavyn to know. Once again, Gavyn asked if he was alright, this time actually being able to complete the question, but Darren gave the boy a curious look, since he'd already answered the question. Maybe he just didn't know Gavyn well enough to dream up some new material for the boy to say. "Yeah? I'm fine, really, you don't have to keep asking me. It's quite alright." He insisted awkwardly, rubbing the back of his head with a hand. Then it dawned on him. Maybe the boy felt bad for crushing him. "You really don't weigh that much." He grinned, walking over to Gavyn and scooping him up bridal style to make his point. "See?" Darren asked, laughing a bit. Sure he was just messing around with the imaginary physics of his dream but.... It was a dream, why not have fun with it? That was Darren's logic anyways. "Haha~ Come on, I think I see another pokemon down there." Darren gave Gavyn a wide grin, stepping off of the platform they were on and free falling to the one just below them. It probably gave Gavyn a near heart attack, but Darren just laughed the whole way down until they landed rather softly. "Heh~ I'm like a superhero here or something. It's pretty neat, you have to admit." He set Gavyn down and glanced around for the blur of purple he'd seen earlier from above.
Hercules had managed to cling to Darren just before he'd jumped down, and stepped off of his clearly loopy trainer. Maybe he'd hit his head too hard when he came through the portal....? Nevertheless, it was clear they were just going to have to deal with it for a while. In the meantime, they needed to try and find more of Sable's stuff. Darren had claimed to have seen a--
Hercules' thoughts were interrupted when a small force slammed into him from behind, knocking him onto his belly. Darren blinked in surprise, turning around to see a rattata with a bell wrapped around it's tail. "Hm. Alright Hercules, use blizzard." Darren waved his hand lazily. For a normal type, the ideal moves to have would be fighting type, but with everything reversed, Darren was certain that they would be weak here. Which meant possibly that ghost moves would be super effective. hercules had neither, so blizzard was their best bet. Sure enough, Hercules let loose a powerful blizzard that froze the little rat on the spot. Darren took advantage of it's immobility to swipe the bell off of it's tail before Hercules gave the rat a taste of it's own medicine, tackling it within the ice, which shattered to dump the passed out rattata onto the rocky floor. "That was a bit easier, huh bud? You must be getting stronger~" Darren praised hercules with a pat on the head, spraying him with another potion. Darren glanced at the bell in his hand again however with a frown. He didn't remember if Sable had a bell like this or not, but considering there was an abra teleporting everywhere with Sable's bag, and Darren hadn't ever actually seen all of it's contents, it stood to reason that his mind would fill in some of the blanks.

It was a good thing that Jin had been so vigilant about where he was stepping and whether the ground under his feet was safe or not. Just as he was about to take another step along the only path in front of him, a large section of the ground in front of him simply vanished."Woah!"The yelp echoed faintly as the dark type quickly adjusted his weight and stepped back. He took a few breaths that were mildly shaky and peered past the new edge of the ground to see what sort of bullet he dodged. His shuddering body made it quite clear that he wished he hadn't as he saw that, while there was indeed some ground below where he would have fallen, it was quite a ways down and filled with earthen spires that rose up, perhaps having been connected to the now-missing ground he had attempted to walk along."...T-too close..."he stammered, shock and fear still maintaining a slight grip on the disguised zorua.
After another moment of standing and shuddering, the dark type quickly forced his eyes shut and shook his head harshly.No! Calm down! You aren't a fluff-kabob, so quit acting like a kit and pull yourself together!A shaky sigh escaped from Jin once he stopped and tried to soothe himself. Once he was done, he opened his eyes again and looked back at where the path he was taking used to be. The ground hadn't reappeared yet, and he wasn't sure if it would."...Guess I'm gonna have to backtrack a bit..."he muttered to himself, then turned around to do just that. Before he could try, though, a startling sight brought him to a halt. As if someone had just sliced it off and taken away the scraps, the path he had walked along was also mostly missing. All that remained was the patch of ground he stood upon, plus a bit more room. Enough for him to lay down in any direction if he needed to, but that was about all he had."Oh, you've got to be kidding me!"Jin exclaimed as his illusion got down in its hands and knees."No, no, no!"No matter which direction he looked, it seemed that he was stranded on some pathetic joke of an island floating in the sky."No, there has to be a way off! There's gotta be so-AHH!"
In desperation, Jin had tried checking underneath the patch of ground he was trapped on. It hadn't been very thick, so it wasn't difficult for him to get his illusion's head down far enough to eyeball its underside. As soon as he had, though, it felt as if someone had flicked a switch on gravity, and the dark type let out a terrified shout as he suddenly felt himself start to fall upward. Panicking, the dark type clawed for the only thing he could, which was the small island of earth that he was quickly falling away from. He felt the earth under his hand..."Ha! ...Shiiiiiiiiiiiii-"...Only to feel it crumble away from the small island of earth and send him plummeting through the sky.
As she and her beedrill continued to walk through the strange world they were trapped in, Sable could have sworn she heard a noise that was both odd to her and almost miraculous if it was truly what she thought it might be."...Honey...? Ya hear dat...?"the teen asked, causing the beedrill to look around and have her antennae twitch. She wasn't entirely sure what she was hearing, either, but she certainly heard something. More importantly, she was starting to smell something, too. Something nice."Thing it sounds lige wader..."the trainer ventured, a guess that the bedrill couldn't really disagree with right off the bat. She couldn't really agree yet, either, but it was certainly a valid possibility for the strange rushing noise was."Id's something da look for, anyway, so we should ad least check id oud."Both were in agreement with the idea of looking for water, so the two went to search for the source of the noise.
As they continued walking, the sound grew loud enough for the duo to confirm that, yes, it was probably some sort of flowing liquid. Whether that liquid was water or even something safe to drink, they didn't know, but the possibility was enough to cause the two to continue onward. They were even able to spot the source fairly quickly, a sight that caused the two to groan in their own ways."How're we gonna ged up dere?!"the teenage trainer moaned when she saw a waterfall going from one island to another, a sight that would have brought her joy if both islands weren't so high above the patch of ground she was on. As Honey moved to gently pat her trainer's shoulder with the flat of her stinger, both of them started hearing some different noises from further down the path."...A baddle...?"Sable didn't even bother waiting for her beedrill's confirmation before moving off to check on the sounds up ahead.
