Terry got a small blush on his cheeks at the hum but hopefully it wasn’t really noticeable. His eyes darted from Seung to the blonde then back again when the other offered to go with her to pick out more manga. Now he was left wondering just what Seung was up to as the other walked off with the blonde girl. “Guess we might as well finish up collecting our own then.” He said politely to the dark haired girl then moved to pick out a few more manga.
He wasn’t surprised that she followed him while picking out her own and kept answering the questions she had so long as they were nothing too personal. He was sure to ask her a few things in return which is how he found out her name was Mary by the time they were done and moving to meet up with the other two. “Ready?” He asked with a smile when he saw Seung and the blonde girl.

The blond girl hadn’t been that bad to talk to, though it was a bit difficult with his butchering of the language, but she understood most of what he was saying or trying to say. Him and Terry didn’t come up, perhaps she was embarrassed about it or wasn’t sure how to approach the topic. Either way they did talk about anime as they picked out various manga. He only picked up two, both in English since he already owned the Japanese ones. These two were for Terry and himself, it would help him with his English and it was something of a tease for Terry….something subtle.
Looking up from another he was checking out he nodded to Terry and the brunette. “Ready.” And he was as he approached, slipping one of the manga into the basket and the other one he showed to the other. “This one we can read tonight.” Sekai-Ichi Hatsukoi: Onodera Ritsu no Baai. The cover of which gave away just what the manga would be about, or at least he hoped it would.
“Think you might like?” He asked the other smiling at him, oh yes he was hoping the other got a hint, or a few. He might also be trying to give a hint to the brunette, though that wasn’t the main thing for him with his picks.

He gave a smile at the others answer, glancing over to the blonde girl to see that she was agreeing with being done. Terry looked at the manga that Seung was holding up and gave it a curious look over even as a slight blush spread on his cheeks. It was obvious what kind of genre it was so he was more curious as to what the story line was and such. “Sure. Have you read it before?” He asked with a return smile. “Oh I’m sure I will like it.” There was a sparkle in his eyes showing he did indeed get the hint the other was giving.
The brunette girl had taken a look at the manga that Seung was showing off and a flicker of suspicion started to happen though she still didn’t look like she would stop flirting. This was proven when she started back up and brought up taking this to the cafe again. Her blonde friend looked at the manga then started to give her friend a look that was a mix of amused and embarrassed.

“Mmm, I’ve read it in Japanese.” He answered as he decided to open the manga to show a random page. “It’s good, anime too.” Seung added in after a moment before closing the manga. Oh, he was hoping to give the girl the hint and it seemed she might have caught something, maybe she thought he was flirting with his friend? Either way Terry understood he was hinting at something else and that was good.
“Could do more shopping, some place else - after cafe...just us.” Came his suggestion as the manga went into the basket and he went to take Terry’s arm and leaned into him. “Have bubble tea in cafe maybe.” Which would be nice to have right now, he wanted to find a good bubble tea in the city to enjoy when summer came around.
“Will pay for drinks for all.” Seung offered then, he didn’t mind covering it especially for himself and Terry. The blond wasn’t bad either, he’d learned her name was Amy, a nice name and easy to say for him. While glancing about he spotted a worker walking past their aisle, carrying an opened box of presumably new manga, maybe not a new series or volume but new stock. Tall and male they looked good - really good actually. In fact Seung couldn’t help but stare a bit and wish he could follow them, with his eyes, as they continued...there were other areas he could not see from standing where he was - how sad.

“Cool, then you and tell me of any differences between the two.” Terry raised an eyebrow at the suggestion, wondering just what kind of shopping they would be doing but nodded. He didn’t have any problems going after they finished up here. “Sure. What’s bubble tea taste like?” He asked, having never had it before, as he leaned slightly back against Seung. He had heard about it and seen it but hadn’t had the chance to try it himself just yet. He was tempted to speak up about the other offering to pay but instead just decided he would pay for the manga instead.
He looked over to the girls and saw that the blonde had caught the brunette’s attention with some manga she had picked up then looked back over to Seung to see him looking at a worker. Terry spared a moment to look him over the worker and yeah, he could agree that the guy was hot, then gave Seung an amused look. “Ready then? We can go pay for the manga then go to the cafe and see if they have your bubble tea.”

