Labyrinthite arched his brow for Silk when he shook his head, almost in a disappointed manner. "It appears they don't do the same for you that they might for me," he explained, reaching to give the cat a gentle scratch between the ears instead. "A pity, but useful knowledge."

The general had always preferred to learn things first hand rather than trust the information provided to him by others. He was, at least, grateful that Silk had not reacted poorly to the starseed. Who knew what effects it would have on someone who wasn't quite human in the same ways he and the corrupts were.

"We can pick something out for you at the store later," he offered instead, letting his weapon dissolve as he looked at the girl's dead body. Her glamour was still in tact, so far, but he suspected it would fade soon enough and he didn't want to stick around to see who might stumble upon them.

So he teleported them back to his home, where the guise of Labyrinthite melted and returned to the man Silk had been glaring at when he'd stepped outside his shop. "So, what are you undoubtedly snarky opinion about my capabilities?"

Silk really wished he knew more. Yeah, he'd been given a general knowledge of what he should be doing when Laurelite found him and his sister, but stuff like what star seeds do to others---he didn't. Those kinds of details were really important, and that was another reason he was secretly excited to make an acquaintance with Labyrinthite. A general who'd been around a while? He was bound to be an encyclopedia he could learn from, surely.

"What do they do for you?" He asked, licking around his mouth after swallowing the star seed, really not feeling any different than before. His eyes also lidded nearly into slits as the general gave him a gentle scratch, and he found he didn't mind the action so much from the man. The kitten was temporarily lulled into the satisfaction of a nice pet, but his ears swiveled forward and alert as his eyes widened. "Store?" He repeated. "Why are we going to the store?"

The lifeless senshi wasn't even given a second thought or spared another glance. She had served her purpose, and it was on to the next matter. The kitten was surprised as they teleported again, somewhere completely new, and he tensed a bit, looking around before turning his head to look back at Chase. Silk blinked for a moment, before his expression lidded once more.

"...They're pretty alright...I suppose you got as strong as you were through hard work and dedication..." After all, a slacker wouldn't have been as extraordinary and deadly at dispatching someone of Order like that.

That was just tsundere speak for Silk saying he was impressed.

"Adrenaline rush and a physical boost, it's temporary but it also helps speed up our accelerated healing factor." He hadn't digested one in a while, outside of when he'd been eager to repair whatever damage Iris had done to his starseed. He preferred to rely on himself and his personal strengths to outdo opponents. Besides, he'd seen the negative side effects of starseed addiction. "We're going to the store to get you a treat," Chase replied easily, glancing at the kitten still perched on his shoulder with a look of fond amusement.

"And, if you'd like to stay here, with me, I thought we might pick out bedding that suits your fancy."

He already had one cat, but he was sure that there wouldn't be too many issues. Momewrath kept to itself, even if it curled up on his bed from time to time. Plus, Chase was convinced the other cat didn't care enough to assert dominance over little bitty Silk. Besides, he knew a guardian cat would be an excellent addition to his growing pack.

Daaang. That was good stuff to know---but yet he was also disappointed he didn't get those kinds of benefits as well. An adrenaline rush and a physical boost? He'd had a better time fighting senshi and knights if could reap those benefits!

As they moved from that topic to the time being though, the kitten found himself feeling something of a bit of a loss. He just kind of stared at Chase a bit uncomprehending. Well, he wasn't shy or modest in the slightest about being given treats for his awesome skills, but what was this now about staying with him and getting his own bed? After the moment the kitten shifted on Chase's shoulder, loosening his hold to shift into a perching position, his tail wrapping around his side. He looked towards the house for a moment, and then back at the man.

Upon meeting him, he would have just liked at least being able to keep running into him...but now the General was offering him a place to live?

Cat got his tongue---but more like Chase had.

"...I can?" The tone had been the least cocky and filled with disbelief the entire night---or more like his entire awakened life so far.

It was admittedly uncomfortable to have to crane his neck to look at Silk so Chase moved over to the couch - that he really needed to replace but it was one of the many things he needed to replace during his quiet remodel - and scooped the black kitten up and set him on one of the cushions. There was the slightest hints of a smile on his lips when he nodded.

"Yes, every good knight of Metallia needs a guardian cat on his side." If he made it about Silk, it was more likely that the cat would agree. "I've got a bunch of war pups that need grooming, perhaps you and I could whip them into shape? Put your energy dampening skills to good use during trainings." He'd been contemplating a training session where he called the pack together to fight him.

It would be easier if someone could hide at least some of the energy signatures so the party didn't get crashed. If he hadn't had a senshi he wanted to groom he would've taken them to the rift but as it were...

"I can teach you how to better hold your own. You'd be a force to be reckoned with if you were by my side."

Silk made no protest as he was scooped up and placed on the cushion. The kitten shifted into the same position he had taken on Chase's shoulder, and was, uncharacteristically, quiet. He was listening to each and every word, and thinking about what he had been doing and what he wanted to do. Admittedly, he wasn't getting much done the way things were right now. Sure, he had met some other agent things, corrupt senshi things, had given a pen and a name to one Dark Mirror senshi thing, but aside from that, not much.

Then he remembered that Lace had pretty much disappeared for the most part, something about living with a Sarah-Fan-Ite or something---and well, that pissed him off. He needed to be doing stuff way better than her. Chase's words were pretty much hitting home. This really seemed to be an opportunity he'd be stupid (like his sister) to pass up. A chance to gleam everything from a bad a** general, and a team to foster on top of that!?

The kitten's gaze had been cast to the lid, lidded in thought, before he suddenly snapped his focus and attention back to the man near him, his mind made up.

"Yeah. I would be."

Chase had expected a snarky comment, not silence, from Silk and with it came muted concern. The man didn't like it when he perceived someone as acting out of character but he said nothing, let the kitten digest his offer and decide on how he was going to respond.

Silence stretched between them longer than he would have liked before the cat opened his mouth with confirmation. It wasn't snarky at all and that too surprised him, though he didn't comment.

Yeah, I would be, Silk assented and Chase felt as if he had won the lottery. It was much easier to convince the feline to ally with him than he expected but he had no complaints. Having a guardian cat on his team only strengthened him.

"Good, let's go to the pet store, pick up some things for you. For now, you'll stay in my room. Also, there's another cat. Non-magical. Don't kill it."

Admittedly, this whole situation was out of his norm, and thus he found himself a bit at odds for the time being.

Not being on his own anymore, on top of having someone powerful like a general offering him a place---a really nice place---to call home, and going to buy him things? It'd just been him and his sister for so long, taking scraps and trinkets and what not to get by (oh, right before his sister ditched him). The kitten immediately stood up from his loafing, little tail up in the air and alert, ready to go get things.

At the comment about another cat, Silk slowly blinked, and then stuck his nose up in the air. "As long as it knows who's top cat around here!" Then there won't be a problem. Maybe.

He'd be sure to set the boundary lines later with this cat for sure though.