Jin wasn't entirely sure how he had lost consciousness, and at the moment he didn't really care. He just knew that he had because, if he hadn't, he wouldn't be waking back up."Owwwww..."the zorua groaned, feeling pain all around him. He had anticipated a rough landing, so it wasn't as if the pain was unexpected. Indeed, he actually considered himself lucky that he was in a position to feel pain at all. It didn't feel like it should, though. Pulsing was normal, to an extent, but it was supposed to be in time with his heartbeat. Some of it was, too, but the rest... It pulsed, but to a different rhythm."...Hn...?"Jin had been rather confused, but a set of piercing pains in the back of his neck caused that confusion to be pushed to the side rather quickly in favor of panic. Yowling in pain, the zorua tried to scramble away from the source, and became more frantic when he found that, although his limbs were responding and attempting to claw his way far away from the four sources of pain jabbed into him, his body was restricted by something that tightened in response to his struggling and caused him even more pain.
In a last-ditch effort to get away, the zorua let out a burst of what little psychic energy in order to push whatever was causing him harm away. It didn't do much, but it at least forced whatever had him to loosen its grip enough that he could squirm free before he was once again trapped. Still in a state of panic, the dark type tried to get his attacker in view so that he at least had half a chance to try and evade whatever attacks might come next. Upon seeing what had caused him so much trouble, though, the zorua became a bit more calm as he glared at the ekans that was now even more irritated. Although he didn't know it, the zorua had actually landed on the poison type when he fell, and the ekans decided to enjoy the air-dropped meal as a bit of payback. He did understand that he probably would end up becoming that poison serpent's brunch pretty soon if he didn't do something quick."Crap... Uh, where was that reptile..."Jin hastily muttered as he tried to put some distance between him and the poisonous serpent before nosing through his fur. For a bit, he hadn't found something, but eventually he felt his nose push the button of a pokeball and cause the ball to pop out of his fur as it opened."Yea-ah, crap..."Instead of Oaken, who Jin had been hoping for, Sable's timid little joltik ended up popping out of the ball.
The angry ekans let out a loud hiss before lunging at the tiny electric bug. Frightened, Frizz sprayed out some electrified webbing, hitting the ekans in the face and forcing its mouth shut. It still knocked the little bug aside with its thrashing, though, so the little joltik sent out a ball of green energy in an attempt to not feel as hurt as she did. That attack turned out to be far more effective than anticipated as what remained of the ekans' stamina left its body, causing the snake to slump to the ground unconscious. Jin let out a relieved sigh before curling up and letting out a few moans. He still ached a lot, and it only felt like things were getting worse, but he was at least able to start piecing together his illusionary appearance again. Frizz let out a tiny whimper before scuttling over to Jin and hiding in the fur of his tail.
Sable eventually found the source of the noise she had heard, even though the noise itself had ended. Upon seeing the cause, she let out a cheerful chuckle and hurried over towards the two familiar trainers."Darren! Gavyn! Good da see ya!"she called out to the duo while waving with one arm to get their attention, still sounding rather stuffed up due to how swollen the bridge of her nose felt. She probably looked like a mess to the duo, what with the few articles of clothing she had on being shredded and the number of fresh and not-so-fresh scratches and scrapes along her body in various positions. Although it had stopped bleeding, there was still smeared, dried blood along her upper lip due to the damage caused to her nose from her rough landing. That wasn't even including the old scars on her body or the fact that she was only wearing a pair of panties and a now-blood-stained camisole.

Merlin listened to Darren as he talked about how the battles were working in this place so far, and how it is like an inverse battle. Gavyn, however, could not quite follow. Such backwards battling actually existed? He was not aware that there was even different types of battles. The clefairy was rather quite interested in trying out one of these battles, but one look to his trainer, and he decided now probably was not the best time for that. Gavyn and the fairy followed Darren in looking around.
Gavyn fidgeted as Darren asked what he was apologizing for, almost blurting out ‘sorry’ again. It really was like what Merlin kept telling him – he apologized far too often, especially when he did not need to. The brown haired male was further embarrassed as he realized he had asked Darren if he was okay a second time. His gaze dropped to his own feet as his fingers picked at the sleeves of his sweater. At least Darren didn’t seem to mind too much. Even commenting that he does not weigh much.
However, he did not expect what came next. Gavyn yelped as Darren scooped him up with ease in his arms, further proving the point that he was not very heavy. The scrawny male’s face turned a deep red at this treatment. “P-p-p-personal s-s-sp-space…!” Gavyn squeaked, nearly unintelligible out of how flustered he was. Merlin snickered at the sight of his trainer in Darren’s arms.
As if that was not enough, Darren did not put him right back down, carrying him off. Gavyn could not form words- each time he tried, it was just an awkward squeak or mutter. However, when it became apparent that Darren intended to step off of the ledge of the platform they were on, Gavyn managed to piece together something. “W-wait wh-what-” he managed to say before they were free-falling. The spectacled male squealed and clung to Darren during the fall. Merlin followed with ease, ever amused by the entire situation.
Gavyn’s legs shook a bit when he was set down, still quite flustered from the experience. While Darren was busy with a battle, the brunette messed with his braid a bit, staying out of the way. The battle did not last long, and in fact, the sounds seemed to have attracted another person. That called their names. And sounded a bit familiar.
He turned towards the voice, then immediately regretted it. It was Sable. But she was… quite bloodied and scarred. Not only that, but she was… well, she was not wearing a lot of clothing. He felt a bit nauseous at the sight of all the blood, and quickly turned away to hide his face. Again, he couldn’t find words to speak, flustered babbling coming from him.