“Mm, can do that. Different from anime some too.” Always was, but both were good - how could he not like either. It was sweet and romantic. “Can watch anime after reading whole series.” He suggested as his attention was pulled away from what he’d been staring at...and after. Licking his bottom lip he turned his dark eyes onto Terry and nodded his head. “Ready...and tastes…” Biting down on his bottom lip, gently, he tilted his head.
“Black tea...pick ice and sweet level...tapioca pearls.” He answered. “Is good…can get other flavors..green tea...more.” Not knowing how to say other flavors, they weren’t words he knew yet. “They have I can share with you.” To let the other try it and see if he liked it. He hadn’t caught the other staring at the male worker, like he himself had been doing, but when they left the aisle he motioned for the girls to follow. “Good idea - we pay then drink.” And he hoped they had bubble tea, and if they did he hoped it was good. Clinging to one of Terry’s arms he continued to look down aisle and not just due to the hot male worker but also curious of the other kinds of shoppers here.

Terry hummed in agreement. “Anime is most likely in Japanese with Subtitles right?” He asked, figuring it would be since there weren’t many shounen-ai or yaoi titles that were brought over and translated into English when it came to Anime. Not that he had a problem with this as so long as there were translations for it he was perfectly happy with it. His eyes dropped to Seung’s lips when the other bit them then he made himself look back up to his eyes. “Sound interesting and something I wouldn’t mind trying.” He said with a smile at the other’s offer. He then started to lead their little group to the cash registers,
By this point the brunette was looking between the two of them like she wasn’t as sure of herself any more but having caught Seung looking at the worker she got a determined look in her eyes. The blonde on the other hand followed them and was asking Seung about the different bubble tea’s he had tried before. She had pretty much figured that her friend would do as she would and would rather the other girl figure things out completely on her own as a lesson in paying attention.

“Mmm, yes. Watched those myself, though could not read the English all of it.” He could read some of it, and didn’t need the subtitles at all, but he’d seen it with subtitles himself. “Have on flash drive saved.” Since he did do cosplay he kept a lot of anime on various flash drives so he could easily pull one up to watch if he needed to check an outfit, even if it was only worn in a single episode or two he could find it. He also would try and watch a few episodes in the days leading up to each convention so he could get the personality right, he wanted the costume right but also the acting. It was sort of a refresher of sorts, for himself, to make sure he had the act all right for himself and other people who would see and talk to him at the convention.
“If not here then next time I have.” He would go out for bubble tea and bring Terry, not just so he could try it but that would be a big reason.
As they walked he enjoyed the blonds company as well, planning on asking for her number he did offer his phone to her so she could add it in. “Melon...sweet…” Shaking his head some. He liked sweet things but not as sweet as that could be. “Not full sweet...get less. Might be better. Black pearl's best so is black milk tea.” He did ask for her help with a few words - like melon. He’d also checked his phone before handing it to her, looking up how to pronounce a few of the words. “Toffee...good...earl grey not bad.” The last one, earl grey, he’d tripped on that first word as well as toffee, as it was topi for him so close enough really.
“Many ones at Gong Cha - best place in opinion…” That made him wonder if they had a place here...could they possibly? He had never thought to look, figuring it a thing in Asia only.

Terry could see how that could get confusing though at least Seung had been able to speak Japanese so he wouldn’t get thrown off if he did try to read them. Of course speaking the language and reading the subtitles could get confusing since sometimes the words didn’t quite fit the meaning of the speech. “We shall have to go through and see if we have any of the same anime’s or not some time.” He said thinking back to his own collection. He mostly had them on an external drive rather than a USB if he had them in digital form. Other wise he had them on dvd’s. He then gave a nod, planning on looking to see if any place served bubble tea if they didn’t have it here.
The blonde had thanked him for the information as she added her number into Seung’s phone. She went on to say that the toffee kind sounded good, though she had never heard of a melon tea flavor. Thankfully the brunette didn’t seem like she was going to be asking for any number swaps just yet as she had gotten distracted by the tea talk and was wondering just how sweet was sweet when it came to some of them.

“Yes, might have some as same.” He responded with a small nodding of his head. He had a rather large collection, diverse also, some genres were more represented than others but he did have a lot of anime's on his flash drives. He had manga books, he needed another book shelf for them all in all honesty, maybe he could also store some at his wonder, for something to read there? He was sure technology wouldn’t work there, or well it would but things like the internet would fail miserably there. Batteries also only lasted how long and with no way to recharge them time on a laptop was limited. He’d mention the idea to the other later, when they were alone...after other things he had planned and was hoping for.
“Sweet...ummm...like cereal milk and sugar…” He said though his accent was heavy and the words he was a bit hesitant on, especially cereal since it wasn’t something he ate. His breakfast consisted of different things. “Can ask for less sweet….thirty percent...more...same for ice.” He said taking his time in talking and explaining things. “Order toppings.” It was all very customized to what the customer wanted and how they wanted it. He didn’t like his too sweet, he liked to taste the tea, and the tapioca pearls were the best. Some ice but not too much, otherwise it would water the drink down too much, and that the taste was bad - weak.
Pocketing his phone, once he got it back from the blond, he was happy to have another friend in this city since he didn’t have any in school. He was hoping when he started at DCU in the fall, maybe in the summer, that would change. Universities tended to be more diverse, he hoped that was the same here and thus he’d fit in.
Moving toward the check out, moving around someone who was walking and reading, he nearly was hit into. “Yah!” The exclamation was rather sudden and by instinct. He turned to look at the person who seemed be staring now as if he’d almost walked into them. Staring, wide eyed, he shook his head and turned back around to continue toward the checkout area. There were three open registers and grabbing the basket from Terry, without giving the other time to say anything, he made for the open register as the other two were busy with people and with no one on the line he was up next.

