Florence beamed, swinging his little feet and admiring the view that he shared with a friend. He was content to sit for a bit. They'd only just gotten here after all, and if Essei had never been this high before than she'd likely never had this sort of view. It was good to take a moment and enjoy it!

Since they had time, he took a moment to give his friend another looking over. He'd found her colors very pretty and had noted that she was a Fey of the solar variety, but that was about it. Now he scrutinized a bit more closely, noting little things that he'd learned from his dad. "Do you like headbands," he asked, wondering if she owned any. "I got a couple, cause they look nice and keep my hair out of my face. I think you'd look cute with a headband." His antennae wiggled about while his wings fluttered slightly and he grinned. "I mean cuter, cause you're already cute even without a headband. If you don't like 'em though that's fine. My dad does my hair a lot and teaches me how to do stuff. It's fun to play with hair!"

Florence nodded enthusiastically and pointed to his hair, done in the style to look like it was a bow. "My dad did that. He can also do all sorts of braids and stuff!" It was kind of funny how good Morginn was with hair, actually, considering his was cut as short as Essei's was now. Must have been all the practice with fabrics that helped him be good at it, or that was Florence's guess anyway.

"I can bring some headbands to school tomorrow and show you though. I got lots of 'em cause my dad likes making them, so I don't mind giving you a few if you want." He was sure his dad wouldn't mind either. If anything he'd want to meet Essei to make her headbands specifically for her. Morginn loved being able to dress up children.

"I'm totally your guy," Florence said, chest puffed with happy confidence as his little leaf antennae wiggled about. He resolved to find out a bit more about hair styling from his dad. While Florence felt like there was nothing Morginn couldn't lay hands to and turn cute, it kind of became a matter of pride to be able to help out his new-found friend all on his own. To be able to do things that would put a look of equal amazement on Essei's face like when she realized his hair "bow" was real.

"Do ya want to climb down now, or stay in the tree a bit longer and see if we can spot anything interesting," Florence asked, content with either option. When you were antsy it was hard to sit up in a tree for long, but there was a fun feeling like being a stealthy spy or something when you were up high where people usually didn't look for watchers.

Florence was a bit faster than Essei and managed to take a separate branching path to shimmy down beneath her. He didn't go too far, just in case his friend needed help, but tree climbing was as easy to him as walking. It helped that this was such a nice tree, with plenty of foot and hand holds.

Finally the pair made it to the ground. Florence actually dropped the last few feet, using his wings to help make his landing soft. It wasn't exactly graceful, but he considered it good flight practice. "Swings next," he asked, tilting his head slightly while his antennae wiggle about. He was pretty sure that was the plan, but he was totally up for anything. Swinging was pretty nice though, almost as good as flying!

Florence paused to make sure the scraped knee wasn't bad enough to require anything more than a few perfunctory tears of pain, making a few noises in sympathy. It wasn't that long ago that he'd been in the same boat! Thankfully the scrape was, according to Essei's reaction, nothing serious and not worth fussing over.

"The swings it is," he called out happily, and then turned to give chase. It wasn't really a race, just two freshlings full of enthusiasm and life having fun together. To Florence's mind it could not have been a better day! After all, it wasn't often that you met someone you could feel such instant friendship with!