“Sable! My goodness, what happened to you?” Merlin asked, not at all bothered that she was wearing a lot less clothes than the last time he saw her. He glanced back at his trainer, who was having some kind of break down. “Heh, I’m sure Gavyn is relieved to see you are mostly alright but… uh… he doesn’t do well with exposure.” Clefairy offered the female a smile, chuckling a bit.

Goodness, Gavyn was so tense! ....Then again the boy always did seem to be worried about something or another, so he wasn't surprised that his dream continued to project this persona on Gavyn's image. To help try and lighten the mood, Darren decided to mess with his dream a bit and scoop Gavyn up to assure him that he wasn't all that heavy. This of course mainly seemed to lighten Darren's mood rather than Gavyn's as the other brunette blushed deeply in embarrassment and sputtered something about personal space, which only made Darren laugh gleefully. "Heheh~ Come on Gavy, loosen up!" He insisted cheerfully, refusing to put the boy down until he relaxed. When that didn't seem to happen though, Darren eventually came to a dead end for the islet they were currently on, and the only way to move forward was to jump down to the islet below. Darren jumped without a second thought, in spite of Gavyn's uncertain words as he began to grasp what Darren was doing, Hercules following right behind them. Gavyn could only squeal as they free fell through the air, clinging tightly to a laughing Darren. The brunette had no fear at the moment, still quite convinced that this was all a dream, allowing him to have the boldness and courage to do things that, under normal circumstances, he would never think to try in a million years.
After they landed, Darren's laughter died down to a chuckle as he had pity on Gavyn and set him down at last. The boys legs were turned to jelly however, so Darren was slow, making sure to keep his arms out for support until Gavyn was able to stand stably on his own. Afterwards, Darren noticed a rattata that happened to be holding on to some sort of bell, so he had Hercules take care of the pokemon so that he could add the bell to the ever growing list of items that Sable had lost, and speaking of Sable.... Darren perked up as a familiar voice called out to them. At first, he didn't even really notice how slightly congested it sounded. Even if he had though, he would have instantly forgotten. Turning to greet Sable with a warm smile, Darren halted at the sight before him, feeling his heart jump up into his throat as his expression quickly shifted from happy to sheer horror. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't speak, but his feet kept walking towards the girl before him while Merlin expressed the thoughts and concerns he wanted to vocalize and simply couldn't. He drew close, gingerly taking her chin and lifting hit to closely inspect the damage that had been done. Normally her attire would render him as sheepish and standoffish as Gavyn, but the mindset of being in a dream made him disregard his already feeble amount of concern for personal space, as Gavyn had already experienced. Aside from that, he was far too concerned with her injuries than her lack of decent coverage, and his eyes could only look over her in horror, focused at first only on her bruised nose and bloody lip, and then moving to the new scrapes and scratches that accented the scars already covering her body. It was a wonder she greeted them so openly and happily.
Concern flooded Darren's features as he got some grip on the shock he had felt at first, finally able to form some sort of verbal sentence. "How did this..... Why... Who did th--" Well, he was at least saying something. It wasn't exactly sensible though, because while the initial shock had ebbed away enough to allow him to speak, he was still so overrun with emotions that he couldn't quite say anything coherent. What was going on? Why was this the image that his brain chose to see Sable as? Concern gave way to sadness, as Darren's hand let go of Sable's chin and seemed to want to touch the other cuts and scrapes, as if somehow that would heal them, but he pulled away knowingly in fear of hurting her more. "Hah.... I...." Darren winced and trembled. His dream really hadn't ended. He had been certain before, but he had thought that the nightmares were over at least. As it turned out, it seemed he was wrong. First that awful memory, and now twisted versions of the people he cared about. He was almost afraid to turn and look at Gavyn for fear that he would change into something gruesome too. "A-alright... That's enough...." He said quietly, backing away with a glossy, defeated look in his eyes. "Time to wake up now Darren...." He simpered, glancing around the unfamiliar area like a cornered puppy, and then closing his eyes tightly shut. "No more.... I don't want to see any more....!!!" He whispered hoarsely to himself. Over time, he had learned to have some control over his dreams. He had thought he was doing fine with this one, up until Sable had shown up in her bloodied and battered state.

Admittedly, Sable hadn't expected either Darren or Gavyn to be all that pleased with her current appearance. Gavyn didn't seem like the sort of person that would enjoy the sight of a bruised and bloodied young woman that was scantally clad in tattered clothing. After adding friendship to that list of qualities, that assessment became doubly true in the case of Darren. Still, the fact that neither of the males could really articulate their concern all that well was not what Sable had expected. Gavyn acted like he couldn't even stand to look at the teen as he quickly turned around, his discomfort quite obvious from the amount of babbling he was doing. Even Darren looked like he was seeing a ghost or something as he approached to look her over. At least one of the people in the group was able to actually express something in words, although it said something that it was the pokemon that did so."Ah, dis? I just had some bad lug,"the teen tried to assure the group, although it didn't seem to do much to help their concerns. At least Gavyn's awkwardness seemed to be more from the outfit - or lack thereof - than the actual state Sable was in, but the same couldn't be said for Darren. The blue-eyed teen had taken her chin in his hand, and Sable didn't stop him as he looked over the various injuries she had endured not too long after waking up in the strange realm. When he finally spoke, Sable gave him a sad frown before trying to assure him again."Id's fine. I just god hid wid a flog of spearow... And, ya know, some of da tree dey were roosting in... And ginda landed on da ground face-first..."Sable let out a sheepish chuckle at that, realizing that, although she certainly intended the information to be calming, it really did sound rather bad. Darren backed off a bit and still seemed rather concerned, so Sable raised her hands with fingers splayed as if to motion for him to wait."Id's really not as bad as id loogs! ...Well, 'cept maybe da nose, 'specially since id's idching, bud dad's still nod dad big of a problem! A shower or bad, some bandages, an ice pag, and I should be good as new!"The teen was actually surprising herself with how hard she was trying to convince Darren that everything was fine, but then, she was used to downplaying her injuries. She just wasn't usually as hectic about it.