Terry nodded at the other’s agreement that they might have a few of the same animes then gave a chuckle at how the other pronounced cereal. Every so often he would catch the other mixing up how to pronounce words, adding to them, or stressing the wrong part but he honestly found it cute so he hadn’t done a very good job in pointing it out as often as he probably should. He did listen to the actual words themselves of course and a majority of the time he could figure what Seung meant either with context or because the word was similar enough.
“So bubble tea is sort of like the drink equivalent to ice cream or frozen yogurt thanks to the customization?” He asked though he wasn’t sure if the other had been to the froyo places that were growing in popularity in the States. Terry was surprised when the person Seung had avoided hitting let out an exclamation and looked between the two wondering just why the person did but Seung was on the move again so he just followed after him. The basket was swiped from him by the other and he gave a fond smile but moved quickly over to be by the register and pulled out his wallet to pay. While Seung might be sneaky and able to swipe, he was still determined to pay for them.
The girls were watching this all happen and stood behind the two in position of next after them. They both were having a quiet conversation on the topic of some of the manga they had both picked out.

He knew he still made mistakes and had always been surprised to find Terry never correcting him, unlike his tutors and the teacher at his school who was working with him on his English, but he appreciated it as well. He didn’t have to worry as much and focus on how he said things, he could just talk and enjoy himself.
“Like what?” He asked his dark, curious, eyes on Terry. He was rather clueless on what the other was talking about before running his fingers through his hair. “Maybe...need to find good place for bubble tea.” A proper place with the choices and such which could be made, it was best to let the person pick the various things so it came out how they wanted it. He his own way of taking his tea and if he could find a good place - a proper place he would be introducing Terry to it.
While Terry might want to pay Seung was already getting money out even as the male worker was ringing the manga up. “Is like...iced tea...sweet and with tapioca or jelly in it. Suck up in straw with tea.” Then you could chew on the tapioca pearls and it really was a good drink for a hot night, something to walk around with. Or a hot day and some street food to go with it….ohh how he missed the street foods back home! This summer he was dragging Terry around with him to try all the street food possible.

“Like ice cream or frozen yogurt. Clearly this means I should bring you to one of these places sometime.” Terry said with a smile. He wondered if the other hadn’t had either one of them before or just hadn’t learned to words for them in English. Something he could ask later he suppose. “We could look and see if there is online later if you want.” He eyed the other pulling out his money and debated whether it would go over well if he simply by passed him to pay for it. Probably not. “I could pay for it, I think you paid last time.” If the girls, Mary in particular, caught that then it would be obvious they did this sort of thing often.

He knew ice cream it was similar enough but it was the other word he didn’t know and what threw him off but that was ok, Terry was offering to take him. “Would be good, I would like that.” He answered honestly. “Use phone to look after drinks.” They could easily find a bubble tea place with his phone. He knew one place but it just wasn’t as good as he wanted, as he hoped for. Maybe he wouldn’t find something as good as what was back home? Maybe he’d get lucky though - he hoped.
Noticing the other pulling out money he handed over his own and smiled at him. “Shopping later...can pay then. Might be more too...not sure.” How could he be? He didn’t know what they’d purchase, if anything, or the cost. He hadn’t looked at prices here for the things he was thinking of.
“Will let you pay next time out also.”

He nodded, glad the other was interested in trying out the ice cream and frozen yogurt at some later date. “That works too.” Terry said with a chuckle. It wasn’t that it slipped his mind that using their phones to look up the places had slipped his mind. It was more along the lines of he wasn’t sure if the other had wanted to go today or save it for another day so he had just suggested using a computer later. But he had no problem with looking and seeing if there were any nearby and possibly going to it today if the other wanted.
When Seung was quicker with handing over the money, Terry gave a small smile and almost rolled his eyes. He wasn’t surprised that was the other’s response at all. “Alright, I’m fine with paying later then.” He agreed then tucked his wallet away. He watched as the manga were rung up and paid for then swiped the bag they were in. He then looked over at the two girls who were checking out as well then back to Seung, not sure if they should wait for them or not but leaning towards yes since it wouldn’t be long.