As much as the teen tried to calm her friend down, though, ultimately Darren started looking as though he was rather terrified. Everything he did made it quite obvious, and it started to make Sable even more concerned than she already was. It didn't help that he started muttering something about waking up and having seen too much."...Darren... You're already awage..."the teen told him in what she hoped was a calm tone, although there was no hiding her own amount of concern. She didn't think about how much more awkward things would be once he realized that he had been dreaming. Even if she had, it was bad enough for her to actually have nightmares. The teen didn't want Darren to think he was having them, too. She knew better than to try and hug the teen to make him feel better, though. Being covered in cuts and blood as she was, she didn't want to freak him out by suddenly getting quite a bit of her blood on him in what would have been intended as a calming gesture. The fact that she was in a camisole and panties, and that they were quite torn up as well, didn't really factor into things from her point of view."Besides... I don'd ding I'd be drying do convince you dad I'm fine if dis were a bad dream... Or be dis cheerful,"she pointed out, trying to put a bit of logic into things to at least help him accept the fact that he really was awake and, as an unintended side-effect, that Sable really did get injured that badly.
With how horrible he felt, it was slow going indeed. Still, putting his illusion back together piece by piece gave Jin something to focus on. Something that wasn't the pain that was flowing through him. Even after the illusionary body was formed, though, Jin remained curled up on the ground.Just a few more moments... Just a bit longer...It was the sort of thing a kid might mumble to assure themselves that they would eventually get out of bed and seize the day. And, being who he was, Jin was well aware at what a load of tauros dung those assurances usually were. As much as he didn't want to admit it, the dark type was more than content with the idea of laying on the ground curled up in a ball until someone found him. The problem was that he couldn't feel confident that whoever found him would actually want to help him, so as much as he would rather just avoid moving at all, Jin slowly forced himself to his feet."Gotta find... Something that'll help..."he mumbled in a pained voice as he once again began to make his way through the distortion world, his pace much slower than it had originally been.

Gavyn felt bad about being unable to greet Sable, but she was pretty bloody and very underdressed. And well… he had certainly seen more than enough exposed skin for more than just today. He kept babbling a bit to himself quietly, the neck of his sweater pulled up over his red face once more. While he heard that Darren seemed to be a bit in distress as well, there was not much he could think to do but to stay where he was.
Merlin listened as Sable responded, explaining what had happened to her. “You sure are tough, Sable. It is quite pleasant to hear you being so cheerful besides all that.” the clefairy commented. He eyed Darren as the male seemed to react pretty badly to seeing Sable like this. “Yeah, Darren. It does not look like she has any serious damage.” He tried to add assurance. However, he discovered that Darren apparently thought that he had been asleep, dreaming the entire time.
“Heh, that sure explains a lot. Sorry, Darren. Sable is right. You are awake. I can pinch you if you would like~” he added to what the girl was saying, a toothy smile on his face. The poor guy seemed really upset over seeing Sable like this. “This seems to be a different realm… I heard someone call it the distortion world before I had Gavy go find a rift with me.” Merlin explained a bit. He could not help but chuckle a bit to himself. Darren thinking he was dreaming explained how confused he seemed when Gavy and him explained how they got there, and perhaps why he picked up Gavy against his will and made a reckless decision to jump off of a ledge. Sure, Merlin was there and he would have done something to keep them from being hurt if that was a danger. Darren had been pretty lucky with that, though.

It was difficult for Darren to hear Sable's explanation of her injuries over the roaring sound of his own panic. He didn't like this dream any more. Clearly his brain hadn't finished tormenting him just yet, as if the vivid memory of that zorua in the test tube hadn't been enough already. He knew the dangers of befriending a rebel rouser like Sable. He was certain that if she ever knew what he was, what his foster family was, she would probably hate his guts, and she would have every right to hate him. In spite of that, he adored her, and the friendship they had forged thus far, and it hurt to see her so beaten up. Somehow he couldn't help wondering if his mind was mixing his deepest fears of Void getting hold of her with the dream. It was possible she wasn't even aware of the way he was seeing her. Dreams worked in strange ways like that... Unbeknownst to the brunette, he was muttering clips and phrases under his breath, questions concerning who had done this to her. Whoever had done this.... Whoever.... "I'll.... Going to...." He murmured, a scowl of anger flashing across his face. There would be hell to pay if he ever got his hands on--!
Finally Sable's words started floating back to his consciousness, as she insisted that it wasn't as bad as it looked. Merlin commended her for her optimism, in spite of whatever hell she had clearly gone through. Darren on the other hand wasn't quite so pleased. He gave Sable a skeptical look, clearly not believing a word she said when downplaying her injuries. "Why do you always have to--" Darren cut himself off and gave an irritated sigh of defeat, jaw rigid. There was no point in arguing with dreams. He was already scared stiff seeing Sable like this anyways, and began trying to coax himself into waking up... Only that didn't work, and Sable insisted that he was already awake. Darren paused, rather confused. Normally he could force himself to wake up from these things, but nothing was happening. Merlin suggested that the fact that Darren had thought this was all a dream explained a lot, reaffirming Sable's assertion that he really was awake. Darren stared distantly at the ground, still taking it all in as Sable insisted that she probably wouldn't be trying to convince him that she was fine if it were a bad dream, or be nearly as cheerful. "H-heh..... You'd be surprised...." Darren suggested hoarsely, slowly leaning backwards so that he could shakily sit down. Void was known for stuff like that. Lulling minds into a false sense of security and then doing irreversible damage the moment you let your guard down. Slowly coming to terms with this strange new reality, Darren found he could no longer look at Sable, a pink rosy blush creeping up onto his cheeks as h focused his attention on digging her stuff out of his bag. "H-here.... I have um... Some of your things." He offered sheepishly, handing over her badge case, a soothe bell, and a pair of pants.
After a moment, Darren just looked very tired. "Heh, Merlin, I might just take you up on that offer of a pinch, just to me sure..... This is all so crazy...." He murmured, taking a breath and glancing around the warped rock space landscape. "The distortion world huh...? Seems fitting." His eyes fell on Gavyn after a moment. "Sorry uh... If I weirded you out back there Gavy..." Darren offered sheepishly. If he had know he wasn't dreaming, he wouldn't have been nearly so braizen.

Sable couldn't help but give a defeated sigh when Darren started into what would have probably been a rant if he hadn't cut himself short. It was bad enough that she, a person who hated having other people worry about her, was traveling with people like Darren and Gavyn. To add on the fact that she seemed to be getting rather danger-prone, well, that meant that she was attracting far more concern than she would have liked."...I just don'd like..."she muttered before trailing off, not really feeling like there was any point in explaining herself. Especially since Darren didn't seem to be listening to her or the others all that well at the moment. He seemed to be more concerned with trying to dismiss the reality in front of him as a mere dream. Sable and Merlin were quick to point out to Darren that that wasn't going to work out as well as he might like due to him already being awake in the first place. Merlin even went so far as to offer Darren a pinch as proof. As things started to slowly sink in, it looked like Darren wanted to sit down."...H-here... I'll gib ya a hand..."Sable offered before gently grabbing onto Darren to help lower him down easily. With how shaky he was looking, she was concerned that his knees might give out on him or something. That seemed to embarrass the teen quite a bit, and Sable wasn't entirely sure why until he gave her some items he claimed were hers. There was a badge case, a bell, and-"Oh! Rihd, dangs."-a pair of pants that quickly got snatched out of Darren's hands once Sable was certain he was safely seated.
While the teen got her pants on, she listened to what Merlin was saying about where the group had ended up."Hmm..."She didn't really have much to add to Darren's assessment, so a thoughtful hum would have to do. As the teen worked on making herself slightly more decent and mentally lamented the fact that the pants would have to go into the wash almost as soon as the group got out of this Distortion World or whatever it was called, she didn't notice that her beedrill was hovering closer to the timid teen that was hiding his face. The poor guy looked like he needed a hug, but with the neck of his sweater pulled up over his head, Honey was having a somewhat difficult time telling which side was the front and which was the back. After hovering back and forth while trying to make up her mind, Honey ultimately decided to carefully slide her stingers around the teen and hug Gavyn on the side that was closest to her. With how much she had moved around, that side happened to be his front.
While the boys reacted to the various hijinks of the pokemon at hand, Sable noticed some rustling coming from nearby. After a few shudders, one of the patches of grass had something jump out and reveal itself. It was a rattata, a perfectly ordinary rodent pokemon. Sable would have been more than willing to let the little pokemon go on its way, but then she saw what it was carrying with it and her attitude quickly changed."H-hey! Gib dad bak!"she exclaimed with flushed cheeks while grabbing at one of the balls on her belt. She recognized the dark teal cups and the brown string, and with all the awkwardness going on, it seemed rather fitting in a twisted way that some rattata would be running by with her bikini in its mouth. Still, that didn't mean she wanted to make Darren and Gavyn even more uncomfortable than they already were, so Sable hurriedly tossed the ball that she grabbed out in front of her in an attempt to quickly reclaim the piece of swimwear from the rodent. The pokemon that popped out was not all that impressive at first, given that Lily's reaction to the predicament was to hide inside her bamboo collar. Still, Sable knew she had a strong attack, one that could probably end the battle quickly as long as the small fox had the opportunity to use it enough.
The rattata wasn't planning on giving Lily that opportunity from the looks of things. Instead of waiting to see what its opponent would do, it quickly charged at Lily and slammed into her to knock the little gekkit away."You ogay, Lily?"Sable called out after seeing the solid hit. Lily's first reaction was to let out a brief whimper, but afterwards she gave an affirmative yap to her trainer's inquiry. Sable nodded, then pointed at the rattata."Rihd! Dro id off wid Supersonic, den follow up wid Enershee Ball!"Another yip could be heard before the kit shifted to a disorienting mix of screams and howls. It seemed to through the rattata off-balance, so Lily poked her head out from her collar before forming a bright, green ball of glowing energy and directing it towards the rodent with a tilt of her head. The ball struck the rat, causing a fair amount of damage, but it wasn't enough to keep the rattata from lunging towards Lily and sinking its fangs into the little fox. In what was a shock to both the pokemon and Sable, Lily let out a scream of pain and thrashed about until her movements started to slow.
Even though she wasn't experienced with her pokemon getting too far down in health, having only had one pokemon be unable to battle any longer before, Sable was quick to recognize that Lily wasn't going to be able to hold out any longer."Dad's enough!"she shouted as she hastily returned Lily to her ball. The only thing that kept Sable from mentally cursing herself out was the knowledge that, of all things, that attack shouldn't have been enough to bring her gekkit down. At least, not yet. None of the attacks that rattata could know at the moment would be able to do that much damage normally. Especially not an attack like Bite! Although, if Bite had been what caused the knock-out blow..."Agu! you're up!"Another ball was tossed out, and this time Sable opted to use the murkrow Darren had given her back in Pewter."Dry an Asdonish!"The crow pokemon gave the human a look as if she was crazy, but he opted to give the rodent his arguments instead of the human. At least then something would understand him. To his surprise, as well as the rattata's, the attack did quite a bit of damage and managed to startle the rodent into dropping the two-piece set of swimwear and scurrying off.

Finally, Darren seemed to start to be more accepting of the reality that this was, in fact, not a dream. Sable was given some of her stuff that Darren had managed to retrieve, most notably a pair of pants. The blue eyed male still seemed rather shaken, and after taking a seat with Sable’s assistance, he took Merlin up on the offer of a pinch. The Clefairy was quite happy to oblige. With a smirk, the pink fairy focused his psychic powers and pinched Darren on the right butt cheek. “Heh, wow, I thought you would have been tenser than that while sitting.” Merlin commented with a chuckle. “Certainly softer than Gavy’s boney posterior~” he added. “Meeeeeeeeeeeeer…” Gavyn groaned, embarrassed just by hearing all this. Why did his partner have to be so inappropriate at such times? It was uncalled for. And to talk about posteriors!
Gavyn straightened out a bit as he heard Darren apologized for ‘weirding him out’ earlier. What… manner of speech was that? Gavyn was not sure what it meant, but he was quick to brush it off anyways. “N-no harm d-done… D-d-do not worry about it!” he replied, voice slightly muffled from the neck of his sweater being pulled up over his face. “Gavy, Sable has her pants back on now.” Merlin alerted his trainer. The spectacled male still was not convinced that that made her entirely more decent.
However, before Gavyn could even decide whether or not he would lower the neck of his sweater from his face, there was a buzzing sound around him. Then suddenly, something large was clinging to him, causing Gavyn to squeak in surprise. He peeked out from the neck of his sweater to see a beedrill hugging him. While Gavyn was not scared of bugs, and actually did not mind most of them, he was still a bit uncomfortable with the closeness. Those sharp barbs were full of poison, and he would rather not get stung. “U-um… H-hello there…?” Gavyn greeted the bug sheepishly. Oddly enough, it seemed to be hugging him. Which was an interesting, nice, but strange gesture coming from such an insect. Still a bit nervous and shaky, Gavyn lifted a hand to pat the bedrill gently, since it was being so friendly. He was pretty used to coming across bugs in his garden back in his time. This was possibly the tamest beedrill he had ever met, though.

Darren was struggling to come to terms with too many things at once. First, the fact that this wasn't actually a dream, which meant that he had actually carried Gavyn bridal style against his wishes, and Sable was actually standing there half naked and beaten up by Arecus knew what. She had explained herself, Darren knew that much, but he hadn't really made a point of listening like he normally would have, too concerned with the second thing he was trying to get a grasp on; the likely possibility that Void could, and would, get their hands on Sable. They didn't need a reason, not really. Generally Void members were thugs and thieves, so they could target Sable just because she happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time with valuable pokemon. Not to mention Sable clearly got a bad taste in her mouth whenever she saw gangs of any kind, so if she happened to catch some Void members, there would undoubtedly be a scuffle. Then there was the fact that.... He was part of them, whether he liked it or not. With his foster parents being Void admins themselves, of course they wanted Darren in the family business.... He just couldn't say no, no matter how much he hated it, they had given him so much and he didn't want to bite the hands that had fed him, clothed him, taught him, and paid for his every need and interest. Darren sighed, clearly still shaken. In the back of his mind, he knew all of these problems existed, but he hadn't really thought about them until now. This was the first scare, shredding his optimism and personal fable into tiny pieces. It was all too much, and Darren slowly made to sit don so that he didn't fall over or faint, accepting Sable's assistance in lowering himself to the ground.
Though, as he took her hand, he actually looked at her for the first time, rather than through her, and immediately regretted it, blushing up a storm as he quickly offered her the items of Sable's that he had been collecting. Now that he realized this wasn't a dream, he was quite glad he had made an effort to gather them, since it certainly helped Sable. He also felt obligated to apologize to Gavyn, since he'd invaded his personal space rather strangely even though the brunette had asked him not to. He just hadn't been taking the boy seriously, since, well, he had thought it was a dream after all. Gavyn didn't seem to mind thankfully, or at the very least he was trying rather hard to be nonchalant about it. Or, as nonchalant as he could be with Sable being scantily clad. Darren didn't think poorly of the boy, after all, it was hard for Darren to keep calm about it too. Though, half of the reason he was so flustered was probably because he cared about her so dearly. If Sable were a stranger Darren would feel a tad awkward but otherwise be largely unaffected. The feelings for Sable made it a lot harder to ignore so easily. In an effort to further distract himself, he joked to Merlin that he would have to take the clefairy up on his offer of a pinch, just to make sure this was all real. Darren got a lot more than he'd bargained for though when the Clefairy psychically pinched his butt cheek, eliciting a squeak from Darren as he jolted up and stood, glancing down at the ground for a moment. He half expected to see a pokemon angry at him for sitting on it, but as Merlin laugheed and commented on how his butt was tender, Darren blushed furiously as Gavyn groaned. "Wh-- what kind of comment is that supposed to--!?!" He stammered, utterly taken aback.
His attention went back to Sable as she yelled out. Apparently a rattata had another one of her items, which was.... A bikini top..... Oh dear. Darren turned away from the battle, figuring Sable could handle it, and noticed that Honey had taken a distinct interest in Gavyn apparently. Darren chuckled, moving over to the brunette as he greeted her uncomfortably. "I see you've met Honey~" He gave the beedrill a gentle pat. "She's very docile and friendly, but... Honey, perhaps you should let Gavyn go now so he can greet you properly." Darren suggested. Really it was so that she didn't accidentally inject him with poison, but he didn't want to upset the sweet beedrill, so sure, he was understating things a lot for the seriousness of the situation Gavyn was currently in, but hey, he seemed to be doing that a lot lately. Darren grimaced at the thought, and quickly regained his composure, checking briefly on Sable to make sure she was doing alright.

When Gavyn let out a surprised squeak, Honey let out a cheery squeal of her own and let her wings twitched as she hugged the timid teen even tighter. Granted, it probably wasn't the most comfortable of hugs, but Honey was careful not to poke the human with the tips of her stingers and instead tried to keep it so that it was the sides of her stingers that were in contact with the male."Haaaaaiiiii~"the bee pokemon chittered cheerfully in response to Gavyn's timid greeting, not that the human would really be able to understand it. The gentle head pats just ended up making the beedrill nuzzle her hand against Gavyn's hand. At least until Darren also started patting her. Then she let out another squeal as the teen introduced their new friend to her. It was only when the blue-eyed male suggested that she let go of the redhead that Honey let out what could only be taken for a whine of protest. She ultimately ended up letting go of Gavyn, though, and backed up a little afterwards to give him a bit of space.
While Honey and Gavyn were getting to know each other, Sable walked over and picked up the bikini top that the rattata had let go of during the battle."Sheesh... Ad leasd id didn'd gnaw a hole in id..."the teen muttered as she inspected the small combination of string and cloth. She heard some giggling and let out a sigh as she folded up the bikini top."Come on, id's nod dad funny..."she groaned as she turned towards the source of the laughter. When she saw who was giggling and chuckling, her eyes widened slightly in mild surprise. Floating in mid-air, hugging a very familiar bag tightly against its stomach, was an abra."Hey!"Just as the exclamation left the trainer's lips, the psychic pokemon teleported a short distance away. It had already been out of arm's reach, but it didn't seem to want to take any chances.
Sable wasn't keen on taking any chances, either."Agu! Don'd led id ged away!"the teen quickly called out. Her murkrow gave a squawk of acknowledgement as he flew after the troublesome teleporter. Rather than try to ram into it, though, the bird let out another, even louder and harsher squawk when he got close, startling the abra enough to cause it to teleport somewhere else, although not far enough to get away. Again and again, Aku flew after the abra with his angry crowing, and each time, the small psychic type ended up teleporting to a new spot. Most of the time, due to the realm's funky gravity and physics, the abra ended up in an awkward and unexpected orientation, which meant it was constantly spilling the contents of the bag across the battlefield, if it could be called that. Although that was sort of a good thing, as it meant Sable could go around and collect some of the more important of her belongings as they fell out, it was more of a nuisance than anything else.
Eventually, poor luck caused the abra to teleport right in front of Aku's face, startling the both of them and causing the psychic type to drop the bag entirely before teleportion at least one more time. Sable and her murkrow couldn't be sure if it continued to teleport after that one, as the abra was no longer able to be spotted. Sable let out a sigh of relief as she went over to grab her now-empty bag."Ad leasd my sduff's here... Probably..."the teen muttered as she started packing the stuff she had already grabbed into the bag. Mostly it was the stuff that Darren had already given her, although while Aku and the abra were busy having their mobile battle, Sable had managed to pick up several potions that had fallen out."Oh, rihd... Hun? C'mere, sweetie!"The teen had raised her voice a bit so as to get her beedrill's attention, which seemed to work well enough. Honey certainly zipped over rather quickly to see what her trainer wanted."Led's ged dose bite marks dagen gare of,"she said gently as she started working at getting Honey's injuries from her earlier scuffle with the rattata taken care of.
It didn't take long for the beedrill to be back in tip-top shape, so Sable could now focus on getting the rest of her stuff taken care of."Honey? Agu? Could you du help me ged dis sduff paged up?"she asked, then smiled slightly when both pokemon gave her a nod."Danks~"She probably would have asked Darren and Gavyn for help, too, but both males seemed to be a bit preoccupied at the moment. Darren wasn't looking too steady, so she didn't really want to ask him to go from kneeling to standing to kneeling again and back and forth for who knows how many items. Sable wasn't sure if there was more stuff or less than normal, and some of the stuff looked different, but there was certainly a lot of it. Gavyn, on the other hand, seemed to be rather uncomfortable, probably due to Sable herself. So, unless the two boys or their pokemon felt up to pitching in, Sable pretty much just had her beedrill and her murkrow for help getting her items gathered up and packed back into her bag.

Merlin simply giggled at Darren’s reaction. Such a cute squeak, much like his own trainer’s. Speaking of, he had even managed to make Gavy groan in embarrassment. The Clefairy seemed very proud of himself. Lucky for the boys, he did not bother making further comments to embarrass them. Instead, the fairy turned his attention to Sable. After her fight with an abra that apparently had some of her stuff, she seemed to need help with gathering her scattered objects. “Allow me to help, Sable~” he commented, then went about to gather up some fallen things of hers with her other pokemon.
Gavyn looked over to Darren as he approached, a large bee still attached to him. At the very least, it was friendly, and was not making any angry sounds at him. “H-honey? Th-that’s an adorable name…” Gavyn commented upon learning the name from Darren. The bespectacled male was relieved as the Beedril respectively let go, and gave her a gentle pat. “Th-thanks… It is pretty… unusual to meet such a sweet Beedrill…” Gavyn muttered. Not that it was a bad thing at all. He was grateful for the good natured insect.
Honey was soon called back to Sable for some healing, leaving Gavy standing by Darren while Sable gathered her stuff. The brunette fidgeted a bit, straightening out his sweater here and there.

Darren chuckled as Gavyn seemed to have attracted the attention of Honey. He didn't blame the boy for being cautious with a large beedrill embracing him, but Darren tried to ease his worry by introducing him to Honey and explaining how sweet she was, no pun intended. Darren's grin only grew wider as Gavyn commented on how adorable the beedrill's name was. "Heh, yeah, Sable did a good job with that one." He agreed, though for the sake of everyone's safety, he gently persuaded Honey to release the boy in her grasp, Honey seemed to whine at his suggestion, clearly reluctant, but she obliged nonetheless, and was rewarded with more pats. Gavyn commented that it was unusual to meet a docile beedrill like Honey. "Well Sable raised Honey from a weedle, so I suppose that might have some part in it, but as far as I've seen, she's very friendly and likes hugs, but she's very careful when she gives them. She's certainly the sweetest beedrill I've ever known." Darren beamed, as if she were his own pokemon. Really he was just fascinated with them all.
Sable suddenly called out something about not being funny, and Darren frowned, turning to the brunette curiously. "Huh? We weren't laughing...." He commented, confused. Soon it became clear that the culprit was the abra that had stolen Sable's bag originally. "Hey, that's--!!" Sable had realized it too, sending her murkrow after it as the abra attempted to teleport away, though it seemed to be having trouble with it. Darren could understand why, given the strange, funky gravity of the Distortion World. He could imagine the issues it presented to psychics. It ended up just spilling more of Sable's bag contents across the floor and then eventually ramming into Aku's beak before dropping the bag and disappearing altogether. With a sigh, Darren approached Sable along with Merlin to help gather Sable's strewn items while she healed her pokemon with the potions she'd picked up. With the brief distractions over however, Darren's cheery demeanor faltered as the feeling of dread crept over him once again. "So.... This is all really happening..." He murmured. It was more of a statement than Darren looking for an affirmation. "I don't even remember how I got here, but Merlin had said something about reports of portals opening up everywhere, so I guess I was swept away in my sleep..." Darren debated his situation.
Humming thoughtfully, Darren crossed an arm over his chest and put a hand to his chin. "Well, now that we've found each other, I suppose the question becomes; "how do we get out" right?" Darren knew he was stating the obvious, but it was something he needed to do as he analyzed the issue. "I wasn't thinking about it before, since I was so sure this was a strange dream, but Merlin had mentioned he heard people calling this place the Distortion World.... I have heard that name before, now if I could just remember where...." Darren was thinking furiously now, pacing the floor with his eyes closed. "I feel like it's on the tip of my tongue and I just can't seem to-- Ah!" Darren opened his eyes at last, one could almost see the lightbulb go off above his head. "I recall reading a book on Sinnoh legends. It's said that the Distortion World was a rift in time and space as the banishing place for the legendary Giratina..... Time doesn't flow, the laws of space and physics don't apply, hence why it's so dream like..." Darren frowned once again, glancing around the strange world. "But many also believe Giratia chooses to remain here of it's own violation, only emerging when Palkia and Dialga quarrel. Ah, but I'm drifting from the point." He shook his head and moved closer to the edge of the floating landmass they stood on.
A mirror like sphere hovered nearby, and Darren hesitantly reached out, gently taking it from the air. "It's also said that the Distortion world is the inverse of ours, that the two are connected in more ways than we know...." He turned back with the orb to show Gavyn and Sable the familiar image of Cerulean City within. "No one has really made any sort of account on the inner workings of the Distortion World, but people have seen those portals before. Given that these orb-like objects are the only things that seem to have any indication of a connection to the outside world, they may be our only ticket out of here. The question is, how one activates a portal...." He mused. "This is of course, only a theory, but I believe it's the best chance we have of returning to our own world." Darren took a deep breath. This was risky, messing with powers they had limited knowledge of, but what choice did they have?

Sable grinned a bit when Merlin offered to help gather up her stuff. Darren also started to help out, which the teen appreciated."Thanks, guys. Sorry about much of it there is,"she commented, chuckling a bit afterwards. Between those two, Sable herself, and what help Honey and Aku could give, the clean up didn't seem like it would take long at all. Most of it, Sable worked at packing into the bag and re-adjusting whatever the others put in to make sure everything would fit. When her cloak was handed to her, though, she opted to wear that instead of trying to get it packed. Mostly, it was because of how obvious it was that her current apparel was bothering Gavyn, so it would at least bring her back to the usual amount that she was covered. As soon as she clipped on the pin Jin had gotten her back at the fair, though, the stone that was set in it started glowing."Hu- Uh... Uh-oh..."Several surprised chittering noises could be heard as well as Honey had started glowing, the beedrill having picked up the mega stone her trainer had shortly before the pin had been attached. Once the glow faded, the beedrill was still rather obviously a bee, but she looked rather different. She had grown a few extra stingers, for one, and she seemed to be carrying herself differently as well.
Sable didn't have much time to question whether this was a good or bad thing, though, as Darren tried to puzzle out the group's situation out loud. It wasn't something she'd do very often, but she could understand why someone would want to vocalize their thoughts on a confusing or difficult matter. For one, it got the thoughts out in the open where other people could hear them and give whatever comments they might have. For another, sometimes hearing a thought could trigger a different set of thoughts than simply thinking about it could provoke. Either way, it seemed to do the trick since Darren recalled some information he read in a book. Myths and legends weren't exactly what Sable wanted to go by, but old stories were better than no knowledge at all."...I don't like where this sounds like it's going..."the teen muttered as she followed behind Darren. From the way those legends were sounding, it seemed like things weren't supposed to leave the place they were stuck in. That... Didn't bode well for the group.
Eventually, the group came across a strange object. Some sort of shimmering, mirror-like sphere that floated in the void that served as the air of the realm. Once Darren brought it over so that the rest of the group could look at it, Sable could easily enough spot that whatever image was inside, it was at least a city with a river flowing nearby. It could have been Cerulean, or it could have been some other city. Sable wasn't familiar enough with the various towns and cities to be able to tell. Regardless, it was somehow connected to the real world and could possibly serve as a key to send the group back. The question, though, was how.
"...How strange..."
An unfamiliar voice echoed from somewhere up above as a very familiar body was dropped to the ground."Jin?!"Sable was shocked to see the disguised zorua, mostly because she wasn't aware of him being sucked in as well. She didn't run up to him immediately, though, and instead quickly looked for what had dropped him there and, possibly more importantly, the source of the strange voice. From the way things looked, both had the same origin, and it certainly wasn't something Sable expected to see. A large, somewhat serpentine form colored black, grey, red, and yellow loomed over the group as it floated in the air. It was a pokemon the teen wasn't familiar with, but given the bit of exposition Darren gave out, Sable had a wild guess as to what the creature was. That didn't make her any less wary, though. If anything, it made her even more nervous, as while she certainly wasn't anywhere near an expert on legendary pokemon, she had heard enough tales to know that one wrong move would be disastrous.
For its part, the giratina didn't seem to be too concerned with the reactions of the trainers, whatever they might be. It only had two reasons for showing itself to the humans, and it had just completed one of them."You have your mongrel back,"it boomed as the orb that Darren held began to glow brightly."Now leave."With that, a large, dark void suddenly opened up beneath the group, sucking them through and depositing them wherever it may. It only lasted a moment before disappearing, leaving the giratina alone again."...What is this world coming too...?"the legend lamented as it floated away to return to its "stroll" through the distortion world.
